        The present study invesrigates the current state of English education/research institutes belonging to four-year universities in Korea. Out of 102 institutes that are currently being operated in 167 universities, 67 institutes responded the survey questionnaire. The survey revealed that the universities established foreign-language education institutes to help students meet the challenge of the internationalization era, many of which establisheà in the 1990s. Most of the institutes, however, were small in their size and focusing on short-term profit-making programs, neglecting research on foreign language education. The paper suggests that the institutes should strive to develop good program, improve its research efforts, and networking among similar institutes in different universities.

        Since the introduction of product liability law from America in 1960s, product liability has been on the rise as an important problem to the quality management of company and consumer's safety. Together with this, before the legislation of product liability system in Korea, the sense and level of company and consumer about product safety are rapidly changing, In times like the present, ensuring more systematic product safety and consumer safety, and the buildup need of competitive power in accordance with product liability prevention of company grows raising. Therefore, this study presents the most effectively manageable ways of product liability the side of safety management of consumers and companies through the ensuring ways and activity models of product safety and certification system in company.

        Manual dexterity is often evaluated in rehabilitation because of its contribution to upper limb performance and to individual functional independence. Dexterity depends on age, sex, anthropometric measurements of the hand and sensitivity. The purpose of this study was to compare the finger dexterity with and without wearing different types of gloves (latex gloves and cotton gloves), and to investigate the correlation among the different measurement tools (VALPAR component work samples, O‘conner finger dexterity, and Minnesota grooved pegboard) for finger dexterity. Fifteen healthy young subjects (male: 6, female: 9) had a mean age of 26 years were evaluated. The results were as follows: There was no significant difference in finger dexterity between male and female group at all conditions except for wearing cotton glove condition. The finger dexterity was significant difference in Minnesota grooved pegboard test among conditions(bare hand, latex gloves and cotton gloves). However, finger dexterities were no significant differenece in other tests at different conditions. There was high correlation between measurement tool except for the Size discrimination item in VALPAR test. The results of this study suggest that Minnesota grooved pegboard test maybe a sensitive tool to measure the finger dexterity at sensory constrained conditions.

        해충의 생물적 방제 인자로서 주목받고 있는 곤충병원선충(Steinernema carpocapsae)과 이들의 공생세균(Xenorhabdus nematophilus)이 유용곤충인 누에(Bombyx mori)와 그물등개미(Pristomyrmex pungens)에 상이한 독성을 보였다. S. carpocapsae는 누에에 대해 매우 높은 살충력(반수치사농도: 4IJs (감염태 유충수)/ml)을 보이는 반면, 그물등개미에 대해서는 매우 약했다. (반수치사농도: >150,000 IJs/ml). 반면에 X. nematophilus는 그물등개미에 대해 높은 경구독성(반수치사농도: 1.4103cfu (콜로니 형성수)/ml)을 보였으나, 누에에 대해서는 낮았다. (반수치사농도: > cfu/ml). 또한 실험동물 랫드(Rattus norvegicus)에 S. carpocapsae와 X. nematophilus를 강제로 경구투여 한 결과 시험 전기간(21일)동안 치사개체는 없었으며, 내부 장기에서 처리한 공생세균과 선충은 발견되지 않았다.

        We propose, a new process capability index Cpsk(WV) applying the weighted variance control charting method for non-normally distributed. The main idea of the weighted variance method(WVM) is to divide a skewed or asymmetric distribution into two normal distributions from its mean to create two new distributions which have the same mean but different standard deviations. In this paper we propose an example, a distributions generated from the Johnson family of distributions, to demonstrate how the weighted variance-based process capability indices perform in comparison with another two non-normal methods, namely the Clements and the Wright methods. This example shows that the weighted valiance-based indices are more consistent than the other two methods in terms of sensitivity to departure to the process mean/median from the target value for non-normal processes. Second method show using the percentage nonconforming by the Pearson, Johnson and Burr systems. This example shows a little difference between the Pearson system and Burr system, but Johnson system underestimated than the two systems for process capability.

        Polyimide-silica 하이브리드막을 제조하고 silica 함량이 막의 구조적 특성과 기체의 투과특성에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 하이브리드막은 N,N`-dimethyl acetamide(DMAc) 용매 속에서 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylicdianhydride(PMDA)와 4,4`-diaminodiphenyl oxide(ODA) 및 tetraethyoxysilane(TEOS)를 출발물질로 하여 졸-겔 공정으로 제조하였다. 제조한 막은 FT-IR, EDX, TGA 및 SEM에 의하여 구조적 특성을 분석하고, 25℃에서 N2, O2, H2, CO2 및 CH4 기체에 대한 투과특성을 조사하였다. 하이브리드막은 높은 열적 안정성을 나타내었으며, polymide matrix에 silica입자가 균일하게 분포되어 있었고 silica 함량이 증가할수록 silica 입자의 크기가 증가하였다. 기체의 투과도계수는 silica 함량이 증가할수록 증가하였으나, 확산계수는 silica 함량에 무관하게 거의 일정하였다. 따라서 하이브리드막에 의한 투과도계수의 증가는 용해도계수가 증가하기 때문으로 생각되었다. 이들 기체에 대한 투과도계사구 증가함에도 불구하고, H2/N2, H2/O2와 H2/CO2의 선택도가 증가하였다.

        The purpose of this study is to develop Korean shoe-last based on the conformability of shoe. For this work, the important dimensions for the conformability of shoe were investigated and the systematic methods for evaluating the comfortable shoe were developed. Different two types of shoe-last for men and women were used in the experiment, respectively. 8000 feet dimensions of Korean adults were analyzed for developing standard shoe-last in this study. A total of 10 subjects (ranged from 21 to 25 years old) participated voluntarily. They evaluated each shoes made by developed shoe-last. A rating scale and description was used to express the degree of conformability. Also, 26 feet dimensions were measured using martin-typed gauge and footprint. The relationship between foot dimension and conformability of shoe was analyzed. As a result, Korean standard shoe-last was suggested based on the based on the conformability of shoe. The evaluating methods will be expected to help designer find more important design parameters. We will also expect that the standard shoe-last guarantee the optimal gait and minimal workload, especially in aspect of conformability.
