        The global trend is the application of heat-treated omission materials to reduce the manufacturing cost of automobile steering parts. Attempts have been made to apply heat-treated omission materials in domestic, but they are delayed due to concerns over rising cold forging process costs. For quantitative prediction of cold forging process cost, fatigue properties of forging die materials were evaluated. Based on this, the die life and cost were predicted quantitatively, and the manufacturing cost reduction of automobile steering parts using heat-treated material was found to be about 11%. Also, various methods to improve die life were additionally presented.

        The estimation of heat source model is very important for heat transfer analysis with finite element method. Part I of this study used adaptive simulated annealing which is one of the global optimization algorithm for anticipating the parameters of the Goldak model. Although the analysis with 3D model which depicted the real situation produced the correct answer, that took too much time with moving heat source model based on Fortran and Abaqus. This research suggests the procedure which can reduce time with maintaining quality of analysis. The lead time with 2D model is reduced by 90% comparing that of 3D model, the temperature distribution is similar to each other. That is based on the saturation of heat transfer among the direction of heat source movement. Adaptive simulated annealing with 2D model can be used to estimate more proper heat source model and which could enhance to reduce the resources and time for experiments.

        Recently, automobile manufacturing companies, which are major customers of them, are requiring IATF 16949 (ISO/TS 16949) certification as a mandatory requirement to secure product quality. In particular, IATF 16949 : 2016, revised in October 2016, was reinforced product traceability requirements for production information management by lot in the production process. Therefore, small and medium-sized precision parts processing companies in the automobile industry are very difficult to survive due to quality and price competition for customers satisfaction. MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is required to solve this problem. However, small and medium sized precision parts processing enterprises are reluctant to introduce the MES which is not suitable for the manufacturing environment of them such as high cost and low utilization. Even if the system is introduced, it is difficult to operate and maintain the system because the lack of computer manpower. In this paper, we propose a method for building a lot tracking system for small and medium precision parts processing companies by reviewing relevant literature and analyzing cases. In addition, by managing the production history for each lot of the final product in the system, we will grasp the effect of reducing the quality failure cost obtained by minimizing the range of defect selection.

        PURPOSES: Most of the traffic surveys are carried out by an inspection method by the manpower. In some cases, the video equipment is used only in some regions when the traffic volume is surveyed. In this case, there is environmental restriction that the road equipment to fix the video equipment should exist. Also, in areas where information such as digital maps and satellite photographs is old or not provided, they are forced to rely on manpower research, but it is difficult to put huge amounts of time and money into the research in places where labor supply and demand is difficult. This difficulty is particularly pronounced in overseas business. METHODS : The purpose of this study is to improve the efficiency of business by using the drones in the traffic investigation through analysis of the cost reduction effect between the existing method and the proposed method in the overseas business traffic survey. The scope of the research is limited to the scope of research, and based on the case of overseas projects, the method of using drone for each research sector is suggested. RESULTS: In the traffic condition survey section, we propose the use of drone for traffic survey and queue length survey, and it is confirmed that there is a cost saving effect of 16% ~ 27% compared with the existing method. In the road condition survey, we propose the use of drones for road surface linear survey, geometry survey, and obstacle survey, and it was confirmed that the cost reduction effect is 39% ~ 93% compared to the existing method. CONCLUSIONS: In addition to overseas business, it is expected that it will have a positive effect on research time and cost reduction by using drone in traffic survey in domestic area where labor supply is not easy or basic data is insufficient.

        현재의 역삼투막 담수화는 전체 담수화 시장의 60%정도를 점유하고 있으며, 향후 2020년에는 70%까지 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있다. 역삼투막 공정의 Cost는 전처리 공정, 멤브레인 배치, 원수 및 최종 생산수의 요구수질 조건 등에 따라 다르므로, 설계에서 운영에 소요되는 모든 비용 구성을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 대부분 전력비와 시설투자 비용에 80% 이상이며, 운영/유지보수에 20% 정도 차지한다. 당사에서는 역삼투막 전력비저감 및 고효율 전처리 개발과 운영/유지비용을 줄이기 위한 기술개발을 하고 있다. 또한 탈황 폐수처리를 위한 증발 무방류(Zero Liquid Discharge) 공정에 역삼투막(RO) 또는 정삼투막(FO) 공정을 결합하여 증발기의 용량을 줄여 열/전기에너지를 저감하는 공정 연구와 저염분 처리를 위한 전기화학 탈염 공정(CDI) 연구 개발을 수행하고 있다.

