        이 연구는 도라지의 유기재배를 위하여 3년근 이식 예정지에 풋거름 작물 재배에 따른 도라지 뿌리의 생육특성 및 사포닌 함량에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 실시되었다. 생육특성에서는 기재배지에서의 뿌리의 직경 및 곁뿌리 수는 호밀 재배구에서 가장 굵거나 많았으며, 뿌리 생체중은 풋거름작물 재배구간 차이는 없었으나, 대조구에 비해 높게 나타났다. 도라지 뿌리의 무기성분 함량에서는 무기성분별 유의성이 있는 것으로 나타났으며 특히, 기재배지에서의 호밀 처리구에서 높은 함량이 나타났다. 사포닌 함량의 변화에서는 기재배지에서는 호밀 재배구에서 모든 사포닌 함량이 가장 높은 함량으로 나타났으며, 새재배지에서는 헤어리베치 재배구에서 높은 함량을 나타냈다. 대조구에 비해 풋거름작물 재배구의 기재배지와 새재배지 모든 재배구에서 사포닌의 함량이 높게 나타났다. 따라서 도라지 유기재배 시 풋거름작물에 따른 뿌리의 생육 특성 및 약리성의 변화 등의 유의적인 차이가 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 연차 간 재배 시 호밀 재배구에 생육 및 약리성이 우수한 것으로 나타났다.

        This study was conducted to evaluate effects of seeding rate and depth during broadcast sowing on growth and yield of foxtail millet and proso millet over 2 years. The rate of sowing seeds was adjusted to 5, 7, 10 and 20 kg per ha on foxtail millet, and 5, 10, 15 and 30 kg per ha for proso millet. Sowing depth was 0.5, 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 cm used tractor rotary attachment for shallow-tilling. The rate of seedlings standing when foxtail millet and proso millet were sowed to a depth of 0.5~5 cm was 72.0~78.0% and 73.0~80.5%, respectively. Plant height and weight at the three-leaf stage after emergence was highest for the treatment with 3 cm rotary depth. As the rate of broadcast seed sowing increased, plant length, diameter, seed length, and seeds on the panicle decreased. The grain yield of foxtail millet was highest with broadcast seed sowing of 10 kg per ha (3652, 3977 kg ha-1) and proso millet was highest at broadcast seed sowing of 15 kg per ha (2226, 2052 kg ha-1) in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Therefore, the optimum rate of sowed seeds under broadcast cultivation was 10 kg ha-1 for foxtail millet and 15 kg per ha-1 for proso millet. Optimum sowing depth for foxtail and proso millet under broadcast cultivation was 3 cm, using a rotary tractor attachment for shallow-tilling.

        이 연구는 유기농 수수의 곡물과 새싹채소의 주요 기능성 성분인 항산화성분 및 항산화 활성, 일반성분을 알아봄으로써, 수수의 유기농 농산물로써의 다양한 활용방안에 대한 기초 자료로 알아보고자 실시하였다. 수수의 유광 새싹채소는 종자에 비해 조단백질 함량이 2.5배 증가한 것으로 나타났으며, 무기성분에서도 새싹채소에서 1.6~9.87배의 높은 것으로 나타났 다. 항산화 성분 중 총 polyphenol 함량은 유광 새싹채소에서 평균 4,135 mg GAE g-1으로 높 았으나, flavonoid 함량은 종자에서 평균 3.86 mg GAE g-1으로 함유량이 높은 것으로 조사되 었다. ABTS 라디칼 소거활성은 종자에서 평균 15.78 mg TE g-1으로 높게 나타났으며, 유광 새싹채소와 무광 새싹채소에서는 평균간 차이는 나타나지 않았다. DPPH 라디칼 소거활성에 서는 종자에서 평균 15.79 mg TE g-1으로 새싹채소에 비해 11배 이상의 높은 활성이 나타났 다. 특히, ‘동안메’는 황금찰, 남풍찰 및 소담찰에 비해 종자와 새싹채소에서 가장 높은 활성 이 나타내었다. 항산화성분 및 항산화활성은 품종과는 유의성이 없었으나, 광처리와는 매우 높은 유의성을 보였다. 따라서 유기농 항산화 식품 및 천연 항산화제 공급원의 이용시 종자 (‘동안메’)를 이용하는 것이 좋은 것으로 생각된다. 그리고 수수 새싹채소의 영양학적인 유 기농 식품으로써의 이용에 대한 추가연구가 이루어져야 할 것으로 사료된다.

