        We generated a high resolution 3D object using a commercial DSLR camera and the low depth information of Kinect. High resolution depth map was obtained through camera calibration between the DSLR and Kinect sensor. 3D mesh model was created by the high resolution depth information and mapped with RGB color value. The experimental result showed that it is possible to create high resolution 3D object from the depth camera. This paper is expected to be applied to reality game graphic.

        화살깍지벌레 여름성충의 산란수를 항온조건에서 조사하였다. 총 산란수는 온도가 증가함에 따라 29℃까지는 증가하였고 그 후 감소하였다. 최대 산란수는 암컷당 평균 29℃에서 254.5개로 나타났다. 성충은 주기적인 산란활동을 보였으나, 그 형태는 온도에 따라 달랐다. 처리온도 25℃와 29℃에서는 3개 이상의 산란주기가 나타났다. 다른 온도에서는 두 번째 산란주기가 불완전하거나 확실하지 않았다. 첫 번째 산란주기 산란수는 온도에 따라 유의한 차이를 보였으며 25℃와 29℃에서 많았다. 또한 이후 산란주기의 산란수도 13℃, 17℃ 및 21℃에서는 25℃와 29℃ 보다 낮았다. 부화약충의 암컷 : 수컷 성비는 13℃, 17℃, 25℃, 29℃, 33℃에서 각각 1 : 0.48, 1 : 4.79, 1 : 2.48, 1 : 1.85, 1 : 0.56로 조사되었다.

        After liberation from Japanese colonial rule in 1945, there was the three-year period of United States Army Military Government in Korea. In 1948, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Republic of Korea were established in the north and south of the Korean Peninsula. The Republic of Korea is now a modern state set in the southern part of the Korean. We usually refer to Koreans as people who belong to the Republic of Korea. Can we say that is true exactly? Why make of this an obsolete question? The period from 1945 when Korea was emancipated from Japanese colonial rule to 1948 when the Republic of Korea was established has not been a focus of modern Korean history. This three years remains empty in Korean history and makes the concept of ‘Korean’we usually consider ambiguous, and prompts careful attention to the silence of ‘some Koreans’forced to live against their will in the blurred boundaries between nation and people. This dissertation regards ‘Koreans’who came to live in the border of nations, especially ‘Korean-Japanese third generation women artists’ who are marginalized both Japan and Korea. It questions the category of ‘Korean women’s art’that has so far been considered, based on the concept of territory, and presents a new perspective for viewing ‘Korean women’s art’. Almost no study on Korean-Japanese women’s art has been conducted, based on research on Korean diaspora, and no systematic historical records exist. Even data-collection is limited due to the political situation of South and North in confrontation. Representation of the Mother Country on the Artworks by First and Second-Generation Korean-Japanese(Zainich) Women Artists after Liberation since 1945 was published in 2011 is the only dissertation in which Korean-Japanese women artists, and early artistic activities. That research is based on press releases and interviews obtained through Japan. This thesis concentrates on the world of Korean-Japanese third generation women artists such as Kim Jung-sook, Kim Ae-soon, and Han Sung-nam, permanent residents in Japan who still have Korean nationality. The three Korean-Japanese third generation women artists whose art world is reviewed in this thesis would like to reveal their voices as minorities in Japan and Korea, resisting power and the universal concepts of nation, people and identity. Questioning the general notions of ‘Korean women’and ‘Korean women’s art’ considered within the Korean Peninsula, they explore their identity as Korean women outside the Korean territory from a post-territorial perspective and have a new understanding of the minority’s diversity and difference through their eyes as marginal women living outside the mainstream of Korean and Japanese society. This is associated with recent post-colonial critical viewpoints reconsidering myths of universalism and transcendental aesthetic measures. In the 1980s and 1990s art museums and galleries in New York tried a critical shift in aesthetic discourse on contemporary art history, analyzed how power relationships among such elements as gender, sexuality, race, nationalism. Ghost of Ethnicity: Rethinking Art Discourses of the 1940s and 1980s by Lisa Bloom is an obvious presentation about the post-colonial discourse. Lisa Bloom rethinks the diversity of race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender each artist and critic has, she began a new discussion on artists who were anti-establishment artists alienated by mainstream society. As migration rapidly increased through globalism lead by the United States the aspects of diaspora experience emerges as critical issues in interpreting contemporary culture. As a new concept of art with hybrid cultural backgrounds exists, each artist’s cultural identity and specificity should be viewed and interpreted in a sociopolitical context. A criticism started considering the distinct characteristics of each individual’s historical experience and cultural identity, and paying attention to experience of the third world artist, especially women artists, confronting the power of modernist discourses from a perspective of the white male subject. Considering recent international contemporary art, the Korean-Japanese third generation women artists who clarify their cultural identity as minority living in the border between Korea and Japan may present a new direction for contemporary Korean art. Their art world derives from their diaspora experience on colonial trauma historically. Their works made us to see that it is also associated with post-colonial critical perspective in the recent contemporary art stream. And it reminds us of rethinking the diversity of the minority living outside mainstream society. Thus, this should be considered as one of the features in the context of Korean women’s art.