        This study is intended to evaluate a risk of overseas construction companies. To achieve this, a survey was empirically carried out to overseas construction site experts. The results were as follows. The relative importance of parent factors showed that‘social culture’(0.157) was the highest, followed by ‘institutional regulation’(0.150),‘environment’(0.145),‘productivity’ (0.142),‘economic finance’(0.137),‘market condition’(0.136) and‘political policy’(0.133). As for the above-mentioned findings, the most important risk factor in overseas construction was social culture of entry countries, followed by construction-related legal system. All construction companies, contractors and design companies said that social culture was the most important parent factor, varying from construction industry. And they said that workforce availability was also the most important in the importance of sub-factors, followed by conflict due to the differences in lifestyle. Consequently, it is important to manage risk for socio-cultural factors in overseas construction, risk for double workforce, and risk for the differences in thinking or lifestyle by the participation of multinational workforce.

        IPS(Ideal Production System) is a strategic cost management establishing ideal target cost, innovating cost structure and reduction. However, IPS was commonly used in assembly industry acquiring components and using them to assemble vehicles etc. Applying IPS to steel industry is a new try and not easy because cost elements in flow manufacturing are clustered and obfuscated in a complicated way. This paper proposes ICM (Ideal Cost Management) method adaptive to steel industry. One of the biggest advantages is that ICM could classify and categorize costs in detail according to accounts and manufacturing machines. Based on ICM information, steps of extracting and maximizing ideas are followed effectively. From 2013, ICM was applied successfully to POSCO Pohang Steel Works 38 factories.

        This paper develops a two-echelon supply chain model with variable setup cost and environmental impact. A single-setup-multi-delivery (SSMD) policy is adopted to increase the efficiency of transportation in the supply chain in which it is assumed that the shipment lot size of each delivery is unequal and variable. Each delivered item goes through inspection process at the buyer’s end. After inspection, defective products are returned to the vendor for reworking process. Due to inspection process, end customers receives perfect quality items. Due to more transportations by SSMD policy, this model assumes carbon emission cost to help the world environment. An investment function is used to reduce total setup cost for the whole supply chain. Stackelberg leadership approach is utilized in this model to optimize the joint total cost of vendor and buyer. Finally, some numerical examples, sensitivity analysis, and graphical representations are given to illustrate more savings from existing literature.

        This paper carried out design in order to reduce the process of asymmetric pinch yoke, one of the important parts which transfer power to wheels through gearing box in automobile steering system. The purpose of the study is to reduce prime costs and strengthen competitiveness by designing the total 8 processes including the up-setting and forging process of the No. 1 as the forging process the current method of production. The process with die stress analysis by using the finite element method have been carried out through new optimal die design. As this study result, it is expected that die life can be secured as excellent material flow and caused by forming load. A prototype has been produced by basis of the analysis result and the reduction of the process was successful. As the unit price is lower than that of the current process, the competitiveness can be expected.

Then this paper deals with the development of new business model which can reduce the transportation cost for global logistics through efficiently overcoming the constraints as length, size, and weight of product. We explain this model with application for company which export the automobile parts. We can expect the transportation cost reduction by 50%.

        As the industry develops, the amount of wastes is increasing in the economic system with various needs. As a result, the environmental problems are emerging as serious social issues and all the parties are required to make their best efforts. Among the issues proposed as the environmental issues, the logistics-related issues are exhaustion of the resources, global warming, environmental pollution, and acidification and so on. In order to respond to the environmental issues of the earth, the advanced countries are setting retrenched goals, reduction of the new greenhouse gases and accomplishment of retrenched goals by cooperation between the nations. Economic activities inevitably bring environmental problems and logistics is implementing those activities. The companies should perform the roles to resolve the environmental problems as the main cause of environmental pollution. Therefore, along with spreading recognition of social demand, the companies are required to establish policies regarding the environment and they should approach the issues from the perspective of resource circulation. These environment-friendly activities are emerging as the new source of competitiveness in the logistics field. Therefore, this study analyzes the effects of environment-friendly logistics activities on the reduction of logistics cost to reduce and resolve the environmental issues such as environment preservation, recycling and so on.

        The use of the gas turbine for power supply is increasing recently. Accordingly, the operation and maintenance cost of the gas turbine is gradually increasing and the various efforts to cut the cost are needed. For an operation and maintenance cost saving of the gas turbine, reductions of the new purchasing charge and the reproduction repair cost of the hot gas parts are required through more effective operation and life management methods for the hot gas parts. The hot gas parts are the main parts of the gas turbine and they are replaced with the periodic. In this research, efficient operation and life management methods for the hot gas parts were presented with the cases. The methods were analyzed and verified based on real data and the cases for improving a lifetime were utilized in the field.

