        Reaction-bonded silicon carbide (RBSC) is a SiC-based composite ceramic fabricated by the infiltration of molten silicon into a skeleton of SiC particles and carbon, in order to manufacture a ceramic body with full density. RBSC has been widely used and studied for many years in the SiC field, because of its relatively low processing temperature for fabrication, easy use in forming components with a near-net shape, and high density, compared with other sintering methods for SiC. A radiant tube is one of the most commonly employed ceramics components when using RBSC materials in industrial fields. In this study, the mechanical strengths of commercial RBSC tubes with different sizes are evaluated using 3-point flexural and C-ring tests. The size scaling law is applied to the obtained mechanical strength values for specimens with different sizes. The discrepancy between the flexural and C-ring strengths is also discussed.

        SiC-based composite materials with light weight, high durability, and high-temperature stability have been actively studied for use in aerospace and defense applications. Moreover, environmental barrier coating (EBC) technologies using oxide-based ceramic materials have been studied to prevent chemical deterioration at a high temperature of 1300℃ or higher. In this study, an ytterbium silicate material, which has recently been actively studied as an environmental barrier coating because of its high-temperature chemical stability, is fabricated on a sintered SiC substrate. Yb2O3 and SiO2 are used as the raw starting materials to form ytterbium disilicate (Yb2Si2O7). Suspension plasma spraying is applied as the coating method. The effect of the mixing method on the particle size and distribution, which affect the coating formation behavior, is investigated using a scanning electron microscope (SEM), an energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. It is found that the originally designed compounds are not effectively formed because of the refinement and vaporization of the raw material particles, i.e., SiO2, and the formation of a porous coating structure. By changing the coating parameters such as the deposition distance, it is found that a denser coating structure can be formed at a closer deposition distance.

        목 적 : 유방 MRI검사에서 회전 자장(B1)의 불균일성은 코일의 중심에 검사부위가 없고 우측과 좌측으로 나뉘어진 유방의 해부학적 구조의 영향을 많이 받는다. 또한 환자의 유방과 유방사이, 유방과 코일사이의 air-gap이 증가할수록 B1의 불균 일성도 증가하여 영상의 화질을 저하시킨다. 그러나 최근 유방암 환자의 증가에 따라 비대칭유방 환자 및 편측유방 등 small breast 환자들이 증가하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 자체 제작한 phantom과 다양한 B1 calibration scan parameter를 이용하여 small breast에서 B1 calibration scan parameter의 변화에 대한 평가와 영상화질에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 검사 대상으로는 Invivo사의 breast phantom과 자체 제작 phantom을 이용하였다. 장비 사에서 권고하는 B1 calibration parameter가 최적의 조건을 나타내는지 평가하기 위한 대상으로 breast coil을 가득 채우는 Invivo사의 breast phantom을 사용하였고, 자체 제작 phantom을 이용하여 small breast일 때 최적의 B1 calibration parameter를 확인하였다. 연구에 사용된 장비는 Philips INGENIA 3.0T(Philips medical system, Netherlands)이고, 신호수집 코일은 16channel Breast coil을 사용하였다. 연구방법은 B1 calibration scan parameter 중 slice thickness(두께)를 5, 8, 12, 15, 20 mm로 Flip angle(FA)을 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 degree로 변화시켜가며 B1 map과 e-THRIVE 영상을 획득하였다. 정량적 평가로 획 득한 영상의 우측(Rt)과 좌측(Lt)에 각각 5개의 ROI를 그려 신호 대 잡음비(signal to noise ratio; SNR)를 비교 분석하였고 one-way ANOVA(SPSS 18.0K for windows)로 통계 검정하였다. 정성적 평가방법으로는 B1 map profile을 통해 B1의 균일성을 비교하였다. 결 과 : Invivo phantom으로 획득한 B1 map과 e-THRIVE 영상의 SNR은 B1 calibration scan parameter의 두께와 FA의 변화에 따라 차이가 있었다(P<0.001). 두께별 변화에서는 8 mm, FA별 변화에서는 60°일 때 가장 높게 나타났다. 자체 제작 phantom에서도 B1 map과 e-THRIVE 영상의 SNR은 B1 calibration scan parameter의 두께와 FA의 변화에 따라 차이가 있었다(P<0.001). 두 영상 모두 두께가 12mm 일 때 가장 높게 나타났으며, FA은 80°일 때 가장 높게 나타났다. B1 profile을 통해 확인한 자체 제작 phantom의 B1 균일도는 두께가 12 mm, FA이 80°일 때 가장 균등한 그래프를 나타냈다. 결 론 : 자체 제작 phantom의 B1 map 분석을 통해 장비사에서 권고된 parameter 변화의 필요성을 제고하고, 최적의 B1 calibration scan parameter를 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 small breast 환자의 경우에는 B1 calibration scan parameter의 변 경이 필요하며, 이를 통해 SNR과 B1 균일성이 향상된 진단적 가치가 높은 유방 MRI영상을 얻을 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

