배경/목적: 본 연구에서는 췌장 낭종을 가진 환자들 중 임상적 으로 분지형 췌관내유두상점액종양(branch-duct intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm)으로 여겨지는 환자에서 췌장암 및 우려되는 특징의 누적 발생률을 조사하였다. 방법: 분지형 췌관내유두상점액종양으로 추적관찰한 환자 177명의 자료를 후향적으로 분석하였다. 영상 검사를 통해 주췌관과의 소통이 확인된 췌장 낭종을 ‘분지형 췌관내유두상 점액종양 의심’으로 정의하였고, 주췌관과의 명확한 소통이 없는 경우를 ‘분지형 췌관내유두상점액종양 추정’으로 정의 하였다. 결과: 환자 중 30.5%가 분지형 췌관내유두상점액종양 의심으로 분류되었다. 진단 시의 중위 연령은 64세였으며, 낭종 크기의 중앙값은 13 mm였다. 진단 시 19명(10.7%)의 환자가 우려되는 특징을 보였으며, 고위험 인자(high risk stigmata)를 보인 환자는 없었다. 70.5개월의 추적 기간 동안 3명의 환자에게서 췌장암이 발생하였으며 96개월 시점의 누적 발생률은 4.0% (95% 신뢰 구간[confidence interval, CI], 0.98-10.76%)였다. 진단 시 우려되는 특징이 없는 158명의 환자에서 우려되는 특징의 누적 발생률은 24개월 시점에 5.1% (95% CI, 2.37-9.28%)였고, 96개월 시점에 11.2% (95% CI, 6.34-17.53%)였다. 우려되는 특징의 발생은 분지형 췌관내 유두상점액종양 추정 군(p=0.102)과 75세 미만 환자(p=0.463) 에서 더 낮았으나, 이러한 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않았다. 특히, 75세 이상 환자 군에서는 2년이 지난 이후 우려되는 특징은 발생하지 않았다. 결론: 저위험 췌장 낭종 환자에서 췌장암 및 우려되는 특징의 누적 발생률은 현저히 낮았다. 또한, 첫 2년 동안 변화가 없는 고령 환자의 경우 감시를 중단하는 것을 고려할 수 있다.
Hydrothermal and ultrasonic processes were used in this study to synthesize a single-atom Cu anchored on t-BaTiO3. The resulting material effectively employs vibration energy for the piezoelectric (PE) catalytic degradation of pollutants. The phase and microstructure of the sample were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and it was found that the sample had a tetragonal perovskite structure with uniform grain size. The nanomaterial achieved a considerable increase in tetracycline degradation rate (approximately 95 % within 7 h) when subjected to mechanical vibration. In contrast, pure BaTiO3 demonstrated a degradation rate of 56.7 %. A significant number of piezoinduced negative charge carriers, electrons, can leak out to the Cu-doped BaTiO3 interface due to Cu’s exceptional conductivity. As a result, a single-atom Cu catalyst can facilitate the separation of these electrons, resulting in synergistic catalysis. By demonstrating a viable approach for improving ultrasonic and PE materials this research highlights the benefits of combining ultrasonic technology and the PE effect.
Bovine rotavirus (BRV) is one of the common gastrointestinal diseases that can occur in calves, causing severe diarrhea. This study was conducted to investigate the effects of oral administration of single-domain antibodies, single variable domain of heavy chain of HCAb (VHH), on the prevention and treatment of rotavirus-induced diarrhea in calves. Thirty calves were divided into five experimental groups (negative control, positive control, group A, group B and group C). Except for the negative control group, the experimental groups were inoculated with BRV on the 4th day after birth. The VHH supplementation groups were fed with a substitute milk containing different concentrations of VHH (1%, 2.5% and 7.5%). Changes in body weight, clinical symptoms, serum antibodies, and virus detection in feces were observed for a total of 10 days in each experimental group. The results showed a higher survival rate in the VHH supplementation groups compared to the positive control group. Clinical symptoms caused by rotavirus were alleviated in the VHH supplementation groups. The detection rate of rotavirus in feces also decreased. Gross findings indicated that the severity of disease in the VHH supplementation groups was milder than that in the positive control group. Therefore, VHH could be proposed as a useful alternative for the prevention and treatment of rotavirus-induced diarrhea in calves.
