        In this study, We studied design method to reduce scattering reflection by adding a three - dimensional structure to light guide plate of LED backlight widely used in small and portable devices. In order to improve the efficiency of the light-incident part, a three-dimensional structure is used in which a repetitive structure of a prism shape and a semi-cylindrical shape is repeatedly added to the light-entering face in light-guide plate. As a result of the study, it was found that uniform luminance values were obtained in the light-incident portion and the backlight when a repetitive pattern of a semi-cylindrical shape was added as compared with a case in which a prism shape was added. Particularly, when a rectangular lens with a semi-cylindrical shape is added, the average value of the total luminance is increased by about 15% from 7278 lm to 8324 lm as compared with a general light guide plate.

        PURPOSES : This study aims to survey and analyze the status of the design and completion documents output delivery system in public construction projects in order to assess the problems of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT)'s electronic delivery system, with a focus on roads and rivers, and to offer improvement measures. METHODS: This study first surveys and analyzes laws and existing study trends with regard to the design and completion documents output delivery system in public construction projects. It further analyzes the status of the output delivery system in public construction projects, including roads, rivers, expressways, water resources, and railroads. In addition, a comparative analysis of the current electronic delivery system of MOLIT and Korea Expressway Corporation in the road field is conducted, and the problems and improvement measures for MOLIT's electronic output delivery system are presented. This study seeks to analyze problems and prepare improvement measures with regard to road and river public construction projects, as ordered by MOLIT’s five regional offices. RESULTS: This study sought to prepare the electronic output delivery system with regard to public construction projects and present the analysis of its major problems and improvement measures in four categories: “the preparation of electronic design documents output delivery system improvement measures including inspection and delivery,”“preparation of guidelines, systems, etc., concerning electronic design documents,”“preparation of improvement measures for the construction project management system and electronic design document support tools”, and “linking of MOLIT's electronic output delivery system with relevant agencies and the expansion thereof to local governments.” CONCLUSIONS : This study analyzed the current status and problems of the MOLIT's electronic output delivery system in the field of road and river construction projects, and presented corresponding improvement measures. This study is expected to address the problems of the MOLIT's electronic output delivery system, and to provide the foundation for the preparation of an efficient electronic output delivery system for design and completion documents. In addition, this study is expected to boost the quality and utilization of the electronic design documents output, and to exchange, share, and link construction information among relevant agencies so as to prepare the foundation for sharing construction information.

        This thesis provides background information on DFS carried out by the government in an effort to reduce the accident rate, cases of DFS in other advanced countries to study their risk detection, risk assessment, risk control measures, and cases in which application of DFS during the designing phase succesfully led to reduction of the accident rate. Till now, the focus has been on incident responses after the occurance of accidents, it describes the importance of considering safety during the desining process through safety results and cases.

        PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to develop a simple regression model in designing the asphalt concrete (AC) overlay thickness using the Mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide (MEPDG) program. METHODS: To establish the AC overlay design equation, multiple regression analyses were performed based on the synthetic database for AC thickness design, which was generated using the MEPDG program. The climate in Seoul city, a modified Hirsh model for determining dynamic modulus of asphalt material, and a new damaged master curve approach were used in this study. Meanwhile, the proposed rutting model developed in Seoul city was then used to calibrate the rutting model in the MEPDG program. The AC overlay design equation is a function of the total AC thickness, the ratio of AC overlay thickness and existing AC thickness, the ratio of existing AC modulus and AC overlay modulus, the subgrade condition, and the annual average daily truck traffic (AADTT). RESULTS: The regression model was verified by comparing the predicted AC thickness, the AADTT from the model and the MEPDG. The regression model shows a correlation coefficient of 0.98 in determining the AC thickness and 0.97 in determining AADTT. In addition, the data in Seoul city was used to validate the regression model. The result shows that correlation coefficient between the predicted and measured AADTT is 0.64. This indicates that the current model is more accuracy than the previous study which showed a correlation coefficient of 0.427. CONCLUSIONS: The high correlation coefficient values indicate that the regression equations can predict the AC thickness accurately.

