This will be evaluated as a valuable study in terms of academic and practical productivity.
As the complexity and uncertainty of international construction projects increase, the importance of risk management capabilities in the construction industry has become more pronounced. Accordingly, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) has become a widely adopted approach among organizations as a new way for more effective risk management. Despite its growing application, research related to ERM is still in its infancy, and most of the existing studies have been limited to financial industries. Therefore, this study aims to empirically examine the influence of ERM’s core elements on project risk management (PRM) and project performance within construction firms. Our findings indicate that the key ERM components—organization, policy, and culture—significantly enhance PRM processes, underscoring their critical role and importance. Additionally, effective PRM positively affects project outcomes, highlighting its significance for construction companies engaged in international projects. While ERM does not directly impact project performance, it indirectly improves outcomes through enhanced PRM capabilities. It suggests that ERM will contribute to the firm’s performance by improving the firm’s PRM capability through policies and a risk-focused culture corresponding to the adopted ERM organization and system..

The successful implementation of green supply chain management(GSCM) practices requires a level of cooperation that can be difficult to conduct. Despite this challenge, limited scholarly attention has been paid to exploring how the implementation of GSCM practices can be effectively facilitated and enhanced through accumulated social capital with suppliers. Based on social capital theory, this study postulates that supplier network characteristics derived from social capital with key suppliers can be critical antecedents of GSCM, which in turn enhances the firm’s environmental performance. To test hypotheses, data were collected from 330 firms in 15 countries, and structural equation modeling was employed. Results show that GSCM improves environmental performance, and structural and cognitive social capitals of the supplier network act as antecedents and lead to GSCM implementation.
Project Management Information System (PMIS) is a special purpose information system that is created to provide useful information for project managers and participants to make effective and efficient decision making during projects. The use of PMIS is increasing in project based industries such as construction, defense, manufacturing, software development, telecommunication, etc. It is generally known that PMIS helps to improve the quality of decision making in project management, and consequently improves the project management performance. However, it is unclear what are the difference of PMIS impacts between industries, and still need to be studied further. The purpose of this study is to compare the impact of PMIS on project management performance between industries. We assume that the effects of PMIS will be different depending on the industry types. Five hypotheses are established and tested by using statistical methods. Data were collected by using a survey questionnaire from those people who had experience of using PMIS in various project related industries such as construction, defense, manufacturing, software development and telecommunication. The survey questionnaire consists of 5 point scale items and were distributed through e-mails and google drive network. A total of 181 responses were collected, and 137 were used for analysis after excluding those responses with missing items. Statistical techniques such as factor analysis and multiple regression are used to analyze the data. Summarizing the results, it is found that the impacts of PMIS quality on the PM performance are different depending on the industry types where PMIS is used. System quality seems to be more important for improving the PM performance in construction industry while information quality seems more important for manufacturing industry. As for the ICT and R&D industries, PMIS seems to have relatively lesser impact compared to construction and manufacturing industries.
There is a growing interest in project management knowledge, project management information systems, and process improvement to systematically project execution in public sectors, achieve high performance and value, and increase the effectiveness of the overall industry. In particular, the software industry is a knowledge-intensive industry centered on professional manpower. This study examines the effect of the project managers' competences of regional SW promotion agencies on and project performance and the moderating effect of the level of project management maturity. We collected data using a questionnaire to the project managers of regional SW promotion agencies. In this study, a structural equation model was used to analyze the relationship between project managers’ competences and performance. In addition, a multi-group structural equation model was used to analyze the moderating effect according to the high and low project maturity. As a result of the analysis, it was found that only contextual competence among the competences of the project manager had a positive effect on project performance. It was found that technical and behavioral competence did not have a positive effect on management and completion performance. It was found that the moderating effect according to the maturity of business management of local institutions was not significant.
Recently, the importance of project management has increased due to the scale and complexity of the construction projects. Therefore, this study conducted a survey on construction companies and related public institutions to verify the relationship between the role of the Project Management Office(PMO) and PM leadership for project performance. As a result, first, the role of the PMO was found to have an influential on the project performance. Second, the PM leadership was verified to has a moderating effect in the relationship between the PMO role and the project performance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influential of the role of PMO on project performance in the construction industry to suggest the necessity of PMO in the construction industry and the need to adopt PMO in large-scale construction projects and analyze the moderating effect of PM leadership on project performance.
In this study, through an AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis, the internal construction project was designed to analyze the factors affecting the performance of the project and provide suggestions on the quality of communication. To carry out this study, a selection factor was selected by referring to AHP theory and existing prior research. AHP technique was used to collect weights after analysis, examine and analyze gaps. In the interior construction project, the most important factor among the factors influencing the quality of communication to the project performance was communication interaction. Among the sub-factors, accuracy of exchange of information and timeliness of communication were shown in the order of importance. Looking at the results of comprehensive analysis of the first and second layers, the accuracy of information exchange among the elements of communication quality was found to be the number 1 in weight. The timeliness of communication, which is ranked second, and communication that takes place at an appropriate time can lead to efficiency in shortening the project execution period by eliminating unnecessary work. And, Among the factors that affect communication quality, it was analyzed that communication method is not an important factor when compared to other factors. This study shows that quality of communication influences the performance of interior construction projects and provides suggestions for improving communication quality. And it has been confirmed that managing communication quality can act as an important issue that can improve business performance in project execution and production of results.
