The internet is "an information flea market" in which people can easily access online magazines, world information and discussion groups. Electronic mail is fast becoming an essential tool for communication. However, it does not only deal with information and communication. A new vocabulary is showing up, such as, the world of cyberspace "and electronic community" which indicate the occurrence of a new type of life and perception called, the virtual world. Virtual means "almost as good as real" or even better than real. Virtua l reality creates an electronic environment-cyberspace that engages the senses so vividly that it feels reaL" Many people in the coming age will live in this space. This cyberspace is different from mass communication in that "it allows one the opportunity to speak as though to one person, yet reach millions."

Automated manufacturing systems are applied to shop floors as a tool for the increase of productivity and quality and the decrease of manufacturing lead times and industry accidents. One of the most important issue of the present day is the application of Internet. The development of Internet technologies makes manufacturing enterprises break spacial barriers between users and shop floors, and collect various field data in remote sites. In this research, an Internet-based remote control system for a small-sized automated storage and retrieval system is developed for the purpose of real-time monitoring and control of automatic production equipment. The developed system has a client-server architecture and transmits real-time images of the automated storage and retrieval system to a client by ar CCD camera connected to a server. Based on the transmitted images, the client sends commands to PLC of the server, and part storage and retrieval tasks are executed.

Progressive mesh representation and generation have become one of the most important issues in network-based computer graphics. However, current researches are mostly focused on triangular mesh models. On the other hand, solid models are widely used in industry and are applied to advanced applications such as product design and virtual assembly. Moreover, as the demand to share and transmit these solid models over the network is emerging, the representation and the generation of progressive solid models depending on specific engineering needs and purpose are essential. In this paper, we present a Cellular Topology-based approach to generating progressive solid models from a feature-based solid model. The proposed approach introduces a new scheme for storing and transmitting solid models over the network. The Cellular Topology approach makes it possible to effectively generate progressive solid models and to efficiently transmit the models over the network.

This paper describes "the remote automatic diagnosis and repair system which automatically reads the problems such as "out of order" occurred on equipment at customer's equipment from a remote computer center using HTTP(hyper text transfer protocol). It shows the scheme of the network configurations and features of the system. In addition, a way to implement the overall system, the specific functions of unit, and the operational specifications between the center's computer and customer's computer are also presented.also presented.

무선인터넷을 이용한 고객관리는 고객에게 더욱더 세분화된 서비스를 제공할 수 있으며, 고급화된 서비스를 제공함으로써 고객의 만족과 구매욕구를 증진시킬 수 있다. 하지만, 개인화된 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 고객에 대한 패턴 연구 및 세분화 작업이 먼저 이루어져야 한다 이러한 작업을 위한 다양한 연구중 한 분야가 웹 로그를 이용한 사용자는 패턴분석일 것이다. 본 연구에서는 웹 로그 분석을 통한 주요 컨텐츠를 추출하는 과정 및 예제시스템의 구현 방향에 대해서 알아보고자 한다.

This paper proposes structural analysis on the World Wide Web to form a part of the architectural design project. It purposes modeling space frames and a structural analysis program on the internet only by inputting basic data for forming a shape in the whole phase of space frame analysis. The analysis data is conducted by Oracle DBMS(DataBase Management System), GUI(Graphic User Internet) by Java Applet and connection with server and database by Java Servlet respectively. The result from modeling and analysis is provided as graphic and text file forms by web browsers. Programs can be executed irrespective of user's OS by using internet and highly-secured system is constructed taking advantage of Java. Of great efficiency is maintaining and recycling data as the whole is dealt by database from the beginning to the end of program.
