        The objective of this study is to censure the provision of correct information to the public through investigating radon emanation by building materials that are used in domestic construction environment. Radon emanation has been identified in 10 framing materials and 16 finishing materials of 26 building materials used in the domestic construction-industry. Radon emanation was measured using the closed chamber method based on CR-39 nuclear track detectors(NTDs). On Brick-General in framing materials, the highest radon emanation rates were 0.60028 Bq/ m2·h for surface and 0.00733 Bq/kg·h for mass, while on Ceiling-Tex Cement Plaster in finishing materials. The highest radon emanation rates were 0.47708 Bq/m2·h for surface and 0.05885 Bq/kg·h for mass.

        Developing proper reduction strategies of indoor radon which have been an important issue in Korea requires proper information on source characteristics a phosphate gypsum board which is a common building material used for inter-wall thermal protection in Korea could be a major source of indoor radon level. This study evaluated the correlation between indoor radon concentration and the attribution of gypsum board content in building materials. In this study we valuated indoor/outdoor radon from 58 facilities selected based on the information availability of gypsum content in the building material across 8 different cities in Korea. Our results showed that indoor radon concentrations were 2 to 3 times higher than outdoor but those results were not significantly attributed from gypsum contents in the building material. Indeed, phosphate content in gypsum board did not significantly play a role in indoor radon level variations. It is concluded that physical environmental condition such as temperature, relative humidity, radon exhalation rate out of each building materials, as well as pathway from external sources (e.g., soil) needs to be identified to develop indoor radon reduction strategies.

        The purpose of this study was to assess an alternative method to characterize indoor environmental factors by multiple indoor and outdoor measurements. Using a mass balance model and regression analysis, penetration factor and source strength factor were calculated using multiple indoor and outdoor measurements. This study was performed in 30 selected apartments in Seoul, Asan, and Daegu area which were constructed within 4 years and over 4 years, to measure the concentration of NO2 from July, 2004 to September. The results of this study are as follows. The average concentration of NO2 in Seoul, Asan, and Daegu area in the apartment constructed within 4 years are nitrogen dioxide 48.01㎍/m3 and in the apartment over 4 years are nitrogen dioxide 46.54㎍/m3. Mean ratios of indoor to outdoor NO2 concentrations are Seoul 0.99, Asan 0.83, Daegu 1.18. The deposition constant and the source strength of NO2 were 0.97±0.55 hr-1 and 16.33±12.30 ppb/h, respectively. In conclusion, indoor environmental factors were effectively characterized by this method using multiple indoor and outdoor measurements.

        본 연구는 교육변화의 새로운 패러다임인 스마트교육 구현에 요구되는 학교 관리자의 역량을 탐색하고 논의하는 데 주된 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 스마트교육 시범학교 관리자의 심층면담 분석결과와 선행연구의 논의를 토대로 스마트교육 구현을 위한 학교 관리자 역량군으로 ‘지식·이해’ 역량군, ‘가치·태도’역량군, ‘관리·지원’ 역량군, ‘기타’역량군 4개군 49개 역량요소를 도출하였다. 도출된 역량 요소는 조사도구로 구안하였고 스마트교육 연구학교에 재직 중인 학교 관리자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 각 역량군 요소에 대한 Borich 요구도와 The Locus for Focus Model을 활용하여 우선순위 및 필수 역량 요소를 추출하였다. 분석결과 ‘지식·이해’ 역량군에서는 4개(스마트교육 개념적 이해, 협동학습의 이해, 스마트교육 운영 방법 지식, 스마트교육과 창의성 교육 관계), ‘관리·지원’ 역량군에서는 2개(의사소통, 행·재정적 지원), ‘가치·태도’ 역량군에서는 3개(학교문화의 변화 이해, 새로운 변화에 대한 적응력, 민주적 마인드), ‘기타’ 역량군에서는 3개(스마트교육과 학생 생활지도, 고등사고력 신장, 스마트기기 활용 능력)이 도출되었다.

        The assessment of personal exposure is a critical component in population-based epidemiologic studies of air pollution. This study was conducted to apply and compare the four exposure estimation methods of individual-level to air pollution concentration in a cohort including 2,283 subjects in Gwangyang, Korea. Individual-level exposure of air pollution were estimated using multiple approaches, including average across all monitors, nearest monitor, and spatial interpolation by inverse distance weighting and kriging. The mean concentrations of PM10, NO2, SO2, CO, O3 by four exposure estimation methods were slightly different but not significantly different from each other. Cross-validation showed that kriging was more accurate than other exposure estimation methods because kriging has probably predicted individual exposure levels equivalent to residential locations after estimating the parameters of a model according to the spatial surface of air pollution concentration. These data support that spatial interpolation methods may provide better estimates than selecting the value from the nearest monitor and averaging across values from all monitors by reflecting spatial attributes of air pollution on personal level.

