        The purpose of this study was to investigate university students' attitudes and interests for ethnic food. The questionnaire developed was distributed to 60 students majoring in food & nutrition and 260 students taking a liberal course related with food culture in world. A total of 271 questionnaires were usable ; resulting in 84.7% response rate. Among 12 kinds of ethnic food, a large number of students had an experience in Japanese, Chinese, American and Italian food. Also Chinese, American, Japanese and Italian food were familiar with them, but the hope to eat for French, Spanish, Mexican and German food was too strong. Students knew kinds, characteristics, table manners and etc. for Japanese, Chinese, and American food very well and wanted to know the information about French food. as result of positioning for ethnic food by correspondence analysis, Spanish, English, French, Germany and Mexican food had a strong image in want to eat, wanted to know information about food and got a good feeling. Students perceived Vietnamese, Thai and Indian food as having an experience, Japanese, American and Italian food as well-know about food or restaurants, and Chinese food as being familiar. The findings would indicate trends for ethnic foods and their cultures in Korea and forecast the possibility of change in foodservice market.

        The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea, 14(1). The objective of this study was to investigate university students's pronunciation, their knowledge of standard pronunciation, attitudes toward standard pronunciation through a questionnaire on the relation between actual pronunciation and attitudes toward standard pronunciation. Analysis of the questionnaire shows several notable results. University students make nonstandard pronunciation such as ㅅ→ㅆ, ㅈ→ㅉ in initial positions and in consonant clusters of a declinable word stem ㄺ→ㄹ, ㄼ→ㄹ. University students also show a good knowledge of orthoepy. They tend to think that people should follow orthoepy as much as possible but at the same time, people can make use of nonstandard pronunciation if the pronunciation is easier for speaker. The result on attitudes toward orthoepy showed that if a speaker's own pronunciation corresponds with standard pronunciation, people think they should observe orthoepy. Results regarding the pronunciation of consonant clusters of a declinable word stem ㄺ→ㄹ, ㄼ →ㄹ, suggest that standard pronunciation of a declinable word stem ending in ㄺ, ㄼ should be modified.

        본 연구는 월출산국립공원에서 자기안내식 환경해설 방식으로 활용되고 있는 각종 해설매체에 대한 탐방객 인식을 파악하여 효율적인 공원관리 기초자료 제공을 목적으로 수행하였다. 이를 위해 탐방객 직접기입 방식의 설문조사를 실시하였고 총 196매의 설문지가 유효표본으로 이용되었다. 조사결과 '공원 이용자원 안내판'이 가장 이용률이 높은 환경해설 매체로 나타났으며 탐방로변 수목해설판, 탐방로변 문화자원 해설판, 자기안내식 자연관찰로도 비교 적 높은 이용률을 보였다. 그러나 공원안내지도, 정보게시판, 공원정보제공 LED사인, 간이탐방안내소내 전시물 등은 이용의 효율성이 떨어지는 매체로 평가되었다. 공원내 환경해설 매체에 대한중요도-성취도 분석에서는 전체적으로 높은 중요도와 이에 대한 긍정적인 성취 수준의 응답경향이 나타났다.

        This study reexamined whether the philosophical conceptualization of punishment had the three attributes of retribution, deterrence, and rehabilitation by having compared the Boston sample to the Seoul's. The scales used were Likert, Thurstone, and Guilford methods which were constructed by 9x9 multitrate-multimethod matrix. Campbell and Fiske(1959) as well as Bagozzi's Structural Equation model(1993) were applied. The result showed that the convergent and discriminant validity were proved when the confirmatory factor analysis was processed in the data analysis.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate several aspects of eating out behaviors among older persons. In aging society, need of seniors are getting higher than before, they want to have a good quality of life. Specially it is changed in family structure and life style. The food habits of older person will be getting change. Hence this study tried to show the various thought of eating out behaviors, interested factors to select restaurants and menus, tendency to do eating out, inconveniences to use of eating out so on. The questionnaires were completed by 150 older persons living over 60 years old in Busan. They were mostly health and active. The most study were focused young generation however the old generation was not interest in eating out behaviors. Therefor this study gave a lot of approach to develop food habits for old person. The result were as followed: The attitude of eating out were positive, once or two times in a week was highest response 138(92%). As frequently selected food were vegetable and Korean food restaurants. Moreover older person expect a meaningful food culture among older person. As a bad grade of eating out were not to be kind to seniors, never concern to characteristic older. They wanted to have a food for their health and to share with their spare time. The study of eating out style will be very important issue of silver industry. To develop menus and to make older person culture is very needed in aging society.