        As a basic study for the removal of oxygen in solid Nd metal by metal Ca vapour, by using the thermodynamic data such as ΔG-T diagrams and Nd-O and Nd-Ca equilibrium diagrams, the amount of residual oxygen in solid Nd metal formed based on deoxidation reaction by Ca vapour, instead of by direct contact of solid Nd metal and Ca solution, was determined. Deoxidation experiments were carried out for solid Nd metal in a temperature range of 890~970 ℃ for 1h to 4h and content of addition Ca of 0.6~1.8 g (5~15 wt% of solid Nd metal). As a result, it was found that as deoxidation temperature increased, dissolved oxygen decreased. Especially, it was observed that a small amount of Nd-Ca alloy liquid was formed on the surface of the solid Nd metal sample deoxidized at 970 ℃ for approximately 1 hour. Also, it was found that if the content of addition Ca was 1.8 g (15 wt% of solid Nd metal) the amount of produced Nd-Ca alloy increased slightly. However, for the Nd sample with which the deoxidation reaction was performed at 930 ℃ for 4h with content of addition of Ca of 1.5 g (13 wt% of Nd metal), the residual oxygen was found to decreased to 12.00 ppm.

        목 적 : 유방 MRI 검사는 비대칭 조직 및 비 종괴 조영증강 평가와 동시성 양측성 유방암 발견을 주 목적으로 양측 유방 영상을 동시에 얻는다. 편측 유방 전 절제의 경우에도 추적검사와 전이 여부 등의 확인을 위해 양측 유방을 동시에 검사하는 것이 일반적이다. 하지만 편측 유방 전 절제 수술을 받은 환자는 양측 유방이 모두 있는 환자와 달리 해부학적 차이로 발생하는 자장의 불균일에 의해 영상의 signal intensity(SI)가 감소된다. 이에 본 연구는 자체 제작한 phantom과 다양한 filling factor들을 이용하여 감소된 SI의 보상 유무와 그 정도를 비교 분석하고 편측 유방 전 절제 수술을 받은 환자들의 유방 MRI 검사에서 filling factor들의 유용성을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : Phantom study는 본 연구를 위하여 자체 제작한 phantom으로 유방의 해부학적 차이에 따른 SI의 변화를 확인하였고, Breast coil의 한쪽에는 phantom과 반대쪽에는 paraffin, sponge, rice, flour, gel, saline을 각각 넣고 검사하여 filling factor들에 의한 SI의 보상 정도를 비교 분석하였다. Patients study는 편측 유방 전 절제 수술을 받고 2015년 12월부터 2016년 2월까지 본원에서 유방 MRI 검사를 시행한 환자 30명(평균 연령 49.7세)을 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 장비는 Philips INGENIA 3.0T( Philips medical system, Netherlands)이고, 신호수집 코일은 16channel Breast coil을 사용하였다. Scan parameter는 반복시간(TR): 9400ms, 에코시간(TE): 100ms, NSA : 1, 절편두께(thickness): 2mm, scan time: 2분 49초 , 영상기법: mDIXON T2 AX을 사용하였다. Phantom study의 평가방법은 filling factor에 따른 phantom영상의 SI 변화를 알아보고 정량적 방법으로 SNR을 비교하였고, patients study는 filling factor 사용 전°후 영상의 SI 변화를 비교하였다. 통계적 분석 방법은 Wilcoxon signed rank test(SPSS 18.0K for windows)를 이용하였으며, p값이 0.05보다 작은 경우 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 판단하였다. 