        During therapy sessions, feedback is often provided concurrently by the physical therapist as the patient attempts to perform a movement and after the movement attempt. This feedback is provided to enhance the patient's balance abilities. However, recent studies in nondisabled populations have suggested that frequent feedback may be detrimental to retention or learning of motor skills. This study compared the effects of 100% relative frequency of knowledge of performance (KP) with 66% relative frequency of KP for motor learning on balance retraining in patients with hemiplegia. Twenty patients with hemiplegic were randomly assigned to one of two experimental groups. The acquisition phase consisted of 16 blocks of 5 trials for 2 days (80 total practice trials). The retention phase consisted of 2 blocks of a short-term retention test, one day after the end of the acquisition phase and a long-term retention test, one week after the end of the short-term retention test. In the 100% feedback condition, participants received feedback after every practice trial. A faded KP schedule was used in the 66% condition. No significant differences were found between the two groups during all experimental phases (acquisition and retention phases), (p>.05). However, there were significant decreases in balance index for both groups of acquisition phase (p<.05). These results suggest that 66% relative frequency of KP is not more effective than 100% relative frequency of KP with respect to retention over time when hemiparetic patients attempt to learn balance.

        This study was undertaken to investigate meal pattern, nutrition knowledge and food preference of 438 rural middle school students living in ChunNam area. As far as nutrition knowledge is concerned, most subjects did not answer correctly on the items of basic five food groups, animal fat and vegetable oil, empty source of soft drink, nutrient requirement and water's role in energy metabolism. However they responded well on the item of iron deficiency and dietary source of Ca. Male students were significantly better in the answering the items of dietary source of energy and nutrient requirement than females, while female students were significantly better on the items of water's role in energy metabolism related to obesity. Generally the respondents did neither consume oil often nor consider consumption of salty food. Furthermore, only 38.6% of subjects drink milk daily in spite of understanding dietary source of Ca, which suggested that they should incorporate nutrition knowledge into dietary behavior. The preferred foods for most subjects were fruit, kimbab and ice cream. Contrastingly the food that they did not prefer was fermented vegetable probably due to strong flavor.

        To keep enterprise's competitiveness on condition of the automatic manufacturing system such as FA, FMS and CIM, all the maintenance problems should be considered seriously in not only production and maintenance but also related industrial safety. As we analyze in the surveys for the maintenance management of domestic enterprises and the causes of Industrial accident, there will be necessity of drawing up countermeasures for prevention of industrial accidents and for ensuring expertise maintenance technologies. Based on these analyses, this study studied the safety information system, maintenance management information system, and the machinery condition diagnosis technique by using of the knowledge-based system under the internet environment. This web based knowledge-based diagnosis system can easily provide not only the knowledge of expert about deterioration phenomenon of industrial robot, but also the knowledge of relating safety and facility on everywhere, everytime. Therefore, when we use this system, it is expected to improve the efficiency of business processes in the production and safety.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of ‘knowledge of results’ on wrist proprioceptive training in three persons with poststroke hemiplegia who had no unilateral spatial neglect on MVPT and had adequate cognition on MMSE-K. A single subject design with multiple baseline across individuals was employed. Each subject participated daily in the 10-15 minutes' wrist proprioceptive training for the affected wrist with ‘knowledge of results’ which informed the subjects of their wrist position verbally or visually as feedback. The proprioception was measured as average frequency and percentage of the correct responses on the wrist proprioceptive test in the affected side using apparatus of researcher’s own design and SoloSystem. The measurements were repeated three times; baseline, immediately, and 30 minutes after the training. The results were as follow: 1. During the baseline period, the number of average correct responses in three subjects were: S1 7.20(36.00%), S2 7.25(36.25%), and S3 10.58(52.92%) respectively. 2. Immediately after the training, the number of average correct responses in three subjects were: S1 14.07(69.67%), S2 12.83(64.17%), and S3 15.63 (78.13%) respectively. 3. Thirty minutes after the training, the number of average correct responses in three subjects were: S1 15.53(77.67%), S2 14.25(71.25%), S3 6.38(81.88%) respectively. 4. All the three subjects showed more correct responses in wrist proprioceptive tests at wrist flexion 60°and extension 60°during both the baseline and the training period. They also showed the highest improvement of correct response at neutral wrist position. These results indicated that ‘knowledge of results’ had positive effects on improving and maintaining the wrist proprioception of affected wrists in persons with poststroke hemiplegia. Effect of such improvement on the functional aspect of stroke-affected upper extremity remains to be evaluated in the later study.

