        This study was carried out to explore the accuracy of near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) for the prediction of chemical and fermentation parameters of whole crop winter rye silages. A representative population of 216 fresh winter rye silages was used as database for studying the possibilities of NIRS to predict chemical composition and fermentation parameters. Samples of silage were scanned at 1 nm intervals over the wavelength range 680~2,500 nm and the optical data recorded as log 1/Reflectance (log 1/R) and scanned in fresh condition. NIRS calibrations were developed by means of partial least-squares (PLS) regression. NIRS analysis of fresh winter rye silages provided accurate predictions of moisture, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), crude protein (CP) and pH as well as lactic acid content with correlation coefficients of cross-validation (R2cv) of 0.96, 0.86, 0.79, 0.85, 0.82 and 0.78 respectively and standard error of cross-validation (SECV) of 1.89, 2.02, 2.79, 1.14, 1.47 and 0.46 % DM respectively. Results of this experiment showed the possibility of NIRS method to predict the chemical parameters of winter rye silages as routine analysis method in feeding value evaluation and for farmer advice.

        The objective of this study was to determine the best performing switchgrass (Panicumvirgatum L.) cultivar with three different seeding dates as a bioenergy source in Republic of Korea. Split-plot in time with three replications was performed and three switchgrass cultivars, Carthage (CT), Cave-in-Rock (CIR), and Forestburg (FB) were used in this experiment from 2009 to 2012. Plots were seeded on April 23, May 4, and May 13, 2009 and were harvested once in November each year. No fertilizer was applied to the field for the first year; however, in second and third years (June 2010 and May 2011, respectively), N, P2O5 and K2O fertilizers were applied in 67,45 and 90 kg ha-1, respectively. Soil pH (5.9) and climate condition including temperature (10.4∼17.5℃) and precipitation (89.4~109.8 mm month-1) were suitable for switchgrass cultivation. Total dry matter yields were higher in CT and CIR compared to FB and were 16.9, 15.9, and 4.5 ton ha-1, for CT, CIR, and FB, respectively (p<0.0001). The samples were analyzed for dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), crude fiber (CF), ether extract (EE), and ash. No significant differences in energy content (p = 0.96) and chemical composition among cultivars (p>0.05) were found. Seeding dates did not affect DM yield (ton ha-1), chemical composition and energy content significantly (p>0.05). Significant difference was observed for heights among CT, CIR, and FB (177.59, 169.98, and 94.89 cm, respectively, p = 0.0002). In conclusion, based on soil characteristics and climate condition in Korea compared to other countries, switchgrass can be cultivated successfully. Considering dry matter yield and energy content of these three cultivars of switchgrass CT and CIR adapted better to climate in Middle Eastern of Republic of Korea than Forestburg for bioenergy purpose.

        본 연구는 팽이버섯 수확 후 배지에 3% 개미산 처리와 당밀 첨가수준별(0%, 2%, 4%, 6%)로 각각 25일 및 45일 동안 발효시켰을 때, 화학적 조성과 반추위내 in situ 분해율을 조사함으로써 반추가축용사료로서 적절한 처리방법을 규명해보고자 수행되었다. 반추위 cannula가 장착된 한우암소 3두(평균체중 450kg)를 이용하여 반추위내 발효시간별(0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 24, 48 시간)로 각각 3반복으로 in situ 시험을 실시하였으며, 공시축은 시판 배합사료와 볏짚을 4:1의 비율로 섭취하였다. 개미산 처리 후 당밀을 첨가하여 발효시킨 팽이버섯 수확 후 배지의 pH는 4이하이었으며, 일반성분함량으로 볼 때, 중국산 대두피정도의 수준이었다. 시험사료의 건물 중, 반추위내에서 분해가 빠르게 일어나는 ‘a’부분은 당밀첨가수준이 높아질수록 증가하는 경향이었고, 반추위내에서 서서히 분해될 수 있는 ‘b’부분은 25일 동안 발효 시에는 당밀4% 첨가구에서 높았으며, 45일동안 발효 시에는 당밀 6% 첨가구에서 높게 나타났다. 건물의 유효분해도(r=0.06)는 평균 45%로 처리간 비슷한 수준이었다. 시험사료의 NDF 중 ‘b’부분은 25일 동안 발효 시에는 당밀 6%첨가구가 타 처리구에 비해 낮았으나 45일 동안 발효 시에는 당밀 6%첨가구에서 높았다. 당밀 6%첨가구에서 시간당 NDF 분해속도가 가장 느렸으며, NDF의 반추위내 유효분해도는 평균 39%(r=0.06)로 처리간 비슷한 수준이었다. 이상의 결과로 볼 때, 본 시험에 사용된 팽이버섯 수확후 배지는 반추가축용 사료로서 보관성 향상을 위하여 탈병 후 3% 개미산(HCOOH)만 처리하여 혐기발효시켜도 무방할 것으로 판단된다.

