As a fundamental analysis, this study measured and examined the mechanical property and chemical attack resistance of ceramic binder repair material at a development step through continued research. The study showed the compressive strength and bond strength of the repair material meet the standard; however, bending strength of it failed to meet the required standard. Meanwhile, chemical attack resistance displayed the excellent result.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate strength and ductility capacity of strengthening using synthetic fiber rope as lateral reinforcement member of the concrete column and confirm possibility using it as alternative material of rebar. As a result, lateral binding effect of concrete column through synthetic fiber rope was shown to be insufficient.

This study presents the fatigue life analysis of a graphene-reinforced steel pipe. For the analysis, ANSYS was used, and the analysis results were compared with a normal steel pipe. From the analysis, it is shown that the graphene-reinforced steel pipe gives the fatigue life of 101,300 cycles, which is 11 times more than that of the normal steel pipe.

In this study, in order to comprehend performance of corrosion inhibitor, the experiment study was conducted about corrosion characteristic 3 steps(0.0, 0.6, 1.2) of Chloride by added amount of inorganic(Ca(NO2)2) and organic(DMEA) corrosion inhibitor by the corrosion inhibitor types about 0.6kg/m3, 2.4kg/m3 based on Chloride ion content 1.2kg/m3 for service life prediction of concrete structure by using Poteniostat. As a results, the excellent anti-corrosive performance of organic corrosion inhibitor was seen that absorption types organic corrosion inhibitor has excellent anti-corrosive performance compared to the inorganic nitrous acid corrosion inhibitor by the added amount of corrosion inhibitor

In this study, an analytical model of a knee-brace employing disc springs and friction pads is developed. A ring-spring model proposed by Hill is adopted for the knee-brace analysis model. The cyclic response obtained from the analysis model is compared with corresponding experimental results. The comparison indicates that the suggested analytical model is capable of capturing the hysteretic behavior of a knee-brace employing ring-springs and friction pads

In this study, the optimal performance based seismic retrofit method for fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) jackets in existing reinforced concrete (RC) frames is presented. This optimal method minimizes the amount of FRP material while satisfying the constraints on the maximum inter-story drift, maximum strain of concrete, and shear failure prevention of columns. Both of shear reinforcement for preventing shear failure of columns and flexural reinforcement for improving the flexural capacity of columns are simultaneously considered. This method is applied to 3-story RC frame and the reinforced locations and the numbers of FRP reinforcement plies are obtained.

Pile-abutment connection in integral abutment bridge is vulnerable to cyclic thermal load and seismic load. However, research about reinforcement detail for this connection has merely been conducted throughout the world, and no codes stipulate specifications for this connection. Therefore, this study intended to investigate crack patterns due to bridge movement. Previous integral abutment bridge research utilized 2D finite element analysis. However, this study analyzed transverse responses of integral abutment bridge using 3D finite element analysis.

To evaluate the crews’ evacuation characteristics, anti-disaster drills are performed according to 3 different types of scenarios. The drill participants are 2 groups, namely the one is freshmen who is novice for onboard life, and the other is 3rd grade college men who experienced at least 6 months onboard life. As a result of trials, it is clear that the evacuation time of skilled crews(3rd grade colleges men) correspond 2 times faster than that of novices(1st grade colleges men). But on scenario 2 and 3, which are performed under the constriction of uncertainties, the evacuation times are closer than usuals.

This study estimated extreme wind speed by means of national wind map, provided by Korea Institute of Energy Research, to sustain the wind towers’ structural stability that is required for the production of mass wind power. The number of research object regions is three in the East, West and South seas. Meteorological resource data were calculated by dividing the data into the various reference periods. In addition, Gumbel distribution method and Extreme Wind Speed Model (EWM) indicated in IEC 61400-3 were adopted to measure the extreme wind speed. In conclusion, it is discovered that the more suitable Gumbel distribution method is to secure the stability of wind towers.

This paper treats the results of studies for safety of temporary bridge using a commercial FEM program, RM which is operated based on data measured on a sites. A study on the limit state design method for retaining wall structures are reviewed based on the National Retaining wall Design Standard. In this paper several retaining walls are calculated according to LRFD design criteria analysis using the program and the factor of safety for sliding and overturning. Comparing with their results, the Taylor's series simple reliability analysis was performed. In the futures more study should needed including reinforced retaining walls, earth anchor structures. Geotechnical data also are evaluated beforehand.

It is reported that alkalinity of concrete decreases inter-laminar shear strength of FRP rebar. This could be more significant on thermally damaged FRP rebar. In this study, the electrical resistivity of high performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites (HPFRCC) with four different types of steel fiber were investigated namely as twisted fiber, hooked fiber, smooth fiber (0.2 mm) and smooth fiber (0.3 mm). Experimental results indicate that the electrical resistivity of HPFRCC changes with type and diameter of steel fiber.

This paper addresses the tensile strength of high performance concrete with fly-ash, silica fume. Test variables of this study is replacement ratio of admixture. Test results showed that 7 days tensile strength of specimen SF5 is higher than that of specimen FA25SF5. However, 28 days tensile strength of specimen SF5 and FA25SF5 had similar value.
