This study deals with the application of knowledge engineering and a methodology for the assessment and measurement of reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of industrial systems using fault-tree representation. A fuzzy methodology for fault-tree evaluation seems to be an alternative solution to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional approach (insufficient information concerning the relative frequence of hazard events). To improve the quality of results, the membership functions must be approximated based on heuristic considerations. The purpose of this study is to describe the knowledge engineering approach, directed to integrate the various sources of knowledge involved in a FTA.
Today, technologies and automation have been accelerated up in the industrial workplace. Nevertheless, many systems still require humans to handle materials manually. The Low Back Pain (LBP) is one of modern human being's most common and complex ailments. Many risk factors with the onset of LBP have been identified, however, lifting out of Manual Material Handling(MMH) was the most important factor to the LBP. The Virtual Reality(VR) is used in a variety of ways and often in a confusion and misleading manner. In order to solve the prevention of the LBP, a lifting box was translated in the Virtual Environment(VE). As simulating under the VE, optimal lifting works could be constructed. The purpose of this study is to reduce the chronical low back pain for the manual material handlers.
In the real environment, it is not easy to get the effective training or to simulate several hazard situations for safety because of the direct exposure to the hazards of the actual system. But the virtual environment(VE) can help the users to get the effective training or to simulate all kind of possible situations without the exposure to the harzards of the actual system. Therefore, the number of virtual reality(VR) application for safety will be increased dramatically in the future. This paper proposes a category of VR applications and also the steps to develope the VE for emergency management.
In this paper, under JIT kanban system designed by Moeeni, each performance measures (service level, inventory level) identify the robust optimal level at a uncertain environment, and when there are multiple performance characteristics, it propose the optimal design-method and the optimal level decision-method, which consider multiple performance characteristics.
The main objective of this paper is to propose a measure of evaluation for non-normal process capability. If a process is not normally distributed, but normal-based techniques are used, serious errors can result. Our approach to solve this problem is that the Pearson system, the Johnson system, and the Burr system are selected for estimating a measure of process capability using the percentage nonconforming. In this paper, we found that the Pearson system and the Johnson system were a conparatively reasonable methods to calculate out of specification by example.
Beginning from July. 2000, the product liability of Korea is designed for reduction of customer loss by defective products. Therefore, most of company are supposed to be ready for taking care of safety and quality of products. ISO9001：2000 quality management system reform to emphasize continual improvement of the process with customer satisfaction. First of all, this paper start with introduction motive of the product liability and examine distinctive mark of the ISO9001：2000 quality management system. We consider the correlation between ISO9001：2000 quality management system and product liability and would like to propose product liability prevention by ISO9001：2000 quality management system with classification a defect style of product, the management guide and the law case.
This paper presents accelerated life tests for Type I censoring data under probabilistic stresses. Probabilistic stress, Sj, is the random variable for stress influenced by test environments, test equipments, sampling devices and use conditions. The hazard rate, ,thetaj, is the random variable of environments and the function of probabilistic stress. Also it is assumed that the general stress distribution is uniform, the life distribution for the given hazard rate, θ, is exponential and inverse power law model holds. In this paper, we obtained maximum likelihood estimators of model parameters and the mean life in use stress condition.
This paper deals with the selection of a proper dispatching rule for an one-process Job scheduling that follows a particular distribution of an order production. That is, it makes a distribution on an order per unit period and applies to simulation model that uses it. This study consists of two purposes either seeks adequately production scheduling using priority rule or seeks extension of the facilities that increase current production efficiency through computer simulation in scheduling.
Electrochemical charateristics of activated carbon fiber cloth(ACFC) electrode were studied with propylene carbonate(PC), γ-butyrolactone(GBL) and N,N-dimethyl-formamide(DMF) as a solvent and tetraethylammoniumtetrafluoroborate(TEABF4), tetraethylammoniumhexafluorophosphate(TEABF6), tetrabutylammoniumtetrafluoroborate(TBABF4) and tetrabutylammonium hexafluorophosphate(TBAPF6) as an electrolytes(active material). The concentrations of electrolytes were in the range of 0.2~1.2 N, the volume ratios of PC and DMF as a mixed solvent system, were 90：10, 80：20, 70：30, 60：40, 50：50, and 40：60 vol%. Electrochemical characteristics such as electric conductivity, internal resistance, and electric capacitance of fabricated unit cells were measured after the moisture of activated material was removed with molecular sieve. Electrochemical characteristics were better in mixed solvents system than in mono solvent system. The mono solvent system of 1.0 N electrolyte of GBL/TEABF4 with activated carbon cloth electrodes showed better result but the mixed solvent system with PC and DMF/TEABF4(50：50 vol%) and the concentration of 1.0 N electrolyte showed the best characteristics. Internal resistance was 3.47 Ω and specific capacitance was 19.1 F/g respectively.y.