결 과 : Phantom 영상의 SI는 breast coil의 양측을 채웠을 때와 편측을 채웠을 때 각각 평균 1361, 1122로 편측일 경우가 양측일 때보다 17.6 % 감소하였다. Filling factor들에 의한 SI의 보상 정도는 양측을 모두 채웠을 때를 100으로 했을 때, paraffin 94.4%, sponge 94.2%, rice 87.3%, flour 86.5%, saline 65.5%, gel 48.3%로 분석되었고, filling factor들에 의한 SNR결과는 양측을 모두 채웠을 때(124) >> paraffin(97) > sponge(90) > rice(76) > flour(72) > 편측만 채웠을 때(69) >> saline(54) > gel(51) 의 순서로 측정되었다. Patients 영상의 평가 결과, 14명의 환자에게서 SI가 최대 11%, 평균 5%증가하였다. 통계적 분석은 모든 경우에서 p<0.05로 통계적으로 유의하였다. 결 론 : Phantom을 이용한 실험 결과를 통해 breast coil의 양측에 phantom이 채워졌을 때보다 편측만 채워졌을 때 SI가 감소하는 것을 확인하였다. 이를 보상하기 위해 다양한 filling factor를 가지고 실험한 결과 paraffin, sponge, rice, flour들은 편측만 phantom이 있는 경우보다 SI가 보상되는 효과를 보였지만 saline과 gel은 오히려 감소되었다. Patients 영상 획득 시 호흡에 의한 motion artifact가 SI 감소의 원인으로 작용했지만 최대 11%까지 SI가 증가하였다. 결론적으로 우리 주변에서 쉽게 구할 수 있는 paraffin, sponge, rice, flour를 이용하여 어떤 scan parameter의 조작 없이 filling factor의 사용만으로도 편측 유방 전 절제 환자의 감소된 SI를 보상할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 편측 유방 전 절제 환자의 유방 MRI 검사에서 filling factor를 적절히 활용한다면 진단학적 가치가 보다 높은 영상을 구현할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다

        Background: A forward head posture (FHP) is one of the most common types of poor head posture in patients with neck disorder. A prolonged FHP might increase pressure on the posterior cranio-cervical structure and exhibit reduced performance on a cranio-cervical flexion test (CCFT). CCFT is included to activate deep cervical flexor muscles and inhibit excessive activation of superficial cervical flexor muscles. Therefore, the selective activation of deep cervical flexors is needed for effective exercise for FHP. Objects: The purpose of this study was to compare muscle thickness between longus colli (Lco) and sternocleidomastoid (SCM) using ultrasonography in subjects with FHP depending on head support. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, case-control research design study. The ultrasonographic images of Lco and SCM were taken in 17 subjects with FHP during the 5 phases of the CCFT with and without a head support. Towel was used for supporting head to make the neutral head position in supine. Changes in muscle thickness during the test were calculated to infer muscle activation. Data were analyzed using repeated measures of two-way analysis of variance with the significance level of .05. Results: When subjects performed the CCFT with head support, there was a significant difference in muscle thickness of Lco and SCM (p<.05). According to a post hoc paired t-test, change of thickness of Lco was greater at all phases, and change of thickness of SCM muscle was less at phase 4 and 5 in condition with head support (p<.01) compared to condition without head support (p<.01). Conclusion: The result of this study suggest that applying head support for neutral head position during CCFT could be a useful method for activating Lco muscle without excessive activation of SCM muscle.

