        PURPOSES : This paper presents how to determine priorities of RWIS installation on national highways within the limited budget. METHODS : Analytical hierarchy process was employed to develop the entire methodology. In addition to this, various data such as vulnerable roadway section for snow removal, RWIS, AWS, AADT, and traffic accident were properly collected and analyzed for the future analysis. Then, GIS analysis was performed to find out the final candidate vulnerable roadway section for snow removal. In the end, expert survey was conducted to estimate weights for evaluation criteria. RESULTS : Results showed that metropolitan area has the most high priority, and Gangwon area, ChungCheung, and Honam in order. CONCLUSIONS : The main contribution of this paper is to suggest a logical methodology to prioritize RWIS installation within the limited budget, and thus snow removal operation during the winter season can improve in terms of getting more valuable information.

        PURPOSES: Regional offices of the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs use a computerized system called KAMIS so as to manage road equipment systematically. Road agencies can record number of operating days by equipment, actual working hours, accumulated operating hours (or distance) by equipment, and operating cost. However, KAMIS does not provide critical information, although it is strongly related to efficient road management equipment operation. In other words, road agencies do not know whether they have sufficient equipment to handle their actual work. METHODS: Therefore, this study suggests a methodology to evaluate for operational efficiency of road management equipment using analytical hierarchy process(AHP). First of all, estimated weights related criteria can be produced by AHP, and then use operational history by pieces of equipment. RESULTS: Results show that importance of management work can differ from weather conditions through five areas. CONCLUSIONS: Commonly, this results can imply to help save money for the purchase and maintenance of road management equipment, and they would improve the functional performance of KAMIS.

        PURPOSES : This study demonstrates the need for the collection of road weather information in order to perform efficient snow removal works during the winter season. Snow removal operations are usually dependent upon weather information obtained from the Automatic Weather Station provided by the Korea Meteorological Administration. However, there are some difference between road weather and weather forecasts in their scope. This is because general weather forecasts are focused on macroscopic standpoints rather than microscopic perspectives. METHODS : In this study, the relationship between snow removal works and historical weather forecasts are properly analyzed to prove the importance of road weather information. We collected both weather data and snow removal works during winter season at "A" regional offices in Gangwon areas. RESULTS : Results showed that the validation of weather forecasts for snow removal works were depended on the height difference between AWS location and its neighboring roadway. CONCLUSIONS : Namely, it appears that road weather information should be collected where AWS location and its neighboring roadway have relatively big difference in their heights.

        The transcription factor nuclear factor-kB (NF-kB) plays an important role in regulating cell growth, apoptosis, and metastatic functions. Constitutive activation of NF-KB has been observed in various cancers; however, molecular mechanisms resulting in such activation remain elusive. Numerous evidences showed that over expression of TGase 2 might be linked with constitutive activation of NF-KB. To understand the pathways responsible for constitutive activation of NF-kB is important for rational design of NF-kB inhibitors for cancer therapy. Human salivary gland adenocarcinoma has been most aggressive solid tumors. Current therapy does not significantly improve survival rates. Thus, to investigate new therapeutic modalities against this adenocarcinoma is necessary. The purpose of this study was to study a constitutive activation of NF-kB with the expression of TG2 in SGT cell line origianted from human salivary gland adenocarcinoma by TGase 2 activity, RT-PCR and immunoslot blotting method. SGT cell line showed the highest TGase 2 activity and NF-kB activation than any other cell line. All the cell lines showed increased NF-kB mRNA activation after A231027 treatment than that of control. In immunoslot blotting, SGT cell line showed NF-kB activation correlated with TGase 2 expression after A231027 and BSA. It suggested that there might be a direct correlation between TGase 2 expression and NF-kB activation in SGT cell line.

        보수성 포장재가 지표면 열수지와 중규모 순환장에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위하여 수치실험과 야외 관측을 실시하였다. 수치실험에 이용된 모형은 LCM(Local Circulation Model)이며, 야외 관측은 대기가 안정되어 날씨가 맑은 2007년 7월 19일 실시되었다. 야외 관측실험에서 보수성 포장재 지표면 온도의 최대치는 1430 LST에서 41.2˚C이고, 보수성 재료가 도포되어 있지 않은 일반 아스팔트보다 16.1˚C 낮게 관측되었다. 수치실험에서는 증발효율 0.3을 가정한 case BET03에서 관측과 가장 유사한 값을 나타내었다. 이때 현열과 잠열플럭스는 각각 227 와 229 W/m2이다. 수치실험 결과, 보수성 포장재는 낮은 지표면 온도, 혼합고와 관련된 잠열플럭스를 높이는 경향이 나타난다. 보수성 포장재에 의한 잠열플럭스의 불연속은 교외풍과 같은 중규모 순환장의 발달을 강화시키는 역할을 한다.

        국립공원 내 양서류 로드킬(Roadkill) 현황을 파악하기 위해 2006년부터 2008년까지 3년 동안 24개 노선을 대상으로 조사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 총 2목 5과 9종 1,748개체가 차량에 의해 로드킬 된 것으로 나타났으며, 년차별 비교결과 2006년에 비해 2007년, 2008년에 로드킬이 감소한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 3월부터 6월 사이에 북방산개구리, 두꺼비, 물두꺼비가 집중적 피해를 입은 것으로 나타났으며 "산림-하천" 및 "산림-산림" 환경에서 교통사고가 집중 발생하였고, 덕유산국립공원 국도 37호선, 속리산국립공원 지방도 517호선, 오대산국립공원 국도 6호선, 월악산국립공원 지방도 597호선 등 총4개 노선에서 집중적으로 로드킬이 발생하였다. 따라서 이 지역의 주요 로드킬 대상종이 북방산개구리와 물두꺼비로 확인됨에 따라서 이들 종에 대한 저감대책 수립이 시급한 것으로 판단되었다.
