        This study was carried out to investigate the dining-out behavior of breakfast and preference on the menu of female college students. 500 questionnaires were distributed and 417 were used for statistical analysis(SAS program). This survey was conducted from June, 2000 to October, 2000. 72.8% of the respondents thought there were problems in eating breakfast. The problems were 'skipping breakfast frequently(33.1%)', 'short eating time(20.9%)', 'simple menu(18.8%)'. Preference of dining-out breakfast menus were 'bread & milk(43.8%)', 'conventional menu(34.7%)', 'snack(15.5%)', soup or 'porridge(6.0%)'. A general preference of breakfast menus were conventional (63.7%), 'bread & milk(21.1%)', 'milk and breakfast cereal(8.7%)', 'soup or porridge(6.5%)'. Increase on the amount of monthly allowance decreased the preference of conventional type of breakfast(P<0.05). The questions about the breakfast were 'what is the best menus for breakfast(49.2%)', 'alternative to rice(17.1%)', 'the amounts of breakfast(12.1%)'. But there was no significant difference among these variables. In conclusion, development of convenient & well-balanced breakfast model and nutritional education are needed to increase the nutritional status of female college students.

        This study was performed to investigate nutritional intake, the dietary behaviors and plasma lipid profile between smokers and non-smokers of college male students in the Gyeonggi Area. Dietary behaviors and attitude toward smoking were investigated by questionnaires. The result obtained were as follows: There was no significant difference in anthropometric measurements between smokers and nonsmokers. There was no significant difference in dietary behaviors. However, smokers tended to eat more snacks and desserts than nonsmokers. In plasma lipid levels, smokers had higher levels of plasma triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol, VLDL-cholesterol and total cholesterol than that of non-smokers(p<0.05). HDL-cholesterol level of smokers was a lower than that of non-smokers although the difference was not significant. AI(Atherogenic Index), Total /HDL cholesterol ratio and LDL/HDL cholesterol ratio of smokers were significantly higher than that of non-smokers(p<0.01). BMI and SBP showed positive correlation with triglyceride(p<0.01) and VLDL-cholesterol(p<0.01). DBP showed positive correlation with triglyceride(p<0.001) and VLDL-cholesterol(p<0.01).

        The purpose of this study was to know the perception on acne for the college students to provide basic data for the suitable care of acne. Self-administrated questionnaires were completed by 641 college students. Dietary attitude, food habit, general perceptions on acne, knowledge level on acne, and relationship perception between special food and acne were analyzed. The results were as follows. 1. Self reported health status, smoking, obesity index were significantly different by experience of acne. 2. Dietary attitude and food habits were not significantly different by experience of acne. 3. Acne experienced subjects had acne on their face mostly and responded positively to specialized treatment. Proportions of getting the knowledge on acne were 40.6% from friends, 35.4% from magazine and 21.7% from TV or radio. 4. Proportions of correctly answered for the questions about pregnancy, hair cosmetics, oily food, male hormone, family history, constipation related with acne were less than 50% for acne experienced subjects. 92.5% of acne experienced subjects were answered eating chocolate, nut, and fat were related with breaking out and aggravating of acne. Perceptions on breaking out factors and aggravating factors of acne were not significantly different by gender. 5. More than 70% acne experienced subjects stated that instant foods, oily foods, meats, cookies, nuts were related with developing and aggravating acne. Soybean, Seaweed, fermented fish were recognized as less related with developing and aggravating acne.

        The Purpose of this study was to investigate the perception and preference of the college student about Korean traditional rice cakes. Self admistered questionnaires were collected from 512 college students in Seoul, Kyungki, Chungchungdo, Kungsangdo, Junlado and Gangwondo area. Data was analysed by t-test, one-way ANOVA and correlation. The recognition of Korean traditional rice cake was generally low except for the items that could be easily seen as either seasonable or festive foods. There was a significant difference in the average score of recognition and preference for each kinds of Korean traditional rice cake according to the major, gender and grade of subjects. Baiksulgi, Injulmi, Yaksik, Bindaeduk, Songpyun and Garaeduk are highly prefered Korean traditional rice cakes when as Gaepiduk, Ssookjulpyun, Kongchalduk and Garaeduk are poorly among college students.