        A company needs low cost and high efficient S/W tools to improve the white color productivity in daily operation, These needs may be satisfied by end-user knowledge management system to be suggested in this paper. We suggest that the end-user knowledge management is not made by specialized developer but directly made by end-users of some related managers using company-wide DB and department DB. We expect that this end-user knowledge management system will increase the efficiency of end-user daily operation and minimize the total life cycle cost of end-user computing system in industry. The suggested end-user knowledge management system has been tested in some companies through the training course.

        The aim of this study is to survey the eating habits and nutritional knowledge of children in Pusan, with a view to uncovering problems and their underlying causes and cultivating desirable dietary habit and nutrition for children. Three hundred and fifty six elementary school students were asked questions about their eating habits and nutritional knowledge as well as general information about their personal characteristics. The results showed: 1. Only 53.5% of the subjects had breakfast every day. Seventy-six percent of the subjects had dinner every day. Only 40% of the children took meals and talked with family at both breakfast and dinner. Thus there was little opportunity for dietary guidance by parents. 2. About half of the subjects answered that their appetite decreased after eating snack foods between meals. A third of the subjects liked the baked goods as snacks. Because of their high sugar and fat content, they can damage children's health, resulting in child diabetes and tooth decay. For this reason, careful education is necessary to allow children to be able to select snack foods that are appropriate in kind and quantity. 3. About 85% of the subjects had an unbalanced diet. Therefore systematic nutrition education at school is necessary to instill in children the value of balanced diet. 4. Children preferred rice to other cereals as a staple food. They disliked kimchi, seasoned and blanched foods and salads as subsidiary foods. It is therefore necessary to teach children systematically the nutritional advantage of cereals and vegetables and to heighten their awareness of Korean food culture. 5. Children had a low level of nutritional knowledge. The knowledge of specific nutrients was lower than that of foods. In conclusion, systematical educational programs need to be developed at elementary school. These should include information about achieving a balanced diet, good eating habit, meal management and Korean dietary culture. Nutritional education at home must be emphasized.

        This study was to investigate the nutrition and cancer prevention knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, and self-reported dietary changes. Data were collected from 903 parents whose children were attending an elementary school, a middle school, a high school, or a junior college in Kimcheon. Thirty-seven percent of the subjects reported that they had made dietary changes for their health. Respondents reported eating more vegetables(33.1%), fruit(24.1%), whole grains(19.9%), and lower-fat meats(14.5%) and less alcohol(17.2%), high-fat meat(16.4%), fats(13.8%), smoked foods(13.8%), snacks/cake/sweets(11.7%), salty foods(9.6%), and refined grain products(6.1%). Those who did not make any dietary changes most often said the reason was that they thought their diets were already healthful and therefore there was no reason to make a change. Eighty-nine percent of the subjects agreed that diet and disease were related and 89.5% knew that diet and cancer were related, yet 8% believed there was nothing a person could do to reduce the risk of getting cancer. In response to open-ended questions about foods that either increase or decrease cancer risk, vegetables, fruit, traditional fermented foods, etceteras, and whole grains were thought to decrease risk, and burned foods, salty foods, additives, high-fat meats/fats, and alcohol were thought to increase cancer risk. In this study, education levels to be the major demographic variable and residential district had an impact on cancer prevention knowledge and attitudes. People at lower educational levels and rural residents should be targeted for education about cancer risk reduction.

