        The design and analysis of the rigidity and deformation of the vehicle body are basically performed in two forms. First, the relative response of components separated from a parent system or connected as a model of a subsystem is examined. Second, the entire model is used to consider the absolute response of the components to the externally transmitted vehicle service load, which is defined as that of the entire vehicle body system. In this paper, we propose the finite element modeling for the structural design of the car body. First, we will explain the simple finite element modeling of the car body, explain the method of formulating the stiffness of the joint, and finally the shell element. The proposed finite element modeling is proposed. By applying the proposal, it is possible to propose finite element modeling of all medium and large passenger cars less than 3 tons.

        Electro-coagulation process has been gained an attention recently because it could overcome the membrane fouling problems in MBR(Membrane bio-reactor). Effect of the key operational parameters in electro-coagulation, current density(ρ i) and contact time(t) on membrane fouling reduction was investigated in this study. A kinetic model for ρi and t required to reduce the membrane fouling was suggested under different MLSS(mixed liquor suspended solids) concentration. Total 48 batch type experiments of electro-coagulations under different sets of current densities(2.5, 6, 12 and 24 A/m2), contact times(0, 2, 6 and 12 hr) and MLSS concentration(4500, 6500 and 8500mg/L) were carried out. After each electro-coagulation under different conditions, a series of membrane filtration was performed to get information on how much of membrane fouling was reduced. The membrane fouling decreased as the ρi and t increased but as MLSS decreased. Total fouling resistances, Rt (=Rc+Rf) were calculated and compared to those of the controls (Ro), which were obtained from the experiments without electro-coagulation. A kinetic approach for the fouling reduction rate (Rt/Ro) was carried out and three equations under different MLSS concentration were suggested: i) pi0.39t = 3.5 (MLSS=4500 mg/L), ii) pi0.46t = 7.0 (MLSS=6500 mg/L), iii) pi0.74t = 10.5 (MLSS=8500 mg/L). These equations state that the product of ρi and t needed to reduce the fouling in certain amounts (in this study, 10% of fouling reduction) is always constant.

        As many existing research fields are matured academically, researchers have encountered numbers of academic, social and other problems that cannot be addressed by internal knowledge and methodologies of existing disciplines. Earlier, pioneers of researchers thus are following a new paradigm that breaks the boundaries between the prior disciplines, fuses them and seeks new approaches. Moreover, developed countries including Korea are actively supporting and fostering the convergence research at the national level. Nevertheless, there is insufficient research to analyze convergence trends in national R&D support projects and what kind of content the projects mainly deal with. This study, therefore, collected and preprocessed the research proposal data of National Research Foundation of Korea, transforming the proposal documents to term-frequency matrices. Based on the matrices, this study derived detailed research topics through Latent Dirichlet Allocation, a kind of topic modeling algorithm. Next, this study identified the research topics each proposal mainly deals with, visualized the convergence relationships, and quantitatively analyze them. Specifically, this study analyzed the centralities of the detailed research topics to derive clues about the convergence of the near future, in addition to visualizing the convergence relationship and analyzing time-varying number of research proposals per each topic. The results of this study can provide specific insights on the research direction to researchers and monitor domestic convergence R&D trends by year.

        The manufacturing companies under Make-To-Order (MTO) production environment face highly variable requirements of the customers. It makes them difficult to establish preemptive production strategy through inventory management and demand forecasting. Therefore, the ability to establish an optimal production schedule that incorporates the various requirements of the customers is emphasized as the key success factor. In this study, we suggest a process of designing the simulation model for establishing production schedule and apply this model to the case of a flat glass processing company. The flat glass manufacturing industry is under MTO production environment. Academic research of flat glass industry is focused on minimizing the waste in the cutting process. In addition, in the practical view, the flat glass manufacturing companies tend to establish the production schedule based on the intuition of production manager and it results in failure of meeting the due date. Based on these findings, the case study aims to present the process of drawing up a production schedule through simulation modeling. The actual data of Korean flat glass processing company were used to make a monthly production schedule. To do this, five scenarios based on dispatching rules are considered and each scenario is evaluated by three key performance indicators for delivery compliance. We used B2MML (Business To Manufacturing Markup Language) schema for integrating manufacturing systems and simulations are carried out by using SIMIO simulation software. The results provide the basis for determining a suitable production schedule from the production manager's perspective.