        This study was undertaken to investigate intake and consumption behavior of dairy products in college students in order to identify a better way to increase milk consumption. This survey was carried out through questionnaires. The subjects were 307 college students in ChungJu. A total of 98.3% students thought milk as good for health but only 21.5% of them drank it everyday. Most students reported drinking milk two to three times a week. Male students reported drinking milk for drinking, whereas females students for nutrition. College students preferred flavored milk rather than plain milk. Students preferred the drink-type yogurt among the dairy products. The major reason for drinking fermented milk was taste. After drinking the fermented milk, 39.1% of female students thought that fermented milk could prevent constipation. Most students thought that better taste and quality of milk and milk product would increase their consumption.

        The purpose of this study was to investigate several aspects of eating out behaviors especially in relation to Chinese food. Self-administrated questionnairs were completed by 556 food-related major college students in Kangwon-do area. The results were as follows: 1. The frequencies of eating out were not significantly different by gender, type of residence, and the amount of spending money per month of the subjects. 2. Korean foods had a tendency to be selected as a first choice of eating out with both family and friends. The subjects preferred Korean foods, Western foods, Chinese foods and Japanese foods in order with their family but flour based foods, western foods and chinese foods in order with their friends. Japanese foods were not selected at all when they ate out with friends. 3. The 80.7% of male subjects and the 58% of female subjects liked Chinese foods. High calorie food was the feeling about Chinese foods for the male subjects and greasy food was for the female subjects. Taste was the most considered factor for choosing Chinese foods. 4. The 80% of subjects answered that Chinese food culture affected that of Korea. The 77% of subjects thought Chinese noodles were settled down to Korea. 5. Using MSG to Chinese foods was recognized as health-concerning factor for 67% of male subjects and 72% of female subjects.

        The purposes of this study were to examine understanding, attitudes, and behaviors of college students regarding the nutrition labels of food package and the relations among these factors and demographic background such as educational experience with label, major, home place and parents' status. The study was surveyed 471 undergraduate students enrolled in general education classes at local university. Generally, college students could understand nutrition label. Nutrition related class in college didn't influence Nutrition label understanding, use and purchasing behavior. Students whose mothers with higher than college education level and professional work showed strong dependability on nutrition label. Label use, understanding and purchasing behaviors significantly associated with gender of subjects. All the subjects looked at the amount of sodium most frequently among all the nutrients listed on the food package(88.8%). Of all the food labels, the manufacturing date(25.1%) was considered the most important and the refund and exchange(12.9%) was considered the least important information. This paper suggested that nutrition education program for college students needs to be developed in series from elementary school curriculum and to enhance the use of nutrition labels.

        98가지 감성 형용사를 수집하여 176명의 남녀 대학생을 대상으로 SD법에 의해 선호도를 조사한 결과, 개인차가 큰 감성어휘에는 '매니쉬, 수공예적인, 귀족적인, 섹시'등의 중간정도의 선호도를 나타내는 감성어휘들이 포함되었으며, 개인차가 적은 어휘로는 '건조한, 인공적인'등의 비선호감성과 '멋스런, 유연한'등의 선호감성이 있었다. 선호감성에 의해 남녀 대학생들을 유형화시키면 남녀 대학생의 선호감성은 크게 10가지로 나타났다. 대부분의 대학생들이 '캐주얼파'였으나(32.4%), 이는 다시 '비장식 개성 캐주얼파, 역동적 쿨개성 캐주얼파, 정성청결 캐주얼파'로 세분화되었다. 다음으로 많은 대학생들이 '로맨틱 모던파'(21.4%)였으며, 그 다음으로는 '단순 내추럴파'(17.3%)였다. 또한 '클래식파(9.2%-수공예 로맨틱 클래식파, 획일적 클래식파)', '비표현파'(8.7%). '호화개성 복고파'(7.4%), '민족감성 선호파'(4.6%) 등이 있었다. 감성어휘와 대학생의 집단들은 크게 두 개의 선호감성축(정적-동적, 경량-중량)을 중심으로 가시적으로 함께 그룹화/도식화될 수 있었다.

