        This study examines changes and features of provincial office buildings in Suwon and Chungju after relocation during Japanese occupation. Gyeonggi and Chungbuk provincial offices(Gwanchalbu) were relocated by Japan. Gyeonggi Provincial Office in Suwon used HwaseongHaenggung buildings and moved to Seoul in 1910. After relocation, most of HwaseongHaenggung buildings used for Suwon Governmental hospital(JaHye Uiwon). Suwongun Office, Suwon public elementary school, Japanese Military and Suwon Police station also used HwaseongHaenggung buildings with the Hospital. At first, Japan remodeled local government buildings for their use. Most of HwaseongHaenggung buildings had been destroyed to build new buildings since 1920s. Chungbuk Provincial office in Chungju used DongHeon building which is Chungju local government building and relocated to Cheongju in 1908. DongHeon building changed to Chungju county office after relocation. This building was renovated. Chungju county office moved to other site, this building was used for Chungju county conference room. During Japanese colonial period, Suwon local government buildings were destroyed and replaced with new Japanese style buildings. Chungju local government buildings were also renovated or destroyed.

        연층을 가지는 건축물들의 피해사례가 관측됨에 따라 기존 건축물 내진성능평가시 수직비정형의 고려가 중요해졌다. 하지만 기존 방법은 수직비정형을 충분히 반영하기 어렵기 때문에 수직비정형을 가지는 건축물에 대해 내진성능을 과소 혹은 과대평가할 여지가 있다. 본 연구는 강성기반 연층비(Soft Story Ratio, SSR)를 이용해 수직비정형 건축물의 내진성능평가 기법을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. SSR은 변위에 대한 요구량과 능력의 비율을 나타내고, 강성차이에 의한 수직비정형을 고려하여 건축물의 변위집중 비율을 의미하는 파라미터다. 1층 기둥을 변수로 하는 필로티 건축물 네 개를 대상으로 개발한 내진성능평가 기법을 기존의 내진성능평가 기법과 비교하였다. 기존 기법은 수직비정형이 극대화되는 모델에 대해 내진성능을 과대평가하는 경우가 발생하였다. 반면 제안된 기법은 모든 모델에 대해서 상세평가의 결과와 동일했다. 따라서 제안하는 내진성능평가 기법은 수직비정형이 극대화되는 필로티 건축물에서 기존의 방법보다 정밀하게 내진성능평가 결과를 제공할 수 있다고 사료된다.

        본 연구에서는 비틀림비정형성과 수직비정형성을 가진 RC 필로티 건축물의 지진동에 대한 거동을 층강성을 적용하여 간단하게 모델링하는 선형 동적해석 프로그램을 개발하고자 한다. 개발된 동적 해석 프로그램을 적용하여 필로티 건축물의 동적 거동 및 필로티층 각 기둥의 전단력을 분석하고, 필로티층에 전단벽 또는 가새를 보강하였을 때 보강효과를 평가하고자 한다. 모서리코어가 있는 필로티 건축물에서 필로티층의 코어 반대편 모서리를 전단벽이나 K형 가새로 보강하였을 때 변위와 기둥 전단력이 크게 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 모서리 양면을 K형 가새로 보강하는 것보다 한 면을 전단벽으로 보강하는 것이 보강효과가 큰 것으로 나타났다.

        This study develops finite element models for seismically-deficient reinforced concrete building frame retrofitted using fiber-reinforced polymer jacketing system and validates the finite element models with full-scale dynamic test for as-built and retrofitted conditions. The bond-slip effects measured from a past experimental study were modeled using one-dimensional slide line model, and the bond-slip models were implemented to the finite element models. The finite element model can predict story displacement and inter-story drift ratio with slight simulation variation compared to the measured responses from the full-scale dynamic tests.

        In 2020, Yi Hunwoo was discovered as one of the earliest modern architects in Korea. However, his personal life was yet mostly unknown, including the time of his death. The research team (‘the team’ hereafter) searched for the records of his personal life and professional career. First, his family genealogical chart revealed that he died in 1937. Having located and contacted Yi’s direct descendents, the team was able to clarify his family background with the descendants’ testimonies. They possess the photographs of him and his family members, including Yi’s picture when he was a freshman at the Nagoya Higher Technical School in Japan. The team also identifies his birthplace and the location of his grave as Hadong, Gyeongsangnamdo, Korea. The team visited his project site in Jinju, Gyeonsangnamdo, Korea and obtained more detailed information about the Ilshin Girls’ High School, which he designed in 1928. Gyohoan, the congregation records of Cheondogyo, one of the leading religions in Korea during Yi’s times, confirmed that he was one of the congregation members. The field research also discovered the house he designed and built in his hometown of Hadong, probably the only surviving architectural project by him. This paper is to report the result of the research on Yi’s life and career with the aim of providing materials for further studies in identifying and positioning him more properly in the early 20th century Korean architectural scene.