        반응표면분석법으로 식품위생관련 세균의 불활성화를 위한 가열처리 조건(온도. 시간)을 최적화하다. 균주의 생육에 대한 반응표면 회귀식의 R^2은 P.aeruginosa가 0.9155(P<0.05). E. coli는 0.8997(P<0.05).S. typhinurium은 0.9690(P<0.01), E. aerogenes는 0.9393(P<0.05) 및 V. parahaemolyticus는 0.7905로 나타났다 가열처리 온도 및 시간에 따라 주의 생육에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며. 생육억제에는 반응온도가 가장 큰 상관관계가 있음을 보여주었다. 각각의 가열처리 조건에 따른 균주의 불활성화를 종합하여 superimposed contour map을 작성한 결과. 55.62∼60℃에서 19.25∼30분간의 처리가 균주으 불활성화 최적조건이었다. 본 연구는 피부미용전공과 비전공여대생의 모발영양지식을 파악하고 모발영양에 관한 과목을 수강한 학생들과 수강하지 않은 대상자들간의 모발상태. 모발행등 등을 연구하고자 청주에 있는 피부미용과 여대생 146명과 비전공여대생 145명을 선정하여 설문지를 통해 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과는 다음과 같다. 모발영양지식은 전공여대생이 비전공여대생에 비해 훨씬 높았고. 모발의 진단을 받아본 경험도 전공대상자가 높았다. 그러나 모발상태. 손상원인 모발에 관한 걱정은 두 그룹 모두 비슷한 양상을 보였다. 모발관리도 전공대상자가 비전공대상자보다 많이 하고 있었고, 모발손질 횟수도 전공대상자가 높은 비율로 나타났다 미용실 출입횟수는 2∼3달에 한번이 가장 높았고, 그룹간에 차이는 없었다. 1회 머리손질 비용도 전공대상자가 비전공대상자에 비해 높은 경향이었고. 샴푸의 선택기준은 두 그룹 모두 샴푸의 질과 본인 모발의 상태를 우선적으로 고려하여 선택하였다. 결론적으로 피부미용전공 여대생은 모발영양관 모발관리학 등에 관한 수업을 받았기 때문에. 모발영양 지식이 많아 모발행동이 더 바람직하였고 도발상태를 양호하게 유지하였다. 그러므로 모발에 관한 교육 건강한 모발을 유지하는데 기여한 것으로 나타나. 적절한 모발교육 프로그램을 개발하여 비전공여대생들에게도 모발교육을 실시하는 것이 바람직하다고 사료된다.

        오늘날의 산업용 로봇, CNC 공작기계 및 여러 산업설비들은 시스템간에 관계가 복잡하게 연결되어 높은 신뢰성(reliability)을 달성하여 왔다. 그러나 가동시 발생하는 결과의 고장 가능성은 적은 반면에, 고장 발생의 파급 효과는 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 복잡한 구조의 산업설비들에 대한 안전진단 결과들을 적절하게 분석하고 관리할 필요성이 크게 대두되고 있다. 이러한 안전진단 작업은 여러 가지 정량적ㆍ정성적인 방법들을 포함하는 전형적인 분석방법이 필요하다. 최근에는 고장탐색, 진단처리 작업 및 신뢰성 분석 작업에 지식기반(knowledge-based)을 기초로한 퍼지 전문가 시스템을 적용하고자 하는 시도가 많이 이루어지고 있다. 안전진단 분석에 관한 일반화된 지식은 이들 후속 단계들에서 상당히 효율적일 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 연구를 수행하기에는 지금까지 상대적으로 열악한 계산 도구들을 이용하였기 때문에 안전진단 분석을 행하기에는 한계가 있었다. 그러나 오늘날 컴퓨터를 이용하여 위의 여러 단계들의 수행과정에 안전진단 분석을 행할 수 있는 적절한 방법으로써, 지식-기반(knowledge-base) 전문가 시스템들을 이용하는 방법을 연구하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 시스템의 설계단계 뿐만 아니라, 시스템의 가동ㆍ유지ㆍ보수ㆍ수리시에도 비전문가가 고장안전진단을 수행할 수 있도록 하는데 목표를 두었다.

