본 연구에서는 레이더 관측 영역 내에 강수 에코(echo)가 없는 지역을 비강수 정보라고 정의하고 자료 동화에 활용하였다. 비강수 정보는 레이더로 관측할 수 있는 최대 영역 내에서 강수에 의한 에코가 나타나지 않고 레이더에서 관측할 수 없을 정도로 약한 강수나 구름 입자가 있거나, 강수 자체가 없다는 것을 의미한다. 기존의 레이더 자료를 동 화한 연구가 강수에 의한 반사도와 시선속도를 동화하여 모델 내의 강수를 만들어내는 것에 초점을 두었다면, 본 연구 에서는 에코가 없다는 것도 하나의 정보로 고려하고 이를 동화함으로써 모델 내에서 잘못 예측한 강수를 억제하였다. 비강수 정보를 자료동화에 적용시키기 위해 레이더 비강수 정보를 수상체와 상대습도로 변환하는 관측 연산자를 제시 하고 이를 Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) 모델의 자료동화 시스템인 WRF Data Assimilation system (WRFDA)에 적용하였다. 또한 비강수 정보를 효과적으로 활용하기 위한 레이더 자료의 처리 방법을 제시하였다. 비강 수 정보가 모델 내에서 잘못 예측한 강수를 억제할 수 있는지 확인하기 위해 단일 관측실험을 수행하였으며 비강수 정 보가 수상체와 습도 그리고 기온을 낮춤으로써 대류가 억제될 수 있는 환경을 만들었다. 비강수 정보의 동화 효과를 실제 사례에 적용한 2013년 7월 23일 대류 사례 실험을 통해 9시간 예측을 수행하여 결과를 분석하였다. 레이더 비강 수 정보를 추가로 동화한 실험이 비강수 정보를 제외한 실험보다 Fractional Skill Score (FSS)가 증가하고 False Alarm Ratio (FAR)는 감소하여 모델의 강수 예측성을 향상시켰다.
According to the classification of World Health Organization, primary adenocarcinomas of the sinonasal tract can be initially classified as salivary and non-salivary types. The latter are further divided into intestinal and non-intestinal types. Sinonasal intestinal-type adenocarcinoma(ITAC) is rare adenocarcinoma subtype, which is closely occupational exposure to hardwood dusts, leather. In this study, we present a case of ITAC in a 68-year-old man. We successfully treated with wide excision and soft tissue reconstruction with free anterolateral thigh flap.
Non-keratinizing squamous cell carcinoma (NKSCC) is a rare malignancy of the nose and paranasal sinuses which is characterized by a unique anastomosing ribbon-like growth pattern with absent of limited maturation and keratinization. NKSCC accounts for 10-27% of sinonasal squamous cell carcinomas and some of the NKSCCs are reported to be associated with high risk-HPV infection. Advanced lesion can involve the oral cavity with oral symptoms of palatal bulging, surface ulceration mimicking salivary gland tumors. Herein, we report a case of NKSCC of a 46-year old male, which clinically presented as a bulging mass on the mid palate and mimicked a palatal salivary gland tumor. We reviewed the clinical and histopathological considerations required for differential diagnosis of sinonasal carcinoma involving the oral cavity.
Analysis of water quality distribution is very important for river water quality management. Recently, various studies have been conducted on the analysis of water quality distribution according to reduction methods of nonpoint pollutant. The objective of this study was to select the probability distributions of water quality constituents (T-N, T-P, COD, SS) according to the farming forms (control, slow release fertilizer, water depth control) during non-storm period in the paddy fields. The field monitoring was conducted monitoring site located in Baeksan-myun, Buan-gun, Jeollabuk-do, Korea during non-storm period from May to September in 2016. Our results showed that there were no differences in water quality among three different farming forms, except for SS of control and water depth control. K-S method was used to analyzed the probability distributions of T-N, T-P, COD and SS concentrations discharged from paddy fields. As a results of the fitness analysis, T-N was not suitable for the normal probability distribution in the slow release fertilizer treatment, and the log-normal probability distribution was not suitable for the T-P in control treatment. The gamma probability distribution showed that T-N and T-P in control and slow release fertilizer treatment were not suitable. The Weibull probability distribution was found to be suitable for all water quality constituents of control, slow release fertilizer, and water depth control treatments. However, our results presented some differences from previous studies. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the characteristics of pollutants flowing out in difference periods according to various farming types. The result of this study can help to understand the water quality characteristics of the river.