        This research examines how various dimensions of physical environments influence patrons' psychological responses(especially emotional responses) in the restaurant service setting, and how these emotional responses, in turn, influence patrons' attitude formation. The result of empirical research indicates that restaurant physical environments have a significant effect patrons' emotional responses, and that these psychological experiences serve as critical mediators in the restaurant physical environments-store attitudes relationship. However, the effects of restaurant physical environments on patrons' psychological responses varied with the dimensions of physical environments. First, the effect of cleanliness on emotional responses was most significant, especially on negative emotion, out of 4 dimension of restaurant physical environment. Second, ambient conditions are the most important predictor on customers' positive emotion, and in turn, positive emotion has the most significant effects on customers' attitude formation of restaurant. Therefore, the result suggests that restaurants should manage(or, improve) their ambient conditions(e.g. background music, scents, ventilation, noise etc.) for efficiently maximizing customers' positive attitude. The implications of this study are discussed, and ideas for future work suggested.

        본 연구는 월악산국립공원 탐방객들의 국립공원 이용 및 관리 관련 속성에 대한 탐방객 태도를 파악함으로써 효율적인 공원관리 방안 수립에 필요한 탐방객 관련 정보의 제공을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 응답자 직접 기입 방식의 설문조사가 월악산국립공원의 주 이용거점에서 공원방문을 마치고 귀가하는 221명의 탐방객들을 대상으로 실시되었다. 연구결과, 국립공원 관리 방향에 대 해 탐방객들은 보전지향적인 태도를 나타냈다. 국립공원의 다양한 환경 요소로부터 추출한 이용 및 관리 관련 18개 속성들의 심각성에 대한 태도를 측정 한 결과 '보통'에서 '심각하지 않은 수준'의 범위로 비교적 긍정적으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 월악산국립공원에서의 종합적인 휴양만족 수준도 대체적으로 만족하는 수준으로 평가되었다.

        This study identified how family restaurant customers' attitude toward yield management strategies, which include reservation, time, menu, and service factors. Generally, yield management explains how price and dining duration maximize the revenue of family restaurants. There are three ways to improve family restaurant yield; improving table turns, upgrading seat occupancy, increasing price per customer. The 45 items of yield management strategies are developed by literature reviews, web sites analysis, and interviews with family restaurant employers. Factor analysis and reliability analysis from present study found out 11 important factors, which represent the study's dependent variables. Regression analysis may be helpful to test whether demographic and socio-economic factors have relationships with family restaurant customers' attitude toward yield management strategies. As a regression result, gender, family size, age in demographic factors and education and occupation in socio-economic factors have relationships with family restaurant customers' attitude toward yield management strategies significantly.

        이 연구의 목적은 ARCS(Attention, Relevance, Confidence, Satisfaction) 전략을 적용한 STS(Science, Technology and Society) 수업이 초등학교 5학년 학생들의 학습 동기와 과학적 태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 53명의 초등학교 5학년 학생들을 표집하여 실험반과 통제반으로 구분하였다. 그리고 4주 동안 실험반에는 ARCS 전략을 적용한 STS 수업을 처치하였고, 통제반에는 전통적인 수업을 실시하였다. 연구 결과는 ARCS 전략을 적용한 STS수업이 전통적인 수업보다 초등학교 5학년 학생들의 학습 동기와 과학적 태도 향상에 효과적이었음을 보여주었다.

        The main purpose of this study is to investigate effects of writing instruction using comic strips on Korean students' English writing skills and learning attitudes. Using both narrative and descriptive writing tasks, the experiment was conducted for eight weeks with 120 secondyear middle school students. The experimental group had writing activities with comic strips, whereas the control group studied writing using the textbook or free writing. The results showed that the experimental group improved English writing skills more, and had more positive attitudes toward learning English, than the control group. Lower-level students in the experimental group showed a marked improvement in narrative writing, while upper-level students demonstrated a positive change in their attitudes. Through surveys, interviews, observation, and analysis of students' writing, it was revealed that the experimental group reacted differently depending on the contents and type of comic strips, and activity types. Comic strips that dealt with everyday life and were drawn humorously induced more interest, while those demanding cultural understanding diminished the students' motivation. Student participation increased when drawing their own strips and sorting cuts of comic strips into order.
