Although steel has high strength compare to concrete as structural material, usage of it decrease because of its cost. Steel, however, is not only easy to manufacture but also convenient for manufacture. Using these advantages of steel, it is possible to reduce the cost of construction, The steel bridge can be constructed by modular system. In this study, structural analysis is performed to estimate section strength of steel box girder which is made by the method of fold.

The fatigue is one of the key factors of long-lived design. For this study, wear & fatigue tests are carried out as per AASHTO Guide Specifications for seismic isolation design standard. In experiments, there was no appearance damage of the specimen. A study comparing test results before and after fatigue test showed that EDC & effective stiffness of the specimen after test is lower than before it.

This paper presents the development of LRFD codes for axially-loaded driven piles in sands. Reliability analyses were performed using the AFOSM and finally, reasonable resistance factors of base and shaft resistances were calculated base on the results of reliability analyses for different target reliability index levels. From the results of extensible reliability analyses using AFOSM, resistance factors for base and shaft resistances were found to be highly dependent on the ratios of dead-to-live load and ultimate base resistance to limit shaft resistance. Resistance factors are proposed for different combinations of these ratios within their possible ranges.

Commercially available current FRP stirrups with circular section suffer from premature failure at bent-portion by stress concentrations and kink of fibers during the fabrication process. In this research, CFRP stirrups with rectangular section (CFRPRS) has been developed, which can alleviate the aforementioned problems existing in the conventional FRP stirrups with circular section. The experimental comparisons were made between the beams with CFRPRS stirrups and conventional stirrups to observe the effectiveness of CFRPRS in resisting shear.

The hollowed precast concrete (PC) column supports beams during construction so that local compression acts on the column. At that time, the stress distribution from the beams to the column varies if hollow size varies. After the hollow is filled with grout concrete, the column has two layer, outer and inner elements with different compressive strength each other. Therefore, hollow size affect axial capacity of column after filling the hollow. Based on the above background, this paper performed a finite element (FE) analysis with parameter of hollow size to find the stress distribution of hollowed PC column during construction as well as after construction. As an analysis result, the wider the hollow size is, the less local compress strength is during construction. Also, the axial compressive resistance of column decreased when the hollow size is wider.

The main objective of this paper is to investigate the static behavior of a prestressed concrete (PSC) girder. The monolithic girder has the same geometric and material properties with respect to the splice girder. In this study transverse prestressing method was treated to connect girders as an application of modular technology, and various experiments were performed to measure a connection capacity and to evaluate structural behaviors between double T-girder.

This study proposed a hybrid floating structure which is expected to have better structural behavior than general pontoon type structure. Using structural analysis, the performance of the structure was investigated. We tried to find the optimal system of this hybrid floating structure system.

This paper presents the results of a study performed to evaluate uniaxial tensile performance and obtain a better understanding of the behavior of SHCC using an expansive admixture. To evaluate a performance of SHCC using an expansive admixture was tested a compressive strength, flexural strength, and uniaxial tensile strength.

Considering the probabilistic distribution of fibers in amorphous steel fiber reinforced concrete(ASFRC), the number of amorphous steel fibers crossing the critical section were theoretically derived as a function of fiber geometry, specimen dimensions and fiber volume fraction. The developed theoretical expressions reasonably predicted the number of amorphous steel fibers at different sections.

Limestone powder can be used for concrete as a partial replacement of Portland cement so that concrete becomes more environment-friendly construction material. One of the great applications of limestone powder added cement concrete might be a cement concrete pavement since the concrete pavement consumes massive quantity of Portland cement. However, it has been reported recently that Alkali-Silica Reaction (ASR) occurs on the cement concrete pavement causing a serious damage. This study investigates the resistance of limestone powder added cement mortar to ASR. The mortar used very high reactive silicious aggregate for accelerated ASR. Experimental procedures followed ASTM C 1260 and variables included different replacement levels of limestone powder in the mortar mix.

Fly ash dumped generally pollutes environment in the world. With the aim of sustainable development, the contribution of fly ash in concrete to the mechanical properties should be investigated. Variation of the modulus of elasticity of concrete is an important factor to evaluate the performance. In this study, the experiments were carried out over water-binder ratios of 0.34 and fly ash-binder ratios from 0% to 30%. The elasticity of modulus of high performance concrete replacing fly ash were determined on 7days and 28 days.

In this study, prevention of scouring around bridge piers, used to form a fishway is applied to block of rivers occured corrosion, sometimes make significant reduction, in the life of the product due to the river's condition. Accordingly, rivers PC block by applying the GFRP Rebar with recycled aggregate was to enhance economy and increase durability.

Strain Hardening Cement-based Composites(SHCCs) are attractive materials for energy dissipation and crack damage mitigation. This study investigated the flexural performance of SHCC beams layered Strain-Hardening Cement-based Composite(SHCC). The flexural behavior of RC beams carried out four-point loading test. Test results indicated that PE30_20 compared with Con30 initial cracking load, the stiffness, the yielding strength was higher.

In this paper, microscopic observation of the high strength concrete subjected to elevated temperature ranged from 300~900℃ was conducted by applying SEM and MIP. According to results, an increase of temperature above 300℃ resulted in an increase of microcrack, which makes the accumulative pore amount increased.

Be constructed in the Middle East, recent overseas plant business mainly due to an increase in the amount of concrete in the construction sector is growing. In addition to the increase in domestic traffic produced in ready-mixed concrete plants and concrete due to high temperature during transportation upon arrival at the scene quickly if condensation begins to degrade due to the slump loss and workability after curing of cold joint and cause filling defects and the need for the measures . In the case of the powder that is currently on the market in order to obtain a uniform delay effects can be mixed, may be added, such as, wet, etc. Keep a less efficient storage, even if the delay has to be taken. This powder improves the delay and store it in a tablet, a delay effect to encourage the development of tablet, and the delay for compliance with basic properties was investigated.

Recently, Coastal reclamation, as a method of efficient land use, has been actively performed in Korea. As Korea has three way coast lines and lack of land resource, dredged reclamation is selected the useful way. In this paper, by performing self-weight consolidation test, characteristics of sedimentation and self-weight consolidation are grasped for condition of dredge soil. The purpose of this study is to investigate the carbonation resistance of building coating materials applied to the mortar or concrete substrate including their cracked zone. The testing parameters for this experiment were the three crack widths in the substrate including non-crack, and two types of the coating materials.

This paper investigates The purpose of this research was to investigate the effects of expansive admixture on the tension stiffening performance and cracking process of SHCC with polyethylene(PE) fiber. Testing was carried out on four axially loaded tension tie specimens. Each specimen had a square cross-section dimension 100 × 100mm of and length of 1200mm. As a result, using an expansion admixture can improve a prestress and reduce an initial shrinkage crack.

The objective of this study is to investigate the behavior and strain characteristics of steel coupling beam-wall connection. Test variable of this study is embedment length of steel coupling beam in the embedment region. The results showed that Specimens PSH2C-ST and PSH2C-ST experienced bearing failure, based on the observation of strain of concrete in the embedment region.