        Rare-earth zirconates, such as lanthanum zirconates and gadolinium zirconates, have been intensively investigated due to their excellent properties of low thermal conductivity as well as chemical stability at high temperature, which can make these materials ones of the most promising candidates for next-generation thermal barrier coating applications. In this study, three compositions, lanthanum/gadolinium zirconates with reduced rare-earth contents from stoichiometric RE2Zr2O7 compositions, are fabricated via solid state reaction as well as sintering at 1600oC for 4 hrs. The phase formation, microstructure, and thermo-physical properties of three oxide ceramics are examined. In particular, each oxide ceramics exhibits composite structures between pyrochlore and fluorite phases. The potential of lanthanum/ gadolinium zirconate ceramics for TBC applications is also discussed.

        Lanthanum zirconate, La2Zr2O7, is one of the most promising candidates for next-generation thermal barrier coating (TBC) applications in high efficient gas turbines due to its low thermal conductivity and chemical stability at high temperature. In this study, bulk specimens and thermal barrier coatings are fabricated via a variety of sintering processes as well as suspension plasma spray in lanthanum zirconates with reduced rare-earth contents. The phase formation, microstructure, and thermo-physical properties of these oxide ceramics and coatings are examined. In particular, lanthanum zirconates with reduced rare-earth contents in a La2Zr2O7-4YSZ composite system exhibit a single phase of fluorite or pyrochlore after fabricated by suspension plasma spray or spark plasma sintering. The potential of lanthanum zirconate ceramics for TBC applications is also discussed.

        본 연구는 2009년 USC 게임개발연구소(Game Innovation Lab)와의 협업을 통하여 플레이스테이션 2 게임패드와 함께 3D 1인칭 게임으로 선보인 빌 비올라의 <밤의 여행>을 인간의 존재론적 깨달음을 향한 수행 텍스트로 상론한다. 이를 위하여 작가가 기존 매체와의 지속적인 변증법적 관계에서 자신의 예술적 내러티브를 가상공간으로 연장하여 구축한 실시간 ‘탐사 가능한 비디오 아트’를 원형적 공간과 지각적 시간, 반성적 수행으로 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 비올라의 <밤의 여행>을 주체에게 로고스의 빛으로부터 해방된 무의식의 어둠 가운데 자기 자신의 지각을 수행하는 작품으로 조명하였다.

        he quantitative analytical method for Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) in Korea Food Standard was reviewed in caseof measurement for some market yoghurts. Contents of LAB in fermented yoghurt in Korea food market were investigated.BCP plate count agar, PCA with BCP, and MRS were tested for the measurement of LAB. The measured count for LAB inthe product were determined as following order; BCP plate count agar > MRS agar > PCA with BCP. The measured LABrange in the product using BCP plate count agar was between 116×107 and 180×107 CFU/mL, that using MRS agar wasbetween 18.6×107 and 23.2×107 CFU/mL, and that using PCA with BCP was 3×105 and 22×105 CFU/mL. As the results,use of proper medium for the accurate LAB measurement including coccus as well as bacillus would be recommended.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the dynamic balance and activity of internal oblique muscle, multifidus muscle, gluteus maximus muscle, biceps femoris muscle during the Y balance test following the wearing of pelvic compression belt. Forty healthy adults were recruited for this test. The dynamic balance score was estimated as the following: (anterior+posteromdial+posterolateral)/(3×leg length)×100. The electromyography signals were measured through %reference voluntary contraction, which was normalized by reference voluntary contraction of Y balance test without wearing the pelvic compression belt. The paired t-test was carried out to compare the dynamic balance score and the activity of the trunk and hip extensor with and without the wearing of pelvic compression belt. The dynamic balance score of the Y balance test when wearing pelvic compression belt was significantly than when measured without wearing the pelvic compression belt (p<.05). The muscle activity of the internal oblique and the multifidus was significantly decreased when wearing pelvic compression belt (p<.05). The muscle activity of the gluteus maximus was significantly increased when wearing pelvic compression belt (p<.05). However, there was no significant difference in hamstring muscle activity, with or without wearing the belt (p>.05). In conclusion, this study shows that the wearing of pelvic compression belt affects trunk muscle and hip extensor muscle activity related to the pelvic mobility and stability and increases dynamic balance and also contributes to the stabilization of the external pelvic stabilization.

