Odontogenic ghost cell tumor (OGCT) is considered as a neoplastic counterpart of the calcifying odontogenic cyst (COC). β-catenin mutations have been described in COC suggesting a critical role in its histogenesis. In this study, we report a patient with OGCT contains a missense mutation on codon 3 (ACT -> TCT). Immunohistochemistry showed nuclear, cytoplasmic, and membranous accumulation of β-catenin in the tumor cells. TUNEL assay showed positive signals in nucleated cells adjacent to the ghost cells. Our data suggest that β-catenin plays an important role in the tumorigenesis of OGCT. OGCT may developed by improper differentiation process coordinated by WNT signaling pathway. Further studies are needed to determine a genotypic/phenotypic characteristics of ghost cell containing odontogenic lesions.

본 연구는 종모돈의 정액성상 동결-융해 후 정자의 생존성 그리고 혈청 중 FSH, LH, estradiol-17β 및 testosterone 농도에 미치는 품종과 계절의 영향을 조사하여 우수한 종모돈의 선발을 위한 기초자료를 얻고자 실시하였다. 요크셔종이 듀록종보다 봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울에서 정액량이 많았으며, 정액농도에서는 차이가 없었다. 계절별 정액량은 듀록 및 요크셔종에서 봄철이 여름, 가을 및 겨울철에 비하여 많았고, 정자농도는 차이가 없었다. 듀록종과 요크셔종에서 각각 봄철에 생산한 정자가 여름, 가을 및 겨울철에 생산한 정자보다 동결-융해 후 정자운동성 및 정상첨체 비율이 높았다. 한편 듀록종과 요크셔종에서 동결-융해 후 정자운동성은 모든 계절에서 요크셔종이 높게 나타났으나, 정상첨체에서는 차이가 없었다. 혈청 중 FSH의 농도를 비교한 결과 요크셔종이 듀록종보다 모든 계절에서 낮은 농도를 나타내었다. 그러나 두 품종 모두에서 각각 계절 간에 차이가 없었다. 혈청 중 LH와 estradiol-17β의 농도를 비교한 결과 요크셔종과 듀록종 간에 차이가 없었다. 또한 두 품종 모두에서 계절 간에 차이가 없었다. 종모돈의 품종별, 계절별 혈청 중 testosterone의 농도를 비교한 결과 요크셔종이 듀록종보다 모든 계절에서 높게 나타났다. 또한 두품종 모두에서 각각 봄철이 여름, 가을 및 겨울철에 비하여 혈청 중 testosterone의 농도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 종합하여 보면, FSH의 농도가 낮을수록 정액생산량이 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 혈청 중 testosterone의 농도가 높을수록 동결-융해 정자의 운동성 및 정상첨체의 비율이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

We analyzed the high resolution H,6 line spectra of CH Cygni obtained at the Bohyunsan Astronomical Observatory (BOAO) on April 2004. The temporal changes in the Hβ line profiles are reported. We obtained the equivalent widths of the Gaussian components. Using this we estimated the length of the gaseous nebula which emits the Hβ line and the mass loss rate from the star.

This study was carried out to find out the changes on serum concentrations of estradiol-17β, progesterone in primiparous Duroc, Landrace and Yorkshire sows weaned at 7 or 21 days. Also, we compared the litter size at birth and weaning among the breeds weaned after lactation for 7 or 21 days. The estradiol-17β concentrations among the breeds were 6.9∼8.8 pg/ml and 6.4∼8.8 pg/ml after lactation for 7 or 21 days, respectively. The progesterone concentrations ranged from 0.3 ng/ml to 1.6 ng/ml. Duroc sow showed higher progesterone concentration compared with Landrace and Yorkshire sows weaned after lactation for 7 or 21 days. Also, we found out that litter size at birth and weaning, respectively, did not show any differences between day 7 and day 21 of lactation. From the facts mentioned above, it was suggested that very early weaning systems could work with no apparent adverse effect on prolificacy.

본 연구는 돼지 난포란의 체외배양액에 황화합물인 β-mercaptoethanol(β-ME)을 첨가배양함으로서 돼지난포란의 체외성숙과 체외배발달에 미치는 향을 구명하고자 실시하였다. 본 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 돼지난포란을 체외성숙배양액인 NCSU-23 배양액에 β-ME를 각각 0, 25, 50 및 100μM 첨가배양하여 성숙을 유기한 다음, 체외수정을 실시한 결과, 모든 처리구에서 핵성숙률, 정자침투율, 웅성전핵형성률, 다정자침입률 및 평균침입정 수에서 유의적인 차이가 인정되지 않았다 P>0.05). 2. 체외성숙 및 수정을 실시한 후, 배발달 배양액인 NCSU-23에 7일간 배양한 결과, 배반포 형성률은 25μM의 β-ME 처리구가 유의적(P<0.05)으로 높은 결과를 나타냈고, 총세포수에 있어서는 대조구와 처리구간 유의적인 차이가 인정되지 않았다. 3. 배발달배양액인 NCSU-23에 β-ME를 각각 0, 12.5, 25 및 5μM 첨가하고 5 및 20%산소조건 하에서 7일간 배양한 결과, 처리구별 산소농도에 따른 배발달률 및 총세포수에 있어서는 유의 적 인 차이가 없었으나, 25μM β-ME 처리구에서 유의적으로 높은 결과를 나타냈다(P<0.05). 그러나 총세포수에서는 처리구 및 대조구간 유의성이 인정되지 않았다. 결론적으로 돼지난포란의 체외성숙 및 배발달시 황화합물인 β-ME의 첨가는 25μM이 가장 적합하며, 산소농도에 따라서는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 조사되었다.
