        In this paper, we developed a thermoelectric storage container that maintains whole blood temperature and studied its characteristics. Using a temperature sensor, we compared the internal temperature with the set temperature in real time and maintained the temperature between 1 and 6°C. In addition, we installed insulation inside the container and used a lithium-ion battery to power the system to ensure a stable whole blood temperature even during long-distance transportation. Instead of a blood pack, a 350-g water bottle was used and the experiment was conducted at an ambient temperature of 25°C. After cooling for 10 minutes, the internal temperature of the container reached 6°C and the battery operated for 60 minutes. In the future, if we improve the thickness and thermal conductivity of the insulation installed in the thermoelectric storage container and utilize phase change materials as a supplement, we will be able to transport more diverse blood products and special reagents stably.

        This study selected two labor-intensive processes in harsh environments among domestic food production processes. It analyzed their improvement effectiveness using 3-dimensional (3D) simulation. The selected processes were the “frozen storage source transfer and dismantling process” (Case 1) and the “heavily loaded box transfer process” (Case 2). The layout, process sequence, man-hours, and output of each process were measured during a visit to a real food manufacturing factory. Based on the data measured, the 3D simulation model was visually analyzed to evaluate the operational processes. The number of workers, work rate, and throughput were also used as comparison and verification indicators before and after the improvement. The throughput of Case 1 and Case 2 increased by 44.8% and 69.7%, respectively, compared to the previous one, while the utilization rate showed high values despite the decrease, confirming that the actual selected process alone is a high-fatigue and high-risk process for workers. As a result of this study, it was determined that 3D simulation can provide a visual comparison to assess whether the actual process improvement has been accurately designed and implemented. Additionally, it was confirmed that preliminary verification of the process improvement is achievable.

        Laver aquaculture, which occupies a large proportion in the aquaculture industry in Korea, is still highly dependent on human labor. Therefore, it is necessary to study the development of an automatic system to improve the working environment and increase the efficiency of aquaculture production systems. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the economic feasibility of an improved system in a study for the loading-unloading and automatic weighing systems in laver aquaculture industry. Economic analysis of the developed unloading and automatic weighing system were implemented under various conditions to calculate more accurate benefits and costs. As a result of this study, the economic feasibility was found to be very high in the three models: net present value (NPV), benefit-cost ratio (B/C), internal rate of return (IRR). Moreover, the results of sensitivity analysis showed that the economical efficiency of the automatic loading, unloading, and weighing system in laver aquaculture was very high.

        PURPOSES : The cooling characteristics of the asphalt mixture in a moving dump truck were analyzed using a numerical simulation method. The cooling characteristic can be used to determine the optimum transport path for minimizing the temperature drop of the asphalt mixture. METHODS : In this research, a coupled analysis of the discrete element method (DEM) with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) was applied for cooling characteristic analysis of asphalt mixtures in transit. Two different transit speeds, 30 km/h and 60 km/h, were considered to evaluate the effect of speed on the temperature drop of the asphalt mixture. Velocity, pressure, and temperature contours were plotted and temperature variations were compared. RESULTS : Most of the temperature drops in the asphalt mixture were observed in the middle of the dump box in the longitudinal direction. It was confirmed that a faster speed causes a greater temperature drop for the same travel time and a slower speed causes the more temperature to reach the same travel distance as expected. CONCLUSIONS : It is concluded that the coupled analysis method can be used to quantitatively evaluate the effect of vehicle speed on temperature drop in asphalt mixtures. In addition, the method can be used to determine the optimum travel path considering environmental conditions and traffic congestion.

        본 논문은 증기이송튜브를 이용한 현장경화 보강튜브 삽입공법(Cured in placed pipe, CIPP)의 성능을 평가하기 위한 실험적 연구이다. 연구를 위해 증기이송튜브를 이용하여 CIPP 라이너 시편 및 CIPP 라이너로 보수된 콘크리트관 실험체를 제작 하였다. CIPP 라이너 시편을 이용하여 단ㆍ장기 휨특성을 평가하였으며, 단기 휨특성 시험변수로 시점으로부터 떨어진 거리를 고려하였다. 단기 휨거동 평가결과 CIPP 라이너의 휨강도 및 휨탄성계수는 ASTM 기준에서 제시하고 있는 휨강도 및 휨탄성계수의 197%, 154% 수준으로 우수한 단기 구조 성능을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 시점부로부터 떨어진 거리와 CIPP 라이너의 단기 휨특성은 큰 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 장기 휨거동 시험내용을 이용하여 1차원 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 50년 경과 후 CIPP 라이너의 휨 탄성계수는 초기 휨탄성계수의 87.8%로 우수한 장기 구조 성능이 나타났다. 이 후 CIPP 라이너로 보수된 콘크리트관 실험체의 외압강도시험을 실시하였다. 외압강도시험 변수로 보수 유ㆍ무 및 시점으로부터 떨어진 거리를 고려 하였다. CIPP 라이너로 보수된 콘크리트관의 외압강도는 보수되지 않은 콘크리트관에 비해 초기균열 하중은 16.8%, 최대하중은 7.7% 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 외압강도 시험결과 시점으로부터 떨어진 거리와 외압강도는 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 실험체 제작시 증기이송튜브를 이용하여 CIPP 내부 모든 구간에서 균일한 경화온도를 확보할 수 있었기 때문으로 판단된다.