Manufactured part based on the drawing must be inspected for quality control. If no restraint note is specified on the drawing, the part should be inspected without any clamping(restraining). However if there is a restraint note, the part is non-rigid part. When inspecting non-rigid parts, there are two areas that need special attention: proper restraining of the part and determining which tolerances are checked in the retrained state. Mounting and restraining the part on the appropriate datum features is the first area. When retraining the part, the only forces that should be used are the ones described in the restraint note. The sequence for applying the restraining force specified on the drawing should be followed. The location, direction and amount of force should be in accordance with the restraint note. Once the part is restrained, the tolerances can be verified. When inspecting non-rigid part, the inspector needs to determine which dimensions and tolerances are to be checked in the retrained state. Careful reading of the restraint note will indicate if all or certain tolerances are to be checked in the restrained condition. Each feature control frame should be examined for the use of free state modifier. If a free state modifier is specified, the geometric control should be inspected with the part in the free state. When inspecting a non-rigid part on a coordinate measuring machine(CMM), fixture and clamp should be used to locate and clamp the part. The fixture will establish the proper part restraint conditions and datums. If a fixture is not used when inspecting non-rigid parts, it will be difficult or impossible repeatable measurements.
Defining and measuring non-rigid or flexible parts has been controversial in industry for many years. There are two primary areas of controversy. The first is agreeing on what exactly a non-rigid part is. The second is agreeing on how to define and measure a non-rigid part. The subject of non-rigid parts is further complicated by the brief coverage it receives in the national and international standards. This leaves each company to improvise or create its own rules for non-rigid parts. There are some who believe that Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) should not be used on non-rigid parts. This is not true. The ASME Y14.5M standard applies to rigid parts as a default condition. However, there is no definition given for a rigid part. The term rigid part has been used in industry for so long that it has gained a definition by its general use. When most people in industry say rigid part, they are referring to a part doesn’t move (deform or flex) when a force (including gravity) is applied. How much force is relative based on the part characteristics. In reality, all parts will deform (or flex) if enough force is applied. Using this logic, all parts would be considered non-rigid. However, we all know that this is not how parts are treated in industry. Although GD&T defaults to rigid parts, it should also be used on non-rigid parts with a few special techniques. Actually 50~60% of all products designed contain parts or features on parts that are non-rigid. Therefore, we try to suggest the definitions of rigid and non-rigid parts and method to measure non-rigid parts.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how important Korean high school students perceive English word stress to be, how familiar they are with word stress, and how well they pronounce the reduced vowel /ə/. Sixty high school students in Seoul participated in a survey study that investigated their perception of the importance of word stress in English. They were then asked to mark the stress on each of the 44 words selected from the basic vocabulary list compiled by the Korean Ministry of Education and to pronounce each word twice. The results of the survey revealed that a vast majority of the students (50 out of 60, 80%) do not pay attention to the stress and pronunciation of words when they study new vocabulary and that they memorize only the spelling and meaning of new words. As a result, many of them could not identify the stressed syllables in many of the 44 words, even when they knew their meaning. As for their pronunciation of the reduced vowel /ə/, the students on average were able to pronounce /ə/ correctly in only 23 words, although they stressed the correct syllable in 28 words. All these results highlight the necessity of teaching Korean students explicitly the importance of word stress in English and the correct pronunciation of the reduced vowel /ə/ in order to help them improve their intelligibility.
Presence of a palato-nasally impacted supernumerary tooth with nasopalatine canal involvement is a unique finding that demands careful attention during surgical extraction due to its distinctive anatomy. In this case report of a 7-year-old child, an impacted supernumerary tooth had a developmental anomaly that required both palatal and nasal approaches to successfully remove the tooth.
목 적 : 경부 MRI 검사에서 motion artifact의 주요 원인은 과 호흡과 침 삼킴에 의해 주로 발생한다. 본 논문은 경추검사 시 비강호흡과 구강호흡 방식에 따라 영상에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다.
