        Pulsed wire evaporation (PWE) method is known as the promising production-technique for nanopowders. In this study, we developed and modified the previous single wire explosion equipment to the simultaneous two-wire explosion one for the fabrication of alloy or mixture of nano metallic powder. First of all, both the theoretical and empirical background of pulsed wire explosion of single wire were summarized, and compared with our experimental results for Cu and Al single wlre explosion. After then, the simultaneous wire evaporation equipment was designed, constructed, and tested. The current and voltage behavior were well matched between the calculated ones from the circuit equations, and the experimental results from simultaneous explosion of Cu and Al wire.

        Synthesis and characteristics of Cu nanopowder were considered by in-situ characterization method using SMPS in pulsed wire evaporation process. With increasing pressure in chamber, particle size and degree of agglomeration increased by increase of collision frequency. Also, it was found from the XRD analyses and BET measurements that crystallite size and particle size decreased with elevating applied voltage. However, SMPS measurements and TEM observation revealed the increase of particle size and degree of agglomeration with increase of applied voltage. These results suggested that particle growth and agglomeration depend on overheating factor in chamber at the early stage and thermal coagulation in filtering system during powder formation until collection.

        Nanocrystalline materials of Ni and Ni-Cu alloy have been synthesized by the pulsed wire evaporation (PWE) method and these abnormal magnetic properties in the magnetic ordered state have been characterized using both VSM and SQUID in the range of high and low magnetic fields. Ni and Ni-Cu particles with an average size of 20 to 80 nm were found to influence magnetic hysterisis behavior and the results of powder neutron diffraction patterns and saturation magnetization curves are shown to indicate the absence of the NiO phase. The shifted hysterisis loop and irreversibility of the magnetization curve in the high field region were observed in the magnetic-ordered state of both Ni and Ni-Cu. The virgin magnetization curve for Ni slightly spillover on the limited hysterisis loop (20kOe). This irreversibility in the high field of 50 kOe can be explained by non-col-linear behavior and the existence of the metastable states of the magnetization at the surface layer (or core) of the particle in the applied magnetic field. Immiscible alloy of Cu-Ni was also found to show irreversibility having two different magnetic phases.

        Nanoparticles of with a mean particle size of 4-30 nm have been prepared by a pulsed wire evaporation method, and its structural and magnetic properties were studied by SQUID magnetometer and Mossbauer spectroscopy. From the main peak intensity of XRD and absorption rate of Mossbauer spectrum, the amounts of and in as-prepared sample are about 70% and 30%, respectively. The coercivity (53 Oe) and the saturation magnetization (14 emu/g) are about 20% of those of the bulk . The low value of coercivity and saturation magnetization indicate that the phase nearly shows the spin glass-like behavior. Analysis of the set of Mossbauer spectrum indicates a distribution of magnetic hyperfine fields due to the particle size distribution yielding 20 nm of average particle size. The magnetic hyperfine parameters are consistent with values reported of bulk and . A quadrupole line on the center of spectrum represents of superparamagnetic phase of with a mean particle size of 7 nm or below.

        For the unconfined vapor cloud explosion accident by the continuous release of gas-liquid flow of various saturated liquids in a vessel at ground level, overpressures were estimated and analyzed with various release conditions and materials by TNT equivalency model with vapor dispersion. We found that at same release conditions, overpressure showed n-heptane > xylene > n-hexane > toluene > n-heptane > benzene, respectively and that overpressure was increased with increasing the hole diameter and the storage pressure, but it was increased with decreasing the wind speed, the interested distance, and the vessel thickness.

        In this case study, results of the explosion accident at MEK-PO factory were analysed by using the consequence analysis of quantitative hazard assessment and the explosion energy, the burst pressure of vessel, and overpressures at the explosion center and at 300m distance from the explosion center were estimated, respectively. As a result, we found that a cause of accident was the runaway reaction of product(MEK-PO) because of the molecular expansion in vessel and that the possibility of the runaway reaction was classified the mechanical failure(the obstacle of refrigerator or the shutdown valve), design error, and operating error by lack of thermochemical knowledge. Also, the evasive action to prevent accident was suggested.

