        This paper is a study of a prototype development project in progress as part of an industry-academia joint technology development task. The so-called bird collision test equipment is a study to prove the validity of the performance and function content of the test equipment through the speed measurement of the specimen corresponding to the bird and other test procedures to evaluate its function by developing the bird collision test equipment, and the research and development goal is to establish a bird collision simulation test environment and develop data performance methods through this industry-academia study.

        Nuclear power plants in Korea stores approximately 3,800 drums of paraffin solidification products. Due to the lack of homogeneity, these solidification products are not allowed to be disposed of. There is therefore a need for the separation of paraffin from the solidification products. This work developed an equipment for a selective separation of paraffin from the solidification product using the vacuum evaporation and condensational recovery method in a closed system. The equipment mainly consists of a vacuum evaporator and a condensational deposition recovery chamber. Nonisothermal vacuum TGAs, kinetic analyses and kinetic predictions were conducted to set appropriate operation conditions. Its basic operability under the established conditions was first confirmed using pure paraffin solid. Simulated paraffin solidification product fixing dried boric acid waste including nonradioactive Co and Cs were then fabricated and tested for the capability of selective separation of paraffin from the simulated waste. Paraffin was selectively separated without entertainment of Co and Cs. It was confirmed that the developed equipment could separate and recover paraffin in the form of nonradioactive waste.

        The temperature of the spent fuel cladding is the basis for the evaluation of integrity. It is almost impossible to directly measure the temperature of spent nuclear fuel. Because spent nuclear fuel is dangerous. We are preparing a test to measure the cladding temperature with an equivalent fuel assembly by simulating the characteristics of spent nuclear fuel. PLUS7 was selected as the test target in consideration of the amount of generation, thermal water retention, residual moisture content, and manufacturability of domestic spent nuclear fuel. The nuclear fuel assembly is planned to be manufactured in two main ways. Except for the cladding tube that simulates decay heat, the structure will be manufactured by KEPCO Nuclear Fuel, and fuel rods and canisters will be manufactured by SUKEGAWA Electric in Japan. The same nuclear fuel assemblies as commercial skeleton will be applied. The temperature of the fuel cladding will be measured by attaching a thermocouple directly to the surface of the cladding tube. The canister is composed of a basket, a basket supporter, a heater and drain tube, a lead, and an observation window. The working fluid is water and helium, and the maximum pressure inside the canister is 1.1 MPa and the minimum pressure is 0.05 kPa. The maximum temperature of the surface of the cladding was designed to be 500°C, and the maximum temperature of the sealing to keep airtightness was designed to be 250°C. To satisfy this condition, we plan to evaluate the leak rate below 10−5 std.cm3·s−1, which is equivalent to helium tightness. The maximum heat of decay per fuel rod is 13 W, and one assembly is up to 3 kW. Production of the test equipment is expected to be completed in the first half of next year, and testing is scheduled to begin in the second half of next year. The test will evaluate all environments that the spent nuclear fuel may experience, such as dry normal conditions, abnormal conditions, wet conditions, and dry conditions. All data will be used for interpretation verification purposes.

        중공슬래브 시스템은 슬래브 중앙부의 콘크리트를 경량의 중공재로 대체하여 중량은 감소시키면서 동등한 수준의 구조성능을 지니는 경제적인 시스템이나 콘크리트 타설 시 비중의 차이로 중공재가 부상하게 되는 문제점이 발생한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 중공슬래브 공법에 적용 가능한 경량성형재 고정장치를 고안하고 부력저항성능을 평가하고자 하였으며, 고정성능 평가를 위해 정해진 실험방법이 존재하지 않으므로 이를 검증하기 위해 인발실험장치를 제작하였다. 시공 시 본 장치를 설치하는 과정에서 발생 가능한 변수를 기준으로 실험을 수행하고자 하였고 이에 합판의 상태 및 고정 위치에 따라 변화되는 고정성능을 파악하고자 하였다. 인발 실험 결과 일반합판과 비교하여 코팅합판의 경우 구멍의 크기가 중공재 고정장치의 인장성능에 큰 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타나 작업자의 편의 및 내력 확보의 안전성을 위해 코팅합판을 사용하는 것이 유리한 것으로 판단된다. 또한 고정 위치와 무관하게 동일한 수준의 고정성능을 지니는 것으로 보여져 설치 상태에 대한 별도의 확인 과정 없이 슬래브 상부에서 원터치 방식으로 고정 가능하므로 시공성이 향상된 것으로 사료된다.