        San-ja is one of the main members consisting of the roof of traditional wooden buildings in Korea. In this study, the regional characteristics of the materials used in San-ja and changes of the materials over time were examined. To this end, 123 documents on the repair of wooden architectural heritage recorded since the 1950s were reviewed. It was found that there was a difference in the San-ja material by region because of the diversity in the conditions of material supply. For instance, bamboo was the most frequently used material in Jeollanam-do province because it was readily available. However, with the development of transportation and vehicle, the regional characteristics have disappeared. As a result, the material has been unified with bamboo now. This is because bamboo is specified as a representative material in the specification or the convenience of construction is prioritized. In addition, the social and economic conditions at the time of repair had an influence on the selection of the San-ja materials.

        Building Equipment field is getting important recently which satisfies the requirement for pleasant living environment. But, the noise generated in the machinery room often violates the pleasant living environment of residents in complicated form of airborne noise and soild sound, its seriousness is increasing so that damage of noise can take large percentage of environmental complaints. So, soundproofing and insulation of sound which can minimize such noise and effective countermeasure in case of civil appeal are required, but research materials regarding building equipment are definitely insufficient domestically. In this respect, this study used Zwicker parameter which is applied by psychological and acoustic reactions according to sound quality, analyzed sound quality of 32 kinds of building equipment used in machine room, and analyzed correlation between dB(A) and PSIL which are items of Zwicker parameter and noise valuation based on that. As the results, if valuates altogether loudness and unbiased annoyance which have high correlation with other existing suggested valuating methods, it is considered that it can be utilized as basic data for more reasonable and accurate grasping characteristics of noise from building equipment and for building effective countermeasure in case of civil appeal.

        This paper analysed the architectural images on Pleasant Gathering of Leeum, Samsung museum of art, which has been assumed as a work of the Koryo dynasty. Through the comparison between the unique wooden structure at roof edge on the building images and real architectures, it found the buildings on the painting were from China Fujian(福建), not from Korea. It also analysed the color painting on buildings, trees, themes from previous famous paintings and dresses to confirm these images were came from the early period of the Ming dynasty. It is a very unique painting containing various information on the Fujian ancient architecture, but its architecture drawing is not as skillful as typical ancient Chinese paintings.

        The purpose of this study is to reveal the wood joinery technique in the ancient era. Joinery is one of the core techniques in constructing timber frame architecture in the Korean peninsula. These techniques can be revealed by examining wooden members of ancient buildings. The members were excavated at the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, the historic site in Gyeongju. This study collects the data of 284 members excavated at the Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond and analyzes the details such as length, thickness, width, joint types, joint shapes. With the result of the analysis, this study tries to indicate the level of wood joinery techniques in ancient buildings.

        This study covered the Mulmae, architectural drawing recorded on Yeonggeon-uigwes and Sanleung-uigwes during the late Joseon Dynasty. In uigwes, the term ‘Mulmae’ was used as a mixture until the 17th century, but from the 18th century, the term ‘Mulmae(勿乙每, 勿每, 水每)’ was unified into ‘Mulmae(水每)’. The paper of the Mulmae was made to be used during the construction period by using a thick oil paper called Yudun. Four Yudun were connected, and its size was 197.4×141cm, which was rather large. The Yingzaofashi(營造法式) of Song Dynasty describes how to draw a longitudinal section on a scale of 1/10. The scale of 1/10 was the maximum when comparing the size of the Mulmae with the buildings in uigwes. A sectional drawing of Gongpo in Geunjeongjeon was drawn on a scale of 1/10. There is a testimony that a senior carpenter drew a cross-section on a scale of 1/10. Therefore, it was determined that the scale of the longitudinal section drawn on the Mulmae paper was 1/10. The term 'the Mulmae' was used equally by carpenter active in Japanese colonial era. The scope of the painting was clarified from pillar to rafter. Uigwes records that the Mulmae was made for wood processing. Through this, it can be understood that the Mulmae painted the entire structure as a longitudinal section.

        This study examines the process to demolish official buildings of Joseon Dynasty in Suwon Hwaseong during Japanese colonial period. King Jeongjo built the new Suwon city and constructed the city fortress. Hwaseong Hawnggung and other official buildings were also built in Suwon Hwaseong. However Those buildings were demolished gradually and lost their identity during Japanese colonial period. The official buildings of Hwaseong Haenggung were classified into nine parts. 1) Central area of Hwaseong Haenggung 2)Nangnamheon(落南軒) 3)Uhwaguan(于華館) 4)Namgunyeong(南軍營) 5)Bukgunyeong(北軍營) 6)Gangmudang(講武堂) 7)Yiah(貳衙) 8)Jungyeong(中營) 9) Hoeryungjun(會寧殿). Bukgunyeong was the first demolished building in Suwon Hwaseong. Nangnamheon and Hwaryungjun were not destroyed during Japanese Colonial Period. from 1910s to 1930s most official buildings were demolished and new buildings were rebuilt.
