        We report on the fabrication and characterization of an oxide photoanode with a zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorod array embedded in cuprous oxide (Cu2O) thin film, namely a ZnO/Cu2O oxide p-n heterostructure photoanode, for enhanced efficiency of visible light driven photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. A vertically oriented n-type ZnO nanorod array is first prepared on an indium-tin-oxide-coated glass substrate via a seed-mediated hydrothermal synthesis method and then a p-type Cu2O thin film is directly electrodeposited onto the vertically oriented ZnO nanorod array to form an oxide p-n heterostructure. The introduction of Cu2O layer produces a noticeable enhancement in the visible light absorption. From the observed PEC current density versus voltage (J-V) behavior under visible light illumination, the photoconversion efficiency of this ZnO/Cu2O p-n heterostructure photoanode is found to reach 0.39 %, which is seven times that of a pristine ZnO nanorod photoanode. In particular, a significant PEC performance is observed even at an applied bias of 0 V vs Hg/Hg2Cl2, which makes the device self-powered. The observed improvement in the PEC performance is attributed to some synergistic effect of the pn bilayer heterostructure on the formation of a built-in potential including the light absorption and separation processes of photoinduced charge carriers, which provides a new avenue for preparing efficient photoanodes for PEC water splitting.

        In this paper, the shape adjustment algorithm of the spoked wheel cable structures with retractable membrane system is studied. The initial tension of the membrane or cable is necessary to form the structure and its value is determined by the design shape. However, due to internal and external environmental influences, its shape may be different from the initial designed shape. In the case of the cable structures covered in this study, tension adjustment is necessary to maintain the designed shape because it influences the tension of the cable depending on the state of the retractable membrane. Therefore, we proposed an adjustment algorithm of an initial shape based on the force method. The effectiveness and validity of the methodology were examined through the applicable cable structures. The results of the shape adjustment analysis of the symmetric spoked wheel cable model were reliable and accurate results were obtained.

        There has been considerable recent interest in deep learning techniques for structural analysis and design. However, despite newer algorithms and more precise methods have been developed in the field of computer science, the recent effective deep learning techniques have not been applied to the damage detection topics. In this study, we have explored the structural damage detection method of truss structures using the state-of-the-art deep learning techniques. The deep neural networks are used to train knowledge of the patterns in the response of the undamaged and the damaged structures. A 31-bar planar truss are considered to show the capabilities of the deep learning techniques for identifying the single or multiple-structural damage. The frequency responses and the elasticity moduli of individual elements are used as input and output datasets, respectively. In all considered cases, the neural network can assess damage conditions with very good accuracy.

        In order to increase the seismic safety of nuclear power plant (NPP) structures, a technique to reduce the seismic load transmitted to the NPP structure by using a seismic isolation device such as a lead-rubber bearing has recently been actively researched. In seismic design of NPP structures, three directional (two horizontal and one vertical directions) artificial synthetic earthquakes (G0 group) corresponding to the standard design spectrum are generally used. In this study, seismic analysis was performed by using three directional artificial synthetic earthquakes (M0 group) corresponding to the maximum-minimum spectrum reflecting uncertainty of incident direction of earthquake load. The design basis earthquake (DBE) and the beyond design basis earthquakes (BDBEs are equal to 150%, 167%, and 200% DBE) of G0 and M0 earthquake groups were respectively generated for 30 sets and used for the seismic analysis. The purpose of this study is to compare seismic responses and seismic fragility curves of seismically isolated NPP structures subjected to DBE and BDBE. From the seismic fragility curves, the probability of failure of the seismic isolation system when the peak ground acceleration (PGA) is 0.5 g is about 5% for the M0 earthquake group and about 3% for the G0 earthquake group.

        In the precedent study, the retractable-roof spatial structure was selected as the analytical model and a tuned mass damper (TMD) was installed to control the dynamic response for the earthquake loads. Also, it is analyzed that the installation location of TMD in the analytical model and the optimal number of installations. A single TMD mass installed in the analytical model was set up 1% of the mass of the whole structure, and the optimum installation location was derived according to the number of change. As a result, it was verified that most effective to install eight TMDs regardless of opening or closing. Thus, in this study, eight TMDs were installed in the retractable-roof spatial structure and the optimum mass ratio was inquired while reducing a single TMD. In addition, the optimum mass distribution ratio was identified by redistributing the TMD masses differently depending on the installation position, using the mass ratio of vibration control being the most effective for seismic load. From the analysis results, as it is possible to confirm the optimum mass distribution ratio according to the optimum mass ratio and installation location of the TMD in the the retractable-roof spatial structure, it can be used as a reference in the TMD design for large space structure.

