Aluminum angles are widely used as tension members with bolted connection in buildings. In current design specification for net tensile capacity, reduction factor (U) is usually used to account for the effects of shear lag and bending induced from load eccentricity. In this paper, an investigation on reduction factor (U) of bolted angle connections was conducted and focused on net section efficiency according to the change of plate thickness and bolt arrangement. Exception to some specimens with short end distance and 1x1 bolt arrangement, all most specimens failed by net tensile fracture accompanied by curling at outstanding leg. The value of curling deformation has increased with increase of end distance (e) and the curling influenced the fracture mode of bolted angle connection. Also, net section efficiency has tended to increase according to the increase of bolt number and plate thickness.

Long span arch structure is composed of arch as relatively flexible structure and column as relatively rigid structure. In this study, the characteristic of dynamic response is analyzed according to the dynamic characteristics between arch and columns. The result of analysis for arch as relatively vertical vibration mode is dominant, the influence of columns mainly appears at relatively high frequency band according to increase of 1st mode frequency in column.

Most of these studies focused on the strength of girders through analysis and experiment of corrugated steel plates and studies on the optimization of corrugated steel plates are still insufficient. This study developed the weight optimum design using the differential evolution. The optimization program was verified with differential evolution through the numerical analysis examples of simple beams. For this verification, the optimization program using the genetic algorithm that has been studied was compared with the weight optimum graph of the optimization program of differential evolution proposed in this study. As a result, the graphs of these two optimization programs increased similarly. And then, in the graph of changing design variables, the changing web thickness showed a similar trend as the increasing trend of the optimum sectional area.

A cable structures have the advantage that cover a large space without column but it is very sensitive to deal with shape control because of its flexibility. Especially, location of control member and needed elongation of member are important things. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is studied on displacement control technique for pre-stressed cable structures by force method considering order of control.

This paper aimed at modeling a triangular mesh for triangular grid dome by using improved harmony search algorithm. For this purpose, an optimization process to find a regular triangular mesh on the curved surface was proposed and a program for this was developed. The objective function consisted of the standard deviations of the area and the boundary length of each triangle, and the design variables were regulated by the upper and lower boundary conditions which were calculated depending on the nodal connectivity. Triangular grid dome, which initially had consisted of irregular triangular meshes, was selected as target example. In dome model, its result was very approached to the minimum standard deviation of the area and the boundary length of each triangle.

This study was evaluate the shear buckling characteristic of sinusoidal corrugated plate. We analyzed the effect on shear buckling about shape parameter based on the design equations proposed as a theoretical method shown in the existing studies. We was performed the eigenvalue analysis about sinusoidal corrugated plate using finite element analysis program. and then, This result was analyzed the shear buckling tendencies and verified the buckling characteristic changes.

In this study, the screw-ribbed reinforcement and grout-type mechanical coupler device were developed to improve the poor constructability and seismic performances of the reinforced concrete columns with splice connections in longitudinal bars reported in existing literatures. The screw-ribbed reinforcements connected by grouted-couplers can maximize the confinement between the sleeve and concrete, and also minimize the inevitable gaps between reinforcements in coupler device. To verify the seismic performances of reinforced concrete columns with proposed mechanical connections, four reinforced concrete columns designed as the intermediate moment resisting frame specified in current code of practice were fabricated and tested, and test results showed that the reinforced concrete column with grouted-sleeve splices can provide the same or more enhanced seismic performances compared to that without splice.

In this study, the amount of construction waste created from Demolition and reconstruction of old buildings by environmental contamination by construction waste has been raised as a social problem, according as a means to settle problems the government is being encouraged the use Recycled aggregate. However recycled aggregate has not yet been applied to structures in many cases. Due to uncertain technical verification of long-term durability, the use of recycled aggregate is being limited. Accordingly in this study, High Strength Concrete Beams use Recycled coarse Aggregate to evaluate the performance of the bending and establish national standards for structural design of recycled aggregates aims to provide the basic data.

In this study is experiment result of steel fiber reinforced concrete shear walls with deformation capacity and structural performance. To assess the deformation capacity and structural performance of shear walls, slits and steel fiber was used as a variables. The experimental results show that steel fiber reinforced concrete shear wall is superior compared to normal reinforced concrete shear wall. The experimental results of shear wall with slits is too.

The current American Concrete Institute (ACI), Canadian Standard Associate (CSA) and CEB-FIP code suggest that deep beams should be designed using the strut-and-tie model approach. This paper investigates the validity of the current ACI, CSA and CEB-FIP code provisions on the shear strength of simply supported reinforced concrete deep beams by comparing them with the shear strength equations proposed by Hong et al. (2002) The comparison shows that all of these code provisions provide reasonable estimates on the shear strength of concrete deep beam members and the ACI and CEB-FIP codes results in similar estimates while the CSA code relatively underestimate the strength.

The nomal method of field load test for bridge in the guide book is too complex to execute high-speed railroad bridge. So, the modificated method by regular schedule train is researched with the raw data of 14 bridge executed in the year of 2011 & 2012. By daily test train, the static measurement are within a range the relative error 1.2% and the common load capability are caculated within a range the relative error 1.4% comparing the nomal method.

Fish movement was blocked by Dam construction in korea, but fish of the ecosystem can be destoryed without movement of fish in the small stream or river. In this study, the water ladder type of fishway with the fish's ecological specific character is proposed. That is created similar to the real natural environment in order to overcome differences in water pressure. It consists water hydrology, bypass, viewing chamber and viewing windows. It is used IT pumping system and bypass fishway for dry season especially. 3D analysis by SAP2000 Soft Ware is essential in concrete structures for the degradation of its durability using the multi-functional fishway's advantages.

SFSM-LS algorithm, the economic and effective estimation method for the structural deformation shapes with limited displacement measuring points is developed(Choi, 2003). A Wave dissipating block is commonly used for the protection of shorelines and rubble structures. In Korea, however, many dissipating blocks, designed without any reinforcement, are often damaged by typhoon or excessive strong wind. To protect from the structural failure of blocks, the reinforcements are needed where the tensile stresses occur. In this study, numerical analyses are performed to investigate adequate location of reinforcement. Two types of wave dissipating block(TETRAPOD(T.T.P) and Dolos) are considered in this paper with various load and boundary conditions.

In this strudy, it establish nonlinear finite element analysis for beam-to-column connections constituted high strength steel beam and general mild steel beam. it analyze major structural performance of connections according to stiffness and strength of both-way beams and it consider the structural problem of application of high strength steel beam through the analysis results.

Solar tracker structure is usually installed outdoor. Therefore, the structure can be influenced by wind load and snow load. In this study, the safety evaluation is performed by analyzing the results according to structural modelling and analysis for solar tracker structure. Also, solar tracker structure module is presented under the various design variables.

In this study two kinds of cases were selected in order to develop roadway system. Specifically two boundary conditions were considered with varying support offset. In each case, relatively loading Dead load, Live load, Temperature load, displacement and reaction force were analyzed at the end of slab. Residential structures have been constructed near roads and railways in order to obtain an easy access to city and solve the limited land-use problem. But this trend has a weak point, such as noise and vibration due to the public transportation and it caused to make a civil petition. The goal of this study is to analyze the train-induced ground vibration effects on the structure and its reduction technique. Finally, this study can be helpful to provide a guideline to solve a civil petition and make a vibration reduction device.