        The purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between the ankle dorsiflexion passive range of motion (DF PROM) under a non-weight bearing condition and the normalized reach distance in three directions of the Y-Balance Test (YBT). Sixty-one healthy adults (32 males and 29 females, age: 23.0±3.0 years, height: 169.3±8.9 ㎝, weight: 61.9±5.4 ㎏) participated in this study. The ankle DF PROM was measured using a goniometer. To assess dynamic balance, all subjects performed three trials to determine the maximum lower extremity reach in the anterior, posteromedial, and posterolateral directions of the YBT. The relationship between the ankle DF PROM and both the normalized reach distance in each direction and the composite score of the YBT were analyzed using the Pearson correlation. Only the normalized reach distance in the anterior direction of the YBT was significantly related to the ankle DF PROM measured under a non-weight bearing condition (r=.50, p<.001). Neither the normalized reach distances in the posterior directions nor the composite score of the YBT were significantly correlated with the ankle DF PROM measured under a non-weight bearing condition. These findings suggest that ankle DF PROM does not affect the overall dynamic balance of the lower extremity, with only the anterior dynamic balance affected among the three directions.

        A microencapsulated cinnamon oil (CO)-coated film was developed using a pilot-plant scale film coating system. CO microencapsulated with polyvinyl alcohol was incorporated with a printing ink and the ink mixture was applied to the surface of a polypropylene (PP) film as an ink coating using a gravure printing press at a speed of 20-200 m/min. The tensile strength, percentage elongation at break, elastic modulus, and water vapor permeability of the PP films with and without coating with the microcapsules were not significantly different (p > 0.05), which indicates that the coating did not alter those properties of the films. Microencapsulation effectively prevented the volatilization of CO in the films. The microencapsulated system may be extended to other food-packaging films for which the same ink-printing platform is used. The results from this study imply that the oil-microencapsulated films could be potentially produced by a modern film manufacturing system.

        RBSC (reaction-bonded silicon carbide) represents a family of composite ceramics processed by infiltrating with molten silicon into a skeleton of SiC particles and carbon in order to fabricate a fully dense body of silicon carbide. RBSC has been commercially used and widely studied for many years, because of its advantages, such as relatively low temperature for fabrication and easier to form components with near-net-shape and high relative density, compared with other sintering methods. In this study, RBSC was fabricated with different size of SiC in the raw material. Microstructure, thermal and mechanical properties were characterized with the reaction-sintered samples in order to examine the effect of SiC size on the thermal and mechanical properties of RBSC ceramics. Especially, phase volume fraction of each component phase, such as Si, SiC, and C, was evaluated by using an image analyzer. The relationship between microstructures and physical properties was also discussed.

        In this study, we investigated the effect of geographical variations on Sargassum thunbergii morphology to make a taxonomic reconsideration about infraspecific taxa in this species. In order to examine the morphological characteristics of S. thunbergii, total 27 matured and morphologically intact thalli were collected from the east, west and south coast in spring 2011. Interestingly, it was observed that the species populations on the west coast were characterized by short, thin and coarse thallus, and soft texture. However, the populations on the east coast showed thicker thallus, larger leaf and vesicle, and tougher texture. Thallus height of S. thunbergii was found to be similar at both east and west coast. Further, the height of the thallus and lateral branch of the species populations residing south coast were highest whereas the size of leaf and vesicle are shortest, in comparison with east and west coast species. Although morphological characteristics of the north east coast populations corresponded to the original description of S. thunbergii f. latifolium, we could not find exact morphological features and diagnostic characters to distinguish form in S. thunbergii. These results indicated that it is not the optimal characteristics to identify infraspecific form in this species. In contrast, morphological variations may signify the adaptation of this species to local environmental factors. Thus, we recommend that intraspecific morphological variation of S. thunbergii should be carefully used to identify infraspecific taxa.

