        Korea's Corona 19(COVID-19) quarantine, referred to as 'K-Quarantine', is a globally recognized quarantine system that has achieved both conflicting goals: health and economy. The quarantine system represented by 3T(Test-Trace-Treat) is not a method of blocking an area, but a method of screening and treating infected and non-infected persons. The screening center, one of the key elements of this screening treatment system, has evolved to suit the timing and situation of COVID-19, and has succeeded in initial response by conducting large-scale tests quickly and safely. By analyzing the evolution of screening centers that produced such significant results from a problem-solving point of view, it proved its meaning as a practical success case of creative problem- solving. In addition, the usefulness of TRIZ (Russian abbreviation of Theory of Solving Inventive Problem), a creative problem- solving theory, was confirmed through an analysis of actual verified cases of COVID-19 response. TRIZ is a problem-solving theory created by analyzing the regularity of invention patents, and is widely used not only in the technical field but also in the non-technical fields such as design, management, and education. The results of this study are expected to provide useful meaning and practical examples to researchers interested in system analysis and TRIZ application from a problem-solving perspective.

        In this study, the TRIZ methods were used to solve the main cause of the ink splashing phenomenon in a tattoo machine. To solve the ink splashing phenomenon that occurs when a tattoo machine is operated, a flow analysis of the needle unit was performed using ANSYS CFX V14.5. From the flow analysis result, it was confirmed that the ink splashing phenomenon of the tattoo machine can be supplemented by the hole leading to the outside to the needle unit of a tattoo machine. In order to diagnose the natural frequencies of the tattoo machine and the resonance phenomenon caused by the excitation of the motor, the natural frequency analysis was performed using the Abaqus/standard frequency analysis technique. From the results of the natural vibration analysis, it was confirmed that no resonance occurred. It is expected that it will contribute to improve the efficiency of the semi permanent cosmetic device with removable ink cartridge.

        The TRIZ is promoted by Altshuller of the former Soviet Union. It stands for the beginning of Russian Teoriya, Reshiniya, Izobretatelskikh, and Zadatch, which means theory, solution, invention and problem. The TRIZ problem solving method is a generalized method for the abstract area to find a concrete solution, while the approach of the existing problem solving methodologies directly finds solutions through trial and error for the problems that have occurred. The original TRIZ was spotlighted as a creative problem solving methodology. However, we are unable to distinguish between the 39 parameters of the approach methodology and the 40 inventive principles. In this study, we propose a methodology to apply the weighting to the parameters and the principle of the invention to improve the problem of TRIZ. For this purpose, this study proposes a methodology based on AHP and QFD among industrial engineering methodologies. This result suggests that future researchers will be able to suggest better decision - making methods.

        The background of this study is to establish a systematic development process for SSD(Solid State Drive) which is being watched as the next generation auxiliary memory device and to make stable production. In order to do so, we select the two products that have been developed and classify and analyze all defects generated in each product by type and process of defects. The root cause of the fault and its background were reflected in the contradiction matrix of TRIZ's technical contradiction, and the improvements suggested in the 40 inventive principles were reflected in the test case design methodology of each process. Finally, this study suggests a process optimization method for systematic development.

        The global small and mid-sized display market is changing from thin film transistor-liquid crystal display to organic light emitting diode (OLED). Reflecting these market conditions, the domestic and overseas display panel industry is making great effort to innovate OLED technology and incease productivity. However, current OLED production technology has not been able to satisfy the quality requirement levels by customers, as the market demand for OLED is becoming more and more diversified. In addition, as OLED panel production technology levels to satisfy customers’ requirement become higher, product quality problems are persistently generated in OLED deposition process. These problems not only decrease the production yield but also cause a second problem of deteriorating productivity. Based on these observations, in this study, we suggest TRIZ-based improvement of defects caused by glass pixel position deformation, which is one of quality deterioration problems in small and medium OLED deposition process. Specifically, we derive various factors affecting the glass pixel position shift by using cause and effect diagram and identify radical reasons by using XY-matrix. As a result, it is confirmed that glass heat distortion due to the high temperature of the OLED deposition process is the most influential factor in the glass pixel position shift. In order to solve the identified factors, we analyzed the cause and mechanism of glass thermal deformation. We suggest an efficient method to minimize glass thermal deformation by applying the improvement plan of facilities using contradiction matrix in TRIZ. We show that the suggested method can decrease the glass temperature change by about 23% through an experiment.

        Recently, corporate environment is faced with uncertainty that did not suffer in the past. In addition, as the supply chain was expanded and lengthened, the flow of information and material was complicated. Increase in complexity which amplifies the variability of the individual steps in supply chains further adds to the uncertainty. The bullwhip effect that refers the phenomenon where order variability increases as the orders move upstream in the supply chain became serious. The bullwhip effect is more and more important especially for the enterprise in the supply chain. So, there are many studies now since it was observed about 100 years ago. The aim of this paper is to analyze how to solve the bullwhip effect by using TRIZ (Teoriya Resheniya Izobretatelskikh Zadach). TRIZ is one of the most famous tools for creative solving that applied in many fields ranging from management as well as engineering. Among problems, the dilemma needs creative solutions that require handling the contradictions inherent in that. Among various kinds of problem solving techniques, TRIZ provides the concept of physical contradiction as a common problem solving principle. This study provides a simple process of solving problem explains a case of solving problem in the management field and shows the availability of theory in the inventory control. In accordance with the proposed solving process, the paper analyzes the bullwhip effect by applying the TRIZ tools and then identifies the solution directions. Next, the current studies are classified by the above analysis and important managerial concepts are proposed. Lastly, directions for future research on this area are suggested.

