로버트 쿠버(Robert Coover)의 소설 공개화형은 1953년 미국의 로젠버그 부부의 스파이 혐의 재판과 처형을 중심으로, 역사적 사실과 허구의 교차점을 탐구하며 포스트모더니즘적 서사 방식을 드러낸다. 이 작품은 냉전 시대의 편집 증, 반공 정서, 국가 승인 폭력의 스펙터클, 그리고 대중문화의 종교적 광란을 조명하며 현대 자본주의의 소비문화와 밀접히 연관된 글래머(glamour)의 개념 을 드러낸다. 글래머(glamour)의 개념을 바탕으로, 자본주의 소비문화와 쿠버 (Robert Coover)의 소설 공개화형(The Public Burning)에서 묘사된 처형의 장 면은 정치적·사회문화적 글래머의 한 형태로 변형된다. 소비문화와 가장 밀접하 게 연관된 매혹은 단순히 욕망을 자극하는 것에 그치지 않는다. 현대 사회에서 매혹은 매우 정교해졌으며, 이미 정치, 영화, 스포츠, 예술, 심지어 종교에까지 확장되었다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때, 공개화형의 주인공인 로젠버그 부부의 처형은 순교와 정치적 폭력이 글래머화(glamourization)된 명확한 사례로 볼 수 있다.
Burning mouth syndrome is a rare disorder of a complex nature that significantly impairs the life quality of those affected. Its clinical features are characterized by oral burning sensation as well as xerostomia, dysgeusia, and halitosis. While various etiological factors have been proposed over the last few decades, recent studies have focused on understanding its pathophysiology as a neuropathic disorder that involves both peripheral and central neuropathy. In addition, other explanations of BMS pathology have also been proposed, including hormonal disturbances during and after menopause, immunological challenges, and psychological distress. Despite these research efforts, the etiology of BMS remains elusive, awaiting further investigations. The scope of this review includes the current understanding of BMS pathology and animal models developed for deciphering molecular mechanisms underlying the development and progression of BMS. The overview of recent research efforts and our knowledge of BMS pathology will provide an opportunity to evaluate the status of our understanding of BMS and its future perspective in improving the life quality of those affected by this rather intractable disorder.
The limitation of markers for chronic oral diseases such as oral lichen planus (OLP) and burning mouth syndrome (BMS) is a diagnostic challenge for clinicians. The pathogenesis of OLP and BMS is not yet fully understood. Therefore, diagnoses are mainly based on the observation of clinical features and history, rather than established markers. C-reactive protein (CRP) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) are used to determine the state of inflammation; however, these markers have some limitations. Recently, a new inflammatory marker, pentraxin-3 (PTX3), has been identified in other systemic inflammatory diseases. PTX3 is a member of the pentraxin family and is classified as a long pentraxin. PTX3 is found in various human tissues, whereas the classical short pentraxin, CRP, is secreted only in the liver. PTX3 is a marker of autoimmune diseases and periodontitis. However, there are no studies on PTX3 in OLP and BMS; therefore, we sought to determine if PTX3 can be a diagnostic marker for OLP and BMS. PTX3 was found to be correlated with other inflammatory markers, suggesting its diagnostic value for inflammatory oral diseases. We also found that the PTX3 levels were lower in patients with OLP and BMS. ESR levels were elevated in the OLP and BMS groups, but CRP levels were not. Despite these associations, no correlation was found between PTX3 expression and other known clinical features of OLP and BMS. We suggest that PTX3 plays a role in the immunological and neurological pathways involved in the complex pathogenesis of OLP and BMS.
This paper examines the intersection between alternative social movements and corporate actors, focusing on the shared practices and potential overlap between these spheres. By analyzing the case of the Burning Man community and its globally recognized brand, this study explores three key research questions: the elements of a brand and its application in the context of counter-cultural social movements, the role of radical social movement members in brand co-creation, and how brand management can support co-creation within counter-culture social movements. Grounded in social movement literature and theories of brand management, this conceptual paper draws from the Burning Man Journal publications to investigate the relationship between branding and the Burning Man community. Burning Man, a participatory culture and annual event held in Black Rock City, Nevada, represents a unique case of a counter-cultural social movement. The paper challenges the notion that a brand is solely represented by a logo, highlighting the duality of brand identity and brand image. Burning Man's perspective on branding aligns with the concept of co-created brands, emphasizing the dynamic and iterative nature of brand identity.
Background: The purpose of this study was to determine the bidirectional association between burning mouth syndrome (BMS) and depression disorders. Methods: A total of 854 pairs of BMS and 58 999 pairs of depression disorders matched 1:1 for age and sex were analyzed using conditional logistic regression models, which were adjusted for potential confounding factors. Results: Bidirectional analysis found that BMS was associated with depression disorders (odds ratio=4.64, P < 0.001) and depression disorders was also significantly associated with BMS (odds ratio=2.97, P < 0.001). Conclusion: These findings indicate a significant bidirectional association between BMS and depression disorders. The odds ratios suggest that BMS is a stronger predictor for incidence of depression disorders than depression disorders predicting incidence of BMS. Given this retrospective cohort design, the mechanisms underlying the association between BMS and depression disorders are not directly analyzed. Therefore, further investigation are needed to analyze the causality between BMS and depression disorders.