대상 및 방법 : 2015년 11월부터 12월까지 특별한 질환이 없는 건강한 지원자 12명을 대상으로 하였으며, 검사장비는 Achieva TX 3.0T (Philips medical system, Netherlands)의 Neuro Vascular 16channel coil을 사용 하였다. 실험방법으로 대상에게 비강호흡, 구강호흡을 설명한 후 정상체위에서 비강호흡 시 경추 3, 4번 부위를 T2-TSE-Axial과 T1-TSE-Axial로 획득하고 구강호흡 시 동일하게 T2-TSE-Axial과 T1-TSE-Axial을 획득하였다. 정량적 분석은 움직임 영향이 발생하는 위상부호화 방향(AP)에서 Background noise를 측정하였으며, 관심영역에 ROI의 Signal Intensity(SI)를 측정하여 Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR)을 측정하였다. 정성적 평가로는 MRI 전문방사선사 3명이 영상의 Motion artifact관련 영상의 질에 대해 5점 척도로 영상을 평가 하였다. 통계적 분석은 Wilcoxon signed rank test(SPSS 18.0)을 이용하여 유의성을 검증하였다.
결 과 : SNR은 비강호흡 시 T2-TSE-Axial 95.82±30.72, T1-TSE-Axial 111.77±34.47 이였고 구강호흡 시에는 T2-TSE-Axial이 69.12±19.98, T1-TSE-Axial 72.11±21.06 이였다. Motion artifact관련 정성적 평가 결과는 비강호흡 시 T2-TSE-Axial 3.65±0.6점, T1-TSE-Axial 3.82±0.4점이였고, 구강호흡 시에는 T2-TSE-Axial 2.44±0.5점, T1-TSE-Axial 2.51±0.7점이였다. 통계적 분석 결과 호흡 방식에 따른 T2-TSE-Axial, T1-TSE-Axial SNR 모두 P < 0.05로 유의한 차이가 나타났다.
결 론 : 본 연구는 건강한 호흡방식인 비강호흡이 구강호흡에 비해 침 삼킴이 적어 SNR의 향상과 영상의 Motion artifact가 감소됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 구강호흡이 습관화된 환자들의 경우 검사 전 구강호흡에 대한 주의를 주고 비강호흡으로 검사한다면 진단학적 가치가 높은 영상을 구현할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
A 37 years old male patient had suffered from fibrous nasal polyp for more than 10 years even though careful medical treatment, and recently aggravated with severe nasal stiffness and pain. In the radiological observation the lesion was continuously extended into the ipsilateral maxillary sinus by poly cystic radiopacities gradually destroying the anterior wall of antrum. During the Caldwell-Luc operation a cystic fibrous granulomatous tissue was removed, and its microsections showed multicystic and tunnel-like spaces, of which lumens were usually round and filled with parts of parasitic worm e xhibiting parasitic t eguments and eggs. The granulomatous l esion showed relatively mild inflammatory reaction with the infiltration of eosinophilic PMNs. The histological features of tunnel-like penetration of parasitic worms, and their teguments and eggs were competent with the diagnosis of sparganosis. Especially, although the patient had no experience of raw foods such as frog or snake, he used to drink the untreated natural stream water obtained in the mountain area of Gangwon prefecture in Korea. Therefore, the present study demonstrated a rare lesion of antral spanganosis, and we suppose that the frequent incident of oral sparganosis in Gangwon prefecture is possibly related to the usage of untreated stream water in the mountain area of Gangwon prefecture in Korea
Myxomas are benign, slow-growing, locally invasive neoplasms derived from mesenchymal elements. Infantile myxoma (odontogenic or sinonasal) is extremely rare and usually occur in children older than 10 years of age. A 18-month-old boy presented with a painless, enlarging elevated lesion in left paranasal area. Physical examination revealed a firm, non-tender, bony-like elevation in the left nasal bone- maxilla bone transition zone that extended to the level of the inferior orbital rim, adjacent to the nasal bone. A computed tomography scan of the head revealed a well-defined, hypodense, multilocular lesion with a peripheral hyperdense circumference, involving the anterior wall of the maxilla, from the pyriform aperture to the level of orbital floor, adjacent to the nasal bone. Surgery was performed using an external approach. The microscopic evaluation showed loosely arranged spindle cells spaced in a rich myxoid matrix. Although rare, sinonasal myxoma should be included in the differential diagnosis of slow-growing, well-defined lesions of the face and jaws in infants.
This study aims to examine the distribution of English unstressed pronouns, i.e., unstressed personal pronouns. English unstressed pronouns sometimes have a unique distribution different from their referential counterparts in phrasal-verb constructions, dative constructions, subject-verb inversed sentences, etc. This study shows that their unique distribution is due to the two properties that they have. One is that they are old in information structure, thus they choose to come earlier if possible in a sentence. The other is that they are clitic in that they are phonologically bound to their preceding Case assigner.
