In this study, finite element analysis was performed to analyze the load carrying capacity of corroded plate girder. Consequently, web buckling load indicated drastic reduction in corrosion thickness less than 1 millimeters. Therefore, if the plate girder is seriously corroded to time of drastic reduction of web buckling load, it will need appropriate maintenance and reinforcement to guarantee of safety.
Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries has developed the port facility management system(POMS) that can be run systematically manage safety inspection and maintenance results about the mooring facilities, counter facilities and pier pavement in a national 60 port. This paper contains a description of the POMS.
Because stage cable-bridge have long spans and large members, their movements and geometrical changes by temperatures tend to be bigger than those of small or medium-size bridge. Therefore, it is important for maintenance engineers to monitor and assess the effect to temperature on the cable-supported bridges. To evaluate how much the superstructure expands or contracts when subjected to changes in temperature is the first step for the maintenance. Thermal movements of a cable-stayed bridge in service are evaluated by using long-term temperatures and displacements data.
This study was conducted for the development of degradation model for the coated steel member in the atmospheric environment. Field inspection data was assessed against the existing evaluation factors which were proposed by the related research process. A correlation between evaluated degradation score and service life of coated steel member was plotted on the graph, and degradation of the coated steel member could be evaluated by quantitative analysis method.
In this study, quartile control chart method is tried to apply to determine limit values of existing dams of K-water’s instrumentation data for dam safety, show asymmetric distributed data, and the example of application is presented. The determined limit values of concrete stress meter and concrete non-stress meter by Shewhart method and quartile method show that the determined limit values by Shewhart method indicate that the majority of instrumentation are on abnormal condition, although the measured values are normal behavior. But, in case of the result of quartile method has such an error. Like this, it is judged that the determination of the limit values of dam instrumentation, show asymmetric and abnormal distributed data, by the quartile method is appropriate. Therefor The quartile method is applied to the determination of limit values of existing dam instrumentation of K-water.

In this study, we use the general national road's bridge format information to carry out the efficient maintenance services. Especially maintenance method of the operating new-type girder bridges is treated by collecting the information of them
In this study, the specific 3-dimensional plant model is developed to check the physical interference of structures and components which cross each other, and to reduce the interference errors occurred between interconnecting parts. Based on 3D model, the construction schedule is reviewed by 4D simulation to avoid construction activity overlapping. Also, the layout simulation of a large capacity crane is implemented to relieve interference on the run-time of a large capacity crane.
In this study, we analyzed the effect of the drainage slope to collapse. The presence of drainage has a low correlation with the collapse of the slope. But drainage of the drainage has an important role in preventing the decay slope. Therefore, the drain state is very important in order to evaluate the drainage.
For reinforced soil slopes with anchors, additional slope reinforcement using anchors is highly difficult due to their interference with previously installed anchors. This case study presents the applicability of high pressure jet nail for the reinforcement of slopes where additional reinforcement is needed due to the loss of tensile force in the anchors.
Improved measurement and structural modeling analysis of result, an improved method is very efficient. The difference of about 10~15% comes out, Improved measurement and structural modeling analysis of result, it is determined that the need for additional research, such as a change of the modeling subdivision, load contions.
In this study, we grasp the present conditions of ‘Large-scale Slope’ located on the national highway and analysis countermeasure method applied collapsed slopes during the past three years. Through this analysis, we can find suitable Countermeasure Method by collapse mode, and utilize as a reference data when maintenance the slopes.
This study measured the in-plane and out-of-plane deflections of a beam using image processing technology. The deflections and rotation obtained from the vision-based measurement were compared with those from the traditional, current measurement method using three wired potentiometers. The results of this study indicated that the proposed vision-based measurement system was successfully applied to evaluating the out-of-plane deflections of a beam including the vertical in-plane deflection.
This study is to be suggest the optimal mat foundation mixing design of high strength concrete by using fly ash and retarding admixture. This study applied retarding admixture to high strength concrete over 40MPa, and tested the mechanical properties of concrete according to binder content(385∼415kg/㎥), fly ash substitution rate(0~25%), and adding rate of retarding admixture(0~1.2%) As a results, For the concrete to be applied to lower part of mat foundation, it is suitable to substitute FA 25% with binder contents 385kg/㎥ and to apply the mixing with adding retarding admixture 1% in order to repress hydration heat and to cast concrete at once through congelation delay. As a result of experiments of adiabatic temperature rising, coefficients of adiabatic temperature rising K and α were 40.68 and 1.08 for retarding-type concrete and 42.8 and 1.13 for standard concrete, respectively, under the condition of initial concrete temperature about 19℃. In the identical temperature condition, differences of adiabatic temperature rising speed according to use of retarding admixture were not different, and maximum value of adiabatic temperature rising of retarding-type concrete was lower than standard concrete. Concrete behaves as a brittle material with low tensile strain capacity. By adding fibers, the cracking in concrete matrix is controlled, and the durability is improved. In this study, the microstructure and Chloride diffusion resistance of fiber reinforced concrete are compared with fiber type and fiber volume fraction. From the results, the fiber mixed in concrete must be at least 0.5% regardless fiber type, in order to ensure the chloride diffusion coefficient higher than OPC at 91days. However, the micro structure distribution is affected with fiber volume fraction and fiber type at range 10~100nm.
In construction sites there are many cases that concrete is cured in a dry condition, without being moistured, after form have been removed. Consequently such curing condition causes cracks on concrete. In this study is to observe when applied ERCO(Emulsified Refined Cooking Oil) coating on concrete surfaces after removal of form, affects water evaporation and Shrinkage of high-strength mortar.
The properties of bubble in lightweight concrete shows a difference depending on the ingredient and amount of foaming agent. To select foaming agent which is suitable for the purpose, it is essential to conduct a basic study to find the right properties of bubble.
Palm Oil Fuel Ash(POFA), Agricultural by-product, has been studied in especially ASEAN countries. However studies about effects of superplasticizers on early compressive strength of concrete with POFA are insufficient. Therefore, in this study, the effects of superplasticizers were evaluated in terms of compressive strength.