본 연구에서는 중국 북동지역에서 발생하는 산불에 의한 생체연소 배출물이 장거리 수송으로 한국의 미세먼지 질량농도에 미치는 영향을 WRF-Chem 모델을 활용하여 분석하였다. 2020년 4월 4-7일에 한국은 중국 북동지역의 생체 연소 배출물과 더불어 중국 동부지역의 인위적 배출과 중국 북부와 몽골에서 발생한 황사의 영향을 함께 받고 있었다. 인위적 배출과 황사가 혼재된 대기오염 상황에서 zero-out 방법을 활용하여 생체연소 배출물을 분류하고 미세먼지 장거 리 수송 기여도를 분석하였다. 또한, 광역적인 생체연소 배출물의 분포에 따라 한반도 주변의 육지와 해양에 대한 복사 에너지 수지를 분석하였다. 2020년 4월 5-6일에는 한국의 하루평균 미세먼지 질량농도에 대한 생체연소 배출물의 장거리 수송 기여도가 60%로 산출되었다. 더불어 한반도 주변에 광역적으로 분포하는 생체연소 배출물의 영향으로 육지와 해양의 순 복사 플럭스는 음의 값을 나타내었다. 그러나 2020년 4월 7-8일에는 중국 동부지역에서 발생한 인위적 오염 물질이 생체연소 배출물에 더해지면서 한국의 미세먼지 질량농도는 4월 5-6일보다 증가하였으나 생체연소 배출물의 기 여도는 45% 이하로 감소하였다. 또한, 생체연소 배출물의 영향이 줄어들면서 순 복사 플럭스는 양의 값을 나타내었다.
The victims of fire are increasing steadily. Fires have been occurred by arson, spontaneous combustion and various causes. As a result of that, the damages of fire got out of hand. Especially, the fires of flammable liquids are can be spreaded easily because of high calorific value and fire loads. These rapid fire spread cause the huge losses of both life and property and the malfunction of extinguishing systems. In these studies, we examined the spread pattern of surface fire on the water surface by the reappearance experiment.
Recently, in circumstantial situation it is recommended positively to utilize of EIFS(Exterior Insulating and Finishing System) as energy policy for economizing energy. But internal EPS insulators of EIFS are exterior panel of high fire risk, because of constituting of flammable materials to be fragile in fire. In this study, fire risk is assessed by experiment Con Calorimeter test and SBI(Single Burning Item) test. As the result of experiment, Con Calorimeter tests do not reach to capability standard of internal incombustible grade, and are assessed as low grade in SBI incombustible grade. Because EIPS is exterior material in buildings with high fire risk in spite of good efficiency, it is required rapidly to take measures to meet situation through various studies(for instance, adjusting law regulation, etc.) in the future.
시화호 초지대의 소각에 의한 조류의 서식 영향에 대한 연구는 2007년 3월에서 10월까지 경기도 화성시 마도면 송정리 인근 시화호간척지의 초지에서 실시하였다. 계획소각은 2007년 2월 28일에서 3월 1일까지 시화호 간척지의 초지 중 육상부에 인접한 지역에 대해 실시하였다. 소각지역에서는 총 30종 최대개체수 합계 181개체의 조류가 관찰되었으며, 존치지역에서는 24종 최대개체수 합계 154개체가 관찰되어 소각지역의 관찰조류 종수와 개체수가 높았다. 하지만 우점종은 소각지와 존치지간에 차이가 없었다. 수조류와 산림성조류를 제외한 소각지와 존치지의 평균 종수, 평균개체수, 종 다양도, 종 풍부도는 차이가 없었다. 초기의 군집특성은 계획소각에 의하여 변화하였지만, 후기에는 차이가 감소하였다. 계획소각에 의한 서식지 교란은 일시적으로 새로운 서식지 및 취식장소를 제공하였다. 계획소각이 목본식물의 유입을 차단하여 초지생태계를 유지하는 효과적인 방법이며, 주기적인 계획소각이 초지생태계를 유지 및 관리하는 효율적인 방안임을 제안하고자 한다.
Recycling industrial wastes such as fly ash from a coal burning heat power plant and shell from an oyster farming were investigated to prevent environment contamination as well as to enhance the value of recycling materials. In this study, the lightweight aggregates and the red bricks were fabricated from fly ashes with other inorganic materials and wastes. The starting materials of the lightweight aggregate were fly ash powder and water glass, and the compacts of these materials were heat treated at . The fabricated lightweight aggregates had low bulk density, , hence floated on the water and had the strength of 7.0-11.0 MPa and the modulus of 2900-3300 MPa which indicates it has enough strength as the aggregate. Another type of the light weight aggregate was prepared from fly ashes, shell powders and clays. The bulk density, porosity, and compressive strength of these aggregates were and 5-12 MPa, respectively. The addition of a small amount of fly ash powder prevented hydration of the light weight aggregates. The red brick was also fabricated from the fly ash containing materials. It is suitable for the brick facing of a building as it has moderate strength and low water absorption rate.
논둑 불태우기의 당위성을 찾기 위하여 1995년부터 1997까지 2년동안 안동 지방 2개 지역 농가 포장에서 논둑을 태운 뒤의 잡초상, 곤충상 및 거미상과 아울러 다각적인 환경요인에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결과 및 기존자료들을 종합하여 볼 때 잡초상, 곤충상 및 도열병발생 등에는 별 영향이 없고 거미상 및 논둑 보존 등에는 불리하게 작용하며 더욱이 산불의 원인이 될 수 있는 등 뚜렷한 득은 없고 확실한 손실만을 초래하는 것으로 판단되어 논둑 불태우기를 절대 금하는 기초자료로 활용할 것을 건의한다.
The formerly proposed spectral model of turbulent burning velocity is refined for nonstoichiometric hydrocarbon mixtures. Refinements are made in regard to the following two points : (1) an effect of the diffusivity of deficient reactant on the turbulent burning velocity and (2) consideration of increasing laminar name thickness with a decrease in the laminar burning velocity A comparison between the predicted turbulent velocities and the measured ones is made. The predictions by the refined spectral model agree quantatively well with the experimental results in the regime of practical equivalence ratio, but not in the high and low equivalence ratio regime.