        수영만 해역의 오염원 관리를 위해 유입되는 육상기인 오염물질의 체류특성을 분석하였다. 오염물질의 체류특성은 해수유동 모델과 입자추적 모델을 활용하여 분석하였다. 오염물질은 입자로 표현되며, 입자의 양과 오염물질량은 비례하도록 나타내었다. 체류특성은 각 오염원별로 부하량, 해역에서 체류하는 오염물질량, 부하량 대비 해역에 체류하는 오염물질량을 비교하여 분석하였다. 수영만 해역에 체류하고 있는 오염물질량을 오염원별 순으로 나타내면 수영하수처리장, 남부하수처리장, 수영강 등의 순이었다. 오염부하량이 적고 만 내측에서 멀어질수록 해역에 체류하는 오염물질량이 적었다. 오염원 중에서는 남부하수처리장에서 유입되는 부하량이 가장 많았다. 하지만, 유입 부하량 대비 해역에 체류하는 오염물질량은 수영만으로 유입되는 오염원 중 가장 낮은 값을 보였다. 이는, 해역의 특성과 각 오염원의 지형적인 특성에 따라 오염물질이 해역에 미치는 정도가 다르다는 것을 의미한다.

        The present study aimed to develop growth prediction models of Listeria monocytogenes in processed meat products, such as mixed pressed hams, to perform accurate microbial risk assessments. Considering cold storage temperatures and the amount of time in the stages of consumption after opening, the growth of L. monocytogenes was determined as a function of temperature at 0, 5, 10, and 15 ℃, and time at 0, 1, 3, 6, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 days. Based on the results of these measurements, a Baranyi model using the primary model was developed. The input parameters of the Baranyi equation in the variable temperature for polynomial regression as a secondary model were developed: SGR = 0.1715 + 0.0199T + 0.0012T2, LT = 5.5730 - 0.3215T + 0.0051T2 with R2 values 0.9972 and 0.9772, respectively. The RMSE (Root mean squared error), Bf (bias factor), and Af (accuracy factor) on the growth prediction model were determined to be 0.30, 0.72, and 1.50 in SGR (specific growth rate), and 0.10, 0.84, and 1.35 in LT (lag time), respectively. Therefore, the model developed in this study can be used to determine microorganism growth in the stages of consumption of mixed pressed hams and has potential in microbial risk assessments (MRAs).

        Whole body fatigue detection is an important phenomenon and the factors contributing to whole body fatigue can be controlled if a mathematical model is available for its assessment. This research study aims at developing a model that categorizes whole body exertion into fatigued and non-fatigued states based on physiological and perceived variables. For this purpose, logistic regression was used to categorize the fatigued and non-fatigued subject as dichotomous variable. Normalized mean power frequency of eight muscles from 25 subjects was taken as physiological variable along with the heart rate while Borg scale ratings were taken as perceived variables. The logit function was used to develop the logistic regression model. The coefficients of all the variables were found and significance level was checked. The detection accuracy of the model for fatigued and non-fatigues subjects was 83% and 95% respectively. It was observed that the mean power frequency of anterior deltoid and the Borg scale ratings of upper and lower extremities were significant in predicting the whole body fatigued when evaluated dichotomously (p < 0.05). The findings can help in better understanding of the importance of combined physiological and perceived exertion in designing the rest breaks for workers involved in squat lifting tasks in industrial as well as health sectors.

        Steam tables including superheated, saturated and compressed region were simultaneously modeled using the neural networks. Pressure and temperature were used as two inputs for superheated and compressed region. On the other hand Pressure and dryness fraction were two inputs for saturated region. The outputs were specific volume, specific enthalpy and specific entropy. The neural network model were compared with the linear interpolation model in terms of the percentage relative errors. The criterion of judgement was selected with the percentage relative error of 1%. In conclusion the neural networks showed better results than the interpolation method for all data of superheated and compressed region and specific volume of saturated region, but similar for specific enthalpy and entropy of saturated region.

        Combining digital automation solutions throughout recent manufacturing process is essential. Advanced robot and mechanical techniques are required for design, manufacture, and distribution process. Manual design of repetitive similar mechanical components during the development phase of these advanced machines and robots can occur wasting time and money. Developed gear design module, which is the power transfer system mechanical component, was programmed in the Visual Basic language in CATIA V5 environment. Automation Process is Based on Parametric Modeling Method. and it was found to be effective in reducing design time compared to designers manual modeling.