        The objective of this study was to investigate meat quality and nutritional composition of 10 cuts (loin, striploin, chuck roll, chuck tender, short plate, brisket, bottom round, top sirloin, eye of round, and top round) from quality grade 1 beef from 11 Hanwoo steers at Hanwoo Experimental Station of National Institute of Animal Science. The protein contents were higher in top round (Udoon) and eye of round (Hongduke) and lower in loin (Dngsim) and short plate (Abjin) when compared to the other cuts (p<0.05). Whereas the intramuscular fat contents were highest in loin (12.51%), those were lowest in top round (4.14%) (p<0.05). The calories were higher in loin and short plate and lower in top round, chuck tender (Guri), top sirloin (Bosup), eye of round, chuck roll (Moksim), and bottom round (Sulgit) (p<0.05). The cooking loss (%) was 24.38% in loin and it was lower than the other cuts (p<0.05). The bottom round had higher water holding capacity (WHC) and chuck tender had lower WHC than those in the other cuts (p<0.05). In meat color, L* values were higher in loin and lower in top round than the other cuts (p<0.05). Total saturated fatty acid contents were higher in loin and lower in bottom round than the other cuts (p<0.05). In amino acid compositions, top round had significantly higher than those in the other cuts (p<0.05). The iron contents were higher in chuck tender and chuck roll contained higher iron contents than those of the other cuts (p<0.05). In conclusion, the meat quality and nutritional properties were significantly different among 10 cuts in the same quality grade of Hanwoo beef. Therefore, the provision of the meat quality and nutritional information of 10 cuts to consumers could be important for utilization and balanced consumption of different cuts.

        This study was conducted to establish the optimized protocol for cytoplasm isolation of bee pollen. Data of biochemical parameters and amino acid profiles were obtained from acorn pollen grains treated with pulverization or lyophilization. Contents of moisture, ash, crude protein and crude fat of acorn pollen were 11.7%, 2.6%, 24.1% and 11.8%, respectively. After pulverizing, content of crude protein was decreased to 23.8% while crude fat was 22.5% which means 90% increase. Also content of crude protein was increased to 26.5% in case of the lyophilized pollen. Amino acids such as aspartic acid, glutamic acid, leucine and arginine were extensively found in acorn pollen while histidine, methionine and cystine were infrequent. The pulverized pollen was increased by 2.6% in the total amino acid percentage while the lyophilized pollen increased by 11.8% compared to the untreated pollen.

        This work was conducted to assess the use of Near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy (NIRS) as a technique to analyze nutritional constituents of Distillers dried grain with solubles (DDGS) and corn quickly and accurately, and to apply an NIRS-based indium gallium arsenide array detector, rather than a NIRS-based scanning system, to collect spectra and induce and analyze calibration equations using equipment which is better suited to field application. As a technique to induce calibration equations, Partial Least Squares (PLS) was used, and for better accuracy, various mathematical transformations were applied. A multivariate outlier detection method was applied to induce calibration equations, and, as a result, the way of structuring a calibration set significantly affected prediction accuracy. The prediction of nutritional constituents of distillers dried grains with solubles resulted in the following: moisture (R2=0.80), crude protein (R2=0.71), crude fat (R2=0.80), crude fiber (R2=0.32), and crude ash (R2=0.72). All constituents except crude fiber showed good results. The prediction of nutritional constituents of corn resulted in the following: moisture (R2=0.79), crude protein (R2=0.61), crude fat (R2=0.79), crude fiber (R2=0.63), and crude ash (R2=0.75). Therefore, all constituents except for crude fat and crude fiber were predicted for their chemical composition of DDGS and corn through Near-infrared reflectance spectroscopy.

