        This study was devised to observe an inhibitory reaction toward an lipolytic action of toxohormone-L from KEUMSUNYEON powder. Toxohormone-L is known to be a lipolytic factor that was purified from the ascites fluid of sarcoma 180-bearing mice and of patients with hepatoma. KEUMSUNYEON powder was found to inhibit toxohormone-L induced lipolysis at its concentration of 0.5㎎/㎖.

        A series of four sodium α-sulfo fatty acid allylester oligomers such as sodium α-sulfo lauric acid allylester oligomer, sodium α-sulfo myristic acid allyl ester oligomer, sodium α-sulfo palmitic acid allyl ester oligomer and sodum α-sulfo stearic acid allyl ester oligomer were examined for surface tension, defloculation effect and emulsifying power. Also critical micelle concentration (cmc) was evaluated. Consequently, these sodium allyl α-sulfo aliphatic carboxylate aligomers show o/w type emulsifying agent and dispersion effect in 1g/100ml soulution.

        Allyl aliphatic carboxylates were synthesized by azotropic reaction with benzene between allyl alcohol and capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid or stearic acid respectively. allyl aliphatic carboxylates oligomers were prepared from polymerization giving allyl aliphatic carvboxylates in the presence of potassium persulfate in methanol, and the α-sulfonation of these five allyl aliphatic carboxylates oligomers were carried by direct addition of dry sulfur trioxide. Especially, molecular weights of fatty acid alylester oligomers and their sodium salts of α-sulfo fatty acid allylester oligomers were measured by boiling point method.

        Effect of perilla oil on the fatty acid composition, ACAT and HMG-CoA reductase in the liver microsomes, or cholesterol and protein in serum of rabbit were examined. 1. The content of total protein in serum was almost same amount of both groups, but α1-globulin and r-globuline were incresed or β-globulin was decresed compared with control. 2. The content of high density lipoprotein incresed, and the content of low density lipoprotein decresed in lipoprotein. 3. Total cholesterol and triglyceride were decresed, and the content of phospholipid was incresed. 4. Perilla oil did not effect for changing blood glucose and Na+, K+ electrolytes. 5. Perilla oil did not effect for changing serum GOT and GPT in rabbit. 6. The activity of ACAT decresed and the activity of HMG-CoA reductase incresed. The activity of ACAT and HMG-CoA reductase in liver microsomes were reciprocal. 7. There were arachidonic acid 20:4, eicosapentaenoic acid 20:5, and docosahexaenoic acid 22:6 in the liver microsomes of rabbits. These highly polyunsaturated fatty acids were convented from linolenic acid 18:3 n-3.

        A series of four sodium α-sulfo fatty vinyl ester oligomers including sodium α-sulfo lauric acid vinyl ester oligomer, sodium α-sulfo myristic acid vinyl ester oligomer, sodium α-sulfo palmitic acid vinyl ester oligomer and sodium α-sulfo stearic acid vinyl ester oligomer were examined for surface activities such as surface tension, foaming power, foam stability, emulsifying power, dispersion effect, solubilization of orange OT. The critical micelle concentration(CMC) was also evaluated. Consequently, these sodium α-sulfo fatty acid vinyl ester oligomers were shown to have a good cohesive power and dispersion effect.

        How did the Korean religious culture which was consisted of three different religions- Shamanism, Buddhism, Confucianism- be combined and transformed? The author focused the mixture and transformation of the procedure of sacrificial rite and the arrangement of sacrificial food in each religion. In this thesis, the author studied first, the conception in sacrificial rite, second, the procedure of sacrificial rite, third, the items of sacrificial rite food according to each period. In consequence of the research each religion had lost its uniqueness and became mixed to each other and settled down in Korean culture.

