2017년 9월 23일, ITLOS는 가나와 코트디부아르 간 해양경계획정 분쟁에 대한 판결을 내렸다. 그 이전 2015년 4월 25일에는 분쟁 수역에 대한 ITLOS의 잠정조치 명령이 있었다. 잠정조치 명령에서 코트디부아르의 주장이 받아들여진 것과 달리 본안 판결에서는 가나에게 유리한 결과가 나왔다. ITLOS 특별재판부는 코트디부아르의 잠정조치 신청을 일부 수용하여 가나의 새로운 시추행위를 금지하는 잠정조치 명령을 내렸다. 코트디부아르가 해양환경 보호와 관련하여 신청한 것은 기각하면서도, 가나에게 해양환경에 대한 중대한 손해를 방지하기 위해 시추와 관련된 모든 활동들을 엄격히 감시하도록 명령한 것이다. 이것은 당사국 모두에게 분쟁수역의 해양환경에 대한 중대한 손해를 방지할 의무를 부과한 것이다. 이 사건의 또 다른 시사점은 본안 판결의 법적 구속력을 확인한 사건이라는 것이다. ITLOS 특별재판부가 정한 원칙을 적용해 양국간 해양경계를 획정하니 종래의 경계선과 큰 차이가 없었다. 이러한 결과에 대해 가나는 만족스러워한 반면, 코트디부아르도 승복할 수밖에 없었다. 그 이유는 물론 이 재판이 국제법의 원칙에 따라 진행되었기 때문이다. 이처럼 국제재판은 그 결과가 나오면 돌이킬 수 없기 때문에 국제재판을 통한 분쟁의 해결은 신중한 접근이 필요하다.

Plasticization is one of the biggest challenges in gas separation polymeric membranes. Mixed matrix membrane (MMM) comprising inorganic nanofiller is the most promising solution for anti-plasticization, however, it requires large amount of nanofillers to achieve desired performance. We adopted 2-D nanocomposite of zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF) attached on graphene oxide to effectively prevent plasticization of polyimide membrane under mixed gas condition. ZIF nanofillers, known as suitable additive for olefin/paraffin separation membranes, were grown on graphene oxide 2-D nanotemplates to maximize encounter frequency between gas permeant and nanofillers even in lower concentrations. The prepared MMMs successfully showed an improved mixed gas selectivity compapred to pristine membrane, indicating better anti-plasticization effect.

The passivation of AZ91D Mg alloys by plasma anodization requires deliberate choice of process parameters due to the presence of large amounts of structural defects. We study the dependence of pore formation, surface roughness and corrosion resistance on voltage by comparing the direct current (DC) mode and the pulse wave (pulse) mode in which anodization is performed. In the DC plasma anodization mode, the thickness of the electrolytic oxide film of the AZ91D alloy is uneven. In the pulse mode, the thickness is relatively uniform and the formed thin film has a three-layer structure. The pulse mode creates less roughness, uniform thickness and improved corrosion resistance. Thus, the change of power mode from DC to pulse at 150 V decreases the surface roughness (Ra) from 0.9 μm to 0.1 μm and increases the corrosion resistance in rating number (RN) from 5 to 9.5. Our study shows that an optimal oxide film can be obtained with a pulse voltage of 150 V, which produces an excellent coating on the AZ91D casting alloy.

The genus Diadegma is a well-known parasitoid group and some are known to have symbiotic virus so called polydnavirus (PDV, more specifically Ichnovirus, IV). The presence of the IV in the Diadegma species a has already been identified more than a decade ago. Previously we reported a DfIV, 62 genomic segments, 247kb from D. fenestrale which parasitized wide range of lepidopteran species (Generalist). However, DsIV from D. semiclausum which parasitized in the P. xylostella (Specialist) has 48 genomic segments, 208kb. Finally, 123 ORFs were re-annotated (repeat element protein, 41; cysteine motif protein, 11; viral innexin, 6; viral ankyrin, 8; polar residue rich protein, 7; N gene, 3; Neuromodulin protein, 2 and not assigned gene, 45). DsIV also have most of lepidopteran immunosuppression gene families and 103 ORFs annotated (repeat element protein, 36; cysteine motif protein, 8; viral innexin, 7; viral ankyrin, 6; polar residue rich protein, 7; N gene, 3; and not assigned gene, 36). Certainly, although viral species specific segments exists, two IVs showed high similarity in most of segments. However DfIV have some more number of that genes such as cysteine motif protein and viral ankyrin. Two Diadegma species also showed difference in mitochondrial genome structure. Therefore we concluded that two species has their own evolutionary linage depending on the lepidopteran hosts with its own symbiotic virus.