        본 논문은 하수관 보강 방법 중 보강튜브경화공법(CIPP)의 종점부 미경화 문제를 해결하기 위해 설계된 증기이송튜브 시스템에 대한 유동해석 결과를 보고한다. 설계된 증기이송튜브의 유동해석을 위해 SolidWorks Flow Simulation을 이용하여 해석을 수행하였다. 100mm, 150mm, 200mm의 직경을 갖는 증기이송튜브에 대한 유동 흐름 및 온도 분포가 유동을 해석을 통해 검토되었다. 해석 결과를 통해 증기이송튜브의 직경이 증가함에 따라 경화온도를 만족하는 CIPP 내부 길이가 증가하는 것이 확인되었다. 또한, 직경 200mm를 제외한 모든 직경의 증기이송튜브의 입구에서 증기 역류 현상이 나타남을 확인하였다. 이에 증기이송튜브의 최적 직경은 200mm로 결정되었으며, 이에 대한 유동해석을 통해 증기주입을 시작하고 350초 경과 이후에 CIPP 내 모든 길이에서 경화온도를 만족하는 것을 확인하였다.

        Even though sewers have been conventionally designed to prevent from sediment deposition using a specified minimum velocity or shear stress at a particular depth of flow or with a particular frequency of occurrence, it was appreciated that these methods do not consider the characteristics and concentration of the sediment and the specific hydraulic conditions of the sewer with sediment. In this study, a densimetric Froude number formula was suggested considering particle diameter and volumetric concentration of the sediment as well as flow depth and flowrate, based on several domestic field inspections, which was compared with other formulas proposed by previous investigators. When the sediment concentration was not considered, the calibration coefficient of 0.125-1.5 to the densimetric Froude numbers of this study was needed to obtain the similar ones with previous investigators’. For the densimetric Froude number formula obtained with consideration of sediment concentration, the exponent value of term Cv was almost the same as that of previous results and that of d50/Rh was similar for Fr < 2.2.

        한국의 경제 발전에 따라 양돈 사업의 규모가 커지고 대단지화 되면서, 생산성 향상과 높은 품질을 충족시키기 위해 축사시설의 체계적인 관리가 요구되고 있다. 그러나 효율성을 위해 밀집된 구조에서는 종종 여름철에 공기의 질이 나빠지고 온도가 높아지는 등의 문제를 일으킬 수 있다. 돼지는 저산소 및 고온에 매우 취약하기 때문에 생산성을 높이기 위한 환기 유지는 매우 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 전산유체역학(CFD, computational fluid dynamics)을 이용하여 환기 시스템의 문제점 및 개선 사항을 분석하는 방법을 제안하였다. 유한체적법(FVM, finite volume method) 기반의 fluent 프로그램이 사용되었고 난류 모델로 RNG standard k-ε 모델을 사용하였다. 환기 시스템의 효율적인 설계를 위해 실제 단층의 단순 구조 양돈사와 다층의 대형 양돈사를 대상으로 다종물질이송(multispecies transport) 해석기법을 이용하여 환기 효율 및 성능을 분석하였으며, 개선된 시스템의 유동순환이 원활하게 이루어짐을 확인하였다.

        Structural analyses were performed for a movable seat mechanism applied in a new type shower commode wheel chair. The wheel chair has slide rails below the wheel chair seat to help patient move to bed side. The slide rails and seat were modeled for the structural simulation. Experiments were performed to validate simulation results by using strain gage Rosettes. Student t-test was performed to the experimental data, which showed that the stresses obtained from the simulation were not significantly different from those obtained from the experiments. The slide rail structure was found to give a safety factor of 2.4 under 80Kg user weight with ten rollers used for seat support. The safety factor much increased by placing more rollers under the wheel chair seat. Our simulation revealed that rollers installed only in the central and corner regions were used as supports due to the bending deformation of the seat.