        In order to investigate the amino acid and fatty acid content in Thuja biotae water extract treated with alkaline, it was performed. There are 16 kinds of different amino acid and 20 kinds of different fatty acid in Thuja biotae water extract. An aspartic acid was contained 52% and proline was contained 10%, particulary, r-aminobutyric acid was analysed. Essential fatty acids; linoleic acid, linolenic acid and arachidonic acid were cotained a lot amount. There are 11 different unknown materials which were identified by GC-MS spectrum, such as N-[(4α,5α)-cholestan-4-yl]-acetamide; 22,26-Epithio-furost-5-en-3-ol; 2-Methyl-6-(4-methyl-3-cyclohexen-1-yl)-4-heptanone; 3,12,14-Tris(acetyloxy)-pregnane-15,20-dione;22-Methyl-26-thio-furost-5-en-3-ol; 7-Ethenyl-1,2,3,4,4a,4b,5,6,7,9,10,10a-dodecahydro-1,4a,7-trimethyl-1-phenanthrene carboxyaldehyde; Methoxyiminopro-panedioic acid; 13-Methyl-13-β-Methyl-13-vinyl-dodecaarp-7-en-3-3-ol; 22-Methyl-26-thio-furost-6-methyl-3-ol; 5α-Androstane-2,11-dione; 9-Methyl-heptadecanoic acid.

        The sacrificial rite has its origin in the old China's primitive folkways faith based upon animism (B.C. 25c). From the animistic faith, Confucianism made its appearance in B.C. 551. Inevitably, the procedure of Confucian sacrificial rite was developed on the basis of the preceding primitive faith. In Korean culture, the god of Chinese Confucianism introduced to Korea in A.D. 108 was mixed properly with that of Buddhism imported in A.D. 372. Traditionally, Korean primitive religion (from B.C. 10c to B.C. 2c) was the sacrificial rite practiced by 'shaman.' The 'shaman' who was able to utilize ecstasy for the good of community was gods itself, and naturally the main form of the sacrificial rite was an exorcism with a sacrificial offering (food). After Korean primitive religion had been grafted to Buddhism and Confucianism, the character of Korean culture had to become compound. The most essential conception in sacrificial rite is a discrimination of a ghost, one is the evil spirit and the other is the good spirit. According to this conception, the good spirit is a spirit which ascended to heaven, in contrast, the evil spirit is a one which did not ascend to heaven and dispersed into this world. The sacrificial rite is a method to help the evil spirit ascend to heaven or to prevent harms from it. The mode of sacrificial rite especially the dead ancestor worship was transmitted from generation to generation as a purpose of the wealth and honors of descendants. Descendants believed that the evil spirit would not harm them only after receiving sufficient food and the right sacrifice. As a result, the sacrificial rite food was the sign of filial piety and a compensation for the evil spirit. How did the Korean religious culture which was consisted of three different religions-Shamanism, Buddhism. Confucianism-be combined and transformed? The author focused the mixture and transformation of the procedure of sacrificial rite and the arrangement of sacrificial food in each religion.         Contents of total lipids, neutral lipids, glycolipids and phospholipids of seed oils of 16 species of the Labiatae family were determined and their fatty acid compositions were analyzed by gas-liquid chromatography. The results were summarized as follows. 