        본 연구에서는 화력발전소에서 온배수의 형태로 배출되는 폐열을 히트펌프의 열원으로 이용하여 온실의 난방에 활용할 수 있는 히트펌프 시스템을 설계 제작하였으며, 난방 성능을 분석하여 PE 파이프 열교환기의 설계기준을 제시하고자 하였다. PE 파이프 열교환기의 내경은 20mm, 두께는 2mm였으며, Roll의 직경은 1,000mm로 하였다. 연구결과 PE파이프 열교환기의 적정 길이는 1.0RT당 75m로 설계하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단되었으며, 이때 히트펌프시스템의 난방성능계수(COPh)는 3.8로 나타났다.

        분화용 거베라의 채종 체계를 확립하기 위하여 ‘Ge- 10-47’(S4) 등 2계통에 대하여 1월부터 12월까지 15일 간격으로 자가수분을 실시하였고, ‘Ge-10-47’ 등 5계통 에 대하여 자가 수분, 형매 교배 및 타가수분 등의 교 배 방법에 따른 결실화율 및 결실화 당 종자 수를 조 사하였다. 교배시기별로는 주간 25 ± 3οC/야간 15 ± 3οC 가 유지되는 4-5월과 9-10월은 결실화율은 80% 이상이 고, 결실화 당 종자 수는 20개에서 70개로 다른 시기 보다 월등히 많았으나 겨울(11-2월) 및 여름(6-8월)에는 수정이 거의 안 되거나 낮게 나타났다. 교배 방법에 따 른 결실화율은 자가수분이 58.2%, 형매 교배는 70.8%, 타가수분은 77.5%이었다. 결실화 당 종자수도 자가수분 이 14.1개, 형매 교배가 19.0개, 타가수분은 22.7개를 나타냈다. 형매 교배 및 타가수분의 결실율이 자가수분 보다 높고, 결실화 당 채종립도 많은 경향이었다. 또한 교배 횟수는 2회가 알맞았고, 계통의 세대가 진전될수록 결실화율 및 결실화 당 종자 수는 현저히 적었다.