본 연구는 아유르베다 체질의 불안과 우울 치유 모래상자 단일 사례연구이다. 본 연구의 대상은 바따체질 유형의 중년여성으로 불안과 우울을 가지고 있었다. 본 연구는 기관생명 윤리위원회(IRB)의 심사를 거쳐 승인(승인번호: 8223-202311-HR-018-01)을 받고 실시되었으 며, 2024년 2월 6일∼ 4월 23일까지 주 1회 50분간 총 12회기로 실시하였다. 연구참여자는 초기에 신경성질환이 자주 생기는 바따체질 유형으로 정서적 불안정감과 우울감이 높았으 며 남편에 대한 불신감이 팽배되어 이혼을 할 만큼 분노가 내재 되어 있었다. 또한 어릴적 부모로부터 불안정 애착을 경험하여 자존감이 낮고 자신의 미래에 대해 비관적인 정서가 내재 된 양상을 보였다. 그러나 꾸준한 모래상자를 통해 우울척도가 47점에서 15점으로 낮 아지면서 우울감 감소로 나타났다. 또한 후반에는 자기자신을 긍정적으로 느끼고 스스로 감정표현을 하면서 남편의 폭력에 대한 적극적인 대처방안을 찾는 등 심적변화가 개선된 것으로 나타났다. 결론적으로 신경성 질환이 자주 생기는 아유르베다 바따체질 유형은 모 래상자를 통해 불안감과 우울감이 감소되었으며 정서적 안정감이 향상되어 가족관계에도 원만함으로 나타났다.
Exploring highly efficient, and low-cost oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) catalysts is extremely vital for the commercial application of advanced energy storage and conversion devices. Herein, a series of graphene-like C2N supported TMx@C2N, (TM = Fe, Co, Ni, and Cu, x = 1, 2) single- and dual-atom catalysts are designed. Their catalytic performance is systematically evaluated by means of spin-polarized density functional theory (DFT) computations coupled with hydrogen electrode model. Regulating metal atom and pairs can widely tune the catalytic performance. The most promising ORR/OER bifunctional activity can be realized on Cu2@ C2N with lowest overpotential of 0.46 and 0.38 V for ORR and OER, respectively. Ni2@ C2N and Ni@C2N can also exhibit good bifunctional activity through effectively balancing the adsorption strength of intermediates. The correlation of reaction overpotential with adsorption free energy is well established to track the activity and reveal the activity origin, indicating that catalytic activity is intrinsically governed by the adsorption strength of reaction intermediates. The key to achieve high catalytic activity is to effectively balance the adsorption of multiple reactive intermediates by means of the synergetic effect of suitably screened bimetal atoms. Our results also demonstrate that lattice strain can effectively regulate the adsorption free energies of reaction intermediates, regarding it as an efficient strategy to tune ORR/OER activity. This study could provide a significant guidance for the discovery and design of highly active noble-metal-free carbon-based ORR/OER catalysts.
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) have a strong and stable near-infrared (nIR) fluorescence that can be used to selectively detect target analytes, even at the single molecule level, through changes in either their fluorescence intensity or emission peak wavelength. SWNTs have been employed as NIR optical sensors for detecting a variety of analytes. However, high costs, long fabrication times, and poor distributions limit the current methods for immobilizing SWNT sensors on solid substrates. Recently, our group reported a protocol for SWNT immobilization with high fluorescence yield, longevity, fluorescence distribution, and sensor response, unfortunately this process takes 5 days to complete. Herein we report an improved method to immobilize SWNT sensors that only takes 2 days and results in higher fluorescence intensity while maintaining a high level of SWNT distribution. We performed surface morphology and chemical composition tests on the original and new synthesis methods and compared the sensor response rates. The development of this new method of attaching SWNT sensors to a platform allows for creation of a sensing system in just 2 days without sacrificing the advantageous characteristics of the original, 5-day platforms.