        이 연구는 도라지의 유기재배를 위하여 유기질비료와 화학비료 시용수준에 따른 도라지 뿌리의 생육특성 및 사포닌, 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 실시되었다. 뿌리의 길이와 직경은 50% 유기질비료 처리구와 50% 화학비료 처리구가 가장 길거나 굵게 나타 났으며, 지근의 수와 뿌리생체중은 50% 유기질비료 처리구에서 가장 많거나 무겁게 나타 났다. 사포닌 함량 plantycodin D3 함량에서는 100% 유기질비료 처리구에서 321.7 ㎎/100 g 으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, deapioplatycodin D 함량을 제외한 나머지 사포닌 함량에서 유 기질비료군에서 높은 함량을 나타났으며 특히, 유기질비료 시용량이 많을수록 고함량이 나 타났다. 사포닌 함량과 항산화성분 deapioplatycodin D와 polyphenol, flavonoid와의 상관관계 에서 고도 정의 상관관계를 보였고, 항산화활성인 ABTS 및 DPPH와의 상관관계에서도 고 도 정의 상관관계가 나타났다. 200% 화학비료 처리구(질소기준 3 ㎏/10a)에서는 고사되는 것으로 조사되었다

        Background : Recently, there have been dynamic researches conducted on stevia as natural sweetener subtitute for sugar, However, Researches related to harvest period and parts of plant in stevia are few. Therefore, this study was conducted to select optimum harvest time and parts by measuring the natural sweeteners contents and analyzing antioxidant materials and activity according to harvest times, parts of plant. Methods and Results : Stevia was cultivated in plastic house, The leaves were harvested from April to October and the stem were only harvest in July and September. Stevia leaves and stems were extracted using high temperature and pressure extraction: Dried stevia leaves of 5g were added by 100ml of distilled water equivalent to 20 times of dry weight, and the mixture were extracted by autoclave at 121℃ for 15min. The contents of Rebaudioside A and Stevioside of stevia leaves harvested from April to October showed a tendency to increase gradually from July to October as the temperature increased, but the contents of rebaudioside A and stevioside decreased slightly in August due to excessively high temperature. The extraction yield of stevia leaves were highest in October and September, and there was no significant difference in the other period. In the stevia stems, the extraction yield was lower than that of stevia leaves in general regardless of harvest time. Total phenolic contents and flavonoid contents according to harvest time showed little difference among treatment. Conclution : stevia leaves were better than stevia stems regarding the use of rebaudioside A and stevioside as natural sweeteners. Also, it was confirmed that the stevia leaves of July, September and October, except for the high temperature period of August, had superior in quality and quantity.

        Background : Codonopsis lanceolata is currently used as vegetable, as well as materials for traditional medicines. However, consumers have nagative views on using pesticides and chemical fertilizer in C. lanceolata cultivation. Therefore, this research was conducted to select the appropriate organic fertilizer to improve the growth and saponin components of C. lanceolata by some organic fertilizers application. Methods and Results : Organic fertilizers were applied as 4 types: mixed organic matter, fermentation cake, bacterial culture and rice husks, excluding conventional chemical fertilizer and non-treatment used as control. The result analyzed in soil after fertilizer application showed that soil pH was acidified in fermentation cake and chemical fertilizer treatment, especially, chemical fertilizer treatment showed very high phosphoric-acid content than other treatments, and total N content was higher in fermentation cake, mixed organic matter and chemical fertilizer. Growth of C. lanceolata showed superior tendency in the treatment of mixed organic matter and fermentation cake. Lancemacides could be identified as foetidissimoside A, lancemaside A, lancemaside B, and lancemaside D. However, among them, quantitative analysis could not be conducted on foetidissimoside A due to its very low content, and lancemaside A was the most abundant saponin in the root from all the treatments. The content of lancemaisde A according to organic fertilizer application showed the highest value in the treatment of mixed organic matter, followed by the fermentation cake, bacterial culture, non-treatment, rice husks and chemical fertilizer, in that order. The content of lancemaside B and D was very low compared to lancemaside A, and there was no difference among treatments. Conclusion : The growth of C. lanceolata was superior in application of mixed organic matter and fermentation cake, and the major saponin, lancemaside A, was also increased.