1) Lipid contents of seeds were shown to be 40.6% in Perilla frutescens Britton var. japonica, 32.2% in P. frutescens britton var. acuta, 31.9% in lsodon japonicus, 32.7% in l. inflexus, 48.3% in l. serra, 35.1% in Mosls dianthera, 38.2% in M. punctulata, 33.4% in Nepeta cataria, 26.3% in Agastache rugosa, 30.9% in Eisholtzia ciliata, 18.9% in Salvia splendens, 23.9% in Lycopus maackianus, 49.5% in Clinopodium chinense var. parviflorum, 30.9% in Ametystea caerulea, 33.1% in Leonurus sibircus and 34.3% in Scutellaria basicalensis. 2) Contents of neutral lipids, glycolipids and phospholipids from the seed oils amounted to 98.6%, 0.7%, 0.8% in P. frutescens Britton var. japonica; 95.5%, 1.3%, 3.1% in P. frutescens Britton var. acuta; 95.1%, 1.8%, 3.1% in l. japoincus; 91.4%, 3.5%, 5.1% in l. inflexus; 96.8%, 0.7%, 2.5% in l, serra; 96.0%, 1.8%, 2.2% in Mosla dianthera; 94.7%, 2.0%, 3.3% in M. punctulata; 90.1%, 2.4%, 7.5% in Nepeta cataria; 90.1%, 3.4%, 6.5% in Agastache rugosa; 86.3%, 3.3%, 10.4% in Elsholtzia ciliata; 94.3%, 1.5%, 4.3% in Salvia splendens; 87.2%, 2.9%, 9.0% in Lycopus maackianus; 87.0%, 1.5%, 11.5% in Clinopodium chinense var. parviflorum; 91.8%, 1.6%, 6.6%; 95.5%, 0.4%, 4.1% in Leonurus sibricus; 89.0%, 1.4%, 9.6% in Scutellaria baicalensis. 3) Total lipids revealed the predominace of unsaturated fatty acids (82.0-94.5%) and larger variations were found in the composition of α-linolenic acid (0.4-67.9%) and linoleic acid (11.2-82.9%). High level of α-linoenic acid was present in P. frutescens Britton var. japonica (67.9%), P. frutescens Britton var, acuta (66.0%), lsodon japonicus (65.2%), l. inflexus (59.0%), l. serra (57.3%), Mosla dianthera (60.9%), Nepeta cataria (58.3%), Agastache rugosa (58.5%) and Elsholtzia ciliata (46.2%), and followed by linoleic acid (11.2-32.1%) and oleic acid (9.3-12.2%). However, linoleic acid was the most predominant component in the total lipids of Clinopodium chinense var. parviflorum (62.4%), Ametystea caerules (82.9%), Leonurus sibricus (60.9%) and Scutellaria baicalensis (63.4%), with very small amounts of α-linolenic acid (0.4-3.1%). The total lipids of Salvia splendens, Lycopus maackianus and Mosla punctulata also contained linoleic acid of 31.3%, 48.8% and 53.4%, with a considerable amount of α-linolenic acid of 34.5% 27.0% and 16.7%. Palmitic acid was the major saturated fatty acid in all the oils investigated (4.1-14.2%). 4) Fatty acid profiles of neutral lipids bore a close resemblance to those of total lipids in all the seed oils, but different from those of glycolipids and phospholipids. Fatty acid composition pattern of glycolipids and phospholipids showed a considerably increased level of saturated fatty acids (19.0-66.8%, 17.8-35.2%) mainly composed of palmitic acid and stearic acid, and a noticeable low level of unsaturated fatty acids (41.2-80.9%, 64.7-82.1%) which was ascribed to the decrease in α-linolenic acid of high α-linolenic acid seed oils, and in linoleic acid of high linoleic seed oils, compared to that of total lipids and neutral lipids.