        최근 총톤수 16만 톤급 이상의 대형 크루즈선이 국내 항에 정기입항하고 있다. 크루즈를 이용한 국내 관광객이 증가함에 따라 정부에서는 크루즈산업 활성화를 위해 항만기반시설 확충에 많은 노력을 하고 있다. 현재 국내 주요 항구에서 크루즈전용부두 공 사가 진행되고 있다. 그러나 국내 항만 및 어항설계기준에는 크루즈선 및 접안시설에 대한 표준제원이 제시되어있지 않다. 대상선박의 표준제원이 제시되어있지 않아 전용시설물 설계 및 인허가에 많은 어려움이 예상된다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 크루즈선에 대한 표준제 원을 제시하기 위하여 현재 운항중인 크루즈선의 톤수별 대표선형의 제원을 분석하고 PIANC 사례 및 국내 항설기준을 비교분석 하였 다. 분석결과 크루즈선은 연안여객선과 선박제원 및 선박조종성능에 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 크루즈 전용시설물 설계를 위해서는 반드시 대상선박의 제원이 국내항설기준에 반드시 포함되어야 한다. 그리고 선박의 범위를 산정하기 위하여 크루즈선 평균 제원 값에 커버율(75%)을 적용하여 크루즈선 표준제원과 수역시설물에 대한 기준을 제시하였다.

        In military, empty cartridge recovery case of personal small arms is a device used to collect the empty cartridge after consumption of bullets. It has different shapes depending on the shape of small arms. However, It should be designed in a shape that wraps around the outlet for empty cartridge and it should be no restrictions to the movement of small arms. It has been used to spread military. but military is demanding design improvement due to frequent damage of empty cartridge recovery case. In this report, We improved the shape of the product in order to prevent damage to the product and verified through the FEM analysis and prototype test. According to the result of simulation, best modified modelling of this study has been reduced about 19% of the stress compared to initial modelling. In addition, modified products were confirmed durability, wearability and fixability through fire test.

        저영향개발(Low Impact Development, LID)이란 개발로 인해 변화하는 물순환 상태를 자연친화적인 기법을 활용하여 최대한 개발 이전과 유사한 상태를 유지하도록 하는 개념을 의미한다. 최근에는 이러한 LID를 고려한 계획・설계에 대해 주목하고 있으며 여러 신도시를 중심으로 적용이 이루어지고 있지만 기 존도시에 LID를 적용하기 위한 계획・설계는 전무한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 기존도시에 전체강우의 약 85%이상을 저감을 목표로 LID 시범단지를 계획・설계 하였다. 현재 Retrofit 차원의 LID 설계프로세스는 정립되어 있지 않기 때문에 기존의 유사연구 내용을 종합분석하여 도출한 설계프로세스를 적용하였다. 하 지만, 시범단지규모가 협소하여 현장조사 외의 자료는 사용이 어려웠고, 1:5,000 도면을 활용한 우배수 현황 분석은 실제와 다른 결과를 도출하였다. 또한, 도입된 LID 시설별 소유역 선정이 매우 어려웠고, LID 시설의 표준 형태만으로는 경관개선 및 생태기능 향상에 다소 어려움이 발생하는 등 여러 가지 문제 점들이 도출되었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 이러한 문제점들을 보완하여 시범단지 설계를 개선하였고, Retrofit 차원의 LID 설계프로세스를 제시하였다. 설계된 LID 시범단지의 대상지 총면적은 42,170m2로 투수가 가능한 면적은 17,868m2이고, 불투수면적은 24,302m2로 전체 면적 중 불투수면이 약 57.6% 로 나타났다. LID 기법을 적용하였을 경우, 투수면적은 29,645m2이고, 불투수면적은 12,526m2로 약 29.7% 로 나타나 LID 기법적용 시 약 48.5%의 불투수면적이 감소하였다. 특히 차도(주차장) 및 보도에 적용된 투수블럭의 경우 불투수면적 감소면적의 약 80%를 차지하여 적용된 LID 요소기술 중 가장 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

