        With interconnecting voids, porous asphalt provides drainage of rainwater in vertical and lateral direction during rainfall. In addtition, it also offers remarkable advantages compare to traditional asphalt: reduce vehicle splash and spray behind, reduce night time surface glare in wet season and increase tire-pavement friction...On the other hand, the following aspects are recognized as disavantages: reduced performance, winter maintenance issues and high construction cost. For flexible pavement, dynamic modulus master curve is an important parameter in the mechanistic-empirical pavement design guide. In this study, the results of experiment of dynamic modulus test of porous asphalt are discussed for understanding well about the viscoelastic characteristics of porous asphalt.

        Dynamic numerical simulation of pile-supported slab track system embedded in a soft soil and embankment was performed. 3D model was formulated in a time domain to consider the non-linearity of soil by utilizing FLAC 3D, which is a finite difference method program. Soil non-linearity was simulated by adopting the hysteric damping model and liner elements, which could consider soil-pile interface. The long period seismic loads, Hachinohe type strong motions, were applied for estimating seismic respose of the system, Parametric study was carried out by changing subsoil layer profile, embankment height and seismic loading conditions. The most of horizontal permanent displacement was initiated by slope failure. Increase of the embedded height and thickness of the soft soil layer leads increase of member forces of PHC piles; bending moment, and axial force. Finally, basic guidelines for designing pile-supported slab track system under seismic loading are recommended based on the analysis results.

        Ryoo, Hye-Kyung. 2017. “Discourse Analysis of Microteaching: Dynamic Identities and Situational Frames”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 25(2), 165~196. The present paper is based on a discourse analysis of Microteaching speech events of Korean pre-service training students taking a teacher training course in college. The purpose of this study is to look closely into what really is going on in the discourse of microteaching events in terms of the participants' identity enactment and framing of situations. Fifteen pre-service training students' microteaching lessons were video-taped and transcribed to examine detailed discourse features. The results of the qualitative analysis of the discourse revealed frequent dynamic shifting and enactments of identities in momentary situational frames. The participants in the present study were able to act on diverse situational frames by orienting to locally-managed situated identities.

        A fatigue analysis considering dynamic effects yields a more accurate fatigue life prediction than static fatigue analysis because it considers effects of inertia, flexibility and resonance that occur in the structure up to its natural frequency. However, the dynamic fatigue analysis of bogie frames of the rolling stock is not yet taken into account in the norm EN 13749. Therefore, in order to assure the safety of the rolling stocks, it is important to examine the fatigue analysis of that considering dynamic effects under applied load histories. Moreover, since the bogie frame consists of various welded joints, it is necessary to evaluate fatigue life of that considering welding properties as well as dynamic effects. In this study, under load histories converted from measured acceleration histories, static and dynamic fatigue analysis of the welded bogie frame are performed respectively.

        PURPOSES: This paper presents a finite element model to accurately represent the soil-post interaction of single guardrail posts in sloping ground. In this study, the maximum lateral resistance of a guardrail post has been investigated under static and dynamic loadings, with respect given to several parameters including post shape, embedment depth, ground inclination, and embedment location of the steel post. METHODS: Because current analytical methods applied to horizontal ground, including Winkler’s elastic spring model and the p-y curve method, cannot be directly applied to sloping ground, it is necessary to seek an alternative 3-D finite element model. For this purpose, a 3D FHWA soil model for road-base soils, as constructed using LS-DYNA, has been adopted to estimate the dynamic behavior of single guardrail posts using the pendulum drop test. RESULTS: For a laterally loaded guardrail post near slopes under static and dynamic loadings, the maximum lateral resistance of a guardrail post has been found to be reduced by approximately 12% and 13% relative to the static analysis and pendulum testing, respectively, due to the effects of ground inclination. CONCLUSIONS: It is expected that the proposed soil material model can be applied to guardrail systems installed near slopes.

        This paper presents a dynamic crack propagation algorithm with Rayleigh damping effect based on the MLS(Moving Least Squares) Difference Method. Dynamic equilibrium equation and constitutive equation are derived by considering Rayliegh damping and governing equations are discretized by the MLS derivative approximation; the proportional damping, which has not been properly treated in the conventional strong formulations, was implemented in both the equilibrium equation and constitutive equation. Dynamic equilibrium equation including time relevant terms is integrated by the Central Difference Method and the discrete equations are simplified by lagging the velocity one step behind. A geometrical feature of crack is modeled by imposing the traction-free condition onto the nodes placed at crack surfaces and the effect of movement and addition of the nodes at every time step due to crack growth is appropriately reflected on the construction of total system. The robustness of the proposed numerical algorithm was proved by simulating single and multiple crack growth problems and the effect of proportional damping on the dynamic crack propagation analysis was effectively demonstrated.

