봉황문 인문보는 조선시대 왕실에서 가례와 같은 중요한 행 사에 사용하기 위해 제작된 보자기로 창덕궁유물로 지정되어 국립고궁박물관에 14점이 소장되어 있다. 인문보引紋袱의 일종 인 봉황문 인문보는 보자기 중앙에 봉황문양이 그려져 있는 것 을 말한다. 인문보는 채색 물감을 이용하여 보자기 위에 다양 한 문양을 화려하게 그린 보자기이다. 봉황문 인문보 앞면에는 동물문양, 식물문양, 문자문양, 자연 현상문양, 보배문양이 복합적인 형태로 그려져 있다. 시문된 문 양에 담긴 복합적인 의미를 분석해본 결과 왕조의 연속성, 자 손 번창, 부귀영화, 무병장수 등을 담아 조선 왕실이 추구하는 이상향을 표출하였음을 알 수 있었다. 봉황문 인문에 관련된 고 문헌을 살펴본 결과 왕실에서 사용 하는 인문보의 제작은 왕의 허가가 있어야 하는 엄격한 절차에 의해 진행되었다. 아쉬운 점은 왕실의 주요한 행사를 기록한 고 문헌에는 수백 장의 인문보가 제작되었다는 기록은 있으나 제작과정에 관련된 기록은 남아 있지 않다. 봉황문 인문보와 관련된 선행연구를 살펴보면 대부분 궁중 보자기를 연구한 학술논문이나 학위논문 속에 일부분으로 다뤄 지고 있다. 본 논문은 이들 선행연구와 궁중 복식 연구, 궁중 문양 등을 연구한 논문과 단행본, 국립고궁박물관에서 제공한 봉황문 인문보의 관련 자료와 수장고에서 실물 친견 등을 참고 하여 분석하였다. 봉황문 인문보에 시문된 문양 분석은 발생 배경과 함께 각 문양에 담긴 의미를 분석하였고 색채 분석은 동양 전통 오방색 과 음양오행 원리에 따른 색채의 상징성을 토대로 분석하였다. 표현 기법 연구는 조선시대의 전통 채색 기법을 바탕으로 분석 하였다. 이를 통해 봉황문 인문보에 담긴 수준 높은 조선시대 의 예술적 가치를 증명하였다. 봉황문 인문보의 문양과 색채 및 표현 기법을 분석한 본 논 문이 현대 회화와 공예, 디자인, 건축 등의 다양한 예술 분야에 서 새롭게 재해석되어 활용하기를 기대한다.
사대부가 창작의 주체인 문인화는 필묵을 숭상하며 채색이 맑고 담백하다. 민화나 궁정 회화에 비해 정신적 의미의 표현 과 화면의 상징적 의미를 더욱 중요시하고 문인의 사고방식으 로 물상을 정신적 차원으로 끌어올려 화가 개인의 정서와 관념 을 투영한다. 이로써 작품은 정신세계의 물질화 형식으로 존재 한다. 그리하여 문인화는 ‘자기 위안’과 ‘유사성을 추구하지 않 고 운율 생성을 추구하는’ 회화 이념을 형성하였다. 문인화는 어떤 기법의 대명사가 아니라 일종의 관념이자 의 식이다. 필묵과 색채의 계승 면에서 채색-흑백-간결한 필묵-필 묵+색채의 발전과정을 거쳤다. 이는 오채의 아름다움을 보여준 당(唐)대에 기원하여 송대에 발전하였다. 당시 궁정 회화가 주 류적 지위를 차지하고 있었지만, 문인화가는 자신만의 회화의 길을 묵묵히 고수하며 탐색하였다. 북송부터 오대 시기까지 색 채를 벗겨냄으로써 차별화된 흑백산수화가 형성되었다. 원대에 는 복잡한 필치의 준찰(皴擦)을 버리고 깨끗하고 간결하게 화 면을 구성하였다. 대부분 수묵 위주이지만 화가는 ‘묵분오색’, ‘여백’ 등의 형식을 통해 문인화의 독특한 필묵의 언어 및 색채 관계를 형성하였다. 명·청시대에는 고대의 기법을 바탕으로 필 (筆)을 뼈대로, 묵(墨)은 살로 삼고 색으로 정신(神)을 입힘으로 써 필묵과 색채가 서로 돋보이도록 하였다. 본고는 회화 주체의 역할 변화 및 시대적 배경의 관점에서 문인화의 ‘기승전결’을 탐구하고, 문인의 내면 정신과 사고방식 을 결합하여 필묵과 색채 표현 간의 부침을 분석한다. 필묵과 채색으로 화면의 색채를 운용하는 관계에서 출발하여 문인화의 비판적인 색채 계승 및 재창조를 해석하고 문인화의 필묵과 색 채 간 긴밀한 연관성을 정리한다. 그러면 문인화를 더 잘 이해 하고 시대정신에 맞는 새로운 작품을 만들 수 있습니다.
