Cost-benefit analysis was investigated to propose the analysis method of the effect of investment and the optimum investment level of safety management cost for preventing gas accident in the B governor station. From five classifications of safety management costs consisting of cost items with similar characters and potential accident costs calculated by risk assessments(FMEA/HAZOP), we found that the order of the benefit(the reduction cost of the potential accident cost) was the instrument increase and repair cost > the safety checking and inspection cost > the labor and training cost > the safety equipment and corresponding cost > the research and development cost. As the benefit was increased with increasing the investment cost, the effect of investment was increased with decreasing the Investment cost. As a result, the optimum safety management cost was estimated and the investment level was analyzed by the model of optimum investment level.

We have endured a lot of social and economic loss due to the industrial calamities. A study for the government policies to reduce the loss in the field of industrial safety and health leaves much to be desired. The practical one on the government policies industrial safety and health policies, however, hasn't been accomplished as much expected. The purpose of this study is to suggest a research framework fir the execution process analysis, which is needed to find out the desirable or undesirable elements of industrial safety and health policies. The focus of the analysis lays on a policy problem of the industrial safety and health criteria. And based on this paper, it will proceed to the practical research for the industrial safety and health policies.

Since the introduction of product liability law from America in 1960s, product liability has been on the rise as an important problem to the quality management of company and consumer's safety. Together with this, before the legislation of product liability system in Korea, the sense and level of company and consumer about product safety are rapidly changing, In times like the present, ensuring more systematic product safety and consumer safety, and the buildup need of competitive power in accordance with product liability prevention of company grows raising. In the real environment, it is very limited for the trainees to participate the effective training using actual training equipments by themselves and also to simulate several hazard situations for safety because of the direct exposure to the hazards of the actual system. But the virtual environment(VE) can help the trainees to get the effective training participating by themselves and to simulate all kind of possible situation without the exposure to the hazards of the actual system. In this paper, the new developed VE system for safety training is introduced. The system is more effective and economic one than the other system developed in Japan.

In order to Investigate water tree degradation behavior on XLPE cable, direct voltage of 200 to 800V has been applied to the material at 50℃~100℃, and the water tree property has been correlated with voltage and temperature. The leakage current was increase as temperature increased and the Ohm's law was generally satisfied in this experiment though some experimental errors were found. The leakage current was decreased and reached to the stable state with time. It was also shown that the time for the stabilization of leakage current was lessened as voltage increased

The individual rotten water purification tank recently discharges wastewater and sewage through the outlet without purification ability. The outlet water and affiliated water purification tank with microorganism cultivator tank cultivates microorganism and then drops the value BOD, COD of sewage and discharges the quality of water into the outlet. The blower and water pump operating continuously prompts the waste of energy and deterioration of equipment. Each room of deposition tank, foaming tank, microorganism cultivator tank is equipment with the sludge detection senses so it can detect the density of each room. The power-drive plant of the blower and water pump which are the system cultivating the microorganism must be made as fuzzy controlization (If the sludge amount of each room become higher, the rate of operation of blower and water pump must heighten, on the contrary, in case of row sludge amount, the total handling amount and microorganism handling amount of each room of control. Tank reducing the rate of operation must be DB. At present, the blower amount in proportion to the sludge and oxyzen demanding amount has to control. Each room mus be checked outlet level of the outlet, also each room must flow backward discharge materials, and must operate feed-back control until we want to be come as a below value of BOD/COD(10PPM ; KS).

Field data have been recorded as the time to failure or the number of failure of systems. We consider the time to failure and covariate variables in some pre-specified follow-up or warranty period. This paper aims to investigate study on the reliability estimation when some additional field data can be collected within-warranty period or after-warranty period. A various likelihood-based methods are outlined and examined for exponential or Weibull distribution.

This paper summarized the results of previous and recent studies on cumulative trauma disorders (CTD) and provides a prevention strategy for CTD and showed the results from a quite extensive survey with tables and figures. This is a follow-up study of Kwon (1993) 〔2〕. From the previous studies, Kwon (1993) showed that many people are exposed on CTD, but they did not only know the clear reasons why they got CTD, but also how to prevent or change their workstation〔2〕. Lee (1996) showed the result from both field survey and medical examination. He found that most frequent symptoms are CTS (nerve disorders) and tendon disorders 〔6〕. From these previous results, it is obvious that CTD patients will increase in Korean industries if we did not pay attention to this CTD problem. Therefore a proper education of Ergonomics, CTD prevention for workers and moderate changes in workplace are necessary. From 1998 and 1999 follow-up studies, there are still many people(23％) did not hear about CTD, CTS, or MSD. Only 42％ of respondents is exercising during or after work for short-time. Therefore, there are many rooms for prevention strategy of CTD and education for preventing CTD.

This paper is to develop replacement models under minimal repair with exponential polynomial wavelet failure rate function. Wavelets have good time-frequency localization, fast algorithms and parsimonious representation. Also this study is presented along with numerical examples using sensitivity analysis for exponential polynomial trigonometric failure rate function.

In Factory, as the number of machine is increased the more maintenance efforts are necessary. Multi maintenance issues may occur at a certain time and the determination of maintenance sequence is needed. In this study, we first compare the priority of machines and the impact value using modified FMEA(Failure Mode Effect and Analysis) method. Also, CBR(Case-based Reasoning) approach is applied to retrieve similar fault cases of current machine problem. The proposed methodology will be useful to implement decision support system of maintenance sequence for CMMS/EAM (Computerized Maintenance Management System/Enterprise Asset Management).

This study is to examine the effect of layoff on shareholders' wealth. Firms make layoff decisions by reason of cost cutting, lower performance, demand decline, restructuring. Therefore, I think that stock market responds to layoff positively, since the firm's labor productivity and profitability is improved after execution of layoff, I find that layoff variables effect on abnormal return positively in regression analysis. This means that layoff sends positive signal to the stock market for the firm's future performance. Therefore, layoff has a good effect on shareholders' wealth.

The capital cost of the company is one that must be paid to the money owner as the price by using the money. The capital cost according to the source of money supply can be estimated by the expected profit rate undertaken by the use of the capital. But in the area of pre-existent economic evaluation, the evaluation of the company investment has been treated by the profit rate of the capital after considering the repayment conditions of the other's money or the interest. Thus in this study, in case the company makes an investment on various kinds of the capital at the same time, not make use of the capital as a one source, the economic evaluation of an investment should be handled by taking the weighted average cost of capital into consideration in proportion to the constitution of the capital cost by the sources of money supply, Especially, as the cost of the private money is very much connected with the profit rate through the stock market, the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) will be applied. This kind of economic evaluation method can be said to have much to do with the Economic Value Added : EVA) as well as to be highly thought as a standard to estimate the company' value recently To certify the usefulness of this approach, the case study of the output of the capital cost will be made for the purse of the economic evaluation of the alternative investment by using the financial statements of a motor company H.

This paper deals with a network model for the efficient transportation of post and consists of the formulation based on the network model and the LINGO programming model including the operations of the post transportation. This network model is represented by using Time Space Network. The generalized formulation is built up with the input variables and the decision variables, which are defined on the basis of the network model. And LINGO programming model to be proposed with DB and LINGO is constructed in consideration of how to manage the post transportation and the intermodal transport. The results of the model implementation were represented on Time Space Network and they are analyzed and verified. The LINGO programming model is used as the module to be set in application software. Specifically with using GEOmania, GIS tool, the LINGO Model is applied to develop the application for Mail Transportation Decision Support System.