        학생자치법정은 법무부가 중심이 되어 2006년부터 현재까지 학교, 소년원, 소년법원 등에서 시범․운영되고 있다. 학생자치법정은 미국 청소년법정을 모델로 삼고, 한국적 상황에 맞게 도입하는 것으로 상벌점제를 전제로 한 법교육프로그램의 일종이다. 최근 학생자치법정에 관한 법제화 논의가 제기되고 있어, 이 연구는 우리나라 학생자치법정이 모델로 삼고 있는 미국의 청소년법정에 관한 법제 현황을 분석하고 우리나라 법제화에 주는 시사점을 도출해 보고자 하였다. 미국의 경우 총 51개주(총 50개 주와 워싱턴 D.C 포함) 중 약 25개 주에서 법제화하고 있고, 법제화의 수준도 형사소송법, 소년법, 교육법 등 다양하며, 상세화의 정도에 있어서도 천차만별이다. 청소년법정은 소년범에 대한 다이버전 프로그램의 성격을 가진다는 점에서 우리나라 학생자치법정이 학생을 선도하고자 하는 교육적 목적의 활동이라는 점에서 차이가 있다. 또한, 미국의 청소년법정은 주로 소년법원이나 지역 단체에서 운영되며 학교에서 운영되는 경우는 상대적으로 적다는 점에서도 우리와 차이가 있다. 따라서 미국의 청소년법정이 법제화된 경우가 있다고 하여, 우리나라에서도 이를 법제화할 것인지 여부는 좀 더 많은 논의와 검토가 필요하다고 판단된다. 정부는 학생자치법정이 잘 운영될 수 있도록 학생자치법정 매뉴얼 개발․보급에 중점을 두고, 학교에게 자율적으로 학생자치법정을 운영할 수 있도록 지원하는 것이 타당하다.

        This study analyzed the concentration of the heavy metals(Cd, Hg, iAs) of urine(n=576) from May, 2007 to Oct 2007. The subject was residents in G, Y, H industrial area, Jeollanam-do, in which exposure due to the adjacency of the industrial complex. As to the heavy metal concentration in the urine of the residents in the whole exposed region and the comparing region, the content of cadmium, mercury, and inorganic arsenic in the exposed region group were 1.23, 1.85, and 8.80 μg/g_ct respectively, and those of the comparing region group were 1.87, 2.00, and 8.93 μg/g_ct respectively, which indicates that the concentration of the comparing group was higher than that of the exposed group. The heavy metal concentration for each age group increased in proportion to age except those under 10 for some substances(p<0.01). As to geometric mean concentration cadmium and inorganic arsenic in urine according to the smoking history of the subject, the concentration of the smoking group and the non-smoking group were 1.65 μg/g_ct and 9.13 μg/g_ct respectively, while those of the non-smoking group were 1.47 μg/g_ct and 8.91 μg/g_ct respectively, which indicates that the former is higher than the latter. As to the inorganic arsenic concentration in urine according to the food preference, in order of vegetable, fish, and meat showed high concentration (p<0.01). To clarify the factors affecting the heavy metal concentration in urine among the subjects, the multiple regression analysis was conducted. As a result, it turned out that as to cadmium content in urine, gender, age, drinking, and smoking have influence on the subjects, with explanatory adequacy of 37.5 %.

        Perceived air quality (PAQ) is defined as evaluation of indoor air satisfaction and comfortable sensory by occupants. However, there are differences between criteria of indoor pollutants and lowest sensory thresholds. In this study, we compared indoor PAQ by questionnaire with measured benzene, toluene and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) concentrations in home indoors. The NO2 concentration was the highest in Seoul, while benzene and toluene were the highest in Asan. Average PAQ score in winter was higher than that in summer. Significant correlations between PAQs of home indoor air pollution and measured pollutant concentrations were not shown and correlation coefficients (r) ranged between -0.453<r<0.258. Several groups have been divided to analyze what may affect PAQ scores such as gender, city, home indoor smoking, passive smoking, and self-reported respiratory symptoms. Gender, city, and self-reported respiratory symptoms by indoor air quality were associated with high PAQ scores by using of logistic regression analysis. We are confirmed that no association between concentrations of home indoor pollutant and PAQ scores. Therefore we further need to develop new indicator indoor air pollutants, measurement, and evaluation by PAQ.

        This study was performed in 30 selected apartments in Seoul, Asan and Daegu area which were constructed within 4 years and over 4 years, to measure the concentration of VOCs(benzene, toluene, xylene) from July, 2004 to September. Mean ratios of indoor to outdoor VOCs concentrations in the construction under 4 years were higher in 1 than average, I/O ratio of over 4 years were lower in 1. This was considered that the VOCs density influences indoor pollutant. For the indoor air quality estimation, the deposition constant and the source strength factor of toluene were 1.49±2.05 hr-1 and 36.95±52.26 ppb/h, respectively.