오존은 수돗물 정수장에서 이용되는 소독 물질로 미세오염 물질들을 비롯해서 박테리아나 병원성 미생물체를 효과적으로 제거하는 것으로 많은 연구가 보고되어 있다. 본 연 구에서는 실내 사육 중인 붉은 체색을 지닌 Glyptotendipes tokunagai를 대상으로 서로 다른 농도의 오존 노출에 따른 영향을 파악하기 위해 치사율, 체색 변화와 heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) 유전자 발현을 측정하였다. 오존에 노출 된 G. tokunagai에서 농도-시간 의존적으로 치사율 증가가 관찰되었다. 또한 체색 변화는 오존 농도에 따라 붉은색의 체색이 체절마다 엷어지며 탈색되고 경직되는 현상이 보였다. HSP70 유전자 발현은 저농도인 0.2~0.5 ppm에서 노출 10분과 20분에 유의한 수준으로 높게 나타났으나 (P<0.05), 30 분 노출 후에는 발현량이 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 생리적으로 저산소층에 대해 적응능력이 뛰어난 깔따구 경우에도 오존은 매우 강력한 치사 효과를 유발하여 30분 노출 후 경직과 헤모글로빈 파괴로 인한 탈색이 유발되는 것을 보여주었다. 따라서 본 결과는 수돗물 정수장에서 병원성 미생물을 제거하는 데 사용되는 오존이 수생물에 주는 영향성을 파악하는 기초자료로서 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
The coat color of mammals is determined by the melanogenesis pathway, which is responsible for maintaining the balance between black-brown eumelanin and yellow-reddish pheomelanin. The melanogenesis-associated genes controlling pigmentation act as a complex and interact with each other to cause phenotypic and genotypic variations in cattle. That the MC1R genotype of Korean native cattle with dark muzzle was e/e or E+/e, while the genotype of Korean native cattle with light muzzle was E+/E+, which is a variant of the MC1R genotype in the Korean native cattle. Especially, the MC1R expression type is shows how much pigmentation, important factor in deciding its status in the coat and nose colours. However, information regarding the coat or nose colours-associated gene regulation of korean cattle is not yet unknown. Therefore, in this study was to investigate the expression patterns of melanogenesis-associated genes in black dot nose(korea brindle cattle) and normal nose(korea native cattle). Using microarray clustering and real-time polymerase chain reaction techniques, we analysed that the expression of genes involved in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and Wnt signaling pathways is distinctively regulated in the dark and light muzzle tissues. Differential expression of tyrosinase was also noticed, although the difference was not as distinct as those of MAPK and Wnt. We hypothesize that emphasis on the MAPK pathway in the Korea brindle cattle induces eumelanin synthesis through the activation of cAMP response elementbinding protein and tyrosinase, while activation of Wnt signaling counteracts this process and raises the amount of pheomelanin in the native cattle. Regarding the increasing interest in the genetic diversity of cattle stocks, genes we identified for differential expression in the brindle cattle vs. native cattle may serve as novel markers for genetic diversity among cows based on the coat and muzzle color phenotype.
This study was conducted to report the census survey results of south Korean Chikso (Korean Brindle Cattle) distribution and to diagnose the current coat color expression patterns. Two years Chikso census showed that there were 2,413 Chikso in 2013 and 2,754 in 2014 in south Korea. Number of animals between 0 to 35 months of age was 1,632 heads in 2014 which comprised 59% of total Chikso population size. The percentages of animals between 36 ~ 71 months of age and over 6 years of age were 31% and 10% of total. Out of 2,416 animals with class numbers assessed by their coat colors, 1,249 heads (52%) were in group I (with black stripes, class no. 1 ~ 3) and the others (class no. 4 ~ 7) were in group II (1,167 heads, 48%). Among the 1,551 animals that were photographed twice in 2013 and in 2014, 226 animals were assessed different coat color class numbers, and round 90% of which were within the ages less than 48 months. The number of animals switched in coat color pattern groups over a year was 56, which was 3.6% of total number of animals on survey. And around 88% of the animals switched in group category was of the animals younger than 24 months of age. Therefore, we conclude that the coat color pattern becomes rather stable at around 24 months of age in Chikso populaion in south Korea.
The purpose of this study is to develop a design as a high value-added exportable industrial product by developing a cultural product, that can be accepted as having universal beauty by people in the Western cultural area. This is done by, re-analyzing it from a modern perspective after applying the color representation, used in pop art, to Shin Saimdang’s Chochungdo (草蟲圖, insects on flowers) which clearly expresses Korea’s national emotion and aesthetic consciousness. The research method depends upon developing cultural products such as scarfs, neckties, handkerchiefs, and folding fans, which are communicated in the global market The expressive technique of pop art is utilized after reconstructing the color sensation of pop art in the aesthetic dimension of the natural, physical, and formative beauty of Chochungdo based on the whole understanding of our country’s genre of Chochungdo and Western pop art. With regard to the colors in the developed design, the basic colors were extracted and applied by selecting 10 pieces in the flower series, which were made with the silkscreen printmaking technique in the 1970s by Andy Warhol, a master in pop art. A work that integrates pop art, a global art trend, with Korean traditional culture is expected to highlight Korean traditional culture in the global cultural era.