        This paper is concerned with the numerical analysis of dynamic response of floating offshore wind turbine subject to underwater explosion using an effective non-reflecting technique. An infinite sea water domain was truncated into a finite domain, and the non-reflecting technique called the perfectly matched layer(PML) was applied to the boundary of truncated finite domain to absorb the inherent reflection of out-going impact wave at the boundary. The generalized transport equations that govern the inviscid compressible water flow was split into three PML equations by introducing the direction-wise absorption coefficients and state variables. The fluid-structure interaction problem that is composed of the wind turbine and the sea water flow was solved by the iterative coupled Eulerian FVM and Largangian FEM. And, the explosion-induced hydrodynamic pressure was calculated by JWL(Jones-Wilkins-Lee) equation of state. Through the numerical experiment, the hydrodynamic pressure and the structural dynamic response were investigated. It has been confirmed that the case using PML technique provides more reliable numerical results than the case without using PML technique.

        컴퓨터 시스템의 발전과 더불어 과학적 이론의 수식화와 체계화를 통해 고분자 소재의 물성을 예측할 수 있는 다양한 종류의 시스템이 개발되어 왔으며 실제 분자동력학 시뮬레이션을 이용한 고분자 소재의 물성예측은 다양한 분야에 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 탄화수소계 고분자인 술폰화폴리아릴렌이서술폰 계 고분자와 상용화된 폴리이서술폰, 폴리비닐리덴플로라이드 고분자 소재를 이용한 블렌드 막을 제조하였으며, 제조된 분리막의 함량변화에 따른 이온과 메 탄올 투과물성 변화 예측에 대한 연구를 진행하였으며, 실제 실험결과와 비교분 석을 진행하였다.

        본 연구에서는 술폰산기, 암모늄기를 가지는 폴리에테르에테르케톤계 고분자 소재에 대한 투과거동을 분석하기 위하여 분자 동력학 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 분석을 진행하였다. 술폰산기와 암모늄기의 함량을 조절하여 다양한 모델을 구 성하였으며, 도입된 관능기의 함량의 변화에 따른 하이드로니움, 히드록사이드 이온의 투과 거동에 대한 분석을 진행하였으며, 실제 실험 결과와 비교를 진행 하였다.

        One of the important advantages of Thermosonics is that it can be applied to complex structures such as a turbine blade as a convenient and quick screening test method. For a reliable thermosonic test, the vibrational characteristics of the system comprising the tested structure and the clamp at ultrasonic frequency range should be identified. Therefore, this study presented the analysis results of frequency response functions and mode shapes of the turbine blade and clamp system and investigate the possibility of the reliable excitation system for the thermosonic test.

        PURPOSES : The objective of this study was to evaluate the results of the dynamic immersion test (DIT) through digital image analysis (DIA). METHODS : The asphalt binder retained post DIT was inspected visually by more than three investigators. However, because visual observations can be subjective, depending on the inspector’s skills and knowledge, DIA was also performed. The threshold value for the DIA was determined by a mesh analysis, in which the digital image to be analyzed is divided into very small meshes. In addition, the bitumen bond strength (BBS) test was also performed to the compare the visual results with the mechanical values. RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS : Depending on the materials used, various methods can be used to predict the behavior of retained asphalt. However, the increasing ratio in the trend of retained asphalt shows different behaviors among the evaluation methods. In this study, the results of the visual observations were significantly different from those of the DIA, the mesh analysis, and the BBS tests. Thus, DIA is an appropriate method for evaluating the results of the DIT. However, in order to use this technique in the field, it is necessary to determine a more reasonable threshold value by performing DIA on various materials.

        Piloti-type building is one of typical vertical atypical buildings. These buildings can fail by weak-story or flexible-story mechanism on the first story. They should be designed by taking into account the special seismic load, but those less than six stories are not required to confirm the seismic performance from structural engineers in Korea. For this reason, small-size pilloti-type RC buildings need to be checked for seismic performance. Based on this background, this study performed nonlinear dynamic analysis using the PERFORM-3D for small-size pilloti-type RC buildings and assessed their seismic performance. Examples are two through four story buildings with and without walls in the first story. The walls and columns in the first story satisfied the target performance in the basic of flexural behavior due to quite a large size and reinforcement. However, wall shear demands exceed shear strength in some buildings. When designed for KBC2009, wall shear strength exceed shear demand in some buildings, but still does not in others. Consequently, wall shear must be carefully checked in both existing and new small-size pilloti-type RC buildings.