        This nutritional survey was conducted in February 25, 1999, in order to investigate the nutritional knowledge, dietary attitudes and nutrient intakes of dietitians living in Kangwon area. Subjects consisted of 250 dietitians, with 184 in school food service, 14 in hospital food service and 52 in institution food service. Data were analyzed for frequencies, means, t-test, 2-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation using SPSS PC Package. The results obtained are summarized as follows: The average nutritional knowledge score was 10.15 out of possible 15 points, and dietary attitude score was 67.93 out of 100 points. The correlation between nutritional knowledge score and dietary attitude score was lowly(γ=-0.25). Nutrients consumed below the Korean RDA were energy (78.77%), Ca(90.5%), Fe(83.70%) and nutrients consumed above the Korean RDA were protein(110.83%), P(140.21%), vit.A(163.94%), vit.B2(126.37%), niacin(121.12%) and vit C(231.86%). Carbohydrate, protein and fat ratio on energy composition was 63%:17%:20%. The nutrient density among 3 groups of dietitian was not significantly different.

        Perception and knowledge on the diet among 651 women living in Inchon were surveyed by questionnaires in March through May, 1998. Respondents consisted of middle school girls(12.3%), high school girls(16.4%), and women in twenties(16.4%), thirties(18.9%), forties(15.7%) and fifties and over(20.3%). Ratio of high school graduates was the highest(37.0%) among respondents, and there was a tendency of less education with ages. Seventy-six percent of women practised the diet for the self-satisfaction of a nice figure, 20% for healing diseases, and 3.4% for attracting boy friends' or husbands' attention. The purpose of the diet was significantly different with ages(p<0.01). The diet methods which the respondents perceived effective and wanted to practise were exercise and food therapy. Average score of the knowledge on the diet was 8.27 out of 10, and significantly different with ages and education(p<0.05). Twenties showed the highest score and high school girls, thirties, middle school girls, forties and fifties and over were followed in decreasing order. Also the score was in decreasing order of graduates of college, high, elementary and middle school.

        중앙공무원 연수원에서 연수중인 남자 공무원 213명을 대상을 비만과 관련된 인자들을 분석하였다. 조사 대상자는 20대가 52.6%로 가장 많았고, 대부분(96%)이 대졸 출신 이상의 높은 학력 수준을 지니고 있었다. 건강과 관련된 요인들 중 운동 실태가 우수한 것으로 나타났고 흡연율도 상당히 낮았으나, 74.2%의 높은 음주율을 보였다. 한편 22.1%가 질병을 보유하고 있다고 응답하였는데, 그 중 위장질환(22명)이 가장 많았다. 조사 대상자들의 평균신장과 체중은 172.1㎝, 70.5㎏이며, BMI는 23.8, 체지방량 16.1㎏, 체지방율 21.3%, 제지방량 55.4㎏, 체수분함량 40.9㎏으로 나타났다. 비만도는 BMI 기준으로 정상(20∼25)이 64.6%로 가장 많았고, 과체중(25∼27)이 18.4%, 저체중(<20) 9.9%와 비만(>27) 7.1%의 분포를 보였으며, 체지방율은 정상(14∼23%)이 58.7%이었고, 비만(>23%) 34.7%, 저체중(<14%) 6.6%의 순으로 나타났다. BMI와 체지방율은 연령과 정의 상관관계(p<0.01)를, 결혼과는 부의 상관관계(p<0.01)를 나타냈으나 학력이나 수입 정도는 별 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 영양에 대한 지식정도에는 비만도에 따라 큰 차이가 없었으나, 비만과 관련된 식품에 대해 매우 민감한 반응을 보였다. 본 조사대상자들이 고학력임에도 불구하고 영양지식 점수가 양호하지 못하다는 점은 학교나 직장에서의 정규적인 영양교육의 필요성을 제시해준다.