        The results obtained by survey on 599 respondents of different age groups for preference of 84 prepared foods were subjected to statistical principal component analysis, factor analysis, analysis of variance, scheffe verification, and discriminant analysis so as to find a structure of preference for foods. The results may be summarized as follows: 1. The results of the factor analysis indicate that 84 prepared food items may be classified into 3 groups and that by knowing an indvidual's preference to one prepared food, one can presume his preference to the others in the same group without carrying out actual test. 2. The results from an analysis of variance showed that most of primary school children extremely liked snacks, seniors liked Korean cooking, primary school children and collegians had weaknesses for western cookings while kindergarden children and adults over 50 years old disliked them.

        In order to determine the design precipitation, the most probable daily precipitation and annual precipitation at every spot are calculated and iso - precipitation line are drawn. Probability of precipitation and drought phenomena of each gage station are analyzied by the method of frequency analysis from the statistical conceptions. The results summarized in this study are as the follows. 1. Annual mean precipitation in kyungpook area are 1044 mm, about 115 mm less than annual mean precipitation of Korea amounts to l1S9mm, and found to regionally unequal. 2. Monthly mean rainfall of July is 242.2mm, 23.2%, August 174.2mm, 16.7%, June 115mm, 11% and September 114.2mm, 10.9% and Rainfall depth of July-August are more than 40% of annual precipition. This shows notable summer rainy weather by typoon and low pressure storm and seasonal unbalance of water supply. 3. The relation among the maximum precipi.tation per day, per two continuous days and per three contnous days are caculated and the latter is found 31.0% increased rate of the first and the last 48.2% increased rate of first. 4. Probability precipitation in Kyungpook area are shown as 9.0%(5 year), 13.3%(10 year), 17.7%(20 year), 23.1%(50 year), 27.0%(100 year) and 31.1%(200 year) increased rate of each recurrence year compared with observed average annual precipitation. 5. From annual precipitation and maximum daily rainfall data probability of precipitation and precipitation isohyetal line are derived which shown as Table 11 and Fig. 8. 6. Drought days are divided 6 class and analysed results are shown on table 12. Average occurrence time of 10-14 continuous drought days are 2.3 time per year, 15-19 days are 0.9 time per year, 20-24 days are one per six years, 30-34 days are once per nine years and over than 35days are once per 25 years.

        경북도내(慶北道內) 각(各) 지역별(地域別) 벼 도열병균(稻熱病菌)레이스 분포(分布) 및 Blasticidin-S에 대(對)한 내성(耐性)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 경북면방(慶北面方)에서의 벼도열병균(稻熱病菌)레이스의 조성(組成)은 KJ군(群) 레이스 5종(種), KI군(群) 레이스 6종(種)으로 총(總)11개(個) 레이스가 분포(分布)되어 있으며 가장 많이 우점(優占)된 레이스는 KJ301로서 그 분포(分布) 비율(比率)이 37.9~39.0%였고 그 다음으로 KJ401, KJ201, KJ101, KI3I5, KJ105, KI307, 의 순(順)이었다. 레이스군별(軍別)로는 KJ군(群)레이스가 우점도(優占度)가 높았으며 지역별(地域別) 우점(優占)레이스는 거의 KJ301이었다. KI군(群)레이스 분포비율(分布比率)은 남부(南部), 연해부(沿海部)에 비(比)해 중(中), 북부(北部) 지역(地域)이 높았다. 레이스군별(軍別) 분포비율(分布比率) 변동(變動)은 주(主)로 벼품종별(品種別) 식부면적(植付面積)과 상관관계(相關關係)를 나타내었으며 Blasticidin-S 내성균(耐性菌)에 의한 영향(影響)은 없었다. 경북지방(慶北地方)에서 발생(發生)되고 있는 벼도열병균(稻熱病菌)의 Blasticidin-S에 대(對)한 내성균(耐性菌)의 분포(分布) 비율(比率)은 31.2%였으며 지역별(地域別)로는 남부지역(南部地域)이 43.2%로 가장 높았고 중부(中部) 29.4%, 북부(北部) 25.0%, 연해부(沿海部) 지역(地域)이 10.5%로 가장 낮았다. 내성균(耐性菌) 분포(分布) 비율(比率)은 레이스군별(軍別) 분포(分布) 비율(比率)과는 일정(一定)한 관계(關係)가 없었으나 도열병(稻熱病) 살균제(殺菌劑) 사용량(使用量)과는 정(正)의 상관관계(相關關係)를 나타내었다.

        Effect of initial PH on the lipid accumulation and fatty acid composition of some species of mold were investigated. The maximum lipid content content produced by Aspergillus niger var. macrosporus was 17.5% at PH 3.5, by Aspergillus fumigatus 23.5% at PH 3.5 by Penicillium spinulosum 12.0% at PH 4.0 and by Penicillium notatum 7.3% at PH 4.0. The major fatty acids were palmitic, stearic, oleic and linoleic acid in all experimental molds. At PH from 4.5 to 6.0, the proportion of linoleic acid was increased and those of palmitic and oleic acid were decreased with rising in PH, therefore, degree of lipid unsaturation was increased in all experimental molds.