Compared to last decade, body size of children has been changed because of many factors such as caloric intake, hereditary evolution, individual exercise, and so on. Naturally, children will grow up and they will become teenagers, college students as time goes by. Also, all children will enter into appropriate educational institutes according to age. The objective of this study is to compare and analyze the data of body size of children for safe educational environment. The data are measured by some parts on body such as stature, height, weight, circumferences, length, width, and depth. The samples for this study are randomly chosen from kindergartens in. Seoul and Kangnung during three months (2000. 3 ∼ 2000. 5).
Recently micro deep hole drilling is required in the whole industry. However, micro deep hole drilling has still much difficulty because of the lack of drill rigidity and the interruption of chip. We treated a micro deep hole(diameter 0.35mm, depth 3mm) used in a connector jack pin. Therefore, a surface roughness is very important. In this paper, we studied on the variation of the surface roughness for cutting conditions during micro deep hole drilling of Be-Cu material. Most of all, we tried to drill on CNC for the realization of automatization.
Inchon Port is the second largest import-export port of Korea, and has the point at issue such as the excessive logistics cost because of the limits of handling capacity and the chronic demurrage. The purpose of this paper is to develop the simulation program as a long-term strategic support tool, considering the dual dock system and the TOC(Terminal Operation Company) system executed since March, 1997 in Inchon Port. The basic input parameters such as arrival intervals, cargo tons, service rates are analyzed and the probability density functions for these parameters are estimated. From the simulation model, it is possible to estimate the demurrage status through analyzing various scenarios and to establish the long-term port strategic plan.
To develope a domestic machinery industry, international competition through reducing cost by increasing productivity is as important as evolving technology and increasing quality. In this study, we have studied in application of GT technology. GT is a skill that acquires high productivity using part's resemblance for multi part and small size production like mass production. We have classified group, such as design, layout and the others, to be applied systematically. The design group includes retrieval for drawings and study for GT design. The layout group includes GT layout, analysis of production process and study for composition method. And others include scheduling, standardization and standard process.
Many enterprises are performing the effective database applications with VAN(Value Added Network) or WAN(Web Added Network) . But it is very difficult and expensive. So we suggest low-cost database system within long distance area through personal computers. This system is very powerful for flexibility. It may be estimated it's value highly because they develop the program without high programming skill. This study would be used between company with company and/or between branch with branch, for example, customer claim information, inventory information, product order etc. It is important not importing document but importing data in document. Then end-user can accomplish analysis and decision-making with their own database. It would enhance productivity in many enterprises.
A study to analyze and solve problems of plastic injection molding experiment has presented in this paper. We have taken Taguchi's parameter design approach, specifically orthogonal array, and determined the optimal levels of the selected variables through analysis of the experimental results using S/N ratio.
In recent dates, Internet advertising effects are expanded by the steep increment of the Internet users and the extension of the advertising market will be accelerated through Internet. This paper indicates the importance of Internet advertising and suggests the solution of a network advertising service. The system is divided into an Advertise Server, an Advertiser and a Web Publisher. This study proposes both the collection and the analysis of traffic data in real time. Also, the banner advertising frames are smoothed for the impression using the solution for the banner exchange engine and are developed using various impression methods, that is, Fixed/variable Banner, Scheduling Banner, Multi-Impression Banner, and Frame Remote Control to increase the advertising effect. And then to increase the advertising effect web publisher, which is specialized in lottery site, is constructed using the network advertising service and various advertising technology.
The charge and discharge current in EPR(Ethylene Propylene Rubber), which were irradiated with the radiant capacity of 0~600 ［kgy/h］, have been measured in order to investigate the influence of the atmosphere (oxygen, air and vacuum) on electrical properties. It has been shown that the charge and discharge current increase as the amount of radiant capacity increases in air and vacuum atmosphere. This electrical property degradation can be speculated due to that the C＝O radicals or impurities, which comes from during shaping process, may act as dipoles. On the other hand, the charge and discharge current are shown to be higher in the amount of 1［kgy/h］ than these in 10［kgy/h］ in air atmosphere, because the charge and discharge current can be increased as the exposure time is extended with slower rate. Under the same amount of irradiation, the charge and discharge current in oxygen atmosphere are shown to be higher than those in vacuum. This is possibly due to that the main chain can be broken by oxidation when it is exposed to the γ -rays.
