        This study investigated the effects of exposure frequency, depth of processing, and activity repetition types on vocabulary learning. In total, 78 South Korean fifth-grade students were divided into four conditions. Students in each condition were asked to read a passage with four of the eight target words (exposure: four times) and the other four words (exposure: once) for three days, and to perform the vocabulary activities assigned to each condition. According to the results, exposure frequency and activity repetition type had significant effects on vocabulary learning. Activity repetition type also had a significant interaction effect with exposure frequency and depth of processing. Notably, presenting a word 12 times (4x3) in reading intervals had a more positive impact on vocabulary learning than presenting it three times (1x3), particularly when different vocabulary activities were repeated. Meanwhile, when the same activity was repeated, an activity with a higher depth of processing was more effective for vocabulary learning.

        This study aims to empirically investigate effects of motion repetition and external load according to joint motion on discomfort through an experiment. Eighteen college students (female: 9; male: 9) participated in an experiment measuring perceived discomfort using the Borg CR10. Joint(wrist, elbow, shoulder and trunk) motion, its repetition and external load were adopted as independent variables. The results showed that all three independent variables were statistically significant on discomfort. Participants’ sex also significantly affected discomfort obtained in the experiment. While the interactions of joint motion and repetition, and joint motion and external load were not significant at α = 0.05, that of motion repetition and external load was significant. Based on the experimental results, four regression equations by the joints involved were presented, which could be used as a tool for evaluating postural loads by the joints. It may be postulated that based on the results of this study, scoring systems of RULA and REBA, and those of OWAS and REBA underestimates effects of motion repetition and external load, respectively. It is expected that the results of this study will be used as a basic data for developing an observational method properly reflecting the effects of motion repetition and external load.

        이 논문은 미술가 박서보(朴栖甫 1931-)의 《묘법》에 내재된 예술적 의도와 실천의 과정을 프랑스의 철학자 질 들뢰즈의 이론으로 해석한 글이다. 추상적인 《묘법》의 선들은 목적 없는 반복에 의해 만들어진 표현적 특성을 가진다. 이와 같은 표현적인 미술을 생산하기 위해 박서보는 반복 행위를 통해 마음을 비우길 시도한다. 이와 같은 자의식의 제거를 뜻하는 마음의 비움이 들뢰즈에게는 기관 없는 몸이다. 자아가 해체된 기관 없는 몸이기 때문에 그것은 목적을 가지지 않는 반복 행위를 수행한다. 따라서 박서보의 목적 없는 반복이 들뢰즈의 ‘개념 없는 반복’이다. 그러한 기관 없는 몸에 새겨진 박서보의 추상의 선들은 강도의 차이에 의해 순수 차이를 만든다. 그것이 바로 들뢰즈가 말하는 개념 없는 반복이 만든 ‘개념 없는 차이’이다. 개념 없는 반복이 강도 적 차이 또는 관계적 차이에 의한 개념 없는 순수 차이를 만드는 것이다. 이와 같이 개념 없는 반 복이 만든 개념 없는 차이의 미술이기 때문에 그것은 자의식이 관여된 앵포르멜이 추구한 자아 표현과 구별되는 것이다. 박서보가 그의 예술적 생애를 걸쳐 추구하는 ‘묘법’은 바로 이러한 개념 없는 반복이 만든 개념 없는 차이의 순수 표현에 의한 것이다. 박서보의 행동에 내재된 매번 다른 강도가 만든 그러한 순수 표현과 차이를 드러내는 각각의 《묘법》들은 서로 유사하면서도 다르다. 그러한 순수 차이로서의 미술은 또한 들뢰즈가 개념화한 시뮬라크르로 설명이 가능하다. 따라서 각각의 《묘법》들은 또한 차이의 시뮬라크럼이다. 결과적으로 박서보의 예술 실천은 들뢰즈가 설명한 개념 없는 반복이 순수 표현을 통해 개념 없는 차이의 독특성을 획득하는 예술작품을 본질 을 증명하는 것으로 말할 수 있다.

