Background: The Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is widely used for movement assessment but suffers from subjective scoring that leads to inconsistent evaluations. While previous studies have focused on reliability, the validity of AI-supported assessment remains unexplored. Objectives: To evaluate the reliability and validity of an AI-based motion analysis system using MediaPipe for three FMS movements. Design: Prospective reliability and validity study with repeated measures. Methods: Thirty healthy adults (age 23.4±2.8 years) performed three FMS tests (Deep Squat, Hurdle Step, Inline Lunge) recorded on video. Three evaluators (two experienced physical therapists and one novice) assessed recordings in three phases: Phase 1 involved traditional assessment by experts only to establish criterion reference, Phase 2 had all evaluators using AI support, and Phase 3 consisted of repeated AI-supported assessment. The AI system provided real-time visual feedback of joint angles and alignment through MediaPipe skeletal tracking. Results: Criterion validity showed strong agreement between traditional expert assessment and AI-supported assessment (r=0.94, P<.05). Inter-rater reliability improved from good (ICC=0.89) to excellent (ICC=0.91) with AI support. The novice evaluator achieved immediate expert-level performance with only 0.05 points difference from experts. Intra-rater reliability was excellent for all evaluators (ICC=0.84-0.89). Conclusion: The AI-based system demonstrated strong validity and improved reliability for fundamental movement assessment. While AI support enabled novice evaluators to achieve expert-level performance immediately, it may increase sensitivity to subtle movement variations. This technology shows promise for standardizing movement screening, though current limitations restrict its application to standing movements.
This study evaluated the field applicability of a real-time odor monitoring system combined with ozone water spraying technology to effectively control odors generated in livestock manure recycling facilities. Research was conducted at a Natural Circulation Agriculture Center located in N City, where concentrations of ammonia (NH3), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) were measured in real time. Based on real-time data, ozone water was sprayed to assess the odor reduction rate, and the impact on surrounding areas was predicted through odor dispersion modeling. The results showed that the ammonia concentration measured at the upper section of the liquid aeration tank before ozone water spraying was 8.02 ppm, exceeding the emission limit of 1 ppm. VOCs were also found to have significantly contributed to odor generation. However, after spraying ozone water at a rate of 7 L/min and maintaining a concentration of 2.5 mg/L, ammonia was reduced by approximately 50%, and VOCs were reduced by about 98%, demonstrating a strong odor-reducing effect. Odor dispersion modeling using the CALPUFF modeling system simulated the range of odor dispersion before and after ozone water spraying. The results indicated that after ozone water spraying, the ammonia concentration at the facility boundary met the emission limit, effectively suppressing odor dispersion. In particular, the ozone water spraying system linked with the real-time sensor enabled automated odor control based on real-time data, demonstrating its potential for resolving odor complaints and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
과거 지진 발생 시 구조요소에 비해 비구조요소에서 더 많은 피해가 발생하였다. 비구조요소의 손상은 건물 및 시설의 기능에 영향을 줄 뿐만 아니라 인명피해를 유발할 수 있다. 건축물 내진설계 기준에서는 피난경로상의 비구조요소는 내진설계 또는 검토가 필요하다. 국내에서는 경주지진 이후 피난경로에 위치할 수 있는 천장 시스템의 내진성능 검증이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 옥외 계단, 문 등에 설치되는 캐노피 시스템의 내진설계 및 검증은 미흡한 실정이다. 지진으로 인해 캐노피가 위치유지를 하지 못하여 탈락 하거나 손상될 경우, 피난경로가 차단되어 인명피해로 이어질 수 있으므로 내진설계 및 내진성능을 평가할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 모듈형 캐노피 시스템을 개발하고, 주요 요소에 대한 구조실험을 수행하였으며, 기존의 캐노피 시스템과 그 성능을 비교분 석 하였다.
해운 산업은 탄소 배출 저감을 위한 다양한 기술적 해결책을 모색하고 있으며, 그중 암모니아(NH3)는 차세대 무탄소 연료로 각 광받고 있다. 암모니아는 이산화탄소(CO2)를 배출하지 않으며, 기존 인프라를 활용해 대규모 운송 및 저장이 가능하다는 장점이 있다. 본 연구는 암모니아를 수소(H2)로 개질하여 연료전지에 공급하고, 이를 통해 전력을 생산하는 하이브리드 전기 추진 시스템의 성능을 평가하 였다. 암모니아-수소 개질기, 수소 연료전지, 배터리로 구성된 이 시스템은 친환경적인 추진 방식이다. 경사 시험(Heel test)은 선박이 실제 항해 중에 겪을 수 있는 10도 경사 상황에서 시스템이 안정적으로 작동하는 평가하기 위해 수행되었다. 시험 결과, 암모니아 개질기는 경사 조건에서도 안정적으로 수소를 생산하였다. 연료전지와 배터리가 결합된 하이브리드 시스템은 부하 변동 상황에서도 효율적으로 전력을 관리하고 안정적인 전력 공급을 유지했다. 특히 경사 상태에서도 시스템 성능 저하 없이 연료전지와 배터리 전력, 전류, 전압의 상호작용이 원활하게 이루어졌음을 확인할 수 있다. 본 연구는 향후 친환경 선박의 핵심 기술로 자리 잡을 수 있는 암모니아 기반 추진 시스템의 안정 성과 성능을 실험적으로 검증하였다는 점에서 그 의미가 있으며, 따라서 본 연구 결과는 해운 산업에서 암모니아 기반 추진 시스템의 사용 화 가능성을 높이는 중요한 기초 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다.