Stakeholder management in construction projects is an important factor in project performance creation. The purpose of this study is to verify the effect of the recognition of the importance of the quality influence factors among the stakeholders of the construction project on the perceived quality and the project performance. The impact of the project management methodology on the project performance has been actively researched, but there is little research result on the project stakeholders. The projects to be researched are apartments and buildings that have been completed within the last five years of domestic large construction company. The method of survey is to measure the consensus of the importance of the quality influential factors among the three parties such as the ordering party, the design supervisor and the constructor, and confirm whether the agreement affects the quality of the actual project. Finally, the research model was verified by surveying the satisfaction of the client on the final product. The results are as follow. The degree of agreement on the importance of quality influential factors among stakeholders has a significant effect on perceived quality. In the relationship between perceived quality of influence factors, organizational (support) quality influenced technological quality and managerial quality, and technological quality and managerial quality also have significant influence on resource quality. The results of analysis showed that perceived quality of resources strongly influenced project performance. The remaining three experienced qualities also significantly affect project performance.
The use of Project Management Information System (PMIS) is increasing in project management industries such as construction, defense, manufacturing, software development, telecommunication, etc. It is generally known that PMIS helps to improve the quality of decision making in project management, and consequently improves the project performance. However, how much and which parts of project management performance are affected by PMIS still need to be studied further. The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of PMIS quality on project management performance. We collected data from various project based industries such as construction, defense, manufacturing, software development and telecommunication by using survey questionnaire. PMIS quality was measured in three dimensions. They are system quality, information quality and service quality. Project management performance was measured in nine variables such as time reduction, work accuracy, cost management, etc. Statistical analyses such as multiple regression were used to analyze the data. The results showed that PMIS quality had significant impacts on the project management performance and user satisfaction. It was notable that only two dimensions out of the three PMIS quality dimensions, system quality and information quality, affected the project management performance. Also, it was found that PM performance played a mediating role between PMIS and user satisfaction, and between PMIS and reuse intention. The contribution of this research is that it helps to clarify what aspects of PMIS affect the project management performance and user satisfaction.
Recently, PPP (Public-Private-Partnership) Projects, which private companies invest in, plan, design, construct and operate, have become more popular around the world. The construction industry environment is becoming increasingly competitive. The PPP project is composed of various organizations, so it is very difficult to carry out the project successfully. In this environment, the construction companies are trying hard to secure a competitive advantage. In this study, we tried to identify the role of project manager’s leadership and project citizenship behavior as a precedent for creating performance in PPP (Private-Public-Partnership) project. We examine the impact of PM’s transformational leadership and transactional leadership on project citizen behavior and examine the impact of project citizen action on project management performance and completion performance. For this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey on PPP project participants. As a result, the following results were obtained. First, transformational leadership and transactional leadership had a significant influence on project citizenship behavior. Second, project citizen behavior had a significant impact on both project management performance and project completion performance. The idealized influence of transformational leadership and the Active management by exception of transactional leadership were found to be very important in shaping PPP team’s project citizenship behavior. Therefore, this study has academic implications in studying the effects of PM leadership and project citizenship behavior on the performance of PPP project. And it is expected that it will help selection and training of PM to secure a competitive advantage for construction companies that implement PPP projects practically.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of project-based organizational resources on the business performance in the resource-based view (RBV) and dynamic capability one and analyze their relationship through an integrated model. The RBV argues that firms get competitive advantages when they have VRIN characterized resources but dynamic capability view argues that RBV has its limitation under volatility so it enables them to obtain competitive advantages in ever changing environments. This study analyzes data collected from 270 survey questionnaires on the project management related staff at the project-based organization among major companies in Korea. The result demonstrates that two project organizational resources on strategic and executional management with VRIN characteristics are found to bring positive effects on the organizational dynamic capabilities and also the dynamic capabilities such as integration & reconfiguration, organizational learning are verified to bring meaningful positive effects on the business performance. On the other hand, unlike previous studies, ambidexterity has quite a weak effect on the business performance. Therefore, we expect that the resources of the project-based organization with VRIN lead to strengthen the firm’s business performance through organizational dynamic capabilities and produce high performance through the integrated model of RBV and dynamic capability one. The study has academic meanings that widely confirm the effects and characteristics of main elements of VRIN project organizational resources on the business performance of competitive advantage through the dynamic capabilities of the organization by the regression on the precedent studies regarding the project management resources and their relationship with the VRIO characteristics. The practical implication is that it is preferentially necessary for the organization to obtain VRIN resources and organizational dynamic capabilities, especially organizational learning to have sustainable competitive advantages.

Lentinula edodes, shiitake, is a very important non-timber forest product that has been consumed more than 50,000 tons every year in Republic of Korea. However, the rapid increase of imported shiitake media from China has eroded domestic goods’ competitiveness. The domestic shiitake industry has faced this situation and has exerted great efforts to localizing shiitake spawn while encouraging the growers to utilize the domestic shiiake spawn. To address such a challenge, the “Golden Seed Project” was designed, with an objective to expand the market share of domestic spawn and to increase the exports of the domestic spawn within the period of 2013 to 2021. Under the project, two projects and five commissioned sub-projects have been conducted up to now, making some outcomes. Protections of two new varieties (Sanmaru 2-ho and Sanbaekhyang) of shiitake, whose cultivation periods were shortened up to 20 days compared to the existing ones, have been applied. Also, there have been three cases of technology transfers of new varieties to private enterprises, all of which contributed to disseminating domestic spawn. Besides, the research team has held public fairs and presentations of new shiitake varieties in a regular basis, while operating a total of 24 test beds consisting of log cultivation and sawdust bag cultivation. Meanwhile, other research projects have been done to identify fruit-body ingredients and the properties of molecular markers of mating types and to monitor diseases and pests. The second stage of “Golden Seed Project” aims to increase the share of domestic spawn in the domestic market, up to more than 70%.
