        The research aimed to develop a high-efficiency plate-type heat exchanger for exhaust gas using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) thermal analysis based on the plate shape, and to identify the optimal shape. Following this, a water/air plate heat exchanger was manufactured, and its characteristics were studied experimentally. As the Re number increases on the gas (or air) side, the heat transfer rate increases significantly, whereas an increase in the Re number on the water side leads to a smaller increase in heat transfer. This is attributed to the larger convective heat resistance on the gas side, causing a substantial reduction in gas-side heat resistance as gas velocity increases, resulting in a considerable overall reduction in heat resistance. The fluid flow pressure drop showed similar results between the CFD calculations and experimental outcomes.

        PURPOSES : This study is aimed to economic analysis of the ferronickel slag pavement method carried out to suggest the necessity of developing ferronickel slag pavement technology. METHODS : A life cycle cost analysis of the application of the Ferronickel Slag pavement method and the cutting + overlay pavement method was performed to compare the economic indicators and greenhouse gas emissions for each pavement method. RESULTS : As a result of the analysis, regardless of the Ferronickel Slag mixing rate, if the common performance of the Ferronickel Slag pavement method is the same or superior to the existing pavement method, it is more economical than the existing pavement method. Furthermore, the lower the maintenance cost of the Ferronickel Slag pavement method, the higher the economic feasibility due to the high Ferronickel Slag mixing rate. Greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced from at least 9% to up to 53% through the application of the Ferronickel Slag pavement method, except for some scenario analysis results. CONCLUSIONS : This study provided that the Ferronickel Slag pavement method was superior to the existing pavement method in terms of economic and environmental aspects. Therefore, it was found that the objective justification of developing road pavement technology using Ferronickel Slag was secured.

        Engineered Barrier Systems (EBS) are a key element of deep geological repositories (DGR) and play an important role in safely isolating radioactive materials from the ecosystem. In the environment of a DGR, gases can be generated due to several factors, including canister corrosion. If the gas production rate exceeds the diffusion rate, pore pressures may increase, potentially inducing structural deterioration that impairs the function of the buffer material. Therefore, understanding the hydraulic-mechanical behavior of EBS due to gas generation is essential for evaluating the longterm stability of DGR. This study employed X-ray computed tomography (CT) technology to observe cracks created inside the buffer material after laboratory-scale gas injection experiments. After CT scanning, we identified cracks more clearly using an image analysis method based on machine learning techniques, enabling us to examine internal crack patterns caused by gas injection. In the samples observed in this study, no cracks were observed penetrating the entire buffer block, and it was confirmed that most cracks were created through the radial surface of the block. This is similar to the results observed in the LASGIT field experiment in which the paths of the gas migration were observed through the interface between the container and the buffer material. This study confirmed the applicability of high-resolution X-ray CT imaging and image analysis techniques for qualitative analysis of internal crack patterns and cracks generated by gas breakthrough phenomena. This is expected to be used as basic data and crack analysis techniques in future research to understand gas migration in the buffer material.

        The domestic shipbuilding industry is building high-value-added ships such as LNG and LPG, and the demand for natural gas, a clean energy source, is continuously increasing. Climate change, such as global warming, is occurring due to rising oil prices and excessive use of fossil fuels. To protect their homes from the changing environment, 121 countries announced intensive climate target policies to reduce carbon emissions to 0% by 2050. In this study, modeling and design were performed using SUS410 and SUS304L about the operating part of the Pilot valve based on the physical properties of the aluminum alloy used in the Pilot valve, a component of the gas pressure Regulating valve for LNG ships. Numerical We want to develop the optimal Pilot valve by comparing and analyzing the results using ANSYS, an analysis simulation program.

        수도권에 위치한 S매립장 내 3개의 매립장을 대상으로 매립가스 배출 및 주요 경로별 표면 발산과 관련된 분석을 하였다. 전체 매립가스 발생비율 10.9%인 LS1이 총 표면발산 비중은 49.4%를 차지하고 있었다. 3개 매립장에서의 메탄의 총 표면발산은 13.6 Nm3/min로서, LS1 8.4 Nm3/min (61.7%), LS2 4.0 Nm3/min(29.4%), LS3 1.2 Nm3/min(8.9%)이고, 발산경로별로는 상부 7.3 Nm3/min (53.2%), 사면 6.4 Nm3/min(46.7%), 다이크 0.02 Nm3/min(0.1%)이었다. 3개 매립장의 주요 배출경로 별 산화율은 다이크가 87.5%로 가장 크고, 상부 72.3%, 사면 71.8% 순이었다. 메탄을 기준으로 표면발 산 기여율은 매립장 별로 LS1이 전체의 61.7%로 가장 컸다. 주요 배출경로별로는 LS1의 사면이 전체의 41.7%, LS2의 상부 24.4%, LS1의 상부 20.0%로서 S매립장의 전체 메탄 표면발산량의 86.1%를 차지함 에 따라 향후 집중적인 관리가 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