A representative population of 284 fresh whole crop barley silages was used as a database for studying the possibilities of NIRS to predict chemical composition. Samples of silage were scanned at 1 nm intervals over the wavelength range 680~2,500 nm and the optical data were recorded as log 1/Reflectance (log 1/R) and were scanned in fresh condition. NIRS calibrations were developed by means of partial least-squares (PLS) regression.         제주지역 참다래 과원의 영양진단을 통해 참다래 수체 내 영양상태를 파악하여 시비기 준을 설정하기 위해 제주지역의 참다래 과원 110 곳의 토양과 참다래 잎을 조사하였다. 참다래 수체의 영양진단을 위한 엽채취 시기는 엽내 성분 함량이 가장 안정된 시기인 7 월 중순~8월초가 가장 적당하였다. 참다래 엽내 무기성분 평균함량은 질소 2.74, 인산 0.20, 칼륨 1.91, 칼슘 1.91, 마그네슘 0.51% ,철 147.0, 망간 160.1, 아연 54.0mg/kg 이었다. 엽내 무기성분 함량의 예상 임계치를 설정하여 정상 범위를 구한 결과, 질소는 2.5~3.0, 인산은 0.16~ 0.24, 칼륨은 1.80~2.44, 칼슘은 1.95~2.63, 마그네슘은 0.39~0.63%였다. 제주지역 참다래원 토양의 이화학성은 pH 5.46, 유기물 9.69%, 유효 인산 220.7 mg/kg, 치환성 칼륨 1.1, 칼슘 4.1, 마그네슘 1.48 c㏖/kg, 양이온 치환용 량 16.18 c㏖c/kg이었다.

        Opal glass samples having different chemical compositions were synthesized and transparent glass was obtained after melting. The effects of TiO2, BaF2, and CeO2 content on the color of the opal glass were studied by observing images of the opal samples and analyzing the results via ultraviolet visible spectroscopy and color spectrometry. The aesthetic properties of the opal glass were determined by studying the transmittance of visible light in the 400 nm to 700 nm range. The basic chemical composition of opal glass was SiO2 52.9 wt%, Al2O3 12.35 wt%, Na2CO3 15.08 wt%, K2CO3 10.35 wt%, Ca3(PO)4 4.41 wt%, MgCO3 1.844 wt%, LiCO3 2.184 wt%, and TiO2 0.882 wt%. The glass samples were prepared by varying the weight percentage of TiO2, BaF2, and CeO2. The transmittance of visible light was decreased from 95 % to 75 % in the glass samples in which TiO2 content was increased from 0 to 3.882 wt%. In the blue spectrum region, as the content of TiO2 increased, the reflectance value was observed to become higher. This implies that TiO2 content induces more crystal formation and has an important effect on the optical properties of the glass. The opalescence of opal samples that contained CeO2 or BaF2 is stronger than that in the samples containing TiO2. Opal glass samples comprising TiO2 had tetragonal lattice structures; samples including CeO2 as an additive had cubic lattice structures (FCC, CeO2).

        본 연구는 팽이버섯 수확후배지를 효율적으로 이용하기 위하여 출수기의 수수 총체사일리지 제조 시 에너지원으로 사용하고자 수행되었다. 팽이버섯 수확 후 배지의 첨가비율은 원물기준으로 20%, 40% 및 60%로 하고 사일리지 발효기간을 0, 3, 6 및 9주로 하여 총 12처리를 두었으며 각 처리 당 3반복으로 비닐이 내장된 플라스틱 통에 제조하였다. 수수 사일리지 제조 시 팽이버섯 수확후배지의 첨가수준과 발효기간에 따른 발효특성과 사료적 가치를 평가한 결과는 다음과 같다. 사일리지 원료인 출수기 수수와 팽이버섯 수확후배지의 수분함량은 각각 83.8%와 54.3%였으며 팽이버섯 수확후배지를 20%(S-20), 40%(S-40), 60%(S-60) 첨가한 수수 사일리지의 수분함량은 각각 78%, 71%, 68%였고 S-20의 수분함량이 일반적인 수준보다 높았다. 팽이버섯 수확후배지 첨가 사일리지의 조지방 함량은 사일리지 충진 직후(0주)에 비해 저장 발효하는 동안 약 2배 이상 증가하였다(P<0.05). 팽이버섯 수확후배지 첨가비율에 따른 수수 사일리지의 pH는 평균 4.33수준이었으며 S-40구가 발효에 의한 pH의 감소폭이 큰 편이었다. 사일리지의 유산 함량은 S-40구에서 높은 편이었고 타 처리구에서는 저장기간이 길어짐에 따라 감소하는 경향이었으며 초산과 프로피온산 함량은 처리구와 발효기간에 따른 영향이 없었다. 사일리지 품질평가 기준으로 사용되고 있는 Flieg’s score는 60∼83점이였고 9주 동안 발효시킨 S-60구의 품질이 상대적으로 나빴던 반면 9주 동안 발효시킨 S-40구에서 우수한 사일리지가 제조되었다. 이상의 결과들을 종합해 볼 때, 수수 사일리지의 에너지 공급원으로서 팽이버섯 수확후배지의 적정 첨가비율은 원물기준으로 40%정도인 것으로 판단된다.