        Chironomus riparius, a non-biting midge (Chironomidae, Diptera), is extensively used in aquatic ecotoxicological studies for assessing acute and sub-lethal toxicities of contaminated sediments and for water monitoring due to their widespread occurrence, short life-cycle, easy to be reared in the laboratory, physiological tolerance to various environmental conditions. To date, the endpoints used for monitoring such effects in C. riparius are based on a small number of specific biomarkers and measurements of organism level effects, such as survival and reproduction. Genomic-based techniques based on expression analysis of genes are important tools for investigating molecular level effects caused by exposure to environmental pollutants, which will provide the ability to detect mechanisms of action and subsequent adverse cellular level effects and associated with different types of toxicity. As a pre-requisite for genomic based ecotoxicological studies knowledge on the C. riparius transcriptome is important but despite its ecotoxicological importance, no large scale transcriptome analysis of C. riparius has been done so far. Therefore, to gain a better understanding of C. riparius transcriptome, we recently developed Expressed Sequence Tags (ESTs) sequencing project on C. riparius larvae using 454 pyrosequencing. Sequencing runs, using normalized cDNA collections from fourth instar larvae, yielded 20,020 expressed sequence tags, which were assembled into 8,565 contigs and 11,455 singletons. Sequence analysis was performed by BlastX search against the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) nucleotide (nr) and uniprot protein database. Based on the gene ontology classifications, 24% (E-value ≤1-5) of the sequences had known gene functions, 24% had unknown functions and 52% of sequences did not match any known sequences in the existing database. Sequence comparison revealed 81% of the genes have homologous genes among other insects belonging to the order Diptera providing tools for comparative genome analyses. Targeted searches using these annotations identified genes associated with essential metabolic pathways, signaling pathways, detoxification of toxic metabolites and stress response genes of ecotoxicological interest. The results obtained from this study would eventually make ecotoxicogenomics possible in a truly environmentally relevant species, C. riparius. Various C. riparius ecotoxicity studies using stress response genes developed from 454 sequencing will be presented in the conference.

        This study was conducted to examine the optimal concentration and treatment time of antioxidants for inhibition of the ROS generation in bovine somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos. Bovine oocytes were activated parthenogenetically, during which oocytes were treated with various antioxidants to determine the optimal concentrations and kind of antioxidants. Determined antioxidants were applied to oocytes during in vitro maturation (IVM) and/or SCNT procedures. Finally, antioxidant-treated SCNT embryos were compared with in vitro fertilized (IVF) embryos. H2O2 levels were analyzed in embryos at 20 h of activation, fusion or insemination by staining of embryos in 10 μM 2'7'-dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate (H2DCFDA) dye, followed by fluorescence microscopy. H2O2 levels of parthenogenetic embryos were significantly lower in 25 μM β- mercaptoethanol (β-ME), 50 μM L-ascorbic acid (Vit. C), and 50 μM L-glutathione (GSH) treatment groups than each control group (24.0±1.5 vs 39.0±1.1, 29.7±1.0 vs 37.0±1.2, and 32.9±0.8 vs 36.3±0.8 pixels/embryo, p<0.05). There were no differences among above concentration of antioxidants in direct comparison (33.6±0.9~35.2±1.1 pixels/embryo). Thus, an antioxidant of 50 μM Vit. C was selected for SCNT. H2O2 levels of bovine SCNT embryos were significantly lower in embryos treated with Vit. C during only SCNT procedure (26.4±1.1 pixels/embryo, p<0.05) than the treatment group during IVM (29.9±1.1 pixels/embryo) and non-treated control (34.3±1.0 pixels/embryo). Moreover, H2O2 level of SCNT embryos treated with Vit. C during SCNT procedure was similar to that of IVF embryos. These results suggest that the antioxidant treatment during SCNT procedures can reduce the ROS generation level of SCNT bovine embryos.

        With the advent of the genomics era powered by DNA sequencing technologies, life science is being transformed significantly and biological research and development have been accelerated. Environmental biology concerns the relationships among living organisms and their natural environment, which constitute the global biogeochemical cycle. As sustainability of the ecosystems depends on biodiversity, examining the structure and dynamics of the biotic constituents and fully grasping their genetic and metabolic capabilities are pivotal. The high-speed highthroughput next-generation sequencing can be applied to barcoding organisms either thriving or endangered and to decoding the whole genome information. Furthermore, diversity and the full gene complement of a microbial community can be elucidated and monitored through metagenomic approaches. With regard to human welfare, microbiomes of various human habitats such as gut, skin, mouth, stomach, and vagina, have been and are being scrutinized. To keep pace with the rapid increase of the sequencing capacity, various bioinformatic algorithms and software tools that even utilize supercomputers and cloud computing are being developed for processing and storage of massive data sets. Environmental genomics will be the major force in understanding the structure and function of ecosystems in nature as well as preserving, remediating, and bioprospecting them.

