        This study examined the consumers' awareness and information need toward the irradiated foods and environmental hormones. The data were collected from 350 adults living in Daegu and Busan by the self-administered questionnaire. Frequencies and chi-square tests were conducted by SPSS. The results of the survey were as follows: (1) consumers' awareness regarding the irradiated foods and environmental hormones were low, while consumers' concerns for them were high, (2) the orders of the information needs for the irradiated foods are safety of irradiated foods, dose permitted for food irradiation, benefits of irradiated foods, kinds of permitted irradiated foods, and legislations of food irradiation, and (3) the orders of the information needs for the environmental hormones are harmfulness of environmental hormones, standards for contamination by environmental hormones, materials releasing environmental hormones, methods to prevent environmental hormones, and kinds of environmental hormones.

        Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of cognitive function and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) improvement with Traumatic Brain Injury(TBI) and Stroke patient through Computer Assisted Cognitive Rehabilitation (CACR) program within specific approach and hierarchial approach training program. For this investigation CACR training was administered to 14 patients diagnosed of TBI and Stroke. Method: The CACR was given to the subject patient for 1months, 5times a week and each stimulation lasted 30 minutes. Cognitive function and activities of daily living were compared pre-CACR program with post-CACR program by MMSE and FIM . Results: Summarizing the results of this investigation; 1. Statistically significant improvement in 8 items of MMSE and 11 items of FIM was found after the application of CACR program training. 2. Cognitive function showed the spastically significant improvement after CACR program within specific approach and hierarchial approach training program 3. Activities of daily living showed the statistically significant improvement after CACR program within specific approach and hierarchial approach especially hierarchial approach more statistically significant increased than specific approach.

        This article traces the process in which gender-specific approach was emerged to rehabilitate female offenders in the United States and introduces a few promising gender specific programs for female juvenile delinquents. Gender-specific services refer according to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention(OJJDP) the correctional services that are designed to meet the unque needs of female offenders; that value the female perspective; that celebrate and honor the female experience; that respect and take into account female development; that empower girls and young women to reach their full potential; and that work to change established attitudes that prevent or discourage girls and young women from reaching their potential. The emergence of the gender-specific approach can be explained by two factors. empirically, female offenders, especially female delinquents, have been one of the fastest growing criminal population since the 1900s. Correctional personnel recognised the role of gender-sensitive correctional programming to curtail the size of female delinquent population. They realized many current services for juveniles are aimed at the rehabilitation and education of male delinquents. Second, many criminological research based on feminist perspective have found that female offenders are quite different from male offenders in various ways; girls are incarcerated for status offenses that boys; girls develop self-esteem and female identity differently; girls are pressured to conform the traditional gender roles and the gender stereotyping plays a central role in creating female delinquents; girls have gender unique problems such as physical, sexual abuse, domestic violence and adolescent pregnancy. The combination of these two trends resulted in the amendment of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act, in which states should review the issue of gender bias in the current juvenile correctional programs before receiving federal

        Traditional Korean beverage can be divided into Jang, Gahl Soo, Mi Su, Soo Jung Gwa, Shick Hae, Tahng, Hwa Chae, Sook Su, and Tea according to ingredients and how it is proccessed. The purpose of this study was to investigate the Korean beverage percetpion and to analyze the factors (sociodemographic factors and life-style related factors) which influence percetpion of Korean beverage. Questionnaries were hand delivered to 2,200 subject residing in Seoul and 1,884 questionnaris were collected : resulting in 84% response rate. Statistical data analysis was completed using SAS Package program for the analysis of covariance(ANOCOVA).The results are as follows: (a) Survey on Korean beverage perception showed that the recognition rates of ShickHae(58.4%), Cition Tea(53.5%), Sung Nung(48.7%) and Soo Jung Gwa(40.8%) were high, whereas those for Tahng, Jang, and Gahl Soo were low.(b) About 40% of respondents performing 4 kinds of Korean traditional ceremony a year The percentage that reported they purchased Korean beverages was 44.0%, higher than the 38.5% that answered they made Korean beverage at home.(c) In analyzing the factors which influence beverage perception, the sociodemographic factors variously influenced perception rate depending on beverage. Age and sex had influenced on perception rate of Shick Hae and Donggulre Tea. Income level influenced on the perception rate of Sung Nung and Citron Tea. Sociodemograhpic factors like senior over 50s, female and extended family size had positive influence on the perception rate.

        The purpose of this case is to find effectiveness of improvement of cognitive function with head injury patients through Computer-Assisted Cognitive Rehabilitation(CACR) program within various training programs. The subjects were three inpatient persons with head injury on Rehabilitation Hospital in Yonsei University and aged 28 and 14 and 2 woman and another man. It was used PSS CogRehab program during 15 days. Cognition, perception and activities of daily living(ADL) were compared pre-CACR with post-CACR by LOTCA, MVPT and MBI. According to this case study, in spite of short-term period, the subjects had changed of performance skills of cognition, perception and activities of daily living. Results were as follows : 1. LOTCA score of 3 cases showed increasing change after CACR performance, especially perception and visuoperception organization were increased. 2. Raw score was increased and processing time was controlled adjustable of MVPT within 3 cases. 3. MBI score of 3 cases were improved, especially dressing, feeding and toileting were improved each one step.

