This study aimed to investigate the growth and phenol content changes of basil (Ocimum basilicum L.) under five different light intensities and photoperiods, maintaining the same Daily Light Integral (DLI) conditions in a plant factory. Basil seeds were sown on a rockwool medium for four weeks and then transplanted. To maintain a DLI 17mol·m-2·d-1, light intensity and photoperiod were set at 16h-295, 18h-260, 20h-235, 22h-215, and 24h-200μ mol·m-2·s-1 and cultivated for four weeks. The harvested results showed that basil plant height, number of lateral branches, and leaf number tended to decrease from the 16h-295 treatment to the 24h-200 treatment. Shoot fresh weight, dry weight, leaf area, leaf width, and leaf length were significantly higher in the 18 h-260 treatment. The total phenolic contents in the 18h-260 treatment was significantly higher by 51.3%, 172.7%, 111%, and 119.7% compared to the 16h-295, 20h-235, 22h-215, and 24h-200 treatments, respectively. Therefore, it is anticipated that cultivating basil under the condition of 18h-260 treatment could yield enhanced growth quality and an increase in total phenolic contents.
재래유자, 개량종 I(유자+탱자), 개량종 II(유자+유자) 세가 지 유자의 종류별, 부위별 이화학적인 특성과 유기산, 지방산 및 향기성분을 분석하였고, 총 페놀 화합물을 분석하는 실험 을 수행하였다. 중량은 재래종이, 껍질(혹은 껍질+씨)의 비율 은 개량종이 높았다. 단백질은 재래종보다 개량종Ⅰ의 껍질 에서 다소 높게 나타났고, 회분도 개량종의 껍질에서 다소 높 았다. Vit. C는 과즙의 경우 재래종에서 29.6 ㎎%로 껍질에서 는 개량종 I이 57.7 ㎎%로 다소 높았다. 유리당은 과당이 주 였는데, 개량종 I에서 가장 높은 함량을, 유기산은 구연산이 대부분을 차지하였는데, 개량종 II에서 가장 유기산 함량이 높았다. 유자의 지방산 조성은 리놀레인산이 가장 많았고, 과 피와 과즙에서 품종별 특징을 보이고 있었다. 향기성분은 dl-Limonene이 향기성분의 64~70%를 차지하는 물질로, gammaterpinene과 함께 개량종 II에서 유의하게 높았다. 유자에 함 유된 총 페놀 함량은 품종별로는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았 으나, 과즙에 비해 과피에 2.5배 정도 많은 양이 들어 있었다.
지역별 백리향 지상부 잎의 phenols 성분의 효과적인 추출을 알아보기 위해 추출용매를 달리하여 추출하고, GC-MS로 분석한 결과thymol과 carvacrol을 포함한 phenol함량이 methanol 추출 시 울릉도, 제주 중간산지, 경기도, 제주도 고산지, 강원도 종이 각각 92.21, 84.92, 77.43, 74.16, 73.51%로 추출되었으며, ethanol 추출 시 전체 추출 성분 중 강원도, 제주도 중간산종, 경기도, 울릉도, 제주고산종이 각각 93.64, 93.62, 90.74, 89.52, 72.65% 순으로 나타났다. Hexane을 용매로 추출하였을 때에는 강원도와 울릉도 서식의 백리향은 거의 100, 95.71%의 phenol만 추출되었다.
This study was conducted to investigate the total phenol contents, antioxidative activities and antibacterial activities of twenty species of entomopathogenic fungi. The total phenol content was highest in Aspergillus flavus (553.0±52.15 ㎍/g) and A. parasiticus (529.9±60.10 ㎍/g). On the other hand those in other strains were within the range of 26.6~121.9 ㎍/g. The antioxdative activity was shown in the most of strains and the highest DPPH (1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) radical scavenging activity was observed in A. flavus (90.9±2.90%) and A. parasiticus (77.9±4.13%). This result indicated that the antioxidative activities were very correlated with the total phenol contents. The antibacterial activitiy was found in the every tested pathogenic bacteria. Especially, the antibacterial activity was strongest against Listeria monocytogenes and Escherchia coli.
Background : Miscanthus sinensis is a C4 crop with high photosynthetic efficiency and is known as a representative cellulose-based bio-energy crop originating in East Asia such as Korea, Japan, and China. It also has a high resistance to environmental conditions such as low temperature and drying and pests. However, many studies on the antioxidant activity of the M. sinensis have not been conducted. Therefore, this study was conducted to measure total phenol and total flavonoid contents of the M. sinensis accessions collected from some countries and to select the M. sinensis accessions with rich total phenol and total flavonoid contents. The results of this study can be used as basic data for future breeding.
Methods and Results : This study carried out the total phenol and total flavonoid contents analysis of M. sinensis collected from different country to preserve genetic resources. Total 205 accessions of M. sinensis were collected from the USA, China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and Zambia. Their leaves were extracted with 100% methanol and concentrated at 45℃. To determine total phenol and total flavonoid contents, we measured the total phenolic content and total flavonoid content. The highest total phenolic conten t(81.04 ± 0.02 ㎎·GAE/g) showed in the accession (PMS-178) from China. The highest total flavonoid content (32.66 ± 0.01 ㎎·QE/g) showed in the accession (KMS104) from Korea. On the other hand the lowest total phenolic content (1.11 ± 0.00 ㎎·GAE/g) and the total flavonoid content (0.81 ± 0.00 ㎎·QE/g) were obtained from the accession (M. sinensis ‘Super Stripe’) from USA.
Conclusion : In this study, we analysed the total phenolic and total flavonoid contents by country of origin.
The purpose of this study was to measure the bioactivity and antioxidant activity of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger. Orostachys japonicus A. Berger have been known to contain functional materials such as kaempferol, hydroquinone, methyl gallate, quercetin, gallic acid etc. To identify the main functional materials of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger, the contents of flavonoid and phenol were measured. We extracted Orostachys japonicus A. Berger powder from four solvents such as chloroform:methanol (CM, 2:1, v/v), distilled water (DW), 70% methanol, 70% ethanol. After that, this study determined tannin, total phenol, flavonoid content, DPPH radical scavenging activity, ABTS radical scavenging activity, ferric reducing antioxidant power and reducing power of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger extracts and as results of comparing each extract. respectively. From the above results shows that antioxidant activity and bioactivity of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger extracts was higher in the order of 70% ethanol, 70% methanol, DW and CM (p<0.05). The results showed that antioxidant activity of Orostachys japonicus A. Berger extracts supposed to affect by the total phenol and flavonoid contents.
바위솔 총 페놀 함량은 조사된 빛의 양 및 질소비료의 시비량과 밀접한 관계가 있으며 빛의 양이 증가될수록 질소비료의 시비량이 증가할수록 총 페놀 함량이 증가하는 경향이 관찰되었다. 총 페놀 함량은 여러 가지 조건하에서 인공적으로 재배된 바위솔보다 자연산 바위솔에서 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 자연산의 경우 개화 후의 총 페놀 함량이 개화 전의 총 페놀함량보다 높았다. 바위솔의 항산화능은 바위솔에 조사된 빛의 양 및 질소비료의 시비량과 관계가 있으며 빛의 양 및 질소비료의 시비량이 증가하면 대략적으로 항산화능도 증가하는 것으로 조사되었다. 인산 및 칼륨비료의 시비량과 총페놀 함량과 항산화능 사이에는 별 큰 상관관계가 없는 것으로 관찰되었다.