        The purpose of this study is to reconstruct the “aspect of vocabulary”, which is used in current grammar education, considering the overlaps between vocabulary categories. For this purpose, the existing discussion on the aspect of vocabulary and the way of implementing the curriculum and the textbooks were examined. As a result, it is confirmed that the vocabulary aspect education has not fully taken into consideration of “overlapping among the vocabulary categories”. In this study, we set up a category of vocabulary with multiple features and categorized these features using “+” and “-” depending on the case. In this way, aspect of vocabulary is restructured more coherently. More discussion on the future studies and education should be continued.

        Recently, quantitative analyses of food web structure based on carbon and nitrogen stable isotopes are widely applied to environmental assessments as well as ecological researches of various ecosystems, particularly rivers and streams. In the present study, we analyzed carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios of POM (both planktonic and attached forms), zooplankton, benthic macroinvertebrates and fish collected from 6 sites located at Nakdong River. Samples were collected from upstream areas of 5 weirs (Sangju, Gangjeong- Goryeong, Dalseong, Hapcheon-Changnyeong, and Changnyeong-Haman Weirs) and one downstream area of Hapcheon-Changnyeong Weir in dry season (June) and after rainy season (September). We suggested ranges of their carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios and calculated their trophic levels in the food web to compare their temporal and spatial variations. Trophic levels of organisms were relatively higher in Sangju Weir located at upper part of Nakdong River, and decreased thereafter. However, the trophic levels were recovered at the Changnyeong-Haman Weir, the lowest weir in the river. The trophic level calculated by nitrogen stable isotope ratios showed more reliable ranges when they were calculated based on zooplankton than POM used as baseline. The suggested quantitative ecological information of the majority of biological communities in Nakdong River would be helpful to understand the response of river food web to environmental disturbances and can be applied to various further researches regarding the quantitative approaches for the understanding food web structure and function of river ecosystems as well as restoration.

        Yangjindang house, which is located in Sang-ju province of South Korea, is one of the special Hanok structures dated back to Joseon dynasty. This study aims to examine structural safety of the Yangjindang wood frame building considering dynamic parameters such as the natural frequency and damping ratio. The numerical model of the wood frame building is implemented using Midas Gen, especially the wood joint where column and beam were connected. The behavior of the actual frame building was compared with the modeling results. In addition, structure responses such as shear force, axial force, flexural moment and deflections were calculated and compared with the allowable limits. Numerical results show that, generally, despite of some local members shear failure, Yangjindang’s structural response does not exceed the limitation according to current standards.

        1. 세계 참깨 교역구조를 살펴보면, 전체 교역량이 증가하고 있는 상황에서, 수출국 중 에티오피아, 나이지리아, 부르키나파소, 탄자니아 등 아프리카 국가의 비중이 높아진 반면 중국, 미얀마 등의 비중은 큰 폭으로 하락하였다. 수입국 중 중국이 40% 이상의 수입시장 점유율을 차지하면서 주요 수출국에서 수입국으로 전락하였다. 2. 이러한 가운데 우리나라의 경우 국내 생산량이 감소하여 자급률이 하락하면서 최근 전체 소비량의 80% 이상을 수입에 의존하고 있으며, 여전히 중국으로부터의 수입 의존도가 매우 높다. 3. 장기적으로 세계 참깨 교역구조가 재편되면서 한국의 참깨 수입선도 다변화되고, 세계 수요 증가로 수입가격 상승의 영향을 받을 것으로 예상된다. 또한 수입 증가로 인해 TRQ 제도의 실효성, 국내 참깨산업의 위기 등의 문제가 동시에 제기될 수 있다.

