        The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in perception of food hygiene and interest in dietary information among university students. A total of 550 college students from Seoul and the surrounding metropolitan area participated in this questionnaire using one-to-one interviews from September 20th to 28th, 2012. Three groups were classified according to level of awareness and practice of food safety. The highest education level of food safety was in the active-practice group (69.6%), with 58.0% in the want-practice group and 24.6% in the low-practice group. There were significant differences between the awareness and practice groups in terms of importance of food safety (p<0.001). Exactly 74.3% interest in food hygiene was measured in the active-practice group. Interests in dietary and food information were different between the groups: 71.4% for the active-practice group versus 24.6% for the low-practice group (p<0.001). Lowpractice group showed the lowest scores for interests in organic food, pesticide-free food, low-pesticide food, slow food, LOHAS, healthy-functional food, nutritional labels, and expiration dates. In conclusion, appropriate levels of food hygiene and food safety education should be provided by the food industry according to perception of food awareness and practice of food safety.

        본 연구에서는 우리나라 해기사들의 행동특성을 파악하고, 이를 통제하기 위한 방안을 제시함으로써 해양안전 문화설계를 용이하게 하고자 하였다. 한국선원 377명을 대상으로 실증분석 결과, 우리나라 선원은 일반적인 한국인의 성격특성 중 “정이 많다”는 것이 가장 뚜렷한 인식을 보였으며, 유교적 관습이 아직도 해상직업 종사자들에게도 영향을 많이 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 직책별, 성별, 선종별 집단간에는 행동특성의 차이를 보이지 않았으나 학력별로는 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 한국선박의 안전운항을 위해 동원될 수 있는 수단은 한국선원의 집단 구성에 관계없이 부적 강화물을 제공하는 것보다는 정적 강화물을 제공하는 것이 도움이 될 것으로 판단된다. 선박의 안전관리 수단은 학력수준 외는 집단별 차이가 없는 것으로 나타나, 선원의 학력수준에 맞는 안전관리방안을 도입하는 것이 안전관리의 효율성을 높일 것으로 판단된다.

        While the reduction of industrial accidents has been stagnant, many researchers have been studying and focusing on safety behaviors including safety perception, attitude and safety culture as a new solution as well as a turning-point of this issue. However, we do not pay attention to those studies and researches in Korean construction. Therefore, this study is to introduce preceding researches and case studies in other countries and suggest a new direction to Korean construction. This study found out the current situation and problems in Korean construction studies after tracing the safety perception, attitude and safety culture in Korea and reviewing the background and trend of overseas studies and researches with regard to safety behaviors. Fundamental researches and systematic studies must be conducted in Korean construction with the reference and research data of this study.

        The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of stress response on safety behavior and to explore moderating effect of safety climate between stress response and safety behavior. 224 workers were asked to respond to the questionnaires that measured various demographic variables, stress response, safety climates and safety behaviors. A hierarchical regression was conducted to identify variables that had significant relationships with safety behavior and to examine moderating effect of safety climate between stress response and safety behavior. Results indicated that the depression response significantly predicted safety behavior. It was found that the safety climate was also a significant predictor for safety behavior. In addition, safety climate had a moderating effect on the relation between depression and anger responses and safety behavior.

        This study compared the effects of praise and punishment for improving safety behaviors. Participants were 30 volunteer undergraduate students and they were randomly assigned to one of two experimental conditions: (1) praise under which positive feedback was delivered for safe behaviors, (2) punishment under which negative feedback was delivered for unsafe behaviors. A simulated computerized work task was developed specifically for this study. Participants had to work on the work task and follow seven safety rules while working. When they follow all the seven safety rules, their behaviors were considered safe. If they did not follow any one of the rules, their behaviors were considered unsafe. Results showed that the percentage of safe behavior under group of praise feedback was significantly higher than under group of punish feedback.

        본 연구는 학교습식의 위생안전성관리에 대한 학부모의 지식, 태도 및 행동 수준과 이에 미치는 요인을 알아보고자 수행되었다. 1개 도지역에서 직영급식을 실시하는 초등학교에 다니는 학생의 어머니를 무작위로 추출하였으며, 미리 개발된 설문지에 의하여 2001년 4월부터 5월 사이에 조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사는 응답자의 자기기입식으로 수행하였으며 응답자 301명의 자료를 통계적으로 분석하였다. 응답자의 점수에서 전반적으로 행동 수준(평균 2.89점)은 지식 수준(평균 4.48점)이나 태도 수준(평균 4.34점)에 비하여 유의하게 낮았다(p<0.05). 또 5개 범주(식품안전성관리, 종사자개인위생관리, 시설·설비·기구위생관리, 폐기물관리 및 기록유지관리)에서도 모두 그러한 경향을 보였다. 로지스틱 회귀분석 결과 응답자의 학교급식의 위생안전성관리에 대한 지식과 태도에 영향을 미치는 요인으로는 교육 수준이 비교적 많이 제시되었으나, 행동에 영향을 미치는 용인으로는 학교급식활동 참여 여부가 가장 많이 제시되었다. Pearson 상관분석 결과, 응답자의 지식과 태도 사이에 유의한 상관관계가 관찰되었다(r=0.61404, p<0.01). 이러한 결과는 응답자의 지식과 태도는 양호한 수준이나 지식과 행동 및 태도와 행동 사이에는 큰 격차가 있음을 제시한다. 학부모의 학교급식의 위생안전성관리에 대한 행동 수준을 향상시키고 또한 이러한 격차를 줄이기 위해서는 학교급식참여 프로그램을 강화 및 개발할 필요가 있다.

