The present study aimed to compare and analyze the particulars of and difference in medical expenses and their composition ratio for 2,026 patients hospitalized at 2 types of medical institutions (443 at a clinic and 1,583 at a hospital) in Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do under coverage of automobile insurance during 2009. From the analysis, it became evident that there were differences in individual characters of inpatients covered by automobile insurance, and details, composition and composition ratio of medical treatment for them depending on types of medical institutions. There was no difference, however, between the total and average medical expenses per capita even when markup rate was applied to the automobile insurance by types of hospitals. The ratio of radiotherapy and physical therapy in the composition of medical expenses was found to be extraordinarily high in clinics compared to that of hospitals. The composition ratio of the fixed cost including charge for hospitalization also turned out to be fairly high in all medical institutions.
When the trains are passed the station, a serious force is applied to ground and the caused vibration is propagated to the area of the station by the ground and rocks. The caused vibration brings about the operation interruption of the equipment which is sensitive to the vibration, or will bring about the structural damage of the station. In this study, to investigate the vibrational evaluation of railway station by the train service, the vibration simulation was performed and analyzed the effect of the vibration isolating countermeasure. From the vibration measurement, all trains that passed through the station exceeded the vibration criteria. Therefore, the vibration isolating countermeasure was established and the vibration simulation was performed.
As the quality of a weld joint is strongly influenced by process parameters the welding process, an intelligent algorithms that can predict the bead geometry and shape to accomplish the desired mechanical properties of the weldment should be developed. In this study, prepared by Φ1.6mm GMA welding of metal wire nose Advice jowelui 350A 600A grade level inverter welder and DAIHEN SCR's were carried out using welding. Welding conditions were 5.5m/min wire feed rate the welding current is rapidly transmit approximately 260A, welding voltage was about 30V. CTWD a 22mm, shielding gas was Ar 20L/min and the welding speed was a 240mm/min. Using data collected during welding equipment welding current and welding voltage waveform was analyzed by measuring the volume of the transition mode. Addition of CaCO3 as a loss of the spread of the weld bead dilution rate decreased, suggesting that, GMA in the overlay welding bead shape control, dilution control and may be used as a welding flux is considered. Stabilizing effect of the arc by the Ca-containing CaF2, CaCO3, CaMg(CO3)2, respectively, welding flux 0.1wt.% added GMA welding and weld overlay were evaluated with dilution, CaF2, and CaMg(CO3)2 added to the dilution of Seemed to increase.
The measurement of ice properties such as thickness, strength are important to know the performance of the ice breaking vessel. The measuring equipment of ice properties and methods are summarized in this paper. The actual measured data are also described. The strength of ice at Svalbard area on April 2010 is much stronger than the Chukchi Sea on August 2010. The mean strength of Svalbard is about 500 kPa and one of Chukchi Sea is 250 kPa. The first sea trial in Arctic sea using Araon was carried out in the Chukchi Sea. The power and speed was also measured to check the ship performance in ice. The speed was measured from GPS(Global Positioning System) and engine power was recorded from DPS(Dynamic Positioning system) of Araon. The design target of Araon in level ice is 3 knots in 1m thickness and 630 kPa flexible strength but mean speed in Chuckchi sea is 3.98 knots when 6.6 MW engine power, 2.4m ice thickness and 250 kPa strength. This results comes from the difference of ice types and the weak flexible strength of ice but it will be a good information to know the performance of Araon in similar ice condition.
This study was conducted to research how UCD(Ultra Constant Discharge) lamp lighting affects plant cultivation. To get the results within a short time, lettuce seedling was selected as a plant and nutrient hydroponic beds were used in a dark room for 100% artificial lighting. Two beds were installed for same distance lighting condition with UCD lamp and Hi-pressure Sodium lamp each and another two beds were installed for same light intensity condition with each type of lamp. After 15 days of cultivation, for both conditions, the yields under UCD lamp were weighed more than that under Hi-pressure Sodium lamp. The result can be analyzed that the spectrum of UCD lamp having near sunlight characteristic is much superior to that of Hi-pressure Sodium lamp having a line spectrum characteristic on yellow and red wavelengths for plant cultivation.
In this study, the structural analysis of cooling fan is combined with 3-D flow analysis by using CFD on fluid domain. The smoothly cooling flow with optimum design of cooling parts is essential at automotive combustion engine. The fan shape is modeled with three kinds of shape by varying the radius of the fan blade. By the results of analysis, the flow at Model I is more uniform than Model Ⅱ or Ⅲ. And the displacement at Model I is less than Model Ⅱ or Ⅲ. As the flow resistance of cooling fan at Model I decreases more than Model Ⅱ or Ⅲ, the efficiency becomes better.
The neck injury occupies the most of injury that happened by the rear impact car accident. This study was analyzed about influence of the neck injury in low speed rear impact and car crash accident investigation. There is no neck injury in low speed side rear impact. On the other hand, there is initial neck injury symptom of 10 % but no long-term neck injury symptom in low speed offset rear impact. It appeared that the possibility of neck injury in low speed rear impact is low. For the more study about the neck injury, it should be evaluate the effects of the car body structure, frame structure and rear crash pattern.