Traditional medicine and herbal remedies are gaining popularity worldwide, comprising a significant portion of healthcare research, advancements, and market demand. Growing scientific evidence supports their substantial efficacy as pharmaceutical ingredients and dietary supplements in preventive healthcare. When developing pharmaceuticals, it is crucial to ensure that ingredients are free from side effects and toxicity in order to prioritize safety. Geckos, known as shou gong, are a diverse group of lizards that are widely utilized for treating various diseases in Korean Medicine. This study was conducted to assess the potential acute toxicity of a water extract Gekko gecko by a single oral dose in Sprague-Dawley rats. Twenty rats of each sex were randomly assigned to four groups (5 rats each). Test articles were administrated once by oral gavage to rats at dose levels of 0, 500, 1,000, or 2,000 mg/kg body weight. Mortality, changes of body weight, and clinical signs of gross observation were monitored for 14 days after dosing. At the end of a 14-day observation period, all animals were sacrificed and complete macroscopic and hematological examinations were performed. There was no dead animal or test article-related effect on clinical signs, body weight, or gross finding. Other specific changes were not found between control and treated groups in hematology. Results showed no adverse effect at a dose of 500, 1,000, or 2,000 mg/kg in rats. The minimal lethal dose was considered to be over 2,000 mg/kg body weight in rats.
We examine a single machine scheduling problem with step-improving jobs in which job processing times decrease step-wisely over time according to their starting times. The objective is to minimize total completion time which is defined as the sum of completion times of jobs. The total completion time is frequently considered as an objective because it is highly related to the total time spent by jobs in the system as well as work-in-progress. Many applications of this problem can be observed in the real world such as data gathering networks, system upgrades or technological shock, and production lines operated with part-time workers in each shift. Our goal is to develop a scheduling algorithm that can provide an optimal solution. For this, we present an efficient branch and bound algorithm with an assignment-based node design and tight lower bounds that can prune branch and bound nodes at early stages and accordingly reduce the computation time. In numerical experiments well designed to consider various scenarios, it is shown that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing method and can solve practical problems within reasonable computation time.
본 논문에서는 충격파 형태의 폭발 하중을 받는 부재의 소성 범위를 고려한 SDOF 해석의 수정계수를 개발하였다. SDOF 해석의 수 정계수는 MDOF 해석 결과 값을 비교하여 도출하였다. SDOF 해석에 영향을 미치는 매개변수로 부재의 경계조건, 폭발 하중 지속시 간과 고유주기 비를 선정하였다. 수정계수는 탄성 하중-질량 변환 계수를 기준으로 산정하였다. 수정계수 곡선은 상한, 하한 매개변수 경계 사이에 있도록 타원 방정식을 이용하여 도출하였다. 서로 다른 단면과 경계조건을 가지는 예제에 수정계수를 적용한 결과 SDOF 해석의 오차율이 15%에서 3%로 감소하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 수정계수를 적용하여 SDOF 해석의 정확도를 높임에 따라 폭발 해석 에 널리 활용될 수 있다.
본 연구는 1인 가구구성원과 다인 가구구성원 간에 주거환경 만족도 차이를 규명하고, 반려동물이 1인 가구구성원의 주거환경 만족에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 검증하는 것이다. 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 ‘2022년 서울서베이 가구주조사’ 원시 데이터로부터 자료를 수집하였다. 그리고 SPSS 21.0을 활용하여 빈도분석, 기술통계분석, 상관관계분석, T- 검정, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 주거환경 만족도는 1인 가구구성원 보 다 다인 가구구성원이 더 높았다. 둘째, 1인 가구구성원의 경우 반려동물을 소유할수록 주거환경 만족도가 증가하였다. 셋째, 1인 가구구성원의 경우 반려동물(개, 고양이 제외) 수가 증가할수록 주거환경 만족도가 감소하였다. 연구결과에 근거하여 1인 가구구성원의 주거환경 만족도 향상을 위한 방안으로써 개나 고양이와 같은 반려동물 소유의 필요성을 제안하였다.