        PURPOSES : It is well known that low temperature cracking is one of the most serious distresses on asphalt pavement, especially for northern U.S. (including Alaska), Canada and the northern part of south Korea. The risk of thermal cracking can be numerically measured by estimating thermal stress of a given asphalt mixture. This thermal stress can be computed by low temperature creep testing. Currently, in-direct tensile (IDT) mixture creep test mentioned in AASHTO specification is used for measuring low temperature creep properties of a given asphalt mixture. However, IDT requires the use of expensive testing equipment for performing the sophisticated analysis process, however, very few laboratories utilize this equipment. In this paper, a new and simple performance test (SPT) method: bending beam rheometer (BBR) mixture creep testing equipment is introduced, and the estimated experimental results were compared with those of conventional IDT tests. METHODS: Three different asphalt mixtures containing reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and roofing shingles were prepared in the Korea Expressway Corporation (KEC) research laboratory. Using the BBR and IDT, the low temperature creep stiffness data were measured and subsequently computed. Using a simple power-law function, the creep stiffness data were converted into relaxation modulus, and subsequently compared. Finally, thermal stress results were computed from relaxation modulus master curve using Gaussian quadrature approach with condierations of 24 Gauss number. RESULTS: In the case of the conventional asphalt mixture, similar trends were observed when the relaxation modulus and thermal stress results were compared. In the case of RAP and Shingle added mixtures, relatively different computation results were obtained. It can be estimated that different experimental surroundings and specimen sizes affected the results. CONCLUSIONS: It can be said that the BBR mixture creep test can be a more viable approach for measuring low temperature properties of asphalt mixture compared to expensive and complex IDT testing methods. However, more extensive research and analysis are required to further verify the feasibility of the BBR mixture creep test.

        In order to guarantee reliability of the environmental testing on defense systems, it is important to use test equipment that meets requirements of the related test standards. Especially with regard to the rain test method in MIL-STD-810G w/change 1, the latest standard, it has been highly needed to introduce a novel technique and system to provide droplet-size and precipitation-rate conditions. In this study, droplet-diameter spectra of various nozzles were measured by a high-speed camera. Then, a pair of nozzles were selected based on the experimental results showing the spectra lie within the range from 0.5 mm to 4.5 mm, as suggested in the rain test method. Also, the flow-precipitation rate calibration system was developed to precisely correlate the precipitation rate measured in the chamber and the flow rate into the nozzle bank. In conclusion, the rain test equipment has been successfully developed fulfilling the requirements of the test standard.

        Steering gear is the part of an automobile that change circular movement of steering wheel to lateral movement of rack to change driving direction. This can be classified with manual and power steering gear. Manual steering gear is operated only with human power while power steering gear use oil pressure support. These days power steering gear is more common to almost of the car. Recently a korean company manufactures a speed sensitive power steering which provide variable steering feel depend on the speed of car. The Broens company of Australia produces and exports the test equipments for the manufacture of power steering valves and assemblies to major vehicle manufactures. Some korean companies imported the test equipments from Australia, thus increasing the cost. The purpose of this study is development of the valve balance test equipment to measure the valve torque of the power steering gear. This study designed and manufactured the valve balance test equipment to take hold of the power steering valve using CAE analysis. In order to evaluate the performance of the developed valve balance test equipment, the R&R tests have been conducted.

        본 연구에서는 원전기기의 내진안전성을 증가시키기 위해 면진장치를 적용한 기기의 진동대 실험을 수행하였다. 원전구조물과 유사한 진동수 특성을 가지는 실험모형을 제작하여 실험에 사용하였으며 구조물 내부의 기기를 모형화 하기 위하여 400kg의 강체를 사용하였다. 탁월주파수 특성이 상이한 3종류 지진파를 이용하여 진동대 실험을 수행하였다. 면진장치로는 마찰진자형 베어링(FPS)을 사용하였다. 입력지진의 최대가속도를 0.1g, 0.2g, 0.25g의 3단계로 변화시키면서 실험을 수행하였고 또한 1방향, 2방향 및 3방향 가진에 의한 거동을 분석하였다. 실험결과 지진파의 연직성분이 FPS의 면진성능에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었으며 펄스타입의 속도성분이 큰 근거리 지진인 경우 면진효과가 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

        원전기기의 지진 안전성 평가를 위해서는 설치된 위치에서 발생가능한 지진하중을 고려하여 내진해석을 수행한다. 내진해석을 수행하기 위해서는 대상기기의 실제거동을 반영하는 해석모델을 구축하는 하는 것이 중요하다. 원전의 내진검증 기술 기준인 IEEE 344에서는 기기의 동적 특성을 결정하는데 도움을 주기 위해서 탐색시험을 수행할 것을 권고한다. 탐색시험의 종류는 기저 가진에 의한 방법과 임피던스 방법에 의한 방법을 제시하였다 본 연구는 원전의 한 대상기기를 선정하고 기술 기준에서 제시하는 공진탐색시험을 수행하고 그 결과에 대해 분석하고 현장 적용성 방법에 대해 검토하였다.
