        A drug delivery system (DDS) was prepared with a temperature and pH-responsive hydrogel. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/poly(acrylic acid) (PAAc)/poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm)/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) nanocomposites were prepared by radical polymerization for the temperature and pH-responsive hydrogels. MWCNTs were employed to improve both the thermal conductivity and mechanical properties of the PVA/PAAc/PNIPAAm/MWCNT nanocomposite hydrogels. Various amounts of MWCNTs (0, 0.5, 1 and 3 wt%) were added to the nanocomposite hydrogels. PVA/PAAc/PNIPAAm/MWCNT nanocomposite hydrogels were characterized with a scanning electron microscope. The mechanical properties were measured with a universal testing machine. Swelling and releasing properties of nanocomposite hydrogels were investigated at various temperatures and pHs. Temperature and pH-responsive release behavior was found to be dependent on the content of MWCNTs in nanocomposite hydrogels.

        The present study investigated the concentration of gaseous odor emitted from paint manufacturing facilities and the cases of improvement for odor emission reduction. It was found that the companies located in odor management district observed the odor emission standard more than the companies located in other local industrial complex. We ascribed the reason to the continuous crackdown by local government and voluntary efforts of each companies. Finally, we described the improvement cases of process for odor emission reduction.

        In ruminants, Interferon-τ (IFN-τ) has the role of recognizing pregnancy signals produced by the embryo and it may have an important role during the luteolysis. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of IFN-τ on prostaglandin synthesis, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) gene expression in vitro and secretion of progesterone (P4) in vivo. The epithelial and stromal cells isolated from bovine endometrium were cultured with different doses of IFN-τ (0, 0.02, 0.2 and 2 μg/ml). Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG, 1.5 IU/ml) was used as a positive control. Prostaglandin E2 and F2α levels in the culture media were analyzed by enzyme immunoassays, and total RNA was extracted from the cells for RT-PCR. P4 concentrations in blood samples were assayed by chemiluminescent immunoassay system. In epithelial cells, COX-2 gene expression was increased in the presence of IFN-τ (p<0.05), but it was not significantly different in all groups of stromal cells except 2 μg/ml IFN-τ group (p<0.05). Although IFN-τ did not affect PGE2 and PGF2α production in epithelial cells, it decreased PGE2 and PGF2α production significantly in stromal cells (p<0.05). In vivo experiment, the P4 concentrations in blood sample was significantly increased after injection of 1 μg/ml IFN-τ. These results indicate that PG production was mediated by COX-2 expression in the stromal cells but it did not affect in the epithelial cells, and suggest that treatment of IFN-τ was to improve the implantation environment of uterine by maintenance of high P4 concentration. * This work was carried out with the support of “Cooperative Research Program for Agriculture Science & Technology Development (Project No. PJ907008)” Rural Development Administration, Republic of Korea.

        Software release planning in software development is to assign its features to releases in a specified planning horizon,satisfying technology, resource, risk, and budget constraints. The release planning problembecomes more complicated when the concept of software product lines (SPL) is considered. In this research, a precedence-constrained multiple 0-1 knapsack problem regarding SPL characteristics is formulated to maximize the objective function depending on the value of the release, the importance of stakeholders, the urgency of a feature and its value to stakeholders. As the optimization solution approach, dynamic programming model is developed to solve the precedence-constrained multiple 0-1 knapsack problem as well as a heuristic and reduction algorithm are applied to reduce the size of the problem at each stage

        목 적 : 안정피로 개선을 위해 고안된 조절이완장치를 사용하여 VDT 작업과 관련한 임상성능을 분석하 고자 한다. 방 법 : 성인 30명(26.5±4.8세)을 대상으로 조절이완장치(EK-075/30, 에스테크(주), 한국)를 사용하지 않은 상태에서 VDT 작업 전과 후 그리고 조절이완 장치를 착용 상태에서 VDT 작업 후에 굴절이상도, 원거 리와 근거리의 시력 및 수평사위도, 폭주근점, 조절근점, 양안 및 단안 조절용이성, 융합버전스를 비교분석 하였으며, 총 4단계의 설문을 통해 대상자의 전반적인 건강상태와 VDT 작업 관련 기본사항, VDT 작업 중 느끼는 자각증상, 기기착용과 관련한 사항을 설문하였다. 결 과 : 조절이완장치를 사용하지 않은 상태에서 VDT 작업 후 굴절이상도가 유의하게 증가되었고 근거 리 시력이 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 원거리 사위도와 근거리 사위도는 내사위 방향으로 유의하게 증가 하였고 조절용이성은 양안과 단안 모두 유의하게 감소하였다. 조절이완장치를 사용한 상태에서의 VDT 작업 후 굴절이상도, 원거리 시력, 근거리 시력, 원거리 사위도는 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았으나 근 거리 사위도는 내사위 방향으로 증가하였고 단안 조절용이성도 유의하게 증가하였다. 결 론 : 조절이완장치의 착용으로 VDT 작업 후의 일시적인 근시화와 내사위의 증가가 감소되고 조절용 이성이 증가된 결과로 보아 조절과 조절이완의 훈련 효과가 있는 것으로 사료된다. 조절이완장치의 착용이 근거리 작업과 관련한 안정피로를 경감시키고 근거리 작업효율을 향상시키며 나아가 삶의 질 향상에도 기여 할 것이라고 생각된다.

