        본시험은 5개 기주식물(뽕나무버즘나무미류나무네군도나무 및 사과나무)의 NitrogenPhosphorusPotassium 및 Sugar함량이 흰불나방의(Hyphantria cunea DRURY) 유충기간용기간용체중자아의 포난수 및 에 대한 감응도에 미치는 영향을 조사연구하기 위해 시행되었다. 그 시험결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 공시 기주식물엽의 NitrogenPhosphorusPotassiuln 및 Sugar함양은 기주의 종류와 화기(1화기와 2화기)에 따라 각각 상이한 차가 있었다(표 1). (2) 1, 2화기 유충기간과 용기간은 비교적 N의 함량이 많은 뽕나무에서 짧았고 그렇지 않은 사과나무에서 가장 긴 경향이었으며, 1화기보다 2화기에서 더 짧아졌다. 이들은 기주의 N함량과 유의성은 인정할 수 없었으나(1화기 유충기간은 제외), 비교적 높은 부의 상관을 나타낸 것으로 보아 P·K 및 Sugar에 비하여 크게 관여한 것 같았다. (3) 용체중과 포난수에 있어서도 (2)의 경우와 마찬가지로 기주의 종류, 자웅의 성 및 화기에 따라 현저한 차이가 있었다(표 3). 용체중은 N의 함량이 많은 뽕나무에서 역시 가장 높았고 그렇지 않은 사과나무에서 가장 낮았으며, 자아당 평균 포란수에 있어서도 용체중의 경향과 비슷하였다. 용체중이나 포난수의 경우나 영양과의 관계는 유의한 상관을 인정할 수 없었으나 크게 관여한 것은 N의 함량으로 생각되었다. (4) 에 대한 천불나방유충의 내약력은 기주의 종류에 따라 현저한 차가 있었으며, 그 감응도는 네군도나무미류나무버즘나무사과나무뽕나무 순으로 강하였다(표 6). 역시 유의한 상관을 인정할 수는 없었으나 N·P 및 Sugar보다 K의 함량이 많은 기주 일수록 에 대한 유충의 내약력이 강한 경향을 나타내었다.

        This study was carried out to determine the effect of Kluyvera sp. CL-2 (KACC 91283P) on the growth of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris L.). The study consisted of three treatments, no treatment (NT), twice application of Kluyvera sp. CL-2 before transplanting (KC1), and five times application around transplanting (KC2). We determined the chemical properties of soil before and after the treatments, and compared the growth characteristics of watermelon among treatments. The treatment of Kluyvera sp. CL-2 at 1.0×106 cfu mL-1 significantly increased available P2O5. The organic matter showed to increase for all treatments, while soil pH, exchangeable Ca and Mg tended to decrease for all treatments. The leaf width was increased by 11.6% for KC1 and 26.2% for KC2 compared to NT. But there were no significant differences in yield, leaf length, fruit weight, fruit length, fruit width, and pericarp thickness among treatments. The contents of free sugars such as fructose and glucose were increased by microbial treatments but sucrose was not different from NT. The content of glucose in watermelon was increased by 13.8% in KC1 and 12.8% in KC2 compared to NT. The content of fructose increased by 14.6% in KC1 and by 39.8% in KC2 compared to NT. The results from the study imply that Kluyvera sp. CL-2 can be used to increase sugar content in watermelon.

        Background : Rehmannia glutinosa root (R. root) has been used as traditional medicine, and is important resource for natural medicines and functional foods. However, R. root have catalpol which have bitterness, and undigested sugars, including stachyose, raffinose, and verbascose as main compounds, and these compounds can cause diarrhea and abdominal pain. Therefore, this study was performed to determine the changes in reducing sugar producted from undigested sugars and catalpol contents as a bitter taste compound in R. root with aging treatment conditions. Methods and Results : R. root was treated at 10 - 70℃ for 0 - 48 h, and extracted with 50% ethanol solution. Their catalpol content was analyzed using HPLC-UVD, reducing sugar content generated from undigested sugars was measured by the Nelson-Somogyi methods, and these reaction rates were calculated from their variation according to aging time and temperature. During aging treatment, reducing sugar content increased and catalpol content decreased. Their formation and degradation rates were highest at 50℃ and 30 - 40℃, and their rates were 1.89 ㎎/g·h and 23.09 - 23.33%/h, respectively. Conclusion : These results indicated that aging treatment can positively affect the sweetness and digestibility of R. root slurry. Therefore, aging treatment could be considered for improving the sensory qualities and digestibility of R. root.