        본 논문은 고전적인 오일러-베르누이 보의 집중소성힌지 모델링을 위한 일반유한요소법을 제안한다. 이 기법에서 소성힌지는 해의 약불연속을 묘사하는 적절한 확장함수에 의해 모델링되며, 요소간의 연결성을 변화시키지 않으면서 임의의 위치에 소성힌지를 삽입하는 것이 가능하다. 대신 소성힌지는 이미 존재하는 요소에 위계적으로 자유도를 추가함으로써 형성된다. 제안된 기법의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 수치해석 예제에 대해 h-, p-확장과 같은 수렴성 해석을 수행하였다. 수렴성 해석의 결과가 제안된 기법이 소성힌지가 절점 및 요소 내의 임의의 위치에 존재하는 두 가지 경우 모두에 대하여 유한요소이론에 의한 수렴속도를 얻을 수 있음을 보여주어 기법의 정확성을 입증하였다.

        건축물을 중심으로 개발된 데이터 스키마인 Industry Foundation Class(IFC)를 토목구조물에 적용하기 위하여 IFC 요소를 확장하는 노력이 진행되고 있지만, BIM소프트웨어에서 확장 IFC 기반의 정보모델을 생성하는 방법이 충분하지 않아 어려움이 따른다. 본 연구에서는 정보관리가 가능한 확장 IFC 기반의 철도 궤도부 정보모델을 생성하기 위하여 독립적인 선형중심의 철도 궤도부 요소모델을 생성하고, 생성된 모델을 기반으로 확장 IFC 기반의 모델을 생성하는 방법론을 제시하였다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 철도 궤도부 요소를 연속적 구조물과 비연속적 구조물로 분류하였다. 연속적 구조물은 선형 기반 소프트웨어에서 생성하였고 이산화된 선형정보 연계를 통해 비연속 구조물을 독립적인 객체로 생성하고 이들을 통합하여 철도 궤도부 정보모델을 생성하였다. 둘째, 철도 궤도부의 정보관리를 위한 분류체계 및 확장 IFC 스키마를 제시하였다. 마지막으로 속성정보와 User-interface를 활용하여 객체의 의미정보를 식별하여 확장 IFC 요소와 매핑하였다. 제시한 방법론을 통하여 오송철도종합시험선로를 대상으로 정보관리가 가능한 확장 IFC 기반의 정보모델을 생성됨을 확인하고 실용성을 검증하였다.

        The objective of this study is to identify the research trend in the field of indoor environment in Korea. We collected 419 papers published in the Journal of the Korean Society for indoor environment between 2004 and 2018, and attempted to produce datasets using a topic modeling technique, Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA). The result of topic modeling showed that 8 topics (“VOCs investigation”, “Subway environment”, “Building thermal environment”, “School health”, “Building particulate matter”, “Asbestos risk”, “Radon risk”, “Air cleaner and treatment”) could be extracted using Gibbs sampling method. In terms of topic trends, investigation of volatile organic compounds, subway environment, school health, and building particulate matter showed a decreasing tendency, while the building thermal environment, asbestos risk, radon risk, air cleaners, and air treatment showed an increasing tendency. The results of this topic modeling could help us to understand current trends related indoor environment, and provide valuable information in developing future research and policy frameworks.

        In this study, a motion control problem for the vessels towed by tugboats or towing ships on the sea is considered. The towed vessel looks like the barge ship, which is used for many purposes. In these vessels, basically, the power propulsion system is not installed but just towed by a towing vessel such as tugboats with ropes and wires. It means that the motions of towed vessel are basically dependent on the tracking route of towing boat. Therefore, in some cases, undesirable and unpredictable motions may be made by environmental factors such as wave, wind attack and so on. As a result, a collision accident with others may occur during maneuvering situation. Based on these facts, the authors try to encourage the steering performance of the towed vessel by using controllable rudders without any propulsion system. In this study, especially, a controllable vessel with three rudders is considered, and a mathematical model is induced for the future study. The model is described as surge, sway motion and inertia moment by following the general representation method for the surface ship.
