        This study covered the features and development process of the stylobate of the Sumijwa style, which emerged in Silla around the late 7th century. In the Period of North and South Dynasties, Sumijwa was used as the seat of the Buddha. It was used as a stylobate of tower in the Sui Dynasty and as a stylobate of central buildings in the Tang Dynasty, raising the status of buildings. In the late 7th century, Silla faithfully embodied Buddhist view of the world under its architecture by accepting the latest stylobate of the Sumijwa style. The pagoda of Hwangnyongsa Temple is believed to be the beginning of the stylobate of the Sumijwa style, in Silla. Gradually, in the central buildings within the capital, the stylobate of the Sumijwa style became common. Starting with Bulguksa Temple's Daeungjeon Hall, the materials of stylobate and staircaes will be integrated from the late 8th century. Silla's stylobate of the Sumijwa style can be evaluated as a step-by-step leap in religious, political, technical and aesthetic's terms.

        The color that painted on the ground of Dancheong becomes Gachil(basecoat)-Dancheong and underpainting of Moro-Dancheong or Geum-Dancheong. So, the color of underpainting is the most important element that determines impression of the building. Thus, the architecture after using “Sangrokhadan” has different characters from what it had been. In the existing perception toward the background color of Dancheong, it was considered the characters of Korean Dancheong so-called “Sangrokhadan” that paint vertical elements like columns red and upper part of the columns green. But this study examined the color of Dancheong according to the era and region before and after Goryeo Dynasty era, then it reveals that Sangrokhadan technique was applied from the 14th century in the late Goryeo Dynasty. One of the Goryeo architecture, Geungnakjeon Hall of Bongjeongsa Temple is thought to be a previous style that is not applied “Sangrokhadan” technique because old elements are painted red pigment.

        Because National Fire Safety Codes is mixed performance criteria and specification, and it defines the fire extinguish equipment type and standards that need to be installed in a building as one method. Therefore, to fully reflect the fire risk characteristics of the building, such as the wooden building there is a limit. In this study, suggested to the performance criteria drawn methodologies through fire load of wooden buildings studies, theory on performance and performance analysis to fire extinguish equipment of the wooden buildings is installed according to current fire safety codes.

        Western style timber roof trusses used as typical roof structures of buildings during a modern period have been developed with the interactions with their facade and functionality. The shapes of trusses and member sizes have been diversely changed by the purposes of architects, historical circumstances, and structural characteristics. For this reason, the change in the shapes of western style timber trusses along the times is one of important technology assets demonstrating the development of their structures during the modern period. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to find out their structural characteristics throughout parametric analysis of which parameters were determined from the collected and classified documents on western style timber roof structure built in the modern period carefully obtained from public institutions. Results of the parametric analysis are as follows. The number of king-post trusses and modified king-post trusses built between 1920 and 1937 reaches almost half of the total number of truss types investigated. The mean values of their spans, distances, tributary areas, and height are respectively, 10.5m, 2.4m, 24.37㎡ and 3.24m. The cross-section areas of trusses tend to reduce since the city construction law was enacted in 1920. Also, this study found that western architects usually used larger structural members than eastern architects and usages and finishing materials of roof trusses are not always considered as one of the important design parameters.

        Woods are used as a main material for the domestic Traditional Buildings and most Traditional Wood Structures should be conserved as Traditional Assets. To be conserved, structural performance should be evaluated. So traits of the materials are to be studied. Therefore characteristics of structural deterioration of Traditional Wood Structures are to be analysed on this study.

        Vibration measurements were conducted before and after the experiment of static loading test for soil-wall in wooden structures. As a result, natural period was changed depending on the damage of soil-wall. Accordingly, the damage assessment was carried out using each specimen strength degradation and the dynamic characteristics.

        건축물의 지진피해를 저감시키기 위해 국내에서도 다양한 실험과 연구가 이루어지고 있는데 그 중 건축물의 내진성능 진단방법 중의 하나로 전문가진단법과 같이 정량적인 내진평가를 얻기보다는 비전문가에게 사용 건축물의 구조적 이해를 돕기 위한 방법으로 일반인이나 건축물 관리자, 또는 비전문가가 사용할 수 있는 기초자진단법이 미국, 일본 등에서 많이 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 국내 건축물 가운데 전통 기법으로 축조된 목조 건축물에 적용할 수 있는 내진성능 평가법을 개발하기 위하여 우선 해외 목조 건축물의 매뉴얼 및 진단지침 등을 조사·분석하였다. 국내·외 9개 기초자진단법의 비교분석을 통해 내진성능 평가를 위한 일반적・구조적 평가항목을 도출하였고 소유자나 일반인, 관리자가 목조 건축물의 내진성능에 대해 이해하기 쉽도록 사진과 그림이 첨가되고 항목수가 10개, 20개 항목으로 된 2가지 종류의 기초자진단법 매뉴얼을 제시하였다. 또한, 목조 건축물의 내진성능 기초진단법 적용성 분석을 위하여 실제 사용자들에 대한 설문조사 결과, 전체 응답자의 80%가 내진성능에 대한 정보 습득 경험이 없고 본 매뉴얼 정보에 대한 유용성과 활용성에 대하여 대체로 만족하다는 결과를 얻었다.