The aim of the present study was to identify coat color associated genes that are differentially expressed in mature Korean brindle cattle (KBC) with different coat colors and in Hanwoo cows. KBC calves, before and after coat color appearance, were included. Total cellular RNA was isolated from the tail hair cells and used for microarray. The number of expressed coat color associated genes/probes was 5813 in mature KBC and Hanwoo cows. Among the expressed coat color associated genes/probes, 167 genes were the coat color associated genes listed in the Gene card database and 125 genes were the pigment and melanocyte genes listed in the Gene ontology_bovine database. There were 23 genes/probes commonly listed in both databases and their expressions were further studied. Out of the 23 genes/probes, MLPH, PMEL, TYR and TYRP1 genes were expressed at least two fold higher (p<0.01) levels in KBC with brindle color than either Hanwoo or KBC with brown color. TYRP1 expression was 22.96 or 19.89 fold higher (p<0.01) in KBC with brindle color than either Hanwoo or KBC with brown color, respectively, which was the biggest fold difference. The hierarchical clustering analysis indicated that MLPH, PMEL, TYR and TYRP1 were the highly expressed genes in mature cattle. There were only a few genes differentially expressed after coat color appearance in KBC calves. Studies on the regulation and mechanism of gene expression of highly expressed genes would be next steps to better understand coat color determination and to improve brindle coat color appearance in KBC.
The objective of this study was to determine the breed differences in the 3'-untranslated region (UTR) of MC1R mRNA, which may be used to distinguish Korean brindle cattle (Chikso) from other breeds. We investigated the relationship between the variation of 3'-UTR of the MC1R mRNA and coat color among different breeds and the Korean brindle cattle with different coat colors. MC1R mRNA expression levels were determined in accordance with the coat color and hair colors of the tail. Total cellular RNA was extracted from the hair follicles of the tails in Hanwoo, Korean brindle cattle, Holstein and HanwooxHolstein crossbred cattle. After cDNA synthesis, PCR was performed. Sequences of the 3'-UTR of MC1R mRNA were analyzed. The 3'-UTR of the MC1R mRNA from different breeds of cattle did not show any variations. There were no variations in the 3'-UTR of the MC1R mRNA in Korean brindle cattle with different coat colors. The levels of MC1R mRNA expression in hair follicles of the tail varied substantially among the Korean brindle cattle with different coat colors, except yellow coat color. Correlation between the MC1R mRNA expression in the hair follicles of the tail and coat color may be present in the Korean brindle cattle, but not between the variations of 3'-UTR of MC1R mRNA and coat color. Further studies to determine the regulation of MC1R mRNA expression from the hair follicles of different coat colors will be beneficial in clarifying the role of MC1R in the coat colors of the Korean brindle cattle.
This study researched the symbolic meaning of the costume colors in the independent film <Bittersweet Life>. The purpose of the study is to shed light on the relation between a film and the clothing color by exploring the symbolic meaning of costume colors as based on place images and as reflected in characters’ internal psychological states and situations. The conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the colors primarily presented were neutral shades of black and white or dark, almost-black tones, representing the negative narrative structure and depicting the image of a human being. Second, a series of bright blue shades were presented to reflect the positive narrative structure of a human being returning successfully to reality. Third, the application of color, involving both the psychological aspect as well as the symbolism of color, was effectively delivered to the audience. Fourth, the emphasis on color in the smallest details of costumes was analyzed, and it was found that symbolic color effectively communicated the whole image of transformation as the story progressed, clearly delivered delicate emotional messages, and contained symbolism relating to particular places and situations.

The experiment’s protocol required three steps: first, sixty subjects viewed 308 color chips; next, they recorded by themselves the proper color terms for those color chips; last, they selected the proper color terms matching both color chips and color terms. This experiment yielded several notable discoveries related to color recognition and concomitant color expressions. First, in the task examining systemic color terms, only 22.72% answers corresponded with the systemic color terms of KS A 0011. Especially notable was that the ‘Yellow’ color terms (31.35%) were at the top of the correspondence degree and the ‘Red’ color terms (16.58%) were at the bottom degree. Second, the task relating to idiomatic color terms revealed that ‘Namsack (dark blue), Bora (deep purple), Jaju (deep purplish red)’ color terms (23.33%) were at the top level and ‘Red’ color terms were at the bottom. Next, we elucidated three controversial points regarding KS A 0011: Lee, Hyun-hee․Shin, Ho-cheol. 2012. 흑색계(캠벨어얼리, 거봉, 머스캇베일리에이)와 적색계(노스레드)의 4종류의 포도 품종에 대하여 안토시아닌의 조성을 분석하고 과피에서 추출한 안토시아닌 색소의 색발현을 조사하였다. 조사한 4종류의 품종에서 모두 12종류의 안토시아닌을 확인할 수 있었으며 흑색계 품종에서 특히 머스캇베일리에이 품종은 안토시아닌 조성이 가장 다양한 반면 적색계의 노스레드는 안토시아닌 조성이 비교적 단순하였다. 포도 과피에서 안토시아닌 농축액을 조제한 후 품종별 색 발현