        A study for the dangerous properties measurment of dust explosion was attended by the various dust concentration on Anthraquinone, Sodiumbenzoic acid, Corn starch, soy sauce powder, and cheese powder. As the result, maximum explosion pressure, the maximum rate of pressure rise, autoigntion temperature, and the water content of dust on lower limit explosion concentration was obtained as follows 1. The lower limit explosion concentration on soy sauce powder with the humidity of 65 to 90% increased by increasing the con tent of moisture, and the effect of dry air and moisture air decreased better in make of dry air. 2. The effect of a various dust concentration on autoigntion temperatures is investigated, If the vessel of dust explosion is small size and the easiness of autoignition was controled by air within the vessel, because it was better decreased air with increasing of dust concentration 3. The maximum explosion pressures of Anthraguinone, sodiumbenzoic acid, com starch, soy sauce powder, and cheese powder were 1.0g/l, 1.0g/l, 1.5g/l, 1.5g/l, and 1.5g/l, respectively, and the maximum rate of pressure rise were 0.5g/l, 0.5g/l, 1.0g/l, 1.0g/l, and 1.0g/l, respectively.

        The consequence analysis for the unconfined vapor cloud explosion(UVCE) accident by the continuous release of butane vapor was performed and effects of process parameters on consequences were analyzed in standard conditions. For the case of continuous release(87.8 kg/s) of butane vapor at 8 m elevated height in the debutanizing process of tile naphtha cracking plant operating at 877 kPa & 346.75 K, we found that combustion ranges of dispersed vapor estimated by HMP model were 11.2~120.2 m and overpressures estimated by TNT equivalency model at 200 m were about 37.35~55.1 kPa. Also, overpressures estimated by Model UVCE I based on advective travel time to XLFL were smaller than those estimated by Model UVCE IIbased on real travel time between XUFL and XLFL. At the same time, damage intensities at 200 m and effect ranges by overpressure could be predicted. Furthermore, simulation results showed that effects of operating pressures on consequences were larger than those of operating temperatures and results of accidents were increased with increasing operating pressures. At this time, sensitivities of overpressures for UVCE accident by the continuous release were about 5 kPa/atm.

        본 연구에서는 발파로 인한 폭발하중에 대한 지하공동구조체의 3차원 동적유한요소해석을 수행하였다. 해석과정은 1차원 근원해석과정과 3차원터널해석과정의 2단계로 나누어 수행하였다. 1차원 근원해석에서는 장약공과 그 주변의 자유장을 포함하는 해석으로서 3차원 터널해석을 위한 입력하중의 계산작업을 수행한다. 본 연구에서 수행한 해석방법의 기능은 3차원 동적해석프로그램 MPDAP-3D에 추가되었으며, 향후 발파공법에 의한 지하공동구조체의 건설시 구조체의 안전성을 평가하는데 활용가능할 것으로 예상된다.

        The aim of the present study is to investigate experimentally the mechanism of an exploding wire in water and also to observe the bubble motion induced by an exploding wire. The experiment of an exploding wire is carried out in a water tank. As a metallic wire, a tungsten wire of 0.2mm in diameter and 10mm in length is employed. The electric energy of 50-300J is fed to the wire from a capacitor of 100μF charged up to 1-2.5kV. The explosion is recorded by a CCD camera with the resolution of 1μsec. The explosion process of metallic wire is divided into three phases. Phase 1 : As the voltage is applied to the wire, the temperature increases due to Joule heating and the wire emits light. Phase 2 : Then the wire melts and the cylindrical plasma is formed between the electrodes. Up to this stage, strong light emission is observed. Phase 3 : The light emission goes out and a vapor bubble begins to grow spherically. The radius of a bubble oscillates in time, but the amplitude of oscillation diminishes in several cycles.

        원전격납구조물, LNG 저장탱크와 같은 프리스트레스트 콘크리트 (Prestressed Concrete, PSC) 사회기반시설물의 경우 테러, 폭발, 충돌 사고로 인해 대량의 경제적, 인적 피해가 발생할 수 있으나 폭발, 충돌 등의 극한하중에 따른 방호 및 방재개념의 구조설계가 적용되지 않은 실정이다. 특히, 구조물 내부에서 발생하는 폭발하중은 압력이 외부폭발하중에 비해 월등히 크기 때문에 내부폭발하중에 대한 특성 및 내부폭발하중에 따른 PSC 구조물의 저항성능의 검토는 필수적이다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 PSC 관형 구조물의 내부폭발저항성능을 검토하기 위해 이방향 PSC 축소모형을 제작하여 실험적으로 검토하였으며 실험 데이터를 기반으로 해석적 모델을 개발 및 검증하였다.