        경남 남해에서 재배되고 있는 섬애쑥의 식품 및 기능성 소재로서의 활용도 제고를 위하여 화학성분을 분석하였다. 섬애쑥의 일반성분을 잎, 줄기 및 뿌리 부위별로 조사한 결과 조단백질은 각각 19.87, 6.14, 5.68%로 나타났고, 조지방은 4.56, 1.30, 1.20%이었으며, 조섬유는 16.80, 29.70, 29.45%로 나타났다. 섬애쑥의 주요 무기성분은 K, Ca, Mg으로 나타났으며, 잎에서 K과 Ca의 함량이 각각 4,270.24, 617.64 mg/100g으로 뿌리보다 2배 이상 높은 함량을 나타내었다. 유리당은 잎과 뿌리에는 sucrose와 glucose 가, 줄기에서는 glucose와 fructose가 검출되었다. 총아미노산은 17종이 분리되었으며, 잎의 총아미노산함량이 4,864.11 mg/100g으로 가장 높았으며, 줄기는 1,953.99mg/100g, 뿌리는 1,601.73mg/100g 순으 로 나타났다. 부위별 주요아미노산으로 잎과 줄기에서는 proline(963.91 및 407.52mg/100g)과 aspartic acid(577.38 및 299.17mg/100g)이었고, 뿌리에서는 glutamic acid(206.34mg/100g)와 arginine(193.23 mg/100g)이 가장 높게 함유되어 있었다. 지방산 조성을 분석한 결과 잎, 줄기 및 뿌리 모두 linoleic acid(C18:2), behenic acid(C22:0) 및 palmitic acid(C16:0)가 주요 지방산으로 나타났으며, 생리활성 성분으로서의 부위별 eupatilin과 jaceosidin 함량은 잎에서 35.0과 107.63mg/100g으로 줄기와 뿌리보다 높은 함량을 보였다.

        Sea-buckthorn fruits (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) are used in Mongolia as traditional medicine due to the health-benefits associated with its bioactive components. The purpose of this study was to investigate the chemical composition of Mongolian sea-buckthorn fruits. In terms of proximate composition, crude fat content was the highest, whereas its crude ash content was the lowest. In organic acid contents, malic acid content ( mg/g) was the highest. Free sugars were composed of sucrose, xylose, glucose and mannitol. Vitamin C and carotenoid content were 320 mg/100 g and 715.25 mg/100 g, respectively. The major fatty acids were palmitic (C16:0), palmitoleic (C16:1), caprylic (C8:0) and linoleic (C18:2) acid.

        본 연구는 하동지역의 녹차에 대해 근적외선 분광분석법(Near Infrared Spectroscopy, NIRS)을 이용하여 채취시기별 화학적 성분(총질소, 엽록소, 탄닌, 유리아미노산, 데아닌, 비타민 C, 카페인, 카테킨류, 총카테킨) 및 무기물 성분 변화에 대하여 분석하였다. 녹차의 화학적 성분 함량에 있어 엽록소, 탄닌, 비타민 C와 총카테킨 함량은 채취시기가 늦어질수록 증가한 반면, 총질소, 유리아미노산, 데아닌, 카페인 등은 대체로 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 무기물 함량은 채취시기가 늦어질수록 Mg, Ca, Mn은 증가하였으나 Na, K, B는 감소하였다. 또한 우전과 세작의 화학성분 중 총질소, 엽록소, 유리아미노산, 데아닌, 카페인, 총카테킨과 무기물 중 Na, Mg, Ca, B, Se 함량에 있어서는 차이를 나타내지 않았다.
