        The 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake in Japan caused significant damage to wooden structures due to strong ground motion and widespread liquefaction. This study examines the damage patterns observed in wooden houses and analyzes the underlying structural vulnerabilities that contribute to these patterns. Key findings include standard failure modes such as foundation settlement, soft-story collapse, torsional deformation, and joint failure. The evolution of Japan’s seismic design standards has been reviewed, highlighting the importance of balanced wall distribution, reinforced connections, and lightweight roofing systems. Based on field investigations, this study systematically classifies the types of seismic damage in wood structures. It develops a qualitative performance curve that visually illustrates structural behavior in terms of inclination, seismic damage patterns, and repairability. Furthermore, a seismic damage taxonomy is proposed to infer the causes of damage through logical links between observed failure patterns and structural vulnerabilities. This research establishes a practical foundation for the seismic design and retrofit strategies of wood structures, ultimately contributing to the advancement of earthquake-resilient construction practices.

        이 연구는 제2차세계대전기 체코슬로바키아망명정부와 대한민국임시 정부의 국제적 정부승인 시도 과정 및 연합국의 인식을 비교 분석한다. 베네쉬는 런던에서 서구 진영과 소련의 지원을 확보하며 군사적 입지를 강화했다. 특히 전쟁의 격화되는 동안 국제적 승인을 획득하여 성공적인 망명정부를 수립했다. 서구적 가치를 선호했던 베네쉬는 독일의 군사적 위협을 우려해 소련과 긴밀히 협력했다. 반면 임정은 체코슬로바키아의 승인 모델에 기반하여 외교적 노력을 기울였으나, 좌우 갈등과 국민 대 표성 문제로 정부승인 획득에 실패했다. 본질적으로 체코슬로바키아망명 정부는 소련의 참전으로 반독 세력이 결집하며 정부승인을 얻었지만, 임 정은 태평양전쟁 개전에도 불구하고 연합국과 소련의 정치적 이해관계로 인해 승인을 얻지 못했다. 해방 후 임정과 달리 체코슬로바키아망명정부 가 소련과 밀착한 것은 공산화로 이어지는 역설적 결과를 가져왔다.

        본 연구는 넷플릭스 오리지널 드라마 <오징어 게임> 시즌 2의 O/X 투표 시스템을 게임이론과 대리인 이론의 통합적 관점에서 분석한다. 연구의 핵심 가설은 게임 운영자가 정보 비대칭과 전략적 개입을 활용 하여 참가자들의 집단 의사결정을 체계적으로 조작한다는 것이다. 게임 이론적 분석 결과, O/X 투표는 다중 균형을 가진 조정 게임으로서 전 략적 불확실성과 조정 실패로 인해 사회적으로 비효율적인 균형이 실 현됨을 확인하였다. 대리인 이론적 분석에서는 전통적인 주인-대리인 관계가 역전된 구조를 발견하였다. 형식적으로는 참가자들이 주인이지 만, 실제로는 운영자가 핵심 정보를 독점함으로써 실질적 권력을 행사 한다. 이러한 정보 비대칭은 역선택과 도덕적 해이를 발생시켜 참가자 들의 합리적 의사결정을 왜곡시킨다. 운영자는 O/X 투표 시스템에서 선택적 정보 공개와 프레이밍을 통해 참가자들의 인식을 조작한다. 본 연구는 형식적 민주주의가 정보 비대칭과 전략적 조작에 의한 왜곡 과 정을 규명하며, 이는 현실의 의사결정 상황에 실천적 통찰을 제공한다.