상수도 시스템에서의 사고 발생은 사용자들의 물 이용 불편으로 인해 막대한 사회경제적 피해를 초래할 수 있는 위협 요인이며, 따라서 수도사업자들은 수도정비기본계획 등을 통해 상수도 사고를 빠르게 복구하고, 피해 규모를 최소화하기 위한 다양한 노력을 기울이고 있다. 본 연구는 상수도 시스템에서 발생하는 관로사고 상황에 대하여 회복탄력성을 정량적으로 평가하고, 비상급수 방안을 포함한 사고 대응 전략의 효과를 분석하기 위한 평가 모형을 개발하였다. 개발 모형은 시스템의 회복탄력성에 기여하는 다양한 특성들을 반영할 수 있는 시간단위 공급 부족량과 충족률 지표를 통해 회복탄력성을 평가하며, 국내 지방상수도 시스템의 특정 구역을 대상으로 관로사고 시나리오를 모의하여 개발 모형의 적용 효과를 검증하였다. 결과적으로 개발 모형을 통해 비상연계관로, 배수지 충수, 병물 공급 등 비상대응 방안의 효과를 정량적으로 평가하였으며, 이를 통해 시스템의 회복탄력성 향상을 위한 설계 및 운영 전략 수립의 가능성을 확인하였다.
This study is about the evaluation for shock-proof performance of the system, elastically support the low accumulator of the naval artillery against underwater explosion, using DDAM. For the evaluation, the shock analysis procedure using DDAM, supported by MSC/NASTRAN, was briefly described. In addition, in order to perform the shock analysis, the elastic support system was modeled as a finite element. The shock analysis of the elastic support system was performed by selecting the analysis frequency range so that reliable results can be obtained. Finally, the shock-proof performance of the system was evaluated by comparing the shock analysis results with the properties of the elastic support system.
The pressure sensor had been widely used to effectively monitor the flow status of the water distribution system for ensuring the reliable water supply to urban residents for providing the prompt response to potential issues such as burst and leakage. This study aims to present a method for evaluating the performance of pressure sensors in an existing water distribution system using transient data from a field pipeline system. The water distribution system in Y District, D Metropolitan City, was selected for this research. The pressure data was collected using low-accuracy pressure sensors, capturing two types of data: daily data with 1Hz and high-frequency recording data (200 Hz) according to specific transient events. The analysis of these data was grounded in the information theory, introducing entropy as a measure of the information content within the signal. This method makes it possible to evaluate the performance of pressure sensors, including identifying the most sensitive point from daily data and determining the possible errors in data collected from designated pressure sensors.
본 논문에서는 다양한 기상 조건에서 시인성과 내구성을 향상시키도록 설계된 도로 표시용 UV 경화 코팅 시스템 개발을 위해 수행한 연구의 결과를 나타내었다. 제조된 UV 코팅을 사용해 차선 표시의 재귀반사도와 내마모성을 강화하고 포장가속시험(APT), 휠 트래킹 내구성 테스트 등 다양한 테스트를 통해 성능을 평가하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 도로 안전을 위한 야간 시인성 및 미끄럼을 개선하 고자 한다.
Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT) have a strong and stable near-infrared (nIR) fluorescence that can be used to selectively detect target analytes, even at the single molecule level, through changes in either their fluorescence intensity or emission peak wavelength. SWNTs have been employed as NIR optical sensors for detecting a variety of analytes. However, high costs, long fabrication times, and poor distributions limit the current methods for immobilizing SWNT sensors on solid substrates. Recently, our group reported a protocol for SWNT immobilization with high fluorescence yield, longevity, fluorescence distribution, and sensor response, unfortunately this process takes 5 days to complete. Herein we report an improved method to immobilize SWNT sensors that only takes 2 days and results in higher fluorescence intensity while maintaining a high level of SWNT distribution. We performed surface morphology and chemical composition tests on the original and new synthesis methods and compared the sensor response rates. The development of this new method of attaching SWNT sensors to a platform allows for creation of a sensing system in just 2 days without sacrificing the advantageous characteristics of the original, 5-day platforms.