        This study investigated how Korean EFL learners’ attentional allocation changes during task repetition with or without self-reflection and how this change affects their task performance. A total of 30 Korean high school students were divided into a task repetition only group, a task repetition with self-reflection group, and a comparison group. Each group repeated the same picture-based storytelling task according to its group condition and then performed a new task. Participants’ task performances were analyzed in terms of fluency, complexity, and accuracy and their retrospective interviews were categorized in order to explore their attentional allocation during task planning and performance. The results demonstrated that the learners placed most attention to conveying the message while planning and performing their first task. However, when repeating the same task, the learners paid more attention to structures and forms leading to improvement in complexity and accuracy. These learners were also more likely to employ strategies they had learned previously when doing a new task, which was helpful. Self-reflection raised learners’ awareness on the target form and positively influenced accuracy.

        본 논문은 로버트 라이먼(Robert Ryman, 1930-)의 1953년-1967년 작품을 중심으로 그가 회화를 경험하는 상호작용의 과정을 통해 회화의 의미를 축적했다는 점을 밝힌다. 물질성과 반 복성이라는 특징 때문에 ‘미니멀리스트 화가’로 알려진 라이먼이 1950년대부터 작품을 시작해 온 맥락이 최근 연구되었다. 본 글에서는 이를 바탕으로 그가 회화와 상호작용하는 붓질의 행위 를 실험으로 보고, 듀이의 경험론과 접목했다. 그는 경험 과정에서 얻은 해결책을 ‘의식’적으로 이용하여 통제 조건을 설정하고 결과를 산출하고, 또 새로운 재료를 향해 도전한다. 이러한 관점 에서 그의 수평적 붓질에 나타난 반복은 물질적 측면에서 감축이 아니라 역설적으로 확장되며, 산업용 재료를 사용했음에도 그가 이를 회화를 지속하는 바탕으로 사용했다는 점을 주장했다.

        All elements evolution of Chinese was very intensive from Han to Tang dynasty. The interruptive interrelationship about the shapes, sounds and semantics of Chinese language and characters could be reconnected through the social material object. Stone inscriptions about ancient China are valuable material for the study of language and culture. Basing on a large amount of stone inscriptions from Han to Tang dynasty, this paper straightened out the development and evolution of “Qu” (去) as preposition in ancient China. We discussed Writing style reflected in epitaphs and the avoidance of word‟s repetition in stone inscription.

        Chang, Sunmee. 2017. “The Study of Repetition in an English Immersion Camp Classroom”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 25(1). 193~212. This study was conducted in a classroom of an English immersion camp for elementary school students. It investigated what patterns and functions of repetition were found and how they were interpreted in terms of facilitating foreign language learning during the interaction between a teacher and students. Data was analyzed according to an analytical framework inspired by many previous research studies. The results showed that most of the repetitions were done by the teacher and that they showed various features with impressive functions. Even though the number of students’ repetitions were not as many as that of the teacher's , their functions were not insignificant at all. This study gives us a chance to look at interactive features of repetition, apart from their behaviorist nature.

        지연반복한자교육법(迴圈識字)은 천진의 초등학교 저학년의 한자교육에서 매 우 중요한 지위를 점하고 있으며, 그 효과 또한 실제적으로 증명된다. 천진에서의 이런 경험은 다른 한자교육법과 비교해 볼 때, 지연반복한자교육법은 아동의 기억 현상과 부합되며, 그 효과 또한 매우 높게 나타난다. 저학년 한자교육은 지연반복 한자교육법이 핵심이 되며, 다른 기타 한자교육법은 부가 되어, 이러한 교육 경험 을 확대시킬 필요가 있다. 이는 집중한자교육의 이념을 구현한 것이나 그 스스로 도 독특한 특징을 가지고 있다.