        Sodium-ion batteries (SIBs) offer a viable alternative to partially or fully replace lithium ion batteries (LIBs) due to their lower cost and increased safety. This paper outlines the compositional optimizations, crystallographic evaluations, and electrochemical behavior of a novel mixed NASICON polyanionic compound, NaFe2PO4(SO4)2 (NFPS). X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) results showed that cobalt doping produces a higher concentration of oxygen defects compared to undoped samples. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis results revealed that the modified sample has more uniform pores and pore distribution. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) measurements showed that doping of Co2+ reduces the specific surface area of NFPS-Co0.08 compared to NFPS. This shortens the sodium ion diffusion pathway and promotes ion dynamics. The addition of Co2+ to the sample significantly improved its performance during galvanostatic charge-discharge tests. The electrochemical activity also is significantly enhanced by Co2+ doping. Na0.84Co0.08Fe2PO4(SO4)2 exhibits superior rate and cycling performance compared to pristine NFPS. After 80 cycles at 25 mA g-1, NFPS-Co0.08 retained discharge specific capacity of 60.8 mA h g-1, which is 1.24 times greater than that of NFPS.

        Purpose: Despite being preventable, diabetes is a major non-communicable disease with a steadily increasing premature mortality rate. Diabetes can cause various complications if not properly managed; therefore, it is necessary to consistently implement management strategies, such as diet and exercise. However, in reality, there are several difficulties. Among these, a lack of motivation, which is a psychological factor, is a major barrier. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze intervention studies based on motivational and self-determination theories for patients with type 2 DM to seek solutions and present future directions. Methods: We searched and analyzed studies utilizing motivational and self-determination theories from 2013 to 2023 using the PubMed database. Results: One study applied Motivational Theory only, whereas the other two applied self-determination theory only. Most studies have utilized theories other than motivational and self-determination theories. As an intervention method, there were many studies that used group sessions of 4~6 or more times and used communication devices such as cell phones to convey, check, or encourage implementation of the mediation content. Among the quantitative studies, only 10 applied Motivational Theory to measure physiological variables. Nine of these studies tested HbA1c levels and reported effective results. In addition, four studies measured physical activity (three reported that it was effective) and seven studies measured socio-psychological variables, reporting that it improved diabetes knowledge and self-efficacy and reduced depression. Conclusion: According to the results of this study, it is beneficial to develop programs in the future by incorporating theories that have been confirmed to be significant, in addition to motivational and self-determination theories. Furthermore, the newly developed intervention program should be structured to increase implementation by providing four to six small group education sessions and forming networks between educators and subjects, as well as providing continuous management through communication tools such as social media and fostering a solid psychological foundation through religious and spiritual experiences so that patients can actively manage themselves(diet control and exercise management).

        There have been meaningful changes in column stirrup spacing by KDS 41 20 00 in 2022, which is to decrease one of the spacing limits from the minimum section dimension to half of the minimum section dimension. Decreased column stirrup spacing increases the seismic shear resistance of columns and the seismic performance of the entire building. Among the effects of the column stirrup spacing change, this study focused on deformation compatibility in the seismic design of building frame system buildings with ordinary shear walls for seismic design category D. The beams and columns in building frame systems shall satisfy moment and shear strength, or deformation capability induced by seismic design displacement for satisfaction of the deformation compatibility. The commentary of KDS 41 17 00 describes that the deformation compatibility check can be ignored if the members in moment frames are upgraded to intermediate section details. The study showed that the deformation compatibility of columns was satisfied without additional consideration if the building frame systems were designed by the decreased column spacing in KDS 41 20 00. However, beams adjacent to walls needed further consideration, such as the recommendation of commentary in the code.

        Solar energetic particle (SEP) events, driven by solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs), are occasionally accompanied by ground level enhancements (GLEs), detected by neutron monitors. While GLEs represent only a subset of SEP events, their occurrence may provide insight into the acceleration and propagation mechanisms of SEPs. In this study, we conducted a statistical analysis of 122 SEP events from 1997 to 2023, including 16 events associated with GLE and 106 without, using elemental composition data from the ACE/SIS instrument and X-ray fluence data from GOES/XRS. The results show that SEP events with GLE exhibit significantly higher fluences of SIS elements (He, C, N, O, Ne, Mg, Si) than those without, particularly at high energy channels. Notably, the fluences of carbon and oxygen were particularly enhanced in SEP events associated with GLE, suggesting a potential role for these elements in the generation of GLEs. A strong correlation (average r ≈ 0.75) was observed between the X-ray fluence of associated solar flares and the elemental fluences in SEP events with GLE, whereas a weaker correlation (average r ≈ 0.32–0.40) was found for SEP events without GLE. These findings imply that the presence of a GLE is linked to distinct acceleration conditions and enhanced ion production, particularly of light ions with large charge-to-mass ratios. This study contributes to a better understanding of SEP composition, GLE-associated mechanisms, and their relevance to space weather forecasting and radiation hazard assessments.