        This study was carried out to investigate breakfast behaviors of female college students. 500 questionnaires were distributed and 417 were used for statistical analysis(SAS program). This survey was conducted from June, 2000 to October, 2000. 44.7% of the respondents considered lunch to be the most important meal. 51.6% students thought that people must eat breakfast. 41.6% of the students always eat breakfast but 22.1% do not eat breakfast. Conventional type of breakfast was found to be the most popular (67.6%). But ₩400,000 monthly allowance group(P<0.05) and self prepared breakfast group preferred Western style breakfast. The main reason for eating breakfast was for health(34.6%). The group of students with less monthly allowance were more likely to skip breakfast due to lack of time (p<0.01). Physical discomforts after skipping breakfast were: lack of strength(42.5%), stomach ache(36.3%), giddiness(9.1%), and recovered temper(12.1%). In conclusion, it is needed that a convenient and nutritional education should be developed for college students' health.

        The purpose of this study was to establish marketing strategy and efficiency management of the department of occupational therapy in the University and College. The subject population included 890 students from six college and five university in National area. Data were collected through a survey questionnaire in a period from April 5 to May 5, 2001. The results are as follows: 1. It appeared that regarding criteria for selection of college by among students’ in the University and College, two type of college (University and College) were motivation of job obtain. 2. It appeared that regarding satisfaction of college life, University students are more satisfied than college students. Also it appeared that regarding satisfaction of department’s operation and environment of educations, University students are more satisfied than college students. 3.         The purpose of this study was to survey several aspects of health and food related behavior of college students in Wonju area. Questionnaires were delivered personally to 430 students. The 37.9% of subjects were self-boarded and 27.4% lived in their home in Wonju area. They spend 230,000 won in average per month. Male students spent money more than female students and self-boarding students spent money more than other residental type students. The 90% of subjects thought they were healthy and the 25% of subjects exercised regularly. The subjects self-recognized their body as fat were more concerning about their weight control and had more weight control experience. SeIf-boarding students tended to skip their meals and had unbalanced diet. Students who lived in dormitory tended to skip meal less. Female students showed higher scores at balanced diet, snack intake, and left meal than male students. Self recognized their body as medium showed lower scores at overeating and eating irregularly. The amount of consumption of carbonated beverage was the highest among several instant foods. The frequencies of intake of those instant foods were different by gender, residental types, and eating behaviors.