        이 연구는 도라지의 유기재배를 위하여 피복물 처리에 따른 도라지 뿌리의 생육특성 및 사포닌, 항산화 활성에 미치는 영향을 구명하고자 실시되었다. 3년근 도라지를 이식 후, 흑 색 비닐, 톱밥, 쌀겨 및 무피복구의 뿌리의 길이는 비닐, 톱밥, 무피복구에서 24.0~27.5 ㎝로 길었으며, 직경에서는 비닐 피복구에서 가장 굵은 30.0 ㎜로 나타났다. 지근의 수도 비닐 피복구에서 가장 많은 36.0개로 조사되었으며, 수량과 관련성이 있는 생체중은 지근의 수 와 직경이 가장 굵었던 비닐 피복구에서 130 g으로 가장 높게 나타났으며 무피복구에서 56 g으로 가장 낮게 나타났다. plantycodin D3와 deapioplatycodin D 함량은 톱밥 피복구에서 가 장 높게 나타났으며, 도라지의 총 polyphenol 및 flavonoid 함량은 비닐 피복구에서 각각 11.0, 8.6 mg/g으로 가장 높게 나타났다. Polygalacin D와 ABTS와의 상관관계는 -0.591*로 부 의 상관관계를 보였으나, 나머지 성분에서는 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 도 라지 유기 재배 시 피복재료에 따른 뿌리의 특성, 사포닌함량과 항산화성분 등의 유의적인 차이가 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

        This study was conducted to elucidate the effects of mulching materials on root growth characteristics and weed occurrence of Platycodon grandiflorum transplants (3 years old) in organic farming. After transplanting, roots were mulched with one of three mulching materials (biodegradable film, sawdust, or rice husks) or a control (no mulching). The average root diameter of all mulching groups was 28.1 mm, which was 5.1 mm thicker than the no-mulching treatment. Roots with the biodegradable film treatment were the thickest at 30.9 mm. Root length was the shortest, 22.0 cm, with rice husk mulching. The number of rootlets was the highest with film mulching (36.0 rootlets/root) and the lowest with no mulching. For root fresh weight, which directly affects yield, the average of treated and untreated roots was 100 and 56 g/root, respectively. The highest fresh weight was in the biodegradable film plot (130 g/root). The mulching treatment groups showed a weed inhibition effect compared with the no-mulching treatment. The dominant weeds with the no-mulching treatment were Setaria viridis and Digitaria ciliaris, and that with the mulching treatment was Setaria viridis. Average annual weed occurrence across all treatments was 72%. Weed occurrence was the highest with the no-mulching treatment (125 weeds/m 2 ), and there were no weeds with the biodegradable film treatment.

        Background : This study was conducted to serve as a basis for the production of high quality organic cultivation Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix roots by analyzing the content of saponins according to organic fertilizer for organic farming. Methods and Results : Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix was treated by with biodegradable film, rice husks, and sawdust, non-mulching (hand weeding). A root of Platycodon grandiflorum were analyzed saponins using HPLC harvested on October. Content of Plantycodin D3 was an average of 68.5 ㎎/100g, which appeared as 111.2 ㎎/100g highest content in the sawdust treated. Deapioplatycodin D showed the highest 48.1 ㎎/100g in the sawdust treated. The content of Platycodin D was shown to 246.2∼373.8 ㎎/100g, the highest values were observed in non-mulching, it showed the lowest value in the rice husks treated. The content of Polygalacin D showed up to 156.0 ㎎/100g in the non-mulching as the biggest difference, the lowest value were 30.1 and 32.2 ㎎/100g in sawdust and rice husks treated. Large differences between fertilizers was not showed, but the overall saponin content of Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix were low in value compared to the control than organic fertilizers. Conclusion : Large differences between mulching materials was showed, thus the overall saponin content of Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix was highest in value compared to non-mulching than sawdust treatment. Mulching Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix with sawdust was an effective method for improving saponin contents.

        Background : This study was performed to know the effect of mulching materials on the growth and root characteristics of Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix. Methods and Results : Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix was treated by with biodegradable film, rice husks, and sawdust, non-mulching (hand weeding).         This study was conducted to elucidate the effect of organic fertilizer on growth characteristics, saponin contents and antioxident activity of Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix roots for organic farming. As basal fertilizers, chemical fertilizer, mixed organic fertilizer, bacterial cultures and fermented oil cake and decomposed manure were treated based on 3 ㎏/10a level before transplanting Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix. In root length, when chemical fertilizer plot and mixed organic fertilizer plot were treated, root length was recorded the highest scores (25.3 and 24.0 ㎝) Root width was recorded the highest score (26.6 ㎝) in chemical fertilizer plot. The number of fine-roots was the highest in mixed organic fertilizer plot and chemical fertilizer plot (20.0 and 17.0), respectively. Fresh weight, which affects directly yield, was the highest in organic fertilizer plot (55.7 g/plant). The content of Platycodin D was shown to 327.4~373.8 ㎎/100 g, the highest values were observed in organic fertilizer plot. The total polyphenol and flavonoid contents were recorded the highest scores (15.5 and 15.3 mg/g, respectively) in organic fertilizer plot. In this study we confirmed that application of organic fertilizer was effective to increase yield and pharmacological effect through increase of the number of fine-roots with high saponin contents.