        우리나라 캠벨얼리 포도주의 발효 중 효모 천이단계에서 분리된 당 내성 토착형 효모 균주 S. cerevisiae S13과 D8 균주로 MBA 포도주를 발효하여 그 특성을 산업용 포도주 효모 W-3 균주와 비교하였다. 토착형 효모 두 균주의 경우 발효초기 가용성 고형분의 감소 및 알코올 생성이 다소 지연되었으나 발효 종료 후 D8 포도주는 12.4%, S13 포도주는 11.8%로서 대조균주 W-3 포도주의 12.0%와 알코올 함량이 유사하거나 다소 높았다. Malic acid의 함량의 경우 D8 포도주는 W-3 포도주와 유사한 수준을 나타내었으나 S13 포도주는 W-3 포도주의 약 71.9% 수준으로 매우 낮았다. 아세트알데히드, 메탄올, 프로판올, 이소프로판올, 이소아밀알코올 등의 함량 역시 D8 포도주와 S13 포도주 모두가 W-3 포도주보다 매우 낮게 나타났다. 특히 메탄올의 함량은 S13 포도주가 98.6 mg/L, D8 포도주가 112.0 mg/L로서 W-3 포도주의 192.8 mg/L에 비하여 각각 51.1%, 58.1%의 낮은 수준을 나타내었다. 또한 색도를 나타내는 L, a, b 값은 S13, D8 포도주 모두에서 W-3포도주보다 낮게 나타났으며 관능평가 결과 색에 있어서 S13 포도주가 W-3 포도주보다 다소 높은 점수를 얻었으나 통계적으로 유의적인 차이는 보이지 않았다.

        This experiment was carried out in order to collect the basic data on the standardization of the manufacturing process of Rehmannia glutinosa Libosch. var. purpurea Makino drying. By the drying methods of R. glutinosa, the content of water, inorganic components, reducing sugar, catalpol and benzo[α]pyrene were investigated. The water content was 15.6~17.2% when R. glutinosa was dried by cold-warm air moisture absorption drying method (CAMAD) at 60℃ during 6 days. Among of the inorganic components of R. glutinosa the K content was the most followed by P, Na, Ca and Mg. The reducing sugar content of R. glutinosa by the hot air drying method (HAD) was much more than that by the CAMAD. The catalpol content of R. glutinosa was not different by the drying temperature when it was dried by the CAMAD. The catalpol content of the large size tuber (about 50.0 g/unit) showed a tendency to increase from 60℃ until 70℃ drying temperature, but that of the small size tuber(about 4.0 g/unit) was decreased as being a trend as the drying temperature high when R. glutinosa was dried by the HAD, But the catalpol content R. glutinosa had a tendency to drop significantly at drying temperature above 80℃. The benzo[α]pyrene content was little detected when R. glutinosa was dried by both the SLD and the CAMAD, and the sampling by the HAD indicated within the scope of 5 μg/kg which was the scope to regulate by Korean food and drug administration. In conclusion, it seemed that an appropriate drying temperature of R. glutinosa by the CAMAD and the HAD was about 60℃ and about 70℃, respectively, when we consider the catalpol content and benzo[α]pyrene detection in the manufacturing process of drying R. glutinosa.