        공력감쇠는 와류에 의한 풍직각방향의 응답을 평가하는데 매우 유용한 인자로 인식되어 왔다. 그러나 기존의 공력감쇠 산정 방식은 구조물 응답에 기반한 시스템 식별기술을 적용하는 것으로 와류하중속에 포함되어 있는 공력감쇠의 역할과 특성을 파악하는 데 한계를 가지고 있었다. 본 연구에서는 하중식별기술을 적용하여 와류하중을 직접적으로 구함으로써 와류하중을 구성하는 요소와 유발요인을 평가하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 대기 경계층에서 원형 실린더 모델에 대한 공탄성 실험을 수행하여 풍직각방향 와류하중 을 추정하였으며 그로부터 공력감쇠의 특성을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 와류하중은 구조물 모달속도가 공력감쇠에 의해 풍하중으로 전 환되는 모달속도하중과 변동풍속에 의해 형성되는 순수 와류하중으로 구성되는 것으로 나타났다. 공력감쇠는 최상층 평균풍속에 의한 와류방출진동수가 구조물의 고유진동수에 근접하면서 부감쇠를 가지며 그 결과 총 감쇠가 작아져 응답증폭현상을 유발하는 것으로 파악되었다. 본 연구결과에 기초하면, 난류상태에서 와류하중 특성이 반영된 와류하중모델 구축이 가능할 것으로 사료되며, 구조물 풍직 각방향 진동을 보다 효과적으로 파악하는데 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        전이금속촉매를 사용한 4,4-비스[(트리플로로아세톡시)메틸]-1,6-헵타디인의 고리화중합을 통하여 고분자 반복단위 내에 고리구조를 갖는 공액구조 고분자인 폴리{4,4-비스[(트리플로로아세톡시)메틸]-1,6-헵타디인}(PBTFMH)을 합성하였다. 일반적으로 몰리브데늄 계 촉매를 사용한 경우의 중합수율이 텅스텐 계 촉매 를 사용한 경우의 그것보다는 높게 나타났다. 합성한 고분자는 중합과정중의 가교화반응으로 대부분 유기 용매에 용해하지 않았다. 고분자의 IR 스펙트럼에서는 단량체의 그것에서 나타났던 아세틸렌의 C≡C, 및 ≡C-H 신축진동띠를 보여주지 않았다. 이 고분자는 XRD 회절분석 결과 대부분 무정형상임이 밝혀졌다.

        This paper deals with the stability of industrial robot arms with six axes and six degrees of freedom. The robot arm used was IRB120, a product of ABB company, which is used in the real industry, by using the commercial “DAFUL” which is a simulation program that can analyze the dynamic behavior. DAFUL was applied to the robot arm to control the motion by applying the load to the robot arm and then the structural analysis of the robot arm was performed during the analysis time. As a result of the analysis of the robot arm, the stress and displacement acting on the elliptic model and the acting torque and force were analyzed. Based on the analysis results, stability was checked with reference to IRB120 product catalog.

        Hot forging is widely used to manufacture many industrial parts such as machine, automotive and so on. It is important to simulate the relations or characteristics between preform and die before designing the die. The purpose of this study is to investigate the forging characteristics of parking gear with nonlinear gear groove, thus the behaviors of preform can be predicted in advance and finally they can be applied to die design. As the results, since the distributions of high effective strain rate of parking gear were less than 3%, it was predicted that the manufacturing of parking gear with nonlinear gear groove might be possible. Furthermore it was observed that, in this study, the effective stress of bottom die was lower than that of top die.

        신조 방식의 제조업의 특성상 경기 사이클이 존재하기 때문에, 장기적으로 이를 대처할 동반 산업이 절실하게 필요로 하고 있다. 이러한 요구에 적합한 분야가 수리조선업 분야이다. 수리조선업을 운영하기 위해서는 플로팅도크가 필수적으로 필요로 하며, 대부분 노후화된 플로팅도크를 해외로부터 수입한 후, 개/보수를 통하여 운용하고 있다. 그러나, 사용연한이 최소 30년 이상이고, 운용 시 특정 선급에 입급을 시키지 않기 때문에, 안전성에 대한 정확한 지침은 전무한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 노후화된 플로팅도크의 계측한 두께 정 보를 활용하여, 구조강도 검토를 수행하고, 운용중인 플로팅도크의 잔류 구조강도를 분석하였다. 연구를 통하여 도출된 주요 결과들은 유사 설비의 구조 안전성 검토에 대한 가이드라인을 참조할 수 있으며, 개/보수 시 이러한 방법을 활용하면 빠른 시간 내에 최적 해를 찾을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
