        In this study, Rebar of SD500, SD600 is applied to the designed or constructed in domestic apartment. Analyzed the variation of the rebar according to the strength of the rebar and the construction cost of the change. Reinforced volume reduction of the apartment building is less than the other. Because, A low wall of rebar reduction is more than 50% of the total. The reason for the previous, Reduction of the quantity of horizontal reinforcement does not appear and Vertical rebar reinforcement than the stress is determined by the placement of rebar in which the upper floor.

        In this study, Rebar of SD500, SD600 is applied to the designed or constructed in domestic underground parking. Analyzed the variation of the rebar according to the strength of the rebar and the construction cost of the change. Most of underground parking appear reduction of Rebar ratio. In this case, the load acting on the underground parking garage is large. So, Rebar placing is dominated by element's stress. Therefore, Large amounts material of slabs, beams and foundations are reduced. In case of columns and wall, Ratio of Material reduction is less than former. Because Splice and Anchorage of rebar amounts are increased and Hoop and horizontal rebar amounts are fixed. Percentage of rebar of the column and wall are 15%. So, Showed a less impact on the reduction of total material.

        In this paper, a mass damper was proposed and the plan on its practical application for wind-induced vibration control of a super-tall building was introduced. The damper was developed to generate forces which were calculated by both linear and nonlinear control algorithms. A controller in which the control algorithms were embedded was developed and it was verified through experiments that the damper with the controller could show dynamic behavior as a designer had intended. A preliminary design of a super-tall building with the damper was conducted. As a nonlinear algorithm, decentralized control algorithm which only requires to measure damper-installed floor response in order to calculate the control force was proposed. Simulation results indicated that the proposed damper could provide better or at least equivalent control performance than the usual active/hybrid type damper controlled just by existing linear control algorithms.

        The interest for the stability of the structures against earthquake, which is increasing recently, is rapidly increasing. But, currently, school buildings among the reinforced concrete(RC) structures in Korea are not designed with seismic design or there are many cases of being designed with the old seismic design code, so it is estimated to have not only lives but also a great deal of economic damage are likely to occur when an earthquake occurs. In this study, proposed horizontal friction system(HFS) with rotary friction damper installed as a method to reinforce strength and hardness and to increase ductility for the low story structure of 5 stories or lower such as school buildings. For the seismic retrofitting design with horizontal friction system in which rotary friction damper is installed, Peak displacement response ratio according to elastic and inelastic behavior and ductility demand is calculated to decide elastic stiffness and strength of the HFS, design model and procedure to decide the capacity of HFS thereof is decided, and the feasibility and performance are reviewed through pushover analysis.

        Recently, a market of architecture is requiring buildings of long spanned structures as most buildings become taller and larger. For being long spanned structures, elements of buildings must be light. As an alternative proposal, various hollow-core slabs and flat plate salbs were developed and used frequently in the inside and outside of the country. But the study of the hollow-core slabs using deck plate and assembly of light weight is the first. In the present study, Flexural and vibration tests were performed on the hollow-core slabs using deck plate and assembly of light weight to investigate the flexural behavior and serviceability. Four test specimens were used for test parameters; one hollow-core slab with an assembly of light weight, and three hollow-core slabs with deck plate and an assembly of light weight. The test parameters also included amount of tension bar and existence of shear reinforcement. The test results showed that the hollow-core slabs with deck plate and an assembly of light weight had a crack of shear, so shear reinforcement must be conducted.

        In this study, as a part of the seismic retrofitting for school buildings, proposed of a new type of rotary friction damper, reviewed the performance and developed a experiment formula for the practical application. The rotary friction damper was composed of 4 shear plane using 2 friction pad. Considering a variety of yield moment, it was designed that clamping forces can be applied. The number of bolts were 9, 13 and thε clamping forces were 8 levels that the maximum load is the standard clamping forces. ±20mm displacement of the cyclic loading test were performed. As a result, the records of friction damper were stable. But sliding was ensured if the stress is 10-15% of the relation formula of sliding load in KBC 2009 by the bolts joining. However, when it is designed of that were inserted additional members for implementation of friction, the design of the level of 10% of the formula in KBC 2009 will be possible. And the design equation that is converted into the moment-rotation is proposed for the detailed design.

        Many school buildings are not applied seismic code because of small size structures. But it must be designed to show enough structural performance when subject to earthquake. Especially, most of school buildings are generally used as public shelters when the natural disasters such as flood and earthquake occur. In this study, the seismic risk of the reinforced concrete school building structure was evaluated by using the seismic performance evaluation methods of low-story RC structures developed in Japan and the required seismic performance index. In this paper, the seismic performance of the school building is evaluated by considering this short-column effects, building shape and deterioration.

        In this study, a shear wall-slab damper system for seismic retrofitting of existing low-rise school buildings was proposed. The proposed system is to control the earthquake-induced vibration of the existing building structures using the energy dissipation effect of hysteretic damper inserted between the extended shear wall and existing moment frame. The numerical analyses were performed to investigate the vibration control efficiency of the shear wall-slab damper system and to identify the range of optimal yielding strength of the slab damper. In addition, variation of shear force of the extended shear wall with regard to the yield strength of the dampers in a range from 10 to 100 percent of the maximum base shear force of the retrofitted structure was investigated. The numerical analyses results showed that the maximum displacement of the structures with the slab damper whose yield strength is equal to 20 percent of the maximum base shear. On top of that, the slab damper system reduced the shear force of the shear wall by about 50 percent in comparison with the existing frame-shear wall system with rigid diaphragm slabs.