        Background: This study determined the effects of mulching, an environment friendly organic cultivation method, on antioxidant compound contents and growth in Codonopsis lanceolata, commonly known as Deodeok. Methods and Results: C. lanceolata was treated by mulching with several different methods (a non-woven fabric, biodegradable film, or rice husks) and also treated with hand weeding. A non-treatment plot was used as a control. The growth and levels of weed control in C. lanceolata were better in plants cultivated under mulching treatments (non-woven fabric, biodegradable film, and rice husks) than in those under non-mulching treatments (hand weeding and non-treatment). The contents of antioxidant compounds, such as total flavonoids, phenolics, and anthocyanins, were highest under the biodegradable film treatment, followed by the nonwoven fabric treatment, rice husks treatment hand weeding, and non-treatment. There were identifiable differences in DPPH and ABTS activity in comparison to antioxidant compound content by solvent fractions. Mulching treatments resulted in higher DPPH scavenging activity in water and ethyl ether fractions and ABTS scavenging activity in n-butanol fractions than in other fractions, as opposed to hand weeding and non-treatment groups, although total activity of DPPH and ABTS did not increase with mulching treatments. Conclusions: Mulching C. lanceolata with biodegradable film and non-woven fabric is an effective method for improving plant growth and inhibiting the occurrence of weeds as well as for increasing antioxidant compound content and altering antioxidant activity.

        This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of plant number per hill (PNH) on growth and yield of foxtail millet in drained paddy fields. Crop growth, development, and yield in the field were examined for 2 years to assess the efficiency of proposed cropping system. The greatest culm length of 138 and 148 cm in the first and the second year, respectively, at the harvest stage was observed in plots with one plant per hill. The greatest culm diameter of 7.79 and 7.67 mm in the first and second year, respectively, was measured in plots with one plant per hill. The greatest tiller number of foxtail millet in plots with one plant per hill was 2.9 and 2.7 in the first and the second year, respectively. However, there was no significant difference between plots with four and five plant per hill. Among the measured yield components, the spike length and seed number per spike were one plant per hill in both years. The highest grain yield of foxtail millet (324 kg ․ 10a -1 and 333 kg ․ 10a -1 in the first and second year, respectively) was obtained from plots with two plants por hill, followed by plots one, three, four, and five plants per hill.

        Background : The root of Platycodin grandiflorum has been widely used as a crude drug or a dependent on the cultivation area and cultivation method. Therefore, this study was conducted to know the effect of organic fertilizer on the changes of antioxidents and antioxidant activity of Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix. Methods and Results : As basal fertilizer were treated before transplanting Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix with chemical fertilizer(Super21, 21-17-17, Namhae Chemical), mixed organic fertilizer, bacterial culture, fermented oil cake and manure in each trial of nitrogen based on 3㎏/10a criteria. The total polyphenol content was highest values were 15.5mg/g appear in the mixed organic fertilizers, the lowest were 9.1mg/g appeared in the manure and control. Flavonoid content showed the highest 15.3 mg/g in the mixed organic fertilizer, and investigated at the lowest 5.0 mg/g in the fermented oil cake. ABTS radical scavenging activity was the highest in was 65.7 mgTE/g in the chemical fertilizer, showed the lowest value in the control to 13.0 mgTE/g. Therefore, both flavonoid and polyphenol content showed a high value on organic fertilizers. Conclusion : Therefore, both flavonoid and polyphenol content showed a high value on organic fertilizers. It is determined that to have researches for a variety of antioxidants by the organic fertilizers made in the future.

The content of Polygalacin D showed up to 336.7 ㎎/100g in the manure as the biggest difference, the lowest value were 54.5 and 74.2 ㎎/100g in bacterial cultures and control. Large differences between fertilizers was not showed, but the overall saponin content of Platycodin grandiflorum Ridix were low in value compared to the control than organic fertilizers. Conclusion : For the increasing the yield that Pharmacological effect, organic fertilizer is effective to increase the number of fine-root high which high contented with saponins.