        Suh Kyung-hee. 2012. Repeating the Interviewer: Repetition Strategies by Chinese EFL Learners in NS-NNS Interview. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 20(2). pp. 269-289. This paper examines the sequential contexts where repetition is observed in NS-NNS interview interactions involving Chinese learners of English. Special reference is made to how repetition practiced by NS and NNS is differently distributed in ways consistent with their identities situated in the institutional setting of interview. The examination of data reveals that Chinese EFL learners frequently use repetition as a discourse strategy. They repeat the topically salient phrases or key words from the prior utterances of native speakers at the utterance initial position in adjacency pairs. Such an allo-repetition (repetition of others) is to index topicality, which helps signal cognitive, textual, and affective participation or involvement in contextualized discourse. Such a repetition also functions to buy time for the speaker to finish planning his/her next move without relinquishing the floor. Here, repetition is deployed as a means of creating joint cognition and as a strategy with which partially competent speakers can find room in interaction, while a competent speaker can provide scaffolded help collaboratively. We can see that repetition is a social activity, part of our everyday behavior and not just a marker of a "disfluency" or "sloppy speaker" (Schegloff 1987). Repetition clearly has the power as a communication and negotiation tool.

        This study aims at investigating the effects of phonological short-term memory (PSTM), learning styles, and oral repetition on middle school students" learning of English vocabulary. Two groups had different treatments (semantic learning and oral repetition) and vocabulary learning was assessed in spelling, meaning, and production twice, immediately after the learning sessions and two weeks thereafter. The results reveal that oral repetition and the PSTM capacity affected the vocabulary learning significantly, but not learning styles. The students with a higher PSTM capacity learned significantly more words but didn"t remember them better for a longer period than those with a lower PSTM capacity. No clear effects of learning styles were noted, while the PSTM capacity of auditory learners was higher than that of visual learners. The oral repetition group learned significantly more words than those who did only semantic learning, which suggests the usefulness of oral repetition in learning new vocabulary.

        From time to time Yeats’s concept of death baffles us, since he asserts in A Vision that in effect death is neither absence nor nothing but a recurrence of life in other body and other state. No doubt this elaborate myth of reincarnation is an important element of his system, but acceptance of it as his definitive view of death would lead us down several interpretive blind valley. If there is no annihilation of self, then how can we explain the effort of lyric after lyric to summon up heroic energy in the face of death? Moreover, death for him is something that elicits abundant imagination. By analyzing Yeats’s ‘death’ poems, I attempt at some answers to these questions. I begin with the discussion of the ‘reincarnation’ reflected in “A Dialogue of Self and Soul.” In contrast to the Soul who asserts that one must concentrate on the “darkness” of death, imitating as nearly as possible that future state, the Self, provoked by death, reaffirms the present state. The Self reviews life to deny neither imagination nor the senses; rather it reasserts their ultimate worth. If “Dialogue of Self and Soul” is willing to embrace life again in the face of death, “Under Ben Bulben” internalizes authority to quell death. The speaker ruthlessly suppresses his own vulnerabilities with authoritative commands and the voice of his dead father. The discourse in the poem seems abstracted from the poet’s own life, as if spoken by his now disembodied but empowered voice, a voice from a timeless nowhere beyond the grave. “The Apparition,” another poem dealing with death, however, uncovers the terror that undercuts the assertion of ‘joy’ in “A Dialogue of Self and Soul” and “Under Ben Bulben.” No matter how each poem responds to death, however, it is clear that death cannot be approached directly. It is “Man and the Echo” that allows the good picture of the necessary indirectness of one’s meditation on death. The rabbit’s cry of pain interrupts the deathward meditation. This moment of rupture suggests that “Man” can only think death indirectly, through trope and turn. In “Death,” by turning to the logic of lack and repetition, I attempt to provide some possible answers to why Yeats moves to-and-fro between the repression of death and the avowal of its finality. In “Lapis Lazuli” The poet replaces the marks of time with the self-begetting images. Associated with the regenerative power of water and seasons, the immaterial possibilities supplant the marks on the stone’s surface symbolic of literal death. In its internal time the poet creates poetic possibilities that rise from the external time that decays. In short, death for Yeats ‘causes’ life, and opens up the place that is retroactively filled out by life. But above all death inspires, brings about, and dignifies his poetic imagination. Yeats depends on the muse of death for the aesthetics of his poetry. In his poetry he rehearses death every day.

