        Physical, chemical and biological surveys on Nakdong River estuary were made from October, 1985 to September, 1986. 1. For all the seasons except summer, the sea surface temperature in northwest area of the line which linked from Seo Island to Jisim Island was I-2˚C lower than in southeast area, but in summer the sea surface temperature in northwest area was I-2˚C higher than in southeast area. On the contrary, bottom temperature of coastal area was 1˚C higher than that of oceanic area except winter. 2. Surface salinity in summer and fall has minimum value of 1. 9%0 and maximum value of 32.9%0. This large variation was caused by the runoff of the Nakdong River. Effect of less saline Nakdong River water in northwest area of the line which linked from Seo Island to Jisim Island was greater than in southeast area. A strong current rip always formed near this line. 3. The yellowish-green colored zone was observed in the Nakdong River estuary throughout the year by influence of river discharge. The characteristics of the water quality in the zone have shown that the water color was grade 7 by the Forel water-color meter, transparency was less than 4 m, and concentration of suspended solids was more than 5 mg/1. This water body was in the state of eutrophication in terms of chlorophyll-a and inorganic nitrogen concentration during summer season. 4. During the study period, total 276 taxa were identified. Most of them were diatoms and dinoflagellates which consisted of 97.5%. The component ratio of the above two groups was 84.4% and 13.1 % respectively. Diatoms were plentiful in December and dinoflagellates in July. Dominant species were Nitzschia seriata in October, Thalassiosira rotula in December, Skeletoncma costatum in April, and Nitzschia longissima in July. 5. A total of 47 zooplankton taxa was identified from the samples collected. Copepods were numerically the most important components of zooplankton communities in the study area. The domir:ant copepod species were Paracalanus parvus, Acartia clausi and Temora turbinata. Noctiluca scintillans was the next important component. The other zooplankton with minor abundance were Cladocera. Sagitta spp., Cnidaria, Mysidacea, Lucifer spp. and Amphipoda. 6. During the study period, fishes from 47 families and 87 species were sampled in th~ study area. The four most abundant fish species were Rep~mucen//'s valencicnnei, Leiognathus n~cha!is, Amblychaeturicllthys hexanema and Sardirel/a zun:zsi. The fish species of the secondary importance in abundance were Cynoglossus joyneri, Sillago sihama, Engra~lis japonicus, Encdrias nebulos'l, Acanthogobius flavimanus, Trichiurus lepturus, LiParis tanai/ai, Cynagloss//'s interruptus, Aj)ogon line:z!us, Thrissz la 1l.'1la!ensis, and Limanda yokohamac.

        Oceanography of the Subarctic North Pacific Ocean is reviewed. The submarine topography and the current systems in the region are explained. Recent serial observation data reveals that. though the upper mixed layer of low salinity is relatively thick. the pattern of the property distribution in winter is essencially similar to that in summer. Alaskan Stream Extension Water. which influences the abundance and the location of demersal fishes. extends northward to 58˚ N Lat in the Bering Sea. A southeastward intrusion of the Bering Borcal Cold Water causes the formation of a sharp oceanic front. where the demersal fishes such as Alaska pollacks and cods arc concentrated. The Alaska pollacks seem to avoid the low salinity water of the Alaskan Coastal Water.

        해안 지역에 시공된 철근 콘크리트 구조물은 해수 중의 염소 이온에 의해 내부 철근이 부식하게 된다. 특히 해안지역에서는 해수에 침지되는 경우뿐만 아니라 조수간만 및 비래염분의 영향을 받기 때문에 이에 대한 고려가 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 3가지 수준의 노출 환경(침지대, 간만대, 비말대)과 노출기간 180일, 365일, 730일을 고려하여 해양환경노출실험을 실시하였다. 대상 배합은 3가지 수준의 물-결합재 비 및 2가지 수준의 플라이애시 치환률(0 %, 30 %)을 고려하여 설정하였다. 모든 노출조건에서 플라이 애시 치환 배합이 OPC 배합 대비 낮은 겉보기 염화물 확산계수를 나타내었으며, 이는 플라이애시의 포졸란 반응이 원인으로 사료된다. 플라이애시 배합은 노출 기간 180일에서는 플라이애시 치환 배합이 OPC 배합 대비 최대 63 5 %의 감소율을, 노출 기간 730일 에서는 최대 55.8 %의 감소율을 나타내었다. 노출 조건에 따른 확산계수 거동을 평가한 결과, 플라이애시 치환 배합에서는 간만대, 침지대, 비말대 순으로 확산계수가 평가되었다. 간만대에서는 건습이 반복되어 염화물 이온의 침투가 빠르게 일어나는 것으로 보인다.

To estimate the local atmospheric corrosion environments depending on structural member exposed to the marine environment, corrosion level of structural member in steel bridge was examined from exposure tests.