The n-type Bi2-xSbxTe3 compounds have been of great interest due to its potential to achieve a high thermoelectric performance, comparable to that of p-type Bi2-xSbxTe3. However, a comprehensive understanding on the thermoelectric properties remains lacking. Here, we investigate the thermoelectric transport properties and band characteristics of n-type Bi2-xSbxTe3 (x = 0.1 – 1.1) based on experimental and theoretical considerations. We find that the higher power factor at lower Sb content results from the optimized balance between the density of state effective mass and nondegenerate mobility. Additionally, a higher carrier concentration at lower x suppresses bipolar conduction, thereby reducing thermal conductivity at elevated temperatures. Consequently, the highest zT of ~ 0.5 is observed at 450 K for x = 0.1 and, according to the single parabolic band model, it could be further improved by ~70 % through carrier concentration tuning.
Background: Single-leg squat (SLS)s are commonly used as assessment tool and closed kinetic exercises are useful for assessing performance of the lower extremities. Pronated feet are associated with foot pressure distribution (FPD) during daily activities. Objects: To compare the FPD during SLSs between groups with pronated and normal feet. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 30 participants (15 each in the pronated foot and control groups) are recruited in this study. The foot posture index was used to distinguish between the pronated foot and control groups. The Zebris FDM (Zebris Medical GmbH) stance analysis system was used to measure the FPD on the dominant side during a SLS, which was divided into three phases. A two-way mixed-model ANOVA was used to identify significant differences in FPD between and within the two groups. Results: In the hallux, the results of the two-way mixed-model ANOVAs revealed a significant difference between the group and across different phases (p < 0.05). The hallux, and central forefoot were significantly different between the group (p < 0.05). Moreover, significant differences across different phases were observed in the hallux, medial forefoot, central forefoot, lateral forefoot, and rearfoot (p < 0.05). The post hoc t-tests were conducted for the hallux and forefoot central regions. In participants with pronated foot, the mean pressure was significantly greater in hallux and significantly lower, in the central forefoot during the descent and holding phases. Conclusion: SLSs are widely used as screening tests and exercises. These findings suggest that individuals with pronated feet should be cautious to avoid excessive pressure on the hallux during the descent-to-hold phase of a SLS.
This study was conducted to prepare a plan for the controlling indoor microclimate environment using natural ventilation for the single-span plastic greenhouses, which account for about 83.8% of the total area of horticultural greenhouses in South Korea. The changes of indoor air temperature and relative humidity according to the side opening height were experimentally compared and analyzed in the experimental greenhouse. As the side opening height was changed to 30, 70, and 110cm, the indoor and outdoor temperature differences were found to be 14.0, 10.1, and 7.7℃, respectively. The indoor and outdoor relative humidity differences were found to be -15.7, -12.5, and -11.1%, respectively. These results were verified for statistical significance by ANOVA. When the variable breadth of the outdoor temperature was 6.9℃, the indoor temperature breadths were 14.5, 12.3, and 9.0℃, and when the outdoor relative humidity breadth was 24%, the indoor relative humidity breadths were 31.2, 28.0, and 23.8%, respectively. It was analyzed that as the side opening height is increased, the indoor temperature and relative humidity become similar to the outdoor environment. This is because the air is mixed by active indoor-outdoor air movement of greenhouses with natural ventilation. The results indicated that the proper opening and closing of side openings is necessary for the stable indoor microclimate environment control of plastic greenhouses.
In this study, various pre-treatment methods were evaluated for microalgae separation. These methods aimed to facilitate safe, rapid, and cost-effective online imaging for real-time observation and cell counting. As pre-treatment techniques, heating, chemical hydrolysis, heating combined with chemical hydrolysis, and sonication were employed. The effectiveness of these methods was evaluated in the context of online imaging quality through experimentation on cultivated microalgae (Chlorella vulgaris and Scenedesmus quadricauda). The chemical treatment method was found to be inappropriate for improving image acquisition. The heating pre-treatment method exhibited a drawback of prolonged cell dispersion time. Additionally, the heating combined with chemical hydrolysis method was confirmed to have the lowest dispersion effect for Chlorella vulgaris. Conversely, ultrasonication emerged as a promising technique for microalgae separation in terms of repeatability and reproducibility. This study suggests the potential for selecting optimal pre-treatment methods to effectively operate real-time online monitoring devices, paving the way for future research and applications in microalgae cultivation and imaging.