        그 동안 정부는 기업부설 연구소의 인적 설립요건을 낮춤으로써 연구원수를 확대하고 중소기업에 대한 연구개발투자 확대를 통하여 중소기업의 연구개발활동과 투자를 유인해 온 바, 본 연구에서는 과연 그동안 정부의 정책이 중소기업의 연구개발활동에 어떤 효과가 있었는지를 대기업과의 비교를 통하여 실증적으로 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해 특정 산업이나 정부 R&D 프로그램에 국한하지 않고, 18,272개에 달하는 기업 패널 데이터를 이용하여 정부 연구개발 직접투자의 효과를 분석했다.분석결과, 그 동안의 정부 연구개발 직접투자로 중소기업은 연구원수가, 대기업은 매출액과 자체연구개발비가 증가되는 효과가 나타났으며, 통계적으로 유의하지는 않았지만 정부의 연구개발 직접지원이 오히려 중소기업의 자체연구개발비를 감소시키는 효과를 야기한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 중소기업과 대기업 모두 자체연구개발비를 증가시키는 가장 큰 요인은 기업의 매출액으로 나타났으며, 매출액을 증가시키는 요인은 정부 연구개발 직접투자 보다는 기업의 자체연구개발비로 나타났다.

        The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of hip external rotation angle on pelvis and lower limb muscle activity during prone hip extension. Sixteen healthy men were recruited for this study. Each subject performed an abdominal drawing-in maneuver (ADIM) in a prone position, and extended the dominant hip at three different hip external rotation angles (0°, 20°, 40°) with a 30° hip joint abduction. Activity of the gluteus maximus (G Max), gluteus medius (G Med), and hamstring (HAM) and the G Max/HAM and G Med/HAM ratios were determined with surface electromyography (EMG). The EMG signal was normalized to 100% maximum voluntary isometric contractions (MVICs) and expressed as %MVIC. Data were analyzed by one-way repeated analysis of variance (alpha level=.05) and the Bonferroni post hoc test. Significant differences in G Max and G Med muscle activity were noted among the three different hip external rotation angles. G Max muscle activity increased significantly at both 40° (p=.006) and 20° (p=.010) compared to a 0° hip external rotation angle. G Med muscle activity increased significantly at 20° (p=.013) compared to a 40° hip external rotation angle. The G Max/HAM activity ratio increased significantly at both 40° (p=.004) and 20° (p=.014) compared to a 0° hip external rotation angle. The G Med/HAM activity ratio increased significantly at 20° (p=.013) compared to a 40° hip external rotation angle. In conclusion, 40° and 20° hip external rotation angles are recommended to increase G Max activity, and 20° hip external rotation is advocated to enhance G Med muscle activity during prone hip extension with ADIM and 30° hip abduction in healthy subjects.

        4 mol% Yttria-stabilized zirconia (4YSZ) coatings with 200 μm thick are fabricated by Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition (EB-PVD) for thermal barrier coating (TBC). 150 μm of NiCrAlY based bond coat is prepared by conventional APS (Air Plasma Spray) method on the NiCrCoAl alloy substrate before deposition of top coating. 4 mol% YSZ top coating shows typical tetragonal phase and columnar structure due to vapor phase deposition process. The adhesion strength of coating is measured about 40 MPa. There is no delamination or cracking of coatings after thermal cyclic fatigue and shock test at 850oC.