        It is very important to calculate natural frequency of the observatory tower correctly because it is keenly affected by wind response vibration due to its large slenderness ratio, weight and small damping ratio. Additionally, suggestion equation of natural frequency being used in the design phase has considerable difference between actual measured value thereby making it inappropriate to be used in the serviceability design of the observatory tower. Therefore, this paper conducted an ambient vibration measuring on 10 observatory towers through mobile-phone application thereby calculating the natural frequency and comparing the result with the domestic and foreign standards and that of the eigen-value analysis. This paper suggested approximate equation of the natural frequency of the observatory tower; T=0.0266H. The square of the corelation coefficient is 0.940, which is high.

        가속도를 계측하여 부상력을 제어하는 것은 가장 기본적인 자기부상열차의 부상공극 제어기법이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 가속도 되먹임에 기반한 부상공극제어기법을 자기부상열차에 적용하고, 이를 고려한 자기부상열차-가이드웨이 상호작용계의 동적거동 해석기법을 개발한다. 개발된 해석기법을 사용하여 실제 자기부상열차-가이드웨이 상호작용계의 동적해석을 수행하였다. 해석 결과를 통해 가속도 되먹임에 기반한 부상공극제어기법을 적용하여도 현재까지 제안된 자기부상열차 설계 기준을 충분히 만족함을 확인하였다. 즉, 현재 제안된 자기부상열차 가이드웨이 구조물의 설계 기준을 보완하여 안전하면서도 경제적인 구조물의 건설이 가능해질 것으로 예상된다.

        Resonance occurrence conditions are explored by performing dynamic interaction analysis of arch bridge and KTX trains. The target bridge is a 3D tied-arch bridge having span length of 120m. KTX trains consist of two power carriages, two power and passenger carriages and sixteen passenger carriages. When KTX trains run on the target bridge with the uniform speed of 100 to 500km/h, the dynamic responses of the bridge induced by moving trains are obtained from railway arch bridge-train interaction analysis. Two resonance conditions are presented and whether the resonance phenomena occur or not at the suspicious resonance velocities is rigorously investigated through bridge deflections and accelerations and their FFT analysis.

        If scour is occurred at shallow foundation of bridge, seismic performance of the bridge will be reduced. In order to evaluate accurate seismic response of bridge according to scour depths, modeling of foundation reflecting scour effect is important. In this study, taking into account the effect of the reduction in embedment depth of the shallow foundation by scouring, the soil around the foundation is modelled as an equivalent soil spring with various stiffness. Seismic fragility analyses for 3 types of bridges subjected to 4 types of ground motions classified into Site Class A, B, C, D are evaluated according to several scour depths. From the fragility analysis results, it can be observed that the deeper the scour depth, the higher probability of exceeding damage states. Also, seismic failure probability of asymmetric bridge is higher than that of symmetric bridge.

        In this study, numerical method was used to assess technical properties and improve the Vietnamese tuna purse seine. Thedata were extracted from the two national level projects. The study results showed that average lead-line sinking speed reached 0.139 m/s and 0.143 m/s and maximum sinking depth was 61.6 m and 65.8 m for The gears 2003 and 2014 respectively. The maximum tension on ring line of The gear 2003 was 4,742 kgf and 2014 was 4,219 kgf. The improved tuna purse seines I, III and IV showed similar sinking speed results with 0.220 m/s, 0.219 m/s and 0.219 m/s respectively. The average lead-line sinking speed of the improved gear II was lowest with 0.215 m/s. The maximum lead-line sinking depth of the four improved gears I, II, III and IV were 116 m, 112 m, 115 m and 114.9 m respectively. Maximum tension on ring line of the improved gears I, II, III and IV were 5,657 kgf, 5,406 kgf, 5,645 kgf and 5,654 kgf respectively. The improved tuna purse seine IV is the most suitable for Vietnamese tuna purse seine fishery, Which corresponds with tuna purse seiner scale and its fishing supporting equipment at the present.

        본 연구는 2.5MW급 풍력발전기용 기어박스의 동특성 분석에 관한 것으로서, 유연핀(flexible pin) 채용에 따른 유성기어축의 미스얼라인먼트(misalignment) 개선여부와 충격하중에 따른 기어박스의 동응답 특성을 유한요소해석을 통해 고찰하였다. 내부의 복잡한 기어시스템의 하중전달을 정확하게 그리고 효과적으로 반영하기 위해 치접촉을 등가 치강성계수를 갖는 스프링요소와 물림률을 이용하여 모델링하였다. 기어의 등가 치강성계수는 기어치에 대한 변형해석을 통해 계산하였으며, 동특성 분석을 위해 기어박스 입력단에 충격 토오크를 부과하였다. 수치실험을 통해 등가 치강성모델의 타당성을 검증하였으며, 양단 그리고 일단 고정축과의 상대 비교를 통해 유연핀 적용에 따른 유성기어축의 미스얼라인먼트 개선여부를 확인할 수 있었다.