        Some consumer goods containing radioactive substances are in circulation and used in everyday life. In accordance with the Nuclear Safety Act, consumer goods with radioactivity are regulated. However, since most consumer goods distributed in Korea have no information that can confirm the amount of radiation, it is necessary to analyze the radiation for safety regulation. Among these consumer goods, GTLS (Gaseous Tritium Light Source) contains gaseous tritium (tritium, written as 3H or T), which is a radioactive material. The gaseous composition ratio in GTLS was analyzed using a precision gas mass spectrometer (Thermo Fisher, model MAT 271). As a result of GTLS analysis, the H2, HD or H3 +(T) or 3He, HT or D2 or He, DT, and T2, which correspond to the mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) 2 to 6 and the air components were detected. In addition, substances corresponding to m/z=24 and m/z=21 were also detected. These were compared with pure CH4 and those fragmentation patterns. The ratios of CT4 (m/z = 24) to CT3 (m/z = 21) and CH4 (m/z = 16) to CH3 (m/z = 15) were compared and they agree within the measurement uncertainty. We also performed additional experiments to separate the water component in the GTLS samples, considering the possibility that the m/z = 21 to m/z = 24 region is tritium compounds based on H2O. Despite the removal of the water components, peaks were detected at m/z=21 and m/z=24. Therefore, we confirmed that the component of m/z = 24 in the GTLS sample was CT4.

        Spent nuclear fuels released from the reactor are stored in cooling pools and then stored in dry storage casks. During the transition from the wet storage to dry storage cask, a vacuum drying process is used to remove residual water in the cask. During the vacuum drying process, gas pressure is reduced to below 400 Pa to promote evaporation and water removal. KAERI is developing a PWR single assembly (PLUS7) test equipment to simulate the thermal flow in spent fuel assembly. In this study, the thermal conductivity of air at low pressure was derived to perform the thermal analysis of the canister in vacuum. In addition, thermal analyses were performed for the canister with backfill gases of helium, air, and a vacuum in the vertical orientation using the COBRA-SFS code. At low pressure, the thermal conductivity of air depends on pressure and temperature. The reduced thermal conductivity, kr (W/m-K) was calculated using the curve fit for air at reduced pressure in thin gaps presented in the General Electric Fluid Flow Handbook. 􀝇􀯥/􀝇􀬴 = 􀬵 􀬵􀬾 􀮼􀯍/􀯉􀰋 Where, k0 is the thermal conductivity at atmospheric pressure (W/m-K), P is the reduced (vacuum) pressure (Pa), δ is the gap size (m), T is the temperature (K), and C is the Lasance constant (7.657E-5 N/m-K). The thermal conductivity of air decreases as the pressure decreases. The reduced thermal conductivity of air at pressures of 400 Pa and 40 Pa was calculated to be 0.97 and 0.77, respectively. For the analysis in vacuum, no enhancement of the convective heat transfer was assumed (Nu=1.0). For the helium backfill, the peak cladding temperature was the lowest and the axial temperature profile was the flattest due to the higher thermal conductivity and lower density of the helium. For the vacuum backfill, the peak cladding temperature was the highest and temperature gradient was the sharpest due to the only radiative heat transfer effect in the fuel assembly.

        Instead of using expensive platinum, carbon anodes could potentially be utilized in the process of reducing oxides in LiCl-Li2O molten salt at a high cell potential. However, this high potential leads to the generation of a mixture of anodic gases containing toxic and corrosive gases such as chlorine (Cl2), oxygen (O2), carbon monoxide (CO), and carbon dioxide (CO2). To better understand this gas mixture, we conducted real-time analyses of the gases generated on the carbon anode during the TiO reduction reaction in the molten salt at 650°C, using a MAX-300-LG gas analyzer. Our results indicate that the ratio of CO/O2/CO2/Cl2 in the gas mixture is significantly influenced by the composition of the salt, and that removing the sources of oxygen ions in the salt increases the likelihood of generating toxic and corrosive Cl2 gas.