Recently, all-electrified houses have constructed and some tasks are being carried out to monitor energy consumption patterns. The energy monitoring includes various elements such as temperature, pressure, water flow, CO2, and electricity. In this monitoring, electricity consumption is one of the essential factors because the performance and energy saving levels are described by this physical quantity. This quantity depends on materials, structure, operation of the house, which operation means consumer's life style and usage patterns of home appliances furthermore. Firstly, this paper shows a control simulation method which were developed a few years ago. And some different methods are proposed considering flexible experimental condition.
Steering gear is the part of an automobile that change circular movement of steering wheel to lateral movement of rack to change driving direction. This can be classified with manual and power steering gear. Manual steering gear is operated only with human power while power steering gear use oil pressure support. These days power steering gear is more common to almost of the car. Recently a korean company manufactures a speed sensitive power steering which provide variable steering feel depend on the speed of car. The Broens company of Australia produces and exports the test equipments for the manufacture of power steering valves and assemblies to major vehicle manufactures. Some korean companies imported the test equipments from Australia, thus increasing the cost. The purpose of this study is development of the valve balance test equipment to measure the valve torque of the power steering gear. This study designed and manufactured the valve balance test equipment to take hold of the power steering valve using CAE analysis. In order to evaluate the performance of the developed valve balance test equipment, the R&R tests have been conducted.
In this paper, cycle performance analysis of cascade refrigeration system using alternative FREON refrigerants are presented to offer the basic design data for the operating parameters of the system. The operating parameters considered in this study include subcooled and superheated degree, and evaporating and condensing temperature, temperature difference of cascade heat exchanger in cascade refrigeration system. The COP of cascade refrigeration system increases with the increasing subcooled degree, but there is no significant changes with the increasing superheated degree. The COP of cascade refrigeration system depends on evaporating and condensing temperatures of cascade heat exchanger. Therefore, subcooled degree, evaporating and condensing temperature of cascade heat exchanger using alternative FREON refrigerants have an effect on the COP of this system. In this paper, COP of cascade refrigeration system using R23 for low temperature system and R507A for high temperature system is higher 8 ~ 29 % than using R13 for low temperature system and R22 for high temperature system.
The triple eccentric butterfly valve has metal sheet and this study about butterfly valve ceiling is an innovative approach. But it is affected by the static pressure as well as cross-current. The damage at the valve on the pipe resulted from the reflux is due to valve leakage. This study is investigated on the triple eccentric disk and it is applied with angle and the static pressure in all cases to develop cross-current triple eccentric butterfly valves. The disc with the diameter of 300A is valve against flow velocity. The entrance pressure by flow characteristics is performed with numerical analysis. As the result, valve torque production is reduced more than the conventional triple eccentric valve and entrance pressure is decreased on the increase of valve open angle. And flow coefficient can be known to be increased.
The swivel joint is an important part in hydraulic machine. The analysis on the material was made using the EDAX method to localize the swivel joint. Also, the modeling and design drawing were finalized with application of 3 dimensional measurement and structure analysis. The prototype product based on design drawing was made with cutting and grinding process. No abnormalities were found in the prototype product through the durability test and measurement. The localized swivel joint with light weight, price reduction and diversification was developed in this study.
Robots in various types carry and assemble parts through repeatedly and accurately moving to stored locations by combining linear motions. And, linear systems are used in orthogonal axes of robots and driven via ball screws, such as 2-axis cartesian coordinate robot in this paper. This paper presents the effect of the linear motion guide that is used in 2nd axis in 2-axis cartesian coordinate robot. Some simulation results show that the linear motion guide influence greatly in robot performance such as the nominal life of linear guide. When use LM guide that have capacity near in 2nd axis, this paper show that the nominal life on LM block of 1st axis increases 37.4% and that the specification of 2nd axis LM guide influences greatly the nominal life of 1st axis LM block.
Increasing needs for light weight and high safety in modern automobiles induced the wide application of high strength steels in automotive body structures. The main difficulty in the forming of sheet metal parts with high strength steel is the large amount of springback including sidewall curl and twist in channel shaped member parts. Among these shape defects, twist occurs frequently and requires numerous reworks on the dies compensate the shape deviation. But until now, it seems to be no effective method to reduce the twist in forming processes. In this study, a new forming process to reduce the twist deformation during the forming of automotive structural member was suggested. This method consists of forming and restriking of embosses on the sidewall around the stretch flanging area of the part. and was applied in the forming process design of an automotive front side inner member with high strength steel. To evaluate the effectiveness of the method, springback analysis using Pamstampa™ was done. Through the analysis results, the suggested method proven to be effective in twist reduction of channel shaped parts with stretch flanging area.
To analyze and verify the effect of replacing thermal storage heater by a cascade cycle heat pump using midnight electricity was installed and tested at a customer's house in Wonju, Korea. The electric night storage heater is consist of 30kW electric heater and 2,700 liters of thermal storage water tank to supply hot water for warming house floor. The power for electric heater was cut off and hot water was only generated by cascade cycle heat pump. Current thermal storage water tank was not eliminated and electric heater wiring was modified. Some operation logic of the heat pump was also modified for proper operation. The required capacity of the heat pump and hot water temperature for given warming condition were estimated. The estimated capacity of heat pump was about 19kW and estimated hot water temperature for proper heating was at least 75℃.