Also its installed environmental condition may differ depending on the shape of structural member. Therefore, In this study, to evaluate the difference in the corrosion damage according to the installation environment of steel structural members, outdoor exposure test was carried out from attaching unpainted monitoring plate and atmospheric corrosion monitoring sensor for actual steel bridge with various structural detail.

        This study investigates the coating deterioration of water-borne inorganic zine under marine environment. In order to evaluate the corrosion environment at installed site, the corrosion currents were measured by atmospheric corrosion monitoring(ACM) sensor. The deterioration grade of water-borne inorganic zine was investigated by visual inspection method depending on ASTM D610. The deterioration grade of structural member was compared based on corrosion environment such as wet time, amount of deposited salt etc.

        국가물류경제의 중축산업인 항만의 지속가능한 운영과 개발을 위해서는 인프라 확충을 통한 경쟁력확보와 더불어 대기오염, 수질 오염, 소음 및 생태계 파괴 등의 항만환경문제로 인한 지역커뮤니티와의 갈등해소가 더 중요한 요소로 부각되고 있다. 우리나라 부산 신항만 개발사업의 경우도 신항만 공사용 바다모래 채취로 인한 어민들과의 갈등 때문에 항만공사가 중단된 경험이 있으며, 그 주요 원인으로 현행 어업피해조사제도를 포함한 항만환경피해에 대한 정량적인 영향성 평가법의 부재와 한계라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 주목적은 우리나라 항만의 지속가능한 항만운영 및 개발을 위한 효율적인 항만환경관리에 필수적인 정량적 환경영향성평가 방안의 제시에 있다. 이를 위해 국내 외 항만의 환경정책과 사례분석을 통해 전반적인 항만환경문제와 그 영향(피해)에 대해서 살펴보고, 피해를 입은 환경재와 서비스의 전체적 경제적 가치를 평가할 수 있는 경제적 가치평가법을 제시하였다. 제시된 방법론 중에서 부산 신항만 개발로 따른 정박지 지정으로 인한 해양 생태계 서비스 피해 사례에 대해 보다 과학적으로 추정할 수 있는 Habitat Equivalency Analysis(HEA)를 적용하여, 예시적인 피해액을 추정 하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로, 제시된 항만환경피해에 대한 경제적 영향성평가방법론의 제도적 도입을 통하여 보다 효율적인 항만환경관 리방안을 제시하였다.

        We analyzed with HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) analysis photosynthetic pigments and environmental factors, microscopic observations of the phytoplankton and zooplankton in the seawater every month from February 2009 to November 2010 in Haengam Bay. The level of dissolved inorganic nutrients was the highest between July and September, when freshwater influx was at its peak, whereas chlorophyll a levels were the highest in April and August. Also, phytoplankton pigment concentration increased when dissolved inorganic nutrients are carried into nearshore waters by rainfall runoff. Based on identification of phytoplankton and photosynthetic pigments results, diatoms were mainly dominant while dinoflagellate populations increased at July and August 2009, May 2010. The zooplankton communities are dominated in terms of Noctiluca scintillans. The contribution of Noctiluca scintillans in 2010 accounts for approximately 77.3% of the total zooplankton. Distribution patterns over time of zooplankton in the seasonal distribution of phytoplankton showed a different pattern.

        In this study, the tensile properties of FRP in the oceanic environment were compared. The tensile properties at room temperature and sea water temperature were compared and the tensile properties according to the the salt stress permeation duration are compared. It is appeared that the difference in the tensile properties of composite materials due to the temperature difference very little, and it is appeared that the tensile difference due to salt stress permeation by the types of glass fiber has a difference.

        A ecosystem model was applied for understanding of circulation process of state variables in marine ecosystem. A mass balance was conducted by calculating the physical process. The sensitivity analysis was conducted to know which coefficient is the most effective factor to the state variables in the model. The results of the mass balance indicate that the primary production was 58.6 ton C/day in the case of mass flux. DIN and DIP in nutrient ingestion of phytoplankton were each 7.9 ton N/day, 1.1 ton P/day. POC and DOC in mineralization of organic matter were each 10.8 ton C/day, 40.6 ton C/day. The results of sensitivity analysis showed that the maximum growth rate of phytoplankton was the most important factor for overall state variables. In the case of nutrients, Half saturation constant of DIN, and mineralization rate of DOM for COD were important factor.