        제조업의 경쟁력 향상을 위한 수단으로 제조원가의 절감 기법이 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 코스트 반감법에 대한 내용을 분석하고, 사례를 연구하여 제조원가의 절감에 대한 연구를 하고자 한다. 제조원가를 반으로 낮추는 방법에 대한 연구가 진행되었다. 실현 가능한 최저의 원가를 통하여 이를 규명하는 방법이다. 이를 미니멈코스트라고 한다. 제조업의 제조원가를 분석하는 기법 중에서 미니멈 코스트를 분석기법이 체계화가 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 실현가능한 최저의원가를 미니멈 코스트로 정의 할 경우, 미니멈 코스트를 산정하는 방법, 미니멈 코스트를 달성하기위하여, 과제를 발굴하는 방법, 과제 추진을 활성화하는 방법, 추진 결과 목표달성이 미진할 경우 이를 보완하는 방법, 이러한 활동을 지속적으로 추진하는 방법 등의 체계화를 하고자 한다. 이를 통하여, 제품별 최저 원가를 산정하는 방법과 이를 달성하는 방법을 활용하여, 모든 제조업의 가격 경쟁력을 지속적으로 유지할 수 있는 좋은 수단이 될 것이다. 특히, 자동차산업, 전자산업, 중공업, 조선 분야의 적용을 구체화하여, 바로 업무에 적용할 수 있는 체제를 구축하고자 한다.

        Many Korean companies are challenged to reduce logistics cost and meet environmental-friendly logistics. The textile companies in harsh competition are requested to make improvement on their logistics environment to cut down the total cost. However, they have reached the limit on improving the manufacturing process. We believe that the logistics department is the most improvable part at present. Improving logistics will be highly effective to cut down the total cost. In this study, we present Pad Pool System(PPS) as the solution to save their logistics cost. PPS, which means the shared use of Styrofoam pads, will enable the textile companies to cut down their cost and strengthen enterprise competitiveness. Also, PPS will be helpful reducing environmental disruption because the system reuses retrieved Styrofoam pads many times.

        The logistics cost in Korea is very higher than that of the other countries. Thus, we propose to the way to reduce company's logistics cost in the paper industry. Each company in the paper industry is having its particular sized pallets and using them to manufactured products, store, deliver, retrieve empty pallet and so on. In this reason, the logistics cost is still increasing.         A field case study was performed to investigate the effect of shallow ponding in paddy field on irrigation water requirement of direct seeded rice. In addition, an economic analysis was made to see the effect of no-till direct seeded rice on cost reduction. A field study was performed at a 2.1ha paddy field in Kimjae city, Chonbuk province from 1991 to 1999. Various direct seeding methods such as dryland seeding, wetland seeding, and no-till wetland seeding were introduced. Then, cost reductions due to the direct seeding and no-till were calculated. In addition, to investigate the effect of shallow ponding on irrigation water requirement, field measurements such as irrigation water volume, drainage water volume, rainfall depth, and ponding depth, were made at a 40a plot within the same area in 1988 and 1990. The results of the shallow ponding study showed that the irrigation water depth, rainfall, and the drainage depth were 379mm, 458mm, and 448mm in 1988 growing season, and 274mm, 819mm, and 736mm in 1990, respectively. The shallow ponding irrigation method saved irrigation water by about 20% with higher yield compared with the traditional method. The economic analysis showed that won \640,000 per ha can be saved by direct seeding due to no nursery cost, and \1,220,000 per ha due to no-till and no nursery cost. The yields ranged 540 to 640 kg per 10a during the study period with an average of 590kg per 10a. If these cropping techniques with no-till direct seeding and shallow ponding depth for rice cropping prove to be advantageous with further study, they can be adopted for the most of the paddy fields in Korea.

        In all larger hardmetal workshops furnaces for dewaxing, vacuum sintering or vacuum and overpressure sintering are today's standard. The furnace technology is well established. Equipment specifications such as operating overpressure, determine sintering cost, product quality, safety and reliability of the furnace and ultimately influence the competitiveness of the hard metal procucer in the global market. Essential furnace requirements are an efficient utilization of the furnace, an environmental friendly dewaxing system, high temperature uniformity, metallurgical treatment with process gases, as well as reduced cooling time by means of rapid cooling. Examples of reduced sintering costs are described achieved using a new design of vacuum sintering furnace with an improved rapid cooling device, cooling times are reduced by up to 45%. Additionally, a cost comparison of two different designs of vacuum overpressure sintering furnaces are included.