        A new method for chemical separation of light rare-earth elements (LREEs) using gas-pressurized extraction chromatography (GPEC) is described. GPEC is a microscale column chromatography system that features a constant flow of solvents (0.1 mL/min), which is created by pressurized nitrogen gas. The separation column with a Teflon tubing was packed with LN resin. We evaluated the separation of Ba, La, Ce, and Nd using various elution solvents. Here, we applied the natural isotopes of LREEs (La-139, Ce-140, and Nd-144) and barium (Ba-138) instead of radioactive isotopes for the preliminary test and reducing unnecessary radioactive waste. The column reproducibility of the proposed GPEC system ranged from 2.4% to 4.9% with RSDs of recoveries, and the column-to-column reproducibility ranged from 3.1% to 6.3% with RSDs of recoveries. This proposed GPEC method provides robust analysis and facilitates production of lesser chemical wastes and faster separation owing to the use of low solvent volume compared to traditional column chromatography.

        PURPOSE: 본 연구의 목적은 둥근어깨자세(round shoulder posture)와 전방머리자세 (forward head posture)에 따라 폐활량 측정과 산소포화도 및 횡격막 움직임 크기의 상관관계를 알아보는 것이다. METHODS: 연구의 대상은 만성 심장질환 및 호흡기 질환을 가지고 있거나, 정신적, 인지적 장애가 있는 자, 척추옆굽음증(scoliosis)이 있는 자, 목과 갈비뼈 손상이나 수술 병력이 없는 50명의 자원한 사람으로 선정되었습니다. 통계분석은 피어슨(Pearson)의 상관분석을 실시한다. RESULTS:둥근어깨자세는 FVC,FEV1,FEV1/FVC%,PEF 에 대해 양의 상관계수를 보이고 이중 PEF가 가장 상관성이 높았다(p<.05). 횡격막 움직임의 크기(DMD)에 대해서도 양의 상관계수를 보였다. 그러나 TAD(table acromion distance)와는 음의 상관관계를, SPO2는 PM/C7~acro, TAD(table acromion distance) 둘다 음의 상관관계가 나타났다(P>.05). 전방머리자세는 CVA와 CRA 모두 FVC,FEV1,FEV1/FVC, PEF 비율에 대해 유의한 상관관계가 없다(p>.05). CRA와 DMD에는 유의한 차이가 있는 음의 상관관계가 나타났지만(p<.05), CVA와 DMD에는 유의한 상관관계가 발견되지 않았다. 또한 CVA와 CRA 모두 SPO2에 대해 유의한 상관관계가 없다(p>.05). CONLUSION: 결론적으로 전방머리자세의 각도와 둥근어깨 자세에 따라 폐활량과 횡격막 움직임에 영향을 미친다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 하지만 좀더 많은 인원과 대상자들의 경직된 자세에 대해 제한할 방법을 추가적으로 찾을 필요가 있다.

        2015년 ‘파리협정’ 및 2021년 ‘기후위기 대응을 위한 탄소중립·녹색성장 기본법’ 제정에 따라 2030년 국가 온 실가스 감축목표(NDC, 2018년 대비 40% 감축) 달성을 위해서는 지자체별 적절한 온실가스 감축 목표 설정과 이행 노 력이 필수적이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 충청북도 지역을 중심으로 1990-2018년 까지 온실가스 배출 현황을 시계열로 분석하였고, 2030년 국가 온실가스 감축목표와 시나리오를 바탕으로 충청북도의 2030년 온실가스 감축 목표를 제안하였 다. 또한 감축 목표 달성을 위해 BAU 대비 장래 배출량을 고려한 2030년까지의 감축 잠재량을 추정하였다. 그 결과, 첫째, 우리나라와 충북의 온실가스 배출량은 1990년 이래 인구 및 경제 성장에 따라 증가해온 것으로 나타났으며, 2018년 국가 대비 충북의 온실가스 배출량은 3.9%로 매우 낮은 편이였고, 시멘트 및 석회 생산, 제조업 및 건설업, 수 송업 등 연료연소에 의한 배출이 주를 이루는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 2030년 NDC 및 2050 탄소중립 시나리오를 반 영한 2030년 충청북도 온실가스 감축 목표는 2018년 대비 40.2%로 설정하였다. 이에 장래 배출량을 고려할 경우 목표 달성을 위한 감축 잠재량은 2018년 대비 46.8%인 것으로 추정되었다. 상기 결과는 국가 및 지자체의 온실가스 감축 목표 달성을 위해서는 분야별 온실가스 감축 수단을 통한 감축 잠재량을 충족하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 의미한다. 또 한 2030년 NDC 및 2050 탄소중립 시나리오 달성을 위해 충북을 포함한 국가 및 각 지자체는 온실가스 장래 배출량 을 연도별로 추정하여 매년 감축 목표와 감축 잠재량을 구하고 이를 삭감할 수 있는 구체적인 감축 수단을 마련할 필 요가 있음을 말해준다.