        There are diverse methods of cryopreservation of mammalian embryos with variable degrees of success. Although cryopreservation technique of mammalian embryos has been advanced, freezing stress affect to cellular event such as apoptosis and autophage in embryos. The objective of the study is to investigate the affection of to survival, development, live offspring, apoptosis and autophagy on embryo. Mouse embryos were vitrified and thawed using normal straw and modified cut standard straw (M-CSS), then in vitro cultured until blastocyst stage and transferred to recipient. Recovery rates (100 vs 99.2%), survival rates (99.2 vs 78.6%), developmental rates (18.4 vs 10.7%), total cell numbers (45 vs 37), preganacy rates (34.5 vs 25%) and offspring numbers (10.1 vs 4.9 %) of M-CSS group are significantly higher than those of normal straw vitrified group. Also, rate of apoptosis in blastocysts developed using M-CSS (1.9%) was significantly lower than using normal straw vitrification (2.7%). Apoptosis-related gene, caspase 3, was expressed at the highest level in blastocysts derived from normal straw group. However, no differences of autophagy related gene, Atg6 and expression of LC3 between normal straw and M-CSS groups were observed. In conclusion, the standard vitrification procedure induces mitochondrial apoptosis in zygotes in an autophagy-independent manner, whereas the novel M-CSS procedure may improve embryo vitrification.

        Numerical simulation has been carried out to analyze seawater flow characteristics for shroud geometry variations with tidal current generation turbine. Seawater flow field characteristics in the turbine system are largely influenced by the shroud geometry. The vortex flow area in the diffuser part of the shroud gradually grows with the increase of shroud angle, but its recirculation velocity gets smaller. The centerline velocity of shroud increases with the length of cylinder part when diffuser part length and angle are constant(2.5m, 0.733rad) for the cylinder-diffuser type shroud system. Seawater velocity on the tip of turbine blade is pretty high, and as radial distance increases from the turbine axis, there is more gap between the fluid velocity isolines. These results in this study will be applicable for optimal design of tidal current generation system.

        Recently, environmental problems associated with the excessive use of fossil fuel are hot issue throughout the world. As an alternative energy resource, the importance of renewable energy is continuously rising. Especially, growth rate of photovoltaic energy generation is the best. In this paper, we present the result of investigations pertaining to the development of photovoltaic energy generation system installed on the sea. The system is consisted of photovoltaic energy generation panel, panel supporting structure, and floating structure. In the panel supporting structure, fiber reinforced polymer plastic (FRP) member manufactured by the pultrusion process is used. A floating type PV power generation structures shall be fabricated and this unit structure (I.e., module) is connected to extend to the appropriate size considering safety, workability, and economic efficiency. Developed floating type photovoltaic energy generation system is installed at fish farm in the south coast of Korea.

        The present study was conducted to examine the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) during micromanipulation procedures in bovine somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) embryos. Bovine enucleated oocytes were electrofused with donor cells, activated by a combination of Ca-ionophore and 6-dimethylaminopurine culture. Oocytes and embryos were stained in dichlorodihydrofluorescein diacetate or 3'-(p-hydroxyphenyl) fluorescein dye and the H2O2 or ˙OH radical levels were measured. In vitro fertilization (IVF) was performed for controls. The samples were examined with a fluorescent microscope, and fluorescence intensity was analyzed in each oocyte and embryo. The H2O2 and ˙OH radical levels of reconstituted oocytes were increased during manipulation (37.2~49.7 and 51.0~55.2 pixels, respectively) as compared to those of mature oocytes (p<0.05). During early in vitro culture, the ROS levels of SCNT embryos were significantly higher than those of IVF embryos (p<0.05). These results suggest that the cellular stress during micromanipulation procedures can generate the ROS in bovine SCNT embryos.