        부산지역 대학생 340명을 대상으로 전통음식의 패스트푸드화에 관한 견해를 조사한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 조사 대상자는 남학생이 56.2%, 여학생이 43.8%, 20-24세가 66.8%를 차지하였고, 자기집에 거주하는 학생이 73.6%이었으며, 평균용돈은 16-20만원이 31.8%로 가장 많은 비율 차지하였다. 2. 패스트푸드가 식습관에 미치는 영향은 '입맛이 서구화 되었다', '지방의 과잉섭취가 되었다', '외식을 더 좋아하게 되었다', '비만가능성이 커졌다' 의 순으로 나타났으며, 성별(p<0.01)로 유의적이 차이를 보여 남학생은 입맛의 서구화, 여학생은 지방의 과잉섭취의 비율이 높게 나타났다. 3. 외국브랜드 패스트푸드점의 이용에 대한 견해는 '생각해보지 많았다' (32.9%), '이용을 자제해야 한다' (23.1%)로 나타났으며 전통음식 패스트푸드점의 이용에 대해서는 '가끔 이용할 것이다' (56.5%). '많이 이용할 것이다' (19.8%)로 나타나 빠른 시일내에 한국형 전통음식 패스트푸드업체의 개발이 필요한 것으로 보인다. 4. 국내브랜드 패스트푸드점에 대한 견해로는 '모르겠다' (32.1%), '맛이 떨어진다' (20.8%), '어쩐지 외국 브랜드보다 못하다' (13.3%)의 순이었고, 성별(p<0.01)로 유의적인 차이를 보여 맛의 차이는 여학생이, 가격의 차이는 남학생이 높은 비율로 꼽았다. 5. 전통음식의 패스트푸드점에 대한 견해로는 '전망이 있다'가 62.2%, '신속히 이루어져야 한다'가 15.5%로 나타났으며, 전통음식 중 패스트푸드화 할 수 있는 음식으로는 떡, 한과류(27%), 불고기, 음료, 빈대떡, 잡채, 갈비찜, 구절판의 순이었다. 6. 전통음식을 패스트푸드화 하는데 있어서의 문제점으로는 사람들의 인식(29.7%), 음식의 기계화와 자동화(26.2%), 정성부족으로 인한 맛의 감소(21.6%) 순으로 나타났고, 성별(p<0.01), 연령별(p<0.05)로 유의적 인 차이를 보였다. 7. 전통음식 패스트푸드점이 생기면 이용도에 관한 견해는 '가끔 이용할 것이다'가 56.5%, '많이 이용할 것이다'가 19.8%로 나타났고, 연령별(p<0.05), 주거상태별(p<0.05)로 유의적인 차이를 보였는데 연령이 많을수록 '이용치 않겠다'는 비율이 높았고, 특히 주거상태별로는 '전혀 이용치 않을 것이다'의 비율이 하숙생이 높게 나타났다. 본 연구는 유행에 민감하고 문화의 변화를 주도하며 패스트푸드를 가장 많이 이용하는 세대인 대학생들을 대상으로 우리의 전통음식을 패스트푸드화 하였을 때의 견해를 알아보고 그 전망을 살피기 위한 연구였다. 연구결과에서 나타난 바와 같이 유행의 첨단을 달리는 신세대라 하더라도 많은 비율의 대학생들이 전통음식의 패스트푸드화에 전망을 밝게 보고 있었으며 이를 위해서는 많은 문제점도 지적하였다. 이에 전통음식의 패스트푸드화와 상품화에 대한 인식이 고무적인 방향으로 변화하고 있어 앞으로 계속 그 추이를 연구할 가치가 있다고 사료된다.

        눈의 형태에 적합한 콘택트렌즈 피팅상태를 얻기 위해서는 각 개인의 눈에 적합한 디자언을 가진 콘택트렌즈가 펼수적이며, 소프트 콘택트렌즈나 RGP 콘택트렌즈의 피탱상태를 결정하는 요인으로 안검의 형태와 위치가 중요하다. 안검의 형태는 특히 인종과 민족에 따라 상당히 다르며 한국인의 안검형태에 관한 연구는 미미한 설정이 므로, 전신질환과 머리 및 얼굴에 외상이 없고 안면부에 선천적인 기형이나 안검위치 에 이상소견이 없는 18-30 세 사이의 대학생 202 명(남자 102 명, 여자 100 명)을 대상 으로 안검의 형태를 사진촬영법으로 계측하고 분석하였다. 한국인의 검열길이는 서양인보다 짧으나 검열폭은 서양인과 큰 차이가 없는 것으 로 계측되었으며, 겸열의 형태는 검열의 정중션을 중심으로 가장 높고 낮으며, 검열 이 상외측으로 편위되어 서양엔의 안검형태와는 크게 다른 형태를 이루고 있었다. 상 안겹의 형태는 다른 인종과 비교하여 심하게 안쪽으로 말려있으며 상안검연은 각막 상윤부로부터 -2 위치에 위치한 형태가 많았다. 싱안검에 의한 각막덮임 비율은 상 당히 큰 값으로 계측되었으며 각막의 9-2 시 방향이 상안검에 의해 덮여있는 것으로 조사되었다. 따라서 한국언은 안검이 각막의 넓은 부위를 덮고 있고 안검의 말림정도 가 심하여 콘택트렌즈 피팅시 안검에 의한 영향이 크게 나타날 것으로 생각된다.