전기 캐비닛은 병원 및 발전소와 같은 중요 시설물에서 운영과 관리를 위한 시스템 기기를 보관한 다. 지진과 같은 극한하중 하에서 중요 시설물은 지속적으로 운영 및 제어되어야 하기 때문에 전기 캐 비닛의 안전성은 평가되고 확보되어야 한다. 하지만 실험적 연구만으로 다양한 유형의 전기 캐비닛에 대한 내진성능 평가를 수행하는 것은 많은 제약이 있다. 따라서 다양한 연구자들은 전기 캐비닛의 유 한요소 모델을 구축하고 내진성능 평가를 수행하였다. 유한요소 모델은 beam-stick 요소를 기반으로 구축되거나 3차원 shell 요소를 기반으로 구축되어왔다. Beamk-stick 요소 기반 및 3차원 shell 요소 기반의 유한요소 모델에 대한 전체거동에 대한 비교를 수행한 사례는 있으나 국부거동에 대한 동적응 답을 비교한 연구사례는 없다. 전기 캐비닛은 내부에 시스템 기기가 보관되므로 내부의 국부거동 기반 의 내부응답을 포착할 수 있어야한다. 따라서 본 연구는 단문형 전기 캐비닛에 대한 beam-stick 요소 및 3차원 shell요소를 기반으로 유한요소 모델을 구축하고 동일한 높이에서 가속도 응답을 비교하였다. 결과적으로 beam-stick 요소 기반의 3차원 유한요소 모델은 전기 캐비닛 내부 응답 스펙트럼을 정확 히 예측할 수 없기 때문에 내부 응답 스펙트럼을 위해서는 3차원 shell요소 기반의 상세 유한요소 모 델을 사용해야 한다.
This study evaluated the risk of single and combined exposure to microplastics in zebrafish (Danio rerio) through biomarkers, such as survival rate, excretion rate, and histological alterations of organ systems. The experimental groups were the control (Cont.), single microplastics exposure group (MPs, 1.83%/fish total weight (g)), the copper group (Cu, 21.6 μg L-1), and a group with combined exposure to MPs and copper (MPs*Cu). The experiment was conducted with individual exposure (7 days) for MP excretion rate analysis and group exposure (14 days) for biomarker analysis. The daily excretion rate of MPs tended to decrease in a time-dependent manner. The copper concentration in the body was not significantly different between single and combined copper exposure. The degeneration of mucous cells in the skin, capillary dilation of the gill lamella, increased intestinal mucous, hepatocyte hypertrophy, and the degeneration of glomeruli and renal tubules were observed in all exposure groups. These histological alterations showed the highest tendency in the MPs*Cu group. In this study, the changes in biomarkers were attributed to the single effect of copper or the combined effect of copper and MPs rather than being solely influenced by MPs.
본 연구는 기공 수련을 통한 기흉 치료의 단일사례를 중심으로 연구하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 기 흉에 관한 기공 수련의 효과를 제1자적 관점의 입장에서 밝히는 것이다. 기공 수련은 시간, 횟수, 강 도 등을 연구자의 체력에 맞춰가면서 가능한 한 매일 하였다. 연구자가 기공 수련을 하면서 나타난 몸과 마음의 변화들을 대부분 기록했으며, 그 결과를 수련 전후의 변화와 병원에서 받은 진단에 따라 분석하였다. 연구결과, 수련 전과 후의 변화가 범주화를 통해서 기공 수련이 기흉에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다고 할 수 있었다. 기공의 삼조를 통해서 기흉의 가슴통증, 호흡곤란, 정서불안에 도움이 될 수 있을 것이라 기대한다. 그리고 몸의 자연치유력을 최대한 깨워서 통합적으로 해결함으로써 이러한 효 과가 나타났다고 생각된다. 부지런한 기공 수련을 통해서 기흉의 정상 판정을 받았고, 체력 회복과 재 발 예방에도 많은 도움이 되었다. 기공 수련의 효과는 몸 · 마음 · 사회 적응력 문제의 통합적 해결로 나타났다. 이러한 전인치유에 기흉 치료도 포함되는 것이다.