        A new garden pea cultivar, Daehyup 2, was developed at the Yeongnam Agricultural Research Institute (YARI) in 2006. It was selected from the cross between Olwandu and Sachulwandu in 1996. The preliminary, advanced, and regional yield trials for evaluation and selection of this cultivar were carried out from 2003 to 2006. It has white flower, yellow cotyledon, absent or very weakly curved pod shape and yellow seed color. It was resistant to virus and powdery mildew disease. The 100 green seed weight of Daehyup 2 was 65.5 g, which was 8.9 g heavier than check cultivar. The sucrose and total sugar contents of fresh pod of Daehyup 2 were 11.1% and 12.5%, respectively, which were 3.2% and 4.3% higher than those of Sachulwandu. The fresh pod yield of Daehyup 2 was similar to that of Sachulwandu with 12.16 ton per hectare in the regional yield trials carried out in three locations of Korea from 2005 to 2006.

        Tuberous roots of yacon (Polymnia sonchifolia Poeppig & Endlicher) were stored in different temperature and relative humidity conditions after curing for 30 days. Non-decadent percentage, moisture contents, brix degree and sugars were investigated. Whether temperature and relative humidity were high or not, most of the tuberous root decayed during storage, and the decayed percentage was increased as long as the storage period. In final, only 13% of tuberous roots remain intact at 4~circC , 85% relative humidity condition to be appeared best storage condition in this experiment and all of the tuberous root decayed in other storage conditions after 6 months. Moisture contents decreased a little in the high relative humidity. Even though tuberous roots decayed when stored at 10~circC and 20~circC , most of brix degree reached about 17.0. Fructose, glucose and sucrose contents were 1.65, 1.15 and 0.35% at early storage period, and 1.6, 1.1 and 0.5% after 6 months at 4~circC , 85% relative humidity, respectively. In 3 temperature conditions, fructose and glucose increased for a month and then decreased successively afterwards, but sucrose increased gradually during 6 months. Also in 4 relative humidity conditions, fructose, glucose and sucrose contents were changed with similar to that of in temperature. Changes of fructose and glucose were the same except on 4~circC , 85% relative humidity, that was lower level than moisture of tuberous root.

        This study was carried out to determine the optimum harvest date of unshelled immature peanuts and dried kernels from 60 to 120 days after flowering. Fresh pod yield of spanish-type variety, 'Shaedl-tangkong(SD)' reached a peak of 9,140kg/ ha at 70 (days after flowering(Aug. 13) while that of virginia-type variety, 'Daepoongtangkong(DP)' reached a peak of 8,820kg/ha at 90 days(Sept. 11) after flowering. SD and DP showed maximum fresh kernel yield of 6,090 and 6,470kg/ha at 90 days after flowering (Sept. 11), respectively, while dry kernel yield reached a peak of 3,300 and 3,720kg/ha at 110 days(Oct. 1), respectively. Oil content of SD and DP were the highest at 90 days and 100 days after flowering, respectively and the oil content of two varieties increased rapidly from 60 to 90 days. Tannin content of the seed hull of SD increased continuously until 110 days after flowering while that of DP maximized at 100 days. The tannin content of the two varieties increased rapidly from 60 to 100 days. Total sugar of SD and DP showed highest content at 60 days and 70 days after flowering, respectively and suger content decreased very rapidly until 80 days and after that sugar content kept nearly constant. Oil, tannin and total sugar content of spanish-type SD were higher than those of virginia-type DP.

        Total carotenoid contents, color values and spectrum characterization in the range of UV of fruit juice and organic acid and free sugar contents determined by HPLC were investigated on 10 varieties of Cheju citrus fruits. Carotenoid contents of juice were 0.47-9.20/ml which showed higher with Dangyooja while showed lowest content with Meiwa Kumquat. Lightness (L) of juice was highest in Meiwa Kumquat, and in the order of Sankyool, Navel orange and Hungjin. Redness(a) and yellowness(b) were in the order of Dangyooja, Natsudaidai, Sambokam and Kinkoji. The maximum absorption wavelengths if citrus Juices were variable at 269.5-285.5nm according to varieties and it was observed that were changed by mixing with Juices of other varieties. Major organic acids of citrus juice were citric and malic acid, and citric acid was 64.4-95.1% of total organic acids. Ascorbic acid was high in Navel orange, Sudachi and Dangyooja, and low in Meiwa Kumquat and Hungjin. Major free sugars were sucrose, glucose and fructose. Sucrose was 49.2-75.2% of total free sugars, and high in Sankyool and Meiwa Kumquat. Glucose and fructose were high in Meiwa Kumquat and Navel Orange.