본 연구에서는 옹벽 구조물의 내진성능 평가를 위해 2차원 유한요소 해석을 수행하였다. 2차원 유한요소 모델은 실제로 시공된 옹벽 구조를 기반으로 2차원 평면변형 요소로 모델링되었으며, 지반은 각각 유한요소와 무한요소로 모델링 하였다. 지진하중은 총 38개의 인공 지진을 생성하여 사용하였고, 생성된 인공 지진파를 11개의 PGA로 나누어 총 418회의 시간이력해석을 수행하였다. 수치해석 결과를 바탕으로 옹벽 구조물의 지진에 대한 취약도를 분석하였다. 취약도 분석 결과 콘크리트 및 철근의 취약도 곡선이 낮은 PGA 수준에서 급격히 변하는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 유한요소 해석 결과를 바탕으로 실제 현장의 옹벽 구조에서 상대적으로 낮은 수준의 지진파가 발생하더라도 높은 파괴확률로 인해 지진에 상대적으로 취약함을 확인하였다.

미국 출신 힙합 음악가 켄드릭 라마는 앨범 『Good Kid m.A.A.d City』를 통해 다양한 음향 효과를 보여준다. 본 논문에서는 이 앨범에 수록되어 있는‘Sherane a.k.a Master Splinter's Daughter’와 ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’에서 나타난 다양한 음향효과를 분석하였다. 연구결과 ‘Sherane a.k.a Master Splinter's Daughter’에 사용된 드럼은 플랜저가 적용되어 스네어의 불규칙한 주파수 변화가 나타났으며, 신스패드에 LFO가 적용되어 트레몰로 효과가 나타났다. 또한 선행 연구곡 ‘Swimming Pools (Drank)’에 사용된 드럼은 리버브의 프리 딜레이가 적용되어 스네어에 반사음이 즉각 나타남으로서 16분음표 당김음 리듬이 연출되었다. 본 논문에서 연구된 분석과 방법들은 활용한다면 다양한 효과를 나타내야 하는 힙합 음악의 작업 환경에서 음향을 활용하여 서로 다른 효과를 나타낼 수 있는 결과를 도출할 수 있을 것이다.

세계적으로 소비가 많은 과일 중 하나인 딸기는 안토시아닌, 비타민 및 β-카로틴이 매우 풍부하다고 연구되었다. 현재 국산 딸기는 미국산과 일본산의 딸기에 비해 우수한 당도와 가격경쟁력을 가지고 있어 수출시장이 넓어지고 있다. 수출하는 딸기의 품종은 주로 매향과 설향이며 그 중에서도 상대적으로 경도가 우수한 매향의 비중이 더 크다. 딸기의 상업적 가치를 결정하는 요인에는 모양, 크기, 색상 등이 존재한다. 본 연구는 영상처리기술을 이용하여 딸기 영상으로 중량을 예측하기 위하여 수행되었다. 딸기 RGB 영상은 CCD 칼라 카메라를 이용하여 획득하였고, 획득한 딸기 영상을 분석하기 위하여 매트랩 프로그램이 사용되었다. 배경이 제거된 딸기 영상에서 측정한 픽셀 수와 실측된 딸기의 중량과의 상관관계를 분석하기 위해서 R-프로그램을 사용하였다. 정규성, 독립성, 선형성 및 등분산성을 검증을 통해서 회귀모형의 적절성을 확인하였고, 이를 활용하여 선형 회귀 모델을 개발하였다. 딸기 영상을 이용한 중량 예측모델의 결정계수(R2)가 0.8966으로 딸기 영상의 픽셀 수가 딸기 중량과 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 따라서 딸기의 2차원 영상과 영상처리기술로 딸기의 중량 예측이 가능함을 확인하였다.