        Lithium (Li) metal is a promising anode for next-generation batteries due to its high capacity, low redox potential, and low density. However, dendrite growth and interfacial instability limit its use. In this study, an artificial solid electrolyte interphase layer of LiF and Li-Sn (LiF@Li-Sn) was fabricated by spray-coating SnF2 onto Li. The LiF@Li-Sn anode exhibited improved air stability and electrochemical performance. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy indicated a charge transfer resistance of 25.2 Ω after the first cycle. In symmetric cells, it maintained a low overpotential of 27 mV after 250 cycles at 2 mA/cm2, outperforming bare Li. In situ microscopy confirmed dendrite suppression during plating. Full cells with NMC622 cathodes and LiF@Li-Sn anodes delivered 130.8 mAh/g with 79.4% retention after 300 cycles at 1 C and 98.8% coulombic efficiency. This coating effectively stabilized the interface and suppressed dendrites, with promising implications for practical lithium metal batteries.

        The structural, thermal, and electrical characteristics of the superconducting Bi2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10+δ compound are the main subjects of this work. The solid-state reaction (SSR) method was used to prepare the samples. The samples were placed in a furnace and heated at 820 °C for 70 hours at a heating rate of 5 °C/min. X-ray diffraction (XRD) studies were then performed on the prepared samples. XRD results revealed an orthorhombic crystal structure with variations in the lattice constants a, b, and c (where a = 5.416, b = 5.432, and c = 36.5 Å). The highest superconducting transition phase fraction (HTP%) was 78.76 %. The composition and morphology of the superconducting compound were studied using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Images were taken at 20 kX magnification, where we observed nanoparticles with a size of 86.65 nm had formed. The elemental analysis of the sample was conducted with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), and the results showed the presence of different elements and their proportions for each sample. Thermal conductivity was also measured and it was found that the sample conductivity increased with increasing temperature. The electrical resistivity was examined, and it was observed that the resistivity decreased as the sample was cooled. The results showed that the highest initial critical temperature was 131 K, while the zero critical temperature was 114 K.

        본 연구는 2 02 3년 2월 14일부터 15일까지 영동지역에 강설이 발생했던 사례의 종관적, 열역학적, 운동학적 특 성을 조사하였다. 분석에 사용된 자료는 ASOS 관측자료, 지상 및 상층 일기도 자료, ERA5 재분석 자료, 레윈존데 자 료, 천리안 2A (GK-2A) 위성 자료, WISSDOM 자료를 이용하였다. 사례 기간 북강릉(28 cm)에서는 가장 많은 적설을 보였다. 종관 분석에서는 동해상으로 차고 건조한 공기와 상대적으로 따뜻한 해수면 온도에 의해 대기 불안정이 형성되 어 눈구름이 발달하는 특징을 보였다. 특히 온도 분포와 온위의 연직 분석 결과에서 해안과 연안 지역으로 온도골이 위치하고 산악 경사면으로는 강한 온도 경도가 위치하는 특징을 나타냈다. 결과적으로 산맥의 저지 효과에 의해 북동 기류의 바람이 해안으로 불어 들어오면서 수렴역이 형성되고 결과적으로 하층 850 hPa 고도면 이하에서는 대류 불안정 이 강화되면서 영동지역으로 강설이 내리기 좋은 종관 조건이 형성된 것으로 사료 된다.