        발아후 일주일간 생육한 보리 유식물체를 이용하여 혐기처리, 저온처리 및 기계적 상처에 대한 보리 식물체의 반응양상을 유리아미노산과 유리당 함량의 변화를 분석하여 조사하였다. 혐기적처리에 반응하여 함량의 변화가 뚜렸하게 나타나는 아미노산은 alanine, GABA, glutamic acid였다. Alanlne과 GABA함량은 10시간까지의 혐기처리에 의해 급속히 증가하였으나 glutamic acid 함량은 크게 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 상처에 의한 alanine, GABA, glutamic acid반응 양상은 혐기처리와 유사하였으나, 함량변화 정도는 혐기처리에서 보다 훨씬 낮았다. 저온처리에 의하여 지상부와 뿌리 중의 GABA 함량이 증가하였다. 혐기적 처리에 의하여 지상부의 유리당함량이 변화하였으며, glucose나 fructose보다는 sucrose의 함량변화가 상대적으로 크게 나타났다

        풋찰옥수수의 수확적기를 구명하기 위하여 1984년 수원과 청주에서 홍천재래을 공시하여 출사(수원에서는 수분)후 15일부터 40일까지 5일 간격으로 6회에 걸쳐 수확하여 종실의 발육, 수분 및 전당함량, 삶은 옥수수의 맛, 찰기, 경도 등을 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 입장과 입폭은 출사후 15일부터 30일까지 크게 증가하였고 그 후 다소의 증가에 그쳤으며 입후는 출사 20일 이후 거의 증가되지 않았다. 2. 생체 100립중은 출사후 30일까지 크게 증가된 반면 그 후에는 다소의 증가에 그치였고 건물 100립중은 출사후 15일부터 40일까지 거의 직선적인 증가를 보였다. 3. 종실의 수분함량은 성숙정도가 진전됨에 따라 직선적인 감소를 보였다. 전당함량은 출사후 20일에 가장 않았고 그 후 감소되었다. 4. 맛과 찰기는 출사후 15일부터 30일까지 크게 증가되었고 맛은 그 후 감소되었으나 찰기는 출사후 35일까지 같은 수준을 유지하였다가 그 후 다소 감소되었다. 식용에 알맞는 경도는 출사후 30∼35일 이었다.

        수광율의 차이가 인삼엽내의 saponin과 유리당함량 및 Panaxatriol(PT)/Panaxadiol(PD) 비에 미치는 영향을 구명코자 수광량이 자연광의 5, 10, 20, 30%의 수광율(LTR) 하에서 자란 4년생 인삼엽에서 이들을 조사하였던 바 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. Ginsenoside별 함량은 PD계 사로닌에서는 -Rd가 가장 많았고, PT계 사포닌에서는 -Re, Rg1 , -Rg2 순으로 많았다. 2. Total 사포닌과 PT계 사로닌함량과 PT/PD의 비는 20% LTP까지 수광율이 많을수록 증가되다가 30% LTR에서는 약간 감소되었고, PD계 사포닌 함량은 수광율이 증가할수록 많아졌다. 3. Glucose, Fluctose 함량은 20% LTR에서 가장 많았으나 sucrose함량은 오히려 20% LTR에서 가장 적었다. 4. Total 사포닌 함량과 Glucose함량간에는 정(+)의 상관(r=0.992**)이 인정되었다.