        A improved strength model was developed to predict the punching shear strength of interior slab-column connections without shear reinforcement. Considering the damage due to flexural cracking at slab-column connections damaged by flexural cracking, the punchingshear force was assumed to be resisted mainly by the compression zone of the critical section. The punching shear strength was defined by using the material failure criteria of concrete. In the evaluation of the punching shear strength, the interaction between the shear stress and the compressive normal stress developed by the flexural moment of the slab was considered. The proposed strength model was verified by existing test specimens.

        Earthquake is one of the hazard so hard to provide because it is difficult predicted occurred time, scale and characters. The earthquake in Kobe, Japan showed that the damages were concentrated on the buildings which were not considered to be protected from the earthquakes. Seismic code applied structures was small damaged but non applied structures was much damaged such as collapse and loss of life. In this study, apartment structures in Korea analyze about earthquake hazard and evaluate seismic performance. Through the this study we have notice of earthquake hazard for apartment structures which live a lot of population of Korea and suppose necessary for seismic retrofit.

        In this study, the seismic performance of RC school buildings which were not designed according to earthquake-resistance design code were evaluated by using response spectrum and push-over analyses. From the results of analysis, the efficiency of the seismic retrofitting methods RC shear wall, steel frame, RC frame and PC wing wall for existing RC school buildings was evaluated and analysised. The analysis result indicate that the inter-story drift concentrated in the first floor and most plastic hinge forms in the column of the first story. And results of analysis of the efficiency of the seismic retrofitting indicate that inter-story drift significantly reduced and ductile behavior is expected.

        In this study, the structural stability of stone pagoda in Korea is evaluated with regard to the contact characteristics between stone blocks and a method for restoring the static stability of the stone pagoda by increasing the friction coefficient between stone blocks are proposed. Existing steel insertions, which are used for a temporary retrofitting method, bring about not only decoloration on the surface due to its corrosion but also stress concentration in stone blocks which may end up fracturing blocks. In order to replace the stiff insertions such as iron with ductile materials, lead or tin, experirnental test is conducted for identifying the friction characteristics of stone blocks without/with various types of insertions and the results indicated that a ductile compound metal insertion brought about the increase of the friction coefficients when compared to the existing iron insertion.

        In this paper, a new waffle-shaped(WAS) precast concrete panel was developed through the geometrical modification of the conventional double tee panel. It is a one-way joisted panel with a shallow depth and a boxed shape by wide edge beams. To investigate the structural performance of the connections between W AS panels, loading tests called by WIW were performed at the connections along short edges of two WAS panels. WIW tests were executed according to two different width of shear key(50mm and 80mm) and three types of reinforced topping concrete(wire-mesh alone, wire-mesh plus HD 10, and wire-mesh plus HD13). As a result, the grouting width of shear keys did not act on the ultimate behaviors significantly, and the flexural strength of WIW connections along the long edges of W AS panels was superior to nominal flexural strength. The connections with proper details of steel reinforcement can distribute the positive bending moment at mid-span of W AS panels to the negative moment, which is useful for efficient member design.

        LCVA has an advantage that its natural frequency can be easily controlled by changing the area ratio of the vertical column and horizontal part. The previous studies investigated the dynamic characteristics of the LCVA under harmonic load. This study experimentally obtained the first and second mode natural frequencies of the LCVA from shaking table tests using white noise and compared the values with the ones by previous study. Test results show that the measured first mode natural frequency of the LCVA is larger than the calculated one when the area ratio is larger than 1. The second mode frequency increases with the increasing area ratio, which is due to the sloshing motion effect resulting from the large area of the vertical column.

        본 연구에서는 진동대 실험을 통해 얻은 동적 데이터를 이용하여 TDL의 동적 비선형 특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 현재까지 TDL의 설계는 액체의 비선형 거동이 나타남에도 불구하고 TMD 근사이론이나 선형파동이론과 같은 선형 거동을 가정으로 설계되어 지는 한계를 가지고 있다. 또한 조화하중과 같은 특정진동수에 지배되는 하중형태에 대한 TDL의 동적 비선형 특성이 규명되었지만 백색잡음과 같은 특정진동수 성분에 지배되지 않은 하중형태에 대한 TDL의 동적 비선형 특성은 아직까지 검증된 바가 없다. 본 논문은 백색잡음을 이용하여 가진 하중 크기에 따른 TDL의 동적 비선형 특성을 검토하여 설계 시 필요한 동조액체감쇠기의 감쇠비, 고유진동수비 및 유효질량비를 평가할 수 있는 산정식을 제안하였다.

        In this study, based on the results from the sinusoidal base excitation analyses of a single degree of freedom system with a tuned mass damper (TMD) , the optimal friction is computed so that the rail friction improve the performance of the TMD. The magnitude of the optimal friction increases with increasing mass ratio of the TMD and decreases with increasing structural damping. Particularly, it is observed that the optimized friction force gives better control performance than the optimized viscous damping of the TMD. However, because the performance of the TMD considerably deteriorates when the friction force increases over the optimal value, it is required to keep the friction force from exceeding the optimal value. Based on the results from this study, it is possible to economically design the TMD by avoiding the unconditional minimization of the rail friction and in some cases by removing the additional damping devices of which function can be performed by the rail friction.

        In order to obtain the flexural and shear performance capacity of newly developed WAffle Slab(WAS) System, 14 full-scale 1.98mx10.00m specimens were tested under monotonic load. The Flexural performance was observed and compared with the conventional double-tee slab system using the test result. The shear performance was observed W AS slab using the test result. lt was confirmed that WAS system has enough flexural and shea capacity to carry the design load. Destruction features of test result, it appeared with bending destruction on the whole. According to steel wire increase, tolerance force's also increased. But steel wire increases to follow, it appears brittle destruction aspect. Case of shear test, the stirrup interval to be narrow maximum load appeares the tendency which comes to be destroyed.