        The purpose of this study is to investigate systematic and comprehensive explanation about safety behavior by applying integrated model of Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT). By showing the interrelationship of effects of factors affecting safety behavior in a single model, comprehensive understanding regarding safety behavior will be possible. Research design, data, and methodology: This study try to integrate the two theory, TPB and SCT, to introduce background factors, such as safety culture, affecting cognitive factors of subjective norm, safety attitude, perceived behavioral control, safety consciousness, which are again affecting behavior intention of the TPB. We composed 73 questionnaire to analyse the relationship among factors affecting safety behavior. The questionnaire were distributed to stewards and stewardesses of KAL, ASIANA, and LCCs. 422 were collected and used for analysis. Factor analysis, regression analysis, and control effect analysis were conducted using SPSS windows version 2.0. Results: The safety culture, safety atmosphere, and safety education/training were turned out to affect subjective norm, safety attitude, perceived behavioral control, safety consciousness. And the cognitive factors also showed to affect safety intention significantly. The results that safety intention affects safety behavior was found. Also there are control effect of cost consciousness and punishment while safety intention affects safety behavior. Conclusions: Safety is the virtue that should be given first priority to in our daily life. To secure safety, everyone in an organization should have high level of safety intention and conduct safety behavior. The study results provide systematic and comprehensive understandings on the relationship among factors affecting cabin crews’ safety behavior. The results will help design safety related regulations, education/training, and support employees to engage in safety behavior related activities.

        Load test is performed to obtain the data to evaluate load carrying capacity and check static & dynamic characteristics of a structure by estimating the real behavior of bridge due to loading the load. The subject facility in this paper is a bridge located on the spiilway of dam and traffic is relatively less than most brige. Considering the age and operation rules of a dam, however, load test and structure programming analysis were performed to check current conditions for structure under in-depth inspection and the results of that analysis are shown.

        Even though consumers’ concern about food-safety certified or environment-friendly chicken meat becomes one of the main issues of food consumption in Korea, university students’ interest about food-safety certified or environment-friendly chicken meat was not often discussed. We realized that the cafeteria of university is one of the largest consumption points for the chicken meat of university students, and tried to analyze university students’ consumption of food-safety certified or environment-friendly chicken meat at the cafeterias of university. The object of this paper is to conduct survey analysis about the students' behavior for consumption of food-safety certified or environment-friendly chicken meat at the cafeterias of university and to measure WTP(Willingness-to-pay) for the food cooked with foodsafety certified or environment-friendly chicken meat. The results present that most of students show higher preference of environment-friendly chicken meat than food-safety certified chicken meat, and that they can pay 1,329.9 Korean won for food cooked with environment-friendly chicken meat.

        This study aims to identify the degree of safety when mariners take their actions in several different situations. We have carried out many experiments to observe mariners' behavior and then measured the safety level based on their actions to avoid dangerous situations of ships collision. One of the most important actions that mariners have to take, either as their daily routine or when they are in a collision situation and then want to avoid that situation is the lookout. In this paper, behaviors on the lookout have been defined as a standard sequence of three steps which are "time of first detection", "time of recognition as risky vessel" and "time of starting avoiding action", and the suitability and applicability of the definition have been shown. And also we propose the risk assessment on ships collision and the recommendation for reducing ships collision at sea. Some analyzing results and the application of the results are reported. By combining these knowledge and some systematic studies, we propose the risk assessment on ships collision and the recommendation for reducing ships collision at sea.

        본 연구에서는 지진시 nailed-soil 굴착벽체의 안전율과 거동특성에 대하여 제시하였다. 시간이력해석을 이용하여 정적하중과 지진하중을 받는 nailed-soil 굴착벽체 전면부의 수평변위, 축력, 전단력, 모멘트를 해석하였다. Dawson과 Roth가 제안한 전단강도 감소기법에 바탕을 둔 안전율을 지진시 nailed-soil 굴착벽체의 안전율 계산에 사용하였다. 제안된 방법에 의한 안전율을 기존의 연구에서 산정된 안전율과 비교하여 그 타당성을 확인하였다.

        It can be said that the relationship between the maneuvering ability of operators and the navigational environment affects the safe degree of navigation in the collision avoidance situation. In order to reduce the occurrence probability of accident and to maintain the safety, it is necessary to clarify the relationship between human behavior and navigational environment. In this study, therefore, we analyzed and discussed the relationship between the maneuvering characteristics and the safety focused on human behavior as a fundamental factor of marine accidents using ship handling simulator and questionnaire. As a result, we concluded that navigational environment changes variously and the maneuvering ability of operators also varies with the navigational environment, and the ship handling characteristics strongly affect the occurrence probability of accident.