        본 연구는 우리나라의 대표적인 해항도시이며, 우리나라의 해양수도 및 동북아 관문항을 지향하는 부산광역시와 인천광역시의 해양환경 관리실태를 비교 분석하고 이의 제고방안을 모색하고자 하였다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 해양환경지표로서 수온(C), 염분(‰), 수소이온농도(PH), 용존산소(DO: mg/l), 화학적 산소요구량(COD: mg/l), 용존무기질소(DIN: mg/l), 총질소(T-N: mg/l), 용존무기인(DIP: mg/l), 총인(T-P: mgp/ml), 규산규소(Sio2-Si), 부유물질(mg/l), 클로로필(Chi-a: μg/l) 등의 총 12개 지표들을 사용하였다. 연구의 결과, 부산광역시와 인천광역시의 경우 2000년도부터 2003년도까지는 해양환경상태가 악화되는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부산광역시 및 인천광역시의 해양환경상태를 악화시키고 있는 해양환경지표는 총질소, 용존무기인, 총인 등으로 나타났고, 이들 해양환경지표들은 해가 갈수록 악화되고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

        Mass mortalities of cultivated organisms have occurred frequently in Korean coastal waters causing enormous losses to cultivating industry. The preventive measures require continuous observation of farm environment and real-time provision of data. However, line hanging aquaculture farm are generally located far from monitoring buoys and has limitations on installation of heavy equipments. Substituting battery pack for solar panels and miniaturizing size of buoy, newly developed system can be attached to long line hanging aquaculture farm. This system could deliver measured data to users in real-time and contribute to damage mitigation and prevention from mass mortalities as well as finding their causes. The system was installed off Gijang and Yeongdeck in Korea, measuring and transmitting seawater temperature at the sea surface every 30 minutes. Short term variation of seawater temperature, less than one day, in Gijang from June to July 2009 corresponded tidal period of about 12 hours and long term variation seemed to be caused by cold water southeast coast of Korea, particularly northeast of Gijang. Seawater temperature differences between Gijang station and the other station that is about 500 m away from Gijang station were 1 ℃ on average. This fact indicates that it is need to be pay attention to use substitute data even if it is close to the station. Daily range of seawater temperature, one of crucial information to aquaculture, can be obtained from this system because temperature were measured every 30 minutes. Averages of daily range of temperature off Gijang and Yeongdeok during each observation periods were about 2.9 ℃ and 4.7 ℃ respectively. Dominant period of seawater temperature variation off Yeongdeok was one day with the lowest peak at 5 a.m. and the highest one at 5 p.m. generally, resulting from solar radiation.

        본 연구는 해양특별시의 설치를 최고의 당면과제로 추진하고 있는 부산광역시의 해양환경관리 자치역량를 분석한 논문이며, 연구방법으로는 Lester(1990)가 주장하는 환경자치의 역량분석기법을 사용하였다. Lester(1990)의 연구방법에 따라 본 연구에서는 분석의 변수로서 자치단체장의 의지와 물적 토대 통을 사용하였다. 먼저 자치단체장의 의지를 분석한 결과, 부산광역시장과 관계공무원의 해양과 환경에 대한 관심도는 우리나라 제1의 해양토시라는 특수성에 비추어 비교적 낫은 수준이었다. 그리고 물적 토대를 측정하기 위하여 담당공무원수와 해양환경예산규모를 다른 7대 광역시와 비교한 결과, 다른 대도시에 비하여 높지 않은 수준이었다. 결론적으로 부산광역시의 해양환경관리 자치역량 수준은 퇴보형이거나 아니면 지체형에 속한다고 판단할 수 있었다.

        To investigate correlation between the distribution of marine bacteria and environmental characteristics in the surface sediments of Kamak Bay, chemical oxygen demand(COD), acid volatile sulfide(AVS), ignition loss(IL), total organic carbon(TOC), and total organic nitrogen(TON) were measured and analyzed at 7 stations in winter and summer. In winter, COD and AVS ranged from 13.45 mg/g to 30.06 mg/g(average: 23.58 mg/g) and from 0.03 mg/g to 1.04 mg/g(average: 0.63 mg/g), respectively. IL, TOC, and TON ranged from 8.03% to 11.41%(average: 9.41%), from 1.17% to 2.10%(average: 1.62%), and from 0.09% to 0.18%(average 0.15%), respectively. In summer, COD, AVS, IL, TOC, and TON ranged from 14.06 mg/g to 32.19 mg/g(average: 24.71 mg/g), from 0.03 mg/g to 1.11 mg/g(average: 0.66 mg/g), from 9.00% to 12.15%(average: 10.96%), from 1.27% to 2.12%(average 1.77%), and from 0.12% to 0.19%(average: 0.16%), respectively. These values were relatively higher than those in winter. Kamak Bay had high C/N ratio that might be resulted from the input of terrestrial sewage and industrial wastewater. The number of marine viable bacteria was 8.9 × 104 cfu/g in winter and 9.7 × 105 cfu/g in summer. The most abundant species were Pseudomonas spp., Flavobacterium spp., and Vibrio spp. in the surface sediments of Kamak Bay. It was found that the concentration of organic matters and viable bacterial cells in the inner part were relatively higher than those in the outer of Kamak Bay. The distribution of viable bacterial cells was closely influenced by environmental factors.