        The purpose of this study is to provide developmental data of the performance of children between the age of 6 to 12 to verify the hierarchical order of acquiring the cognitive competencies and to identify whether differences in the performance between male and female tested in revised Loewenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment (LOTCA). The test consists of six subtests designed to be representative of various cognitive abilities. The subjects were 60 normal children from age 6 to 12 were assigned to a group 1 from 6.0∼7.11, a group 2 from 8.0∼9.11 and a group 3 age 10.0∼12.0. We measured their cognitive-perceptual ability with LOTCA. The results were a progress with from 6 to 12 years in both and speed of performance. Male group showed better score than females in Shape Identification of Visual Perception, Logic Question of Thinking Operation, Attention And Concentration. The Females are better than males in Motor Imitation of Motor Praxis, Pegboard Construction and the performance duration, Colored Block-Design and the performance duration, Plain Block-Design and the performance duration, and The length of time taken. Several subtests except Visual Perception, Direction on Cs’ Body, Spatial Relation of Spatial perception, Motor Praxis, Two-Dimensional Model of Visuomotor Organization, ROC Unstructured, ROC Structured, Pictorial Sequence A, and Pictorial Sequence B of Thinking Operation, which are showed significant differences between age groups. With the above results, we conclude that LOTCA is an appropriate tool for occupational therapists to use in assessing cognitive-perceptual abilities.

        The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of transfer of training approach on cognitive function and functional recovery and the difference in the stroke patterns of adult stroke patients with affected cognitive function. Twenty stroke patients were participated ; 8 males and 12 females, the age ranged from 34 to 73. By the classification of diagnosis, 10 subjects were cerebral infarction and 10 subjects were cerebral hemorrhage, by the classification of affected side, 11 Rt hemiplegic patients, 9 Lt hemiplegic patients who were above at least post onset 2 month to a year. It was evaluated and analyzed pre and post treatment with MMSE and FIM, and the method of transfer of training approach was practiced every 30 min a day for a month. The data were analyzed by t-test and one way ANOVA. The results of this study were as follows: 1. There was significant in the effect of transfer of training approach on cognitive function of stroke patinets. 2. There was significant in the effect of transfer of training approach on functional recovery of stroke patients. 3. There was a significant difference in the effect of treatment in the group of cerebral infarction.

        The purpose of this study was to develop menu planning in the elementary food service system. This survey conducted in 10 elementary schools located in Inchon area. Among 300 questionnaires, 258 responses were collected and were analyzed by SAS program. Household income levels, food habits and preference of menu were investigated using frequency and percentiles with chi-square test. The result showed that mostly people belonged to lower middle income classes. As for preference of school food service menu, elementary students chose correction of unbalanced diet and good nutrition, while mothers of them ranked correction of unbalanced diet and convenience of preparing food. Regardness of mothers for menu preference of the elementary school students came to an agreement overall.

        경영활동에 있어서 직관력은 잘 알려진 인지능력이지만 효과적인 의사결정지원시스템의 개발 목적으로는 거의 고려되고 있지 않다. 본 연구는 의사결정자의 인지 유형에 따른 시계열 예측의 정확성과 뇌파의 차이를 통계적 검증, 인공신경망, 데이터 마이닝의 세 가지 접근방법으로 탐색하여 그 결과를 비교 분석함으로써 시계열 직관 예측에 영향을 주는 의사결정자의 인지적/생리적 특성을 도출함으로써 효과적인 의사결정환경을 조성하는데 공헌하고자 하였다. 실험결과 통계적 분석에서는 아무런 유의성을 찾을 수 없었으나, 인공신경망 분석에서는 인지유형과 감성유형이 모두 시계열 예측 정확도와 상관성이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 데이터 마이닝 분석에서는 보다 의미 있는 상관관계를 찾아낼 수 있었다.

        A survey was conducted to examine the effect of food irradiation education on college students' knowledge and acceptance of food irradiation. The instrument for the knowledge and acceptance of food irradiation was administered before and after food irradiation education, to 150 students majoring in food and nutrition or food technology in the Chungnam National University. Before the education approximately 93% of the respondents did not know that radioactivity dose not remain in food after irradiation; whereas, after education half of them thought that radioactivity dose not remain in irradiated food. Knowledge about food irradiation has improved through education. The education significantly increased all the mean scores of need for food irradiation and willingness to use irradiated foods for the six food groups (p<0.01). The education significantly decreased the mean scores of concern about the irradiated food for all the six food groups (p<0.01). Although the responses to irradiated foods are, in general, negative or neutral even after education, the mean scores of acceptance of the irradiated foods have improved through education in all the six food groups (p<0.01). In conclusion, this study showed that food irradiation education may positively affect the college students' knowledge and acceptance of food irradiation, and that the development of both the appropriate detection methods to identify irradiated foods and the education programs to enlighten the college students are needed.