        반복은 언어의 일반적인 현상으로 대체로 비효율적, 잉여적인 존재로 취급되기 쉽다. 이에 학자들은 반복이 의미 있는 기능을 가지고 있음을 밝혔고, 더 다양한 환경에서의 반복의 기능에 관하여 과제로 남겼다. 이 연구에서는 반복의 기능을 교수전략, 학습전략, 의사소통전략으로 나누려는 시도를 하였다. 이를 위해 실제 교수학습이 일어나는 교실 이라는 환경 내에서 발생하는 대화를 녹음, 전사, 분석하였고, 초급교 실에서 발생한 반복의 기능을 교수전략, 학습전략, 의사소통전략으로 구분해 보았다. 그 결과 실제 초급한국어 교실에서 나타난 반복은 지시, 입력, 오류 지적이 교수전략으로 사용되었고, 발화내용부정, 자기수정, 시간벌기, 따라하기, 연습(내재화)는 학습전략으로, 구체화 요구, 발화유도, 강조, 확인, 맞장구, 타인수정, 동감, 동의는 의사소통전략으로 사용되었다.

        본 연구의 목적은 실제 한국어 교실에서 교사의 교감적 언어사용-반복전략이 나타나는 양상을 보여주는데 목적이 있다. 이 연구는 교사가 학습자의 말을 다시 말하는 반복전략이 대화 유지를 도우고 유대감 형성에 영향을 주는 교감적 언어사용으로 작용한다고 본다. 따라서 본고는 교사의 교감적 언어사용-반복전략의 개념을 체면이론을 바탕으로 적극적, 소극적 전략으로 나누어 설정하였다. 이를 다시 동의, 경청으로 나누어 분류해 실제 한국어 교실에서 나타나는 교사의 반복 발화 양상을 분석해 보았다.

        The Accurate Ranging System for Geodetic Observation – Mobile (ARGO-M) was successfully developed as the first Korean mobile Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR) system in 2012, and has joined in the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS) tracking network, DAEdeoK (DAEK) station. The DAEK SLR station was approved as a validated station in April 2014, through the ILRS station “data validation” process. The ARGO-M system is designed to enable 2 kHz laser ranging with millimeter-level precision for geodetic, remote sensing, navigation, and experimental satellites equipped with Laser Retro-reflector Arrays (LRAs). In this paper, we present the design and development of a next generation high-repetition-rate SLR system for ARGO-M. The laser ranging rate up to 10 kHz is becoming an important issue in the SLR community to improve ranging precision. To implement high-repetition-rate SLR system, the High-repetition-rate SLR operation system (HSLR-10) was designed and developed using ARGO-M Range Gate Generator (A-RGG), so as to enable laser ranging from 50 Hz to 10 kHz. HSLR-10 includes both hardware controlling software and data post-processing software. This paper shows the design and development of key technologies of high-repetition-rate SLR system. The developed system was tested successfully at DAEK station and then moved to Sejong station, a new Korean SLR station, on July 1, 2015. HSLR-10 will begin normal operations at Sejong station in the near future.

        본 연구에서는 국내 기술로 개수로 흐름 측정에 활용할 수 있는 초음파 유속 프로파일러를 개발하였다. 이 유속 프로파일러는 초음파의 도플러 효과로 유속을 측정하는 원리에 기반을 두고 있으며, 도플러 주파수는 펄스반복주파수(Pulse Repetition Frequency) 기법에 의해 산정된다. 개발된 유속 프로파일러의 성능을 검증하기 위해 실내 실험 및 현장 테스트를 수행하였다. 실험 결과 개발된 유속 프로파일러는 바닥에서부터 약 0.1 cm 이상의 수심