Background: In healthy dentin conditions, odontoblasts have an important role such as protection from invasion of pathogens. In mammalian teeth, progenitors such as mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) can migrate and differentiate into odontoblast-like cells, leading to the formation of reparative dentin. For differentiation using stem cells, it is crucial to provide conditions similar to the complex and intricate in vivo environment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the potential of differentiation into odonto/ osteoblasts, and compare co-culture with/without epithelial cells. Methods: MSCs and epithelial cells were successfully isolated from dental tissues. We investigated the influences of epithelial cells on the differentiation process of dental pulp stem cells into odonto/osteoblasts using co-culture systems. The differentiation potential with/without epithelial cells was analyzed for the expression of specific markers and calcium contents. Results: Differentiated odonto/osteoblast derived from dental pulp tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells with/without epithelial cells were evaluated by qRT-PCR, immunostaining, calcium content, and ALP staining. The expression of odonto/ osteoblast-specific markers, calcium content, and ALP staining intensity were significantly increased in differentiated cells. Moreover, the odonto/osteogenic differentiation capacity with epithelial cells co-culture was significantly higher than without epithelial cells co-culture. Conclusions: These results suggest that odonto/osteogenic differentiation co-cultured with epithelial cells has a more efficient application.
이 연구에서는 CFRP 케이블의 압착형 정착장치의 강종에 따른 피로성능을 평가하였다. 실험결과, CFRP 케이블 압착형 정착시스템은 정착장치의 강종에 상관없이 도로교설계기준의 포스트텐션용 정착 구에 대한 피로시험 조건을 만족시켰다. 그러나 피로시험이후 인장성능 실험에서 SM45C 강종의 정착 장치는 최대내력 도잘전에 케이블과 정착장치 사이에서 미끄러짐이 발생하였으며, 듀플렉스 강종의 정 착장치는 최대 내력 도달과 동시에 CFRP 케이블이 파단되었다.
목적: 라이프스타일 행동에 반영된 가치체계를 측정하기 위한 Yonsei Lifestyle Profile-Values (YLP-V)의 구성타당도와 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 연구방법: 온라인 리서치 기관에 등록된 만 55세 이상의 지역사회 거주 중고령자 및 노인 300명을 대상으로 YLP-V를 사용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 기술통계, 차별기능문항, 요인분석을 실시하였다. 요인분석은 요인구조 추정을 위한 탐색적 요인분석과 4가지 경쟁모델(단일요인, 계층적 요인, 다차원 요인, 이중요인)에 대한 확인적 요인분석을 통해 비교하고 타당성을 확인하였다. 결과: 목표회전을 통한 탐색적 요인분석 결과, YLP-V의 활동(activity, 5문항), 관심(interest, 4문항), 의견 (opinion, 9문항)에서 목표행렬에서 0.4 이상의 부하량을 갖는 것을 확인하였다. 확인적 요인분석 결과, 이중요인 모델(χ2 = 164.58**, degree of freedom = 117, root mean square error of approximation = 0.05, standard root mean residual = 0.04, comparative fit index = 0.95, Turker Lewis index = 0.93)이 가장 우수하게 나타났다. 결론: 라이프스타일에서 미시적 접근이 가능한 YLP-V 개발 근거와 일관성 있는 요인구조를 확인하였다. 이는 YLP-V가 총 18문항의 활동, 관심, 의견에 대한 이중요인 구조로 타당성을 확인하였으며, 건강 라이프스타 일에서 행동에 반영된 가치체계 측정과 이해에서 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
In this research, a new Test and Evaluation (T&E) procedure for defense AI systems is proposed to fill the existing gap in established methodologies. This proposed concept incorporates a data-based performance evaluation, allowing for independent assessment of AI model efficacy. It then follows with an on-site T&E using the actual AI system. The performance evaluation approach adopts the project promotion framework from the defense acquisition system, outlining 10 steps for R&D projects and 9 steps for procurement projects. This procedure was crafted after examining AI system testing standards and guidelines from both domestic and international civilian sectors. The validity of each step in the procedure was confirmed using real-world data. This study's findings aim to offer insightful guidance in defense T&E, particularly in developing robust T&E procedures for defense AI systems.
In this study, the evaluation items related to the effectiveness evaluation of the LVC (Live, Virtual, Constructive) training system of the Air Force were derived and the weights of each item were analyzed. The LVC training system evaluation items for AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis were divided into three layers, and according to the level, 3 items were derived at level 1, 11 items at level 2, and 33 items at level 3. For weight analysis of evaluation items, an AHP-based pairwise comparison questionnaire was conducted for Air Force experts related to the LVC training system. As a result of the survey, related items such as (1) Achievement of education and training goals (53.8%), (1.2) Large-scale mission and operational performance (25.5%), and (1.2.1) Teamwork among training participants (19.4%) was highly rated. Also, it was confirmed that the weights of evaluation items were not different for each expert group, that is, the priority for importance was evaluated in the same order between the policy department and the working department. Through these analysis results, it will be possible to use them as evaluation criteria for new LVC-related projects of the Air Force and selection of introduction systems.