        This study was carried out in order to evaluate the design suitability of gas scrubbers, which have been operated in Siheung and Ansan Smarthubs, as an odor removal device. Detailed design data of 31 gas scrubbers installed between 2005 to 2014 were investigated. All the scrubbers investigated were found to use a “packed bed” design, and 30 of them used pall rings as packing materials. In determining the bed diameter of scrubbers, many facilities used incorrect packing parameters, which resulted in inappropriate design values for the bed diameter. In determining of the height of packed bed, the height of transfer unit (HTU) was calculated incorrectly because of the misuse of both the constants of packing materials and Schmidt numbers. In addition, the values of number of transfer unit (NTU) were found to be underestimated due to the low removal efficiency goal. Therefore, the adapted values of packed bed height were quite different from the ones calculated in many facilities.

        The finite element analysis of large sized rectangular water tank structures made of stainless steel materials is carried out for various combined load cases. The combined load cases for a large size of 5,000ton are further determined using the specification(KS B 6283) established from the Korean Standards Association. For the better numerical efficiency, the rectangular panels are modelled using the ANSYS program. The numerical results obtained for different load cases show as follows. In order to resist the snow load, it takes the influence of the gap than the size of the column. Also, in order to resist the water pressure, it shall increase the thickness of the wall. But, increasing the thickness of the wall is considerably less economical. Therefore, the angle with big thickness should be placed right next to the wall.

        In this paper, we developed the hydraulic leveling jack(HLJ) with double-tube type structure which could be applicable to excessive lateral load area. In order to develop HLJ, the design requirements, such as the vertical and lateral loads where applied to hydraulic jack, were selected. To verify the structural stability of the HLJ, the structure analysis was performed. In order to verify the operational performance and structural stability of the developed HLJ, test bench was designed. The performance of HLJ was verified via various test using test bench.

        This paper reviews the current seismic design code and research for dynamic earth pressure on retaining structures. Domestic design codes do not clearly define the estimation of dynamic earth pressure and give different comments for seismic coefficient, wall inertia and distribution of dynamic earth pressure using Mononobe-Okabe method. AASHTO has been revised reflecting current research and aims for effective seismic design. Various design codes are analyzed to compare their performance and economic efficiency. The results are used to make improvement of current domestic seismic design code. Further, it is concluded that the experimental investigation is also needed to verify and improve domestic seismic code for dynamic earth pressure.

        The representative emission index and indicator are the EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index) for the new ships and EEOI (Energy Efficiency Operational Indicator) during the voyage. In this paper, derating of diesel main engine are introduced for the purpose of improving EEDI. The results showed good agreement explaining the characteristics properly.

        A CCTV inspection method has been widely used to assess sewer condition and performance, but Korea lacks a proper decision support system for prioritizing sewer repair and rehabilitation (R&R). The objective of this paper is to introduce the results that we have developed in the Sewer Condition Assessment and Rehabilitation Decision-making (SCARD) Program using MS-EXCEL. The SCARD-Program is based on a standardized defect score for sewer structural and hydraulic assessment. Priorities are ranked based on risk scores, which are calculated by multiplying the sewer severity scores by the environmental impacts. This program is composed of three parts, which are decision-making for sewer condition and performance assessment, decision-making for sewer R&R priority assessment, and decision-making for optimal budget allocation. The SCARD-Program is useful for decision-makers, as it enables them to assess the sewer condition and to prioritize sewer R&R within the limited annual budget. In the future, this program logic will applied to the GIS-based sewer asset management system in local governments.

        Performance based design(PBD) is the method to make a fire safety design against them after predicting the factors of fire risk in a building. Therefore, predicting fire risk in a building is very important process in PBD. For predicting fire risk of a building, an engineer of PBD must consider various factors such as ignition location, ignition point, ignition source, first ignited item, second ignited item, flash over, the state of door and fire suppression system. But, it is difficult to trust fire safety capacity of the design because the process in Korea' PBD is unprofessional and unreasonable. This paper had surveyed some cases of PBD that had been made in Korea to find the problems of the process to predict fire risk. And it have proposed the improvements of process to predict fire risk of a building.