        차선을 벗어난 승용차가 기초에 강결된 표지판 지주에 충돌할 경우 차량이 받는 충격과 변형은 탑승자의 안전을 위협하게 되므로 분리지주를 쓰는 것이 일반적이다. 국도에서 1200mm×1200mm의 단일노선표지에 사용되는 직경 101.6mm, 두께 4.0mm의 강관지주가 기초에 강결되었을 때와 Clip형 분리장치를 갖는 경우에 대한 820kg-50kg-정면 충돌 시 차량과 지주의 거동을 LS-DYNA 시뮬레이션을 통하여 비교 분석하였다. 분리식 지주 충돌 시뮬레이션 결과는 동일한 조건의 충돌실험 결과와 비교하여 신뢰도를 높였다. 강결된 원형지주에 대한 충돌 시뮬레이션 결과 탑승자 안전지수(THIV, PHD)와 차량의 변위가 탑승자의 안전을 위협하는 수준으로 나타났으나 Clip형 분리장치를 갖는 지주에 대한 충돌 시뮬레이션 결과 충돌 시 지주의 분리로 감속도가 현저히 줄어들어 안전한 것으로 확인되었다.

        Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) nanocomposite hydrogels were prepared by freezingthawing method for the electro-responsive transdermal drug delivery. MWCNTs were used as the functional ingredient to improve both mechanical and electrical properties of MWCNT/PVA nanocomposite hydrogels. The morphology of nanocomposites revealed the uniform distribution of MWCNTs and the good interfacial contact. The compression moduli of hydrogel matrices increased greatly from 40 to 1500 kPa by forming MWCNT/PVA nanocomposites. The swelling ratio of MWCNT/PVA nanocomposites decreased as the content of MWCNTs increased under no electric voltage applied. However, the swelling ratio of MWCNT/PVA nanocomposites increased as the content of MWCNTs increased under electric voltage applied and the applied electric voltage increased. The drug was released in the electro-responsive manner through the skin due to the electro-sensitive swelling characteristics of MWCNT/PVA nanocomposite hydrogels.

        The alginate-based hydrogel was prepared as a pH-sensitive drug delivery system. To enhance the drug loading capacity, activated carbon was introduced as a drug absorbent. The iron oxide was incorporated into the alginate matrix for the magnetic transferring to the target organ. The activated carbon and iron-oxide were dispersed uniformly in the alginate hydrogel. The drug release from the alginate/activated carbon composite hydrogel was carried out in various pH conditions with vitamin B12 and Lactobacillus lamnosers as model drugs. The fast and sustainable release of drug was observed in the basic condition due to the pH-sensitive solubility of alginate. The novel drug delivery system having pH-sensitive release property and magnetic movement to target place was developed by using the alginate/activated carbon composite magnetic hydrogels.

        Alginate-chitosan blend containing coconut-based activated carbon was prepared as a drug delivery carrier in order to improve the loading and releasing capacity of the drug. The activated carbon was incorporated as effective adsorbent for drug due to the extremely high surface area and pore volume, high adsorption capacity, micro porous structure and specific surface activity. Alginate-chitosan blend containing coconut-based activated carbon showed the sustained release for a longer period. Alginate-chitosan blend showed higher release of drug as the pH increased and higher release of drug as the content of chitosan decreased due to the pH-dependent solubility of blend components.

        Activated carbon (AC) is one of the most effective adsorbents for organic compounds because of their extended surface area, high adsorption capacity, microporous structure and special surface reactivity. The composites of pH-sensitive hydrogel and activated carbon were prepared in order to improve the loading capacity of drug. The pH-sensitive hydrogel matrix swelled well in the basic condition to release the drug loaded in AC. The release of drug was controlled depending on both the pH due to the ionization of the carboxylic acid group and the AC due to the surface properties.

        The composites of temperature-sensitive hydrogel and activated carbons were prepared in order to improve both the mechanical strength of hydrogel matrix and the loading capacity of drug in a hydrogel drug delivery system. The swelling of composite hydrogel was varied depending on the temperature. Both the swelling and the release behavior of the composite hydrogel were varied depending on the kind of activated carbon. The release behavior showed the high efficiency which is important for practical applications.

        The injury of red bean (Vigna angularis) by the legume pod borer, Maruca vitrata (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), was evaluated through an artificial inoculation experiment in cages randomly arranged in a field. Virgin adult pairs (0, 1, 2, 4 and 8) were released into screen-nets at the flowering stage of red bean, and the damage was investigated at harvest. Any insecticides were not sprayed through all plant-growing season. The absolute number of uninjured pod in a net showed a decreasing tendency according to the increase of the number of released adult pairs, but did not show a statically significant difference among treatments. The total production (number of pod and seed) of red bean was highly variable even in a treatment. The variation seemed to be caused by pre-infestation by M. vitrata and other insect species before netting. Instead, therefore, relative damage was compared among treatments. The total ratio of injured pod in a net increased according to the released adult number. The result clearly indicated that the mating ratio and fecundity within the screen-net also increased according to the number of released pairs and that the hatched larvae affected the damage. The corrected rate for pod injury at 8 pair release was about 46%. On the other hand, the ratio of injured seed per injured pod was about 80% regardless of treatments. The result suggested that one pod continuously be attacked till almost disappearance of itself.