        The present study analyzed the pore formation and development process in carbon black that was activated by CO2 gas and the effect of the burn-off (BO) ratio on the process, particularly based on changes in the surface shape and internal microstructure. The activation process was performed as follows. Carbon blacks were injected into a horizontal tube furnace when the inside temperature reached 1000 °C. Carbon black samples with different BOs, i.e., 7.2%, 15.4%, 30.4%, 48.2%, 59.9%, and 83.2%, were prepared by varying the activation time. The microstructure of the activated samples was observed and examined using SEM and TEM. The results showed that pore passages were first created on the surface of the primary particles of the carbon black, and then the inner portion of the carbon black with a lower degree of crystallinity started to be activated, thereby causing inner pores to be formed. These inner pores then started to grow and coalesce into larger pores, thereby causing the crystallite layers in the inner portion of the carbon black to be activated. The changes in the microstructure of the carbon black during the activation reaction were attributable to the carbon black manufacturing process, in which the nucleation and growth of the primary particles of the carbon black occurred within a very short period of time. Thus, the crystallization of the inner portion was suppressed, and therefore, the degree of crystallinity was lower in the inner portion than in the outer portion.

        Gas springs applied to various industrial fields are generally composed of a cylinder, a piston rod, a cover, and a seal mount. Because of the thin wall of the cylinder, small gas springs are manufactured using a roller forming process that presses the cylinder wall into a groove of cover in the cylinder. In this study, finite element analysis and process design of roller forming are performed to systematically manufacture the small gas spring and develop a roller forming machine. In order to perform roller forming analysis, tensile tests of structural steel pipe are performed and mechanical properties are analyzed. Roller forming process parameters such as radius and depth of roller grooves are derived using the incompressible condition of plastic deformation theory and the results of finite element roller forming analysis. Using the derived roller shape, a roller forming machine is developed and prototypes of the small gas spring are manufactured. Finally, the dimensional accuracy of the manufactured gas spring prototypes is analyzed through three-dimensional shape measurement.

        LNG 운반선은 선체와 화물창이 일체형인 멤브레인 타입을 적용한 대형선을 중심으로 건조되어 왔으나, 최근 친환경 연료인 LNG의 수요 증가 및 LNG 벙커링 인프라 확대로, 중소형 운반선에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중소형 LNG 운반선에 IMO B 형식 탱크를 적용하고 설계의 안정성 및 적합성을 검증하는 것을 목표로 하였고, B 형식 탱크를 적용하는 경우 필수적으로 수반되는 파괴역학 기반의 균열 진전 해석 및 가스 누출을 대비하여 설치되는 부분 2차 방벽의 크기의 결정을 위한 내용을 소개하였다. LNG 운반선 적용에 적용되는 국제 규정인 IGC 코드를 이용하여 설계 수명동안 균열 진전 해석에 적용될 응력 분포를 산정하는 방법을 제시하였고, Paris 법칙과 British Standard 7910 (BS 79110) 기반의 균열 진전 해석 프로그램을 개발하여 표면 균열 진전 해석을 수행하였다. 다음으로 2차 방벽의 크기를 결정하기 위하여, 초기 관통 균열의 크기를 가정할 수 있는 방법론을 제시하고, 균열 감지 후 회항 가능 기간인 15일 동안의 관통 균열 진전 해석을 수행하여 국제 규정에서 요구하는 B 형식 화물 탱크의 안정성 및 적합성을 검증하였다. 더 정확한 피로 균열 진전 해석을 위하여 코드 기반에 더하여 직접 해석을 통한 해석 절차 개발 및 검증이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

        다양한 산업에서 강조되고 있는 정비의 중요성은 각 분야에 다양한 정비전략을 적용하도록 만들었다. 해양산업 역시 그에 따른 정비전략의 변화가 있었으나 타 산업 대비 그 속도가 느려 실제 적용이 되지 않은 채 과거 시행되고 있던 방식을 유지하는 경우가 많다. 특히 선박은 기존에 행해왔던 방식의 정비전략을 사용하고 있는 편이며 해상의 조건에서 선박은 새로운 정비전략의 개발을 필요로 하고있다. 이에 선박예지정비모델은 기기의 정비가 필요한 시점을 예지하여 조치할 수 있는 정비전략으로서 선박이 항해 중에 처할 수 있는 정비 관련 위험요소들을 줄여 주는 모델이다. 본 연구는 선박예지정비모델의 개발을 위한 연구 중의 하나로서, LNG선박 입거사양서의 텍스트 데이터 분석을 통한 결과를 원문의 내용을 바탕으로 해석해보았다. 공통된 정비항목 조합을 도출하여 선박 내 다른 기기들 사이에 작용하고 있는 상호연관성을 발견하고 이를 앞으로 개발될 선박예지정비모델에 적용하고자 한다.
