Both employee satisfaction and loyalty play an important role in increasing the business performances of organizations in the service industry. However, the influence of TQM practices on employee satisfaction and employee loyalty has not been examined in the ICT service supply chain. This study aimed to investigate the impact of five total quality management (TQM) practices on employee satisfaction and employee loyalty in Korean ICT customer service and retail distribution organizations. Based on an empirical study of 578 respondents in a Korean ICT service company, the study examined the hypothesized relationships among TQM practices, employee satisfaction, and employee loyalty. Using structural equations modeling, it is found that TQM practices are significantly related to employee satisfaction, whereas the latter in turn influences employee loyalty. The results of analysis suggest that the ICT customer service and retail distribution organizations should concentrate on enhancing employee satisfaction of their TQM practices and creating a people-satisfied job environment.

It is well known that ISO 9001 and TQM have significant effects on business success. We analyzed the effects of ISO 9001 requirements and TQM on financial performance with Structural Equation Modeling. Hypotheses are proposed and tested based on existing beliefs, proposition and prior research concerning quality. Survey data were collected from 291 manufacturing companies with ISO 9001 certifications. The data show that ISO 9001:2008 requirements have significant positive direct effects on TQM practices, but do not have positive direct effects on financial performance. As expected, TQM has significant positive direct effects on financial performance. One of the important results is that efforts to meet ISO 9001:2008 requirements enhance TQM practices which, in turn, helps to improve financial performance. Findings in this study support the claims that ISO 9001:2008 would be a good step toward total quality management and is a meaningful component of TQM.

Previous studies on the service quality show that most of them focused on students, particularly on the improvement of their satisfaction. Therefore the study tried to measure the satisfaction degrees of teachers, so that it might seek ways for the advancement of the teaching environment and teaching service quality, for which it has utilized the Performance Model developed by Hung et al.(2003). For the purpose, surveys were conducted on 303 teachers of elementary schools and the collected data were analysed with SPSS statistic programme and the Performance Model. As a result a total of 18 items are mentioned as those to be improved. They include : Education Environment, Workplace Conditions, Performance Reward, Budget Arrangement, Welfare System. They are closely related with the two items of Performance Reward and Welfare System. In conclusion, it is confirmed that teachers who belong to the provincial office of education in Gyeongsangbuk-do want the same level of performance reward with that of the other professional groups and they also want to enjoy such a welfare as academic fees for the children who studies at colleges and graduate schools. Therefore it is necessary to improve such complaints that it would give satisfaction to the teachers, the internal customers of the education organization.

This study aims to examine the relationships between total quality management(TQM) practices and operational performance perceived by employees who are in different organization types, R&D organization and Non-R&D organization in manufacturing companies. Operational performance is defined as the degree of operation efficiency in the perspective of quality, delivery, and cost. Our study showed that the degree of TQM practice has significant difference in organization type. In case of R&D organization, the categories of customer focus and process management were the strongest significant predictors of operational performance. Therefore, the optimal TQM practices for R&D organization can be obtained in consideration of customer focus and process management.

The objective of this study is to prioritize the Total Quality Management (TQM) factors based on fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in Vietnamese supporting industries. Through an in-depth literature review, eight criteria were identified. These criteria were then divided into 32 sub-criteria. The fuzzy AHP is used to determine the percent weightings of eight categories of performance criteria that were identified via a review of the quality-management literature. These criteria include management commitment, role of the quality department, training and education, continuous improvement, quality policies, quality data and reporting, communication to improve quality, and customer satisfaction orientation. An empirical analysis of the criteria of each stage using the fuzzy AHP methodology and the expert opinion of quality management are used to evaluate the percent weightings of the criteria and sub-criteria that are synonymous with TQM implementation. The results showed that management commitment is the most critical factor; among sub-criteria, supports and responsibilities of top management is the most important. The study also identified the rank order of critical success factors of TQM. The findings suggest a generic hierarchy model for organizations to prioritize the critical factors and formulate strategies for implementing TQM in supporting industries, as well as other industries in Vietnam.
