The wind load characteristics are represented by wind speed, wind direction, turbulence intensity, roughness index of terrain, spectral density and so on. In this paper, the wind load characteristics of long span bridges in general national roads are evaluated based on measured data of wind speed and direction.

This study suggests and examines the ways of asset valuation on maintenance scenario for bridge facilities. In order to evaluate each scenario on the basis of the same time, the concepts of the condition assessment data are introduced and applied. The main purpose of this study is to suggest asset valuation method, which is practical in conformity with domestic situations, through researches on asset valuation method of bridge facilities. As a consequence, the management and maintenance system of existing highway facilities needed an innovation involving the concept of asset management. This study discusses the new facility management system suitable to local highway agencies. The developed system improves the current methods of establishing the bridge maintenance strategy and can be utilized as an efficient tool to provide the optimum bridge maintenance scenario and corresponding to the various constraints and requirements of bridge agency.

Although understanding and interesting of safety and maintenance on domestic facilities are important, there is little recent on a comprehensive and integrated survey of actual condition. Therefore this study asserts the necessity of the survey methodology. The purpose of this study is to investigate current situation and to suggest integrated facility breakdown structure, and to establish survey process of actual condition on domestic infrastructure facilities and buildings.

Failures of curved bridge have been occurred due to the negative reactions in construction and in survice and this problem has been issued in our society. In this study, the strengthening method of curved bridge which was occured negative reactions was investigated through the structural stability analysis.

Recently, it is established to Limit State Design(LSD) method such as Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD, KBDC(LSD)2012 which is a design criteria of reliability-based according to the international standards. But it requires sufficient reviews of the bridge assessment method applied to this LSD method because current assessment methods are ASD and USD. In this study, in order to be compared with a previous diagnosis data and utilize to assessment methods studies based on the LSD, we have proposed the introduction of the way to improve the existing evaluation procedures.

Recently, design and construction of street tunnels tend to focus on cost reduction and preservation of nature. Accordingly, research is actively being carried out to quickly detect fires when they occur in tunnels. In this study, a fire monitoring system that can accurately detect the location of fires in real time using shape memory alloy and optical cables was developed.

This study suggested an improvement of expansion joint and asphalt pavement construction to prevent pavement and bridges damage due to alkali silica reaction. First, for the case study of alkali silica reaction, we conducted a field survey of expressway 15 Mokpo - Muan. As a result, those following damages were investigated such as abutment tensile cracks, pavement crazing and rising, joint contractions and localized damage etc. To prevent this, we applied those following improvements to Muan2 bridge and Samjeong bridge of expressway 15 and confirmed improvement effectiveness by monitoring. 1) Installing an expansion joint on a bridge near pavement slabs(3 points), 2) constructing asphalt pavement after removing concrete pavement(6m). In conclusion, through such improvements suggested above, we expect that we will be able to effectively prevent bridges damage due to Alkali Silica Reaction. Consequentially, it will also contribute improving the safety of vehicles in the expressway.

For the corner joint strengthening of the underground box structures, the strengthening method using pressure members was developed. By the applied pressure on the reinforcing members and the increase of nominal strength due to reinforcing member, the size of the reinforcing members are reduced and the performance of corner joint strengthening is improved.

In this study, compressive capacity of Form-Block-Wall (FBW) was studied through prism test. Main variables are the difference in strength of grout concrete and steel fiber-reinforced block. The result showed that the strength of FBW increased corresponding to the increase of the strength of grout concrete and mortar. Also, it showed that steel fiber-reinforced FBW had a positive effect on prism strength and deformation capacity.

In this study, it analyzed a monitoring data, based on the initial limit values of monitoring in subway, of concrete lining stress, reinforcement stress obtained from the Seoul metropolitan subway No 6,7 lines about 5 years.

This study evaluated the fracture strength of GFRP-strengthened RC beams caused by the debonding failure of the GFRP. The fracture strength of RC beams calculated using FRP debonding strains suggested by several main design guidelines were higher than those of experiments. The result might indicate the need of some reduction in the values of the debonding strain or the strength reduction factor.

This paper describes the creep results of experimental testing of GFRP / Aluminum composite beam strengthened RC beams under the two different sustained loads. Specimens have been designed and fabricated to reflect the most common RC beams used in school buildings.

The purpose of this study is to establish a mathematical equation to evaluate the compressive strength of concrete from the measured impact resonance test values(Ed). The correlation was made between the measured and evaluated compressive strength values and the correlation was quite strong.

This study was conducted for investigating effect of retardation time of secondary placement on shear bonding strength. Evaluation experiment on the shear bonding performance of UHPC(180MPa level concrete) was conducted according to retardation time and size of specimen. As a result, the smaller the size of specimen, the weaker the measured bonding performance of specimen. Also, comparing specimen which is o minute occurrence time of cold joint with specimen which is after 15 minutes, it showd 70% lesser shear bonding strength.

Recently, Introduced the study of fire resistance design. This paper has been written about the cross-sectional temperature distribution in the square CFT columns are painted in Intumescent paint. Study on the thermal properties Intumescent paint is not yet clear. Thus, the finite element analysis was performed by reference to the properties of other materials. FEM results Were compared with the experimental results. It offer a range of thermal properties considering the thermal mechanism of the fire-resistant paint as a result.

The setting of concrete is a critical period to show phase change from fluid to solid state. The transition of phase makes it difficult to experimentally investigate the evolution of material properties such as elastic modulus and strength. Ultrasonic wave reflection technique is applied to probe the delicate samples, cement paste during the transition period, and the evolution of mechanical impedance is monitored. The growth of green strength of the samples are related to the mechanical impedance increase.

Recently, a safety of the building has been issued. In this study, a statistical analysis of the licensing status of the building construction has been performed to check the trend of building construction. Finally, results of the statistical analysis would be helpful to improve of the building safety.