        A survey was conducted to examine the knowledge and acceptance of food irradiation in order to provide baseline data required in the development of food irradiation education programs for college students. 150 students majoring in food and nutrition or food technology in the Chungnam National University were chosen for a survey. The results are as follows. First, college students' knowledge about food irradiation is scanty. Knowledge assessment showed that 56% of the participants had previously heard of food irradiation. 68% of the respondents thought that radioactivity remains in food after irradiation and 25.3% of them were not sure whether radioactivity remains in food after irradiation or not. Only half of the respondents thought that nutrient loss due to irradiation is equal to or lower than that due to cooking or freezing. Second, approximately 56% of the respondents showed that food irradiation is somewhat or strongly needed for meat or fish; whereas, over 60% of them showed that food irradiation is not needed for grain, vegetable and fruit. Almost 40% of the respondents were seriously concerned about irradiation of vegetables and fruits; whereas, they showed less concern about spice irradiation. More than half of the respondents were not willing to use irradiated food in all the six food groups. Third, the correlation analysis showed that the need of food irradiation is negatively correlated with concerning about the irradiated fish and fruits, but positively correlated with willingness to use irradiated food in all the five food groups, except in spices. Concern about the irradiated food is negatively correlated with willingness to use irradiated food from all the six food groups. Fourth, almost all the respondents (over 90%) agreed that the irradiated food labeling is required as well as the development of proper methods to identify irradiated foods.

        The purpose of this study was to obtain normative data and comparing cognitive abilities of patients with stroke and normal population by administering Lowenstein Occupational Therapy Cognitive Assessment (LOTCA). The subjects were 31 patients with stroke and 19 adults in a good health. The results were as follows: 1. The experimental group received statistically lower scores than the control group in all items except for object identification, shape identification and copying geometric forms. 2. There was no significant difference in analysis of items based on affected side. 3. There was a significant difference in the relationship between educational background and visuomotor organization and thinking operation. 4. There was a significant difference in the relationship between treatment period and visuomotor organization. 5. There was no significant difference in the relationship between LOTCA scores and age and onset of the disease. The result shows that there was a significant difference in LOTCA scores between the experimental group and control group. These data are expected to be used as a baseline.

        이 연구의 목적은 대기압에 대하여 전통적 수업모형과 인지갈등을 이용한 수업모형을 적용하여 수업 전과 수업 2주후, 수업 3개월 후의 개념 변화를 분석하고 그에 따른 학습 효과를 알아보는 데 있다. 이 연구의 대상은 184명이며 통제집단과 실험집단으로 구분하여 수업 전 개념이해 유형을 파악하고 전통적 수업모형과 인지 갈등 수업모형을 적용하여 학습 한 후 개념변화를 분석하였다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 1) 수업 전에는 대기압과 관련된 기초개념에 대한 이해수준이 낮았으나 일상생활과 관련된 경험적이거나 암기적 개념에서는 비교적 이해수준이 높게 나타났다. 2) 인지갈등 수업모형을 이용한 수업 후의 개념 변화는 전통적 수업모형에 비해 과학적 개념 형성에 학습 효과가 높은 것으로 나타났으며 3) 문항에 따라 다소 차이는 있지만 수업 3개월 후 개념의 지속성 측면에서도 인지 갈등을 이용한 수업모형이 전통적 수업모형보다 효과적인 것으로 분석되었다.

        To investigate the perception and preference of foreign visitors to Korean traditional foods, 206 visitors(male 142, female 61) were surveyed with questionnaires translating in English, Chinese and Japanese. Subjects had various nationality such as China(77.4%), America(20.9%), Japan(16.0%), Canada(6.5%), Southeast Asia(2.5%) and Europe(2.5%). The 70.2% of the respondents had been tried Korean dishes before visiting Korea on the recommendation of friends or acquaintances(59.9%) or by the advertisement, articles, and travel agency. Bulgogi and Kimchi were the most popular menu that they had been tried in their country and Bibimbop, Kalbi, Korean dumpling, Samgaetang and Chapchae were following. 29.8% of the respondents had never tried Korean dishes because of they didn't have a chance to try(43.1%) or there were no Korean restaurant near their place(25.5%) or they had no interest in Korean dishes(23.5%). As expected, Kimchi and Bulgogi were well known food, showing rank of highest recognition. Chun and Dduck were the dishes that they had heard or saw but not eaten and Goojeolpan and Shinsunro were the dishes that they had not heard or saw. Preference to Korean dishes shows the same tendency as perception, Bulgogi, Bibimbop, Kalbi and Kimchi were the highly preferred group and Samgaetang, Bindaedduck, Chapchae, Dumpling and Raengmyon were mildly preferred one and Cucumber Kimchi, Kalbitang, Chun, Namul, Dduck were lower group of preference and Shinsunro and Goojeolpan were rarely preferred. These result shows that it is needed to advertise Korean dishes and to make events for globalization of Korean food.