        The study proposes multiple TRIZ contradiction solution strategies for addressing PC (Physical Contradiction) and TC (Technical Contradiction) by implementing TRIZ cause-and-effect tree. The problem associated with TC of the ends is solved by PC of means which employs a causal relationship between causes and effects. The TRIZ contradiction solution strategies demonstrated in this research are classified into 3 types of combined strategy as follows: 1. To-Be PC and AS-Is PC, 2.To-Be PC and As-Is TC, 3.As-Is PC and To-Be TC. The combined strategy of To-Be PC and As-Is PC is similar to a divide-and-conquer technique. This strategy adopts parallel strategies using 4 separation principles in time, in space, between parts and the whole, and upon condition of two reversed-PCs. Moreover, its application elucidates the conflict relationship of two TCs from the study. The integrated 4 separation principles and 40 inventive principles present an effective synergy effect from the combination, and further addresses the problems in the TRIZ contradiction resolution strategies. Combined strategy of To-Be PC and As-Is TC implements the 40 inventive principles that To-Be PC of the means resolves the As-Is TC of the ends. Combined strategy of As-Is PC and To-Be TC also uses inventive principles to the As-Is PC of the means to solve the To-Be TC of the ends. In addition, propositional and logical relationship of necessary and sufficient conditions between TC and PC is used to support the validity of 3 TRIZ contradiction solution strategies. In addition, 3 other strategies of necessary and sufficient conditions validate the contraposition relationship of the truth table. This study discusses TRIZ case studies from National Quality Circle Contest from the years between 2011 and 2014 to provide the usage guidelines of TRIZ contradiction solutions for quality purposes. Examining analysis from the case studies and investigating combined strategies allows the users to obtain comprehensive understanding.

        creative innovation and an innovative problem-solving of industrial companies can be achieved by overcoming the challenges of technical and physical contradictions. The approaches to address conflicting and paradoxical problems, such as technical and physical contradictions have a crucial role in advancing the quality assessment for manufacturer and service provider. The term, technical contradiction, depicts the state that improvement of one ends of IFR (Ideal Final Result) leads to unfavorable condition of the other ends, and results in conflicting problem. Another type of contradictions that’s discussed in this study is a physical contradiction which is due to two mutually opposing states of the means of ends, and gives paradoxical situation. By integrating the means-ends chain perspectives, the physical contradiction that is a specifically root-causes, “means”, can be initially addressed to resolve the downstream problem of technical contradiction which represents a general and abstract goals, “ends”. This research suggests IFR resolution processes to handle both physical contradiction of means and technical contradiction of ends by employing causal relationship with IFR, effects and causes. n summary, the study represents three major processes that resolve such contradictions are demonstrated as follows: 1) Derivation of causal and hierarchical relationship among IFR, ends and means by considering CAED (Cause-And-Effect Diagram) and LT (Logic Tree). 2) Identification of causal relationship between physical contradiction and technical contradiction by using TPCT (TRIZ Physical Contradiction Tree) and TCD (Technical Contradiction Diagram). 3) Application of integrated TRIZ principles by classifying 40 inventive principles into 4 general conditions of the separation principle of mutually opposite states in space, in time, based on conditions, and between the parts and the whole. In order to validate the proof of proposed IFR resolution processes, the analysis of the TRIZ case studies from National Quality Circle Contest in the years, 2011 to 2014 have been proposed. The suggested guidelines that are built based on TRIZ principles can uniquely enhance the process of quality innovation and assessment for quality practitioners.

        Although companies have to concentrate on effort to save cost to survive competition, transportation costs are taking more portions in total sales costs due to globalization in the modern times. It is the reason why Transportation Management System TMS is getting more important. However, it is practically difficult for the system to fit to all of transportation environments and actually many problems are taking place with the system. Therefore, a new idea is necessary to solve such problems fundamentally rather than temporarily or superficially. To do so, if TRIZ, which is a theory that systematically establishes creative ideas on the basis of patent analysis, is employed, it can bring forth a guideline with some creative principles that can be applicable in drawing out innovative ideas based on conceptual shift. The present study aims to propose a methodology of how TRIZ should be applied to solve the problems that happen in TMS as a whole. Particularly, the study focuses on how to design customized TMS system that can be employed for each of different situations in a creative way.

        To maximize the operational efficiency of production and operations systems, Six Sigma and Lean Production System have been widely used. The main focus of Six Sigma is reducing variations, whereas that of Lean Production System is eliminating losses. To take advantage of the two approaches Six Sigma and Lean Production System was integrated into Lean Six Sigma, and the integrated approach has been used in recent years. In the implementation of Lean Six Sigma, the problems under consideration have often physical or technical contradictions which are difficult to be solved by conventional methods. To solve such contradictions TRIZ is useful in many cases. In this thesis, it is considered that how TRIZ can be applied to Lean Six Sigma. An integrated road-map of Lean Six Sigma and TRIZ is suggested and some cases are reviewed.